    Main water shutoff valve
    Chris M.

Tim replaced my main water shutoff valve. Excellent service. Great communication. Even came on a sunday when most plumbers won't even answer the phone.

He quickly diagnosed my issue and explained everything thoroughly. While I was shocked by the price tag to snake the sink/drain line ($520), Juan's promptness, thorough work and explanation and overall professional service made it well worth it. I later validated with a plumber friend that emergency plumbing work is just expensive, so the $520 doesn't sound too outrageous. Overall - highly recommend calling Juan / Clove for any plumbing needs.

Long story short - we had a leak from our…read moreshower, clove rep came to fix it, then after mold remediation was already done we saw that it was still leaking, clove rep came back to fix it again, then I saw that where the leak was repaired again there were complete gaps between the shower wall and wall itself (as pictured) so water would have come spilling into the walls, then they came back to fix again. The part though that really bothers me is that, after all this, they also took my baseboard from the wall. No idea what they did with it. I called asking where it was and they never called me back. I'm now having to spend more money to get a custom baseboard created to match the rest of the room. I don't enjoy not supporting local businesses, but the fact that I'm now having to spend more money because of the baseboard being taken instead of this being compensated for is the reason I'm posting this. Not okay and won't use again.

I've been using Faith Plumbing & Air / Faith Mechanical for over 10 years, and I can confidently…read moresay that Cesar and Kristen run one of the most trustworthy and reliable companies in the industry. I've relied on Cesar for countless plumbing and HVAC issues--everything from my personal home to multiple rental properties I manage. Cesar consistently goes above and beyond. He takes the time to explain the entire situation, walks me through recommendations and options , and never rushes the conversation--no matter how long it takes. His professionalism, honesty, and strong communication are unmatched. I truly trust him, and that is priceless in this line of work. Yes, Faith Plumbing & Air is a bit more on the expensive side, but the quality of work, integrity, and peace of mind make it absolutely worth every penny. I'd rather pay for a job done right the first time, and that's exactly what they deliver. Over the years, I've referred Cesar to colleagues, friends, and family, and every single one of them has had equally great experiences. I can't recommend Faith Plumbing & Air / Faith Mechanical enough--they are my go-to team for anything plumbing or HVAC, and they've earned my trust time and time again.

It hung my other subs up and offered no explanation for his extended absence. There are four points of contact in the bathroom and every single item(shower, toilet, sink and tub) component proved to be problematic. This is after an extensive consultation and detailed outline of the entire project. Every time he opened a box, he said "I didn't know you had a tub, shower head, faucet, toilet like this". I had to pay for retile and labor for incorrect drain placement and item returns. Every time something was done incorrectly, his response was "that can be fixed". All of which included stocking and shipping fees because of his incompetence. The upside to all of the $10,000 in additional cost we incurred because of him was we found an EXCELLENT plumbing company.

I'm a little surprised Jake's Plumbing has such positive reviews, based on my experience with them…read more My home warranty company assigned them for a job that involved multiple items, most very simple, but two a little more involved. I'll start by saying a few nice things: Jake's is able to dispatch quickly, and the plumbers they send seem relatively capable, though there is some variation. And both the plumbers and the office staff seem nice. More challengingly, it took a remarkable number of visits, over many, many months, to complete some fairly straightforward work. I'm lucky I have a job that fairly easily lets me be at home waiting for a contractor if needed; for someone for whom taking time away from work is a bigger deal, this would have been a brutal experience. And there were a bunch of hiccups, like the wrong parts being ordered, plumbers showing up not prepared to do the job, and a plumber dismantling a shower valve down to the rough-in valve and declaring the job done (surreally, I had to argue with the office that the job was finished when the shower was functional again). Most challengingly, two valves for a tub needed replacement, because they were leaking and too corroded to replace the cartridges, requiring access through tile. For almost a year, I tried to get a quote for the work, because the home warranty company wouldn't cover tile access. I asked the office repeatedly for a quote. I asked every plumber who came to my house to work on other, simpler parts of the job. And I never got a quote, and I finally just gave up. The bottom line is that this office seems to struggle to handle even modestly complex jobs. For the simplest jobs, like a toilet that needs to be snaked or a simple leak under a sink, they can dispatch a reasonably capable, friendly plumber quickly. But the wheels seem to come off when things get even modestly complex, like parts having to be ordered. And I say all that with some regret, because these seem like nice people, and I tried really hard to work with them.

Most recently, Mark handled a garbage disposal leak and a kitchen faucet leak for us. Mark is incredibly knowledgeable and performs a very thorough inspection before starting any work. Before the appointment, my husband explained the issue in detail and sent photos of the make and model of the unit. When Mark arrived, he looked at the unit and said he needed to contact the manufacturer and would follow up on Monday. We never received that follow-up. There were no missed calls, no voicemail, and no text message. My husband does not block unknown numbers and must answer all calls for work, so there is no record of any attempt to contact us. During this time, we were also dealing with our son unexpectedly needing surgery, which delayed us from calling back sooner. Prior to MG Plumbing's visit, we had already contacted PG&E when we first noticed the gas smell. PG&E did not detect a gas leak, even while running hot water to try to reproduce the issue. Out of caution, we have been turning the gas off when the unit is not in use. The smell appears to occur only when hot water is used in our children's bathroom. When we finally followed up later in the week, we were informed that Mark is not certified to work on Rinnai units, which prevented him from getting information from the manufacturer. Given the safety concern involved, this should have been clearly communicated sooner. Due to the lack of follow-up and communication, we had to start over with a certified plumber. I hope this review remains visible so others can make an informed decision.
