I discovered this restaurant on Instagram and instantly knew I had to visit and I'm so glad I did! The food absolutely blew my expectations. Everything was delicious, and the prices were very affordable. I also love that it's BYOB, it's great to have the option to bring your own wine. The meatballs and pasta were incredible, full of flavor and cooked to perfection. And don't skip dessert it's a must! I'll definitely be coming back soon. I need to try their chicken parm next time! Thank you to the staff for the great service and spot-on recommendations. Highly recommend this place!

Felt like walking back in time old school Italian family restaurant. The table in back with 3 gray haired guys look like VIP's. I ordered a dish that was chicken, sausage, mushrooms, peppers, onions and potatoes it was a first for me. But I had them add of course spaghetti. The bread came hot and wrapped in basket.

I have been hearing about this resturant forever! After going, I completely understand!! Everything I tried here is amazing! All of the food is so fresh and delicious. First we started off with bruschetta. I normally don't eat that, but it was so amazingly fresh and good and I couldn't stop eating it. I ordered cavatelli & broccoli with shrimp and I had to eat it until my stomach hurt! The people I was with ordered rigatoni with vodka sauce, basalmic chicken, and shrimp scampi. The rigatoni and chicken were very good but the scampi was amazing! I couldn't stop eating it. I have no idea if I want to order the cavatelli or the scampi next time! The service was great. I can't remember our waitress' name but she was very good. The ambiance is pretty casual so don't worry about getting dressed up. I finished off my meal with a cappuccino which was so good!

A plate that could have fed two of us!

Old School Authenticity We stopped in midweek and were thrilled with the feel of this this place. It reminded me of the restaurants of my youth, filled with locals who wandered the tables chatting with old friends. The menu was as comfortable as the surroundings. Parking was easy, they have a locked lot across the street. Give Luigi's a shot, you will not be disappointed.

Linguine with fresh clams in red sauce

My new favorite Italian spot!! Authentic, freshly made, and amazing service by 2 of the nicest ladies ever . Extremely jovial, down to earth, and made us feel like we were regulars. Checked on us from time to time but not overbearing, made sure we had what we needed and super laid back. Never made us feel rushed. I had Linguine with clams in red sauce. Fresh pasta. Fresh clams. Amazing flavor. My other half had the pork chop. Juicy, fresh, and delicious! For dessert we split the pistachio stuffed croissant; also made fresh to order. The place isn't too big nor too small; perfect size. A bit in the intimate side. Played the best music too. Definitely going back xo. See you soon!!!

Chicken francesa. Not on the menu but available.

I love Italian food and so does my husband. He wanted pasta and it was Friday, which means I wasn't cooking lol I've been searching for genuine Italian food close by. By golly, I found what I was looking for! True, authentic Italian cuisine. It's BYOB which we wish we had known earlier, but, we were saved by a near by liquor store. We started with calamari, which was fresh and delicious. Not that frozen stuff other place push out. A huge difference in quality and taste was present. They served us a pitcher of ice and glasses for our wine. Fresh french bread with a high quality olive oil for dipping. The oil was so tasty I wanted to drink it! My husband ordered chicken parmigiana and I ordered chicken francese. On the menu, they only had veal francese but had no issue making mine chicken. I just can't do veal. It does state on the menu if you don't see it, ask for it. I love that they encourage that. The ladies were attentive. This place was small, dark and cozy. Not really romantic, but genuine and authentic in its vibe. Hubby's chicken parm was amazing. The portion was huge (3 cutlets) and my chicken francese was equally portioned as well. We were told we couldn't order fettuccine as a side which was disappointing, but, we could do linguine which is only slightly thinner. Okay, fine, we settled. The red sauce was chunky, well, seasoned. My meal was good not great. I can make chicken francese myself and I'm an excellent cook, so I'm a tough critic. For dessert we had a pistachio copra and a nutella tasting tort I forgot the name of. Caramel cappuccino and an espresso to top it off. The pistachio copra was delicious and the tort was good but just one note. The drinks were made well and were comforting. I picked Luigis out of 5 other restaurants I had in mind. I don't regret it, we will be back.

Bugs flies

It's hard not to notice that you're business has flies all over water jars from the 90s also, the water fountain is attracting bugs and flies. If you look on the front window seal, there's flies everywhere and dead on the floor. That is the most disgusting thing you can have in a restaurant here's a video and pictures.

Good fats Italian spot. Not very mom and pop and not what I'm used to for an Italian restaurant but the food is doable. I will not be back but for people who are craving fast Italian I recommend this spot.

Do they have gluten-free options?

Limited

Do they sell alcohol / wine or is it BYOB???? Could've sworn 1 of the pics that was posted had a bottle of wine in it. Also, attire..... is it dressy or casual? Want this for a date night....

Luigi's does not have a liquor license. It is BYOB. There is a liquor store a few doors down.

"You won't want to cook anymore" he tells us a bit later. He's not wrong. I had the fish special, cod, served puttanesca, with mash potatoes and spinach. He had the rigatoni bolognese. Perfectly cooked pasta. "Everything is homemade," Angelo explained later. Smart and fairly well-priced wine list. We asked why the 2020 Carparzo Brunello di Montalcino was so low priced, and learned the wine has been priced the same since their father closed their Upper East Side location and the kids opened in Newark. "New York food at NJ prices," Angelo explained. "I've never had tiramisu I've liked better", husband told me. "I've never had flan Ive liked better" I told him. (It is coconut flan.) Great service. Wonderful spot. And Bon Jovi has been in twice, most recently he brought his wife. Enough said.

The food is probably the closest you can get to actual Spanish tapas but what i love most about this place is that everythings got flavorrrrr For our table of 4 we got CROQUETAS with their house cured chorizo- very good POLLO FIORENTINA- chicken was so tender and packeddd with flavor! BARRIGUITA- plentiful serving for a tapa, we loved the potatoes it came with too CHICHARRON DE POLLO- flavorful chicken and easier to eat than you think TARTAR- delish but small Chipirones- sooo delicately breaded you can barely tell, was great COSTILLA A LA PLANCHA- plentiful for a tapa, we recommend cooking for longer since its traditionally a tough cut of beef SAUTED VEGETABLES- tastey and not mushy thankfully! The food was absolutely amazing really flavorful and well done. Just be a little prepared that most dishes come in smaller portions. But the quality definitely makes up for it. I ordered the paella, and it's easily enough for two or even three people and it was well worth it. Really delicious. The drinks were also definitely worth trying while you're there. The only thing I wasn't big on was the desserts they didn't quite live up to the rest of the meal. But overall, great atmosphere, excellent food, and a fun experience. I'd definitely come back.

Girls' night rule #1: pick a place with a vibe. Girls' night…read morerule #2: the food better back it up. Burke's Tavern understood the assignment. None of us had been before, so we walked in blind, except not really, because the second we stepped inside the vibe hit us. Dimmed lights (but not "can't read the menu" dim), candles glowing, plants everywhere, music just loud enough to feel cool but not loud enough to ruin the gossip. Cozy. Chill. Cute. The holy trinity. It wasn't packed, so we had seating options and landed at a round table in the middle: elite positioning, honestly. Door and front windows on one side, bar view on the other. Prime people-watching real estate. Now let's discuss the important part: the food. We ordered strategically (read: everything we wanted). Lamb meatballs - 10/10. Holy crap. I don't know who is back there doing what, but please continue. Burrata pizza - absolutely delicious. Gone in record time. Gochu-Crispy-Chikin - no notes. Million Dollar Chicken - appropriately named. Fish 'N' Chips - zero complaints across the table. And that's the thing: not a single person in the group had an issue. No side-eye. No "it's good, but..." Just clean plates and happy energy. Now. Parking? Disrespectful. It's on a corner (love that), but finding parking took effort (do not love that). Would I let that stop me? Absolutely not. Parking be damned. I will circle. I will walk. I will manifest a spot. Because this place is such a vibe that it's already secured a return visit -- brunch is calling, and I need to see what this place feels like when the weather warms up. Girls' night/date night/ANY night approved.

The atmosphere and restaurant look great. It has a good vibe and the service was great. Let me tell you about the burger, not the best, they give you a slider size patty, overcooked and served on a bun that comes apart when you grab it. I'm not sure about the rest of the menu, but not a burger place. Now the chocolate cake with the raspberry ice cream--wow! This was the best part of the meal. I'm giving this place 4 stars even though I didn't like the burger because that's all I tried. I'll come back and revise this rating up/down if I come back and try other menu items. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.
