Very good food, but slightly more pricey than other surrounding restaurants. It does help to have a reservation. I was a bit hesitant to have the chicken, but oh my gosh it was so so good. You could taste a little bit of lemon in the batter coating it and it was light and crispy. Just excellent. Potato salad was good... I find it interesting that every restaurant serves potato salad and a slightly different manner, but I've enjoyed every single serving. Despite the fact I'm not a big potato salad person.

We made a reservation, based on the recommendation of our tour guide. Although there was a line outside, we went to the desk and were seated immediately. We were served some water and we ordered wine. My dining companion had the fried chicken and potato salad, I had the beef ribeye steak with roasted potato's and herbed butter. I ordered my steak med-rare and it was perfect. Rosemary roasted potatoes were soft but crispy. The fried chicken was moist. The potatoes salad was half potatoes and half cucumber sour cream salad. Very good but not quite as good as some we had elsewhere. It is a little more $ than other places. However it was a very good meal. Service was attentive.

Came here during a couples trip a while back and with the nearby "place to go" restaurant backed up for hours, we were told to give this place a try instead. We were quickly given an outside table and we settled in with a beer as we awaited our meals. My wife ordered the boiled beef which came with a small bowl of soup and a side of potatoes. She enjoyed the meal along with the accompanying horseradish. I settled on the veal wiener schnitzel that came with a side of potato-field salad. The lemon squeeze certainly helped cut the richness of the breaded veal, and the cranberry sauce helped add a bit of moisture to the dish. Was just iffy on the potato salad, not a taste I was very familiar with. All in all a satisfying meal in a lovely setting.

While visiting Vienna, my hubby and I stumbled upon Lugeck. Our initial goal was to eat at a different restaurant that serves schnitzels; however, it was booked. Lugeck was packed and we assumed that since we didn't have reservations we would have to wait for a seat. To our delight, they had seating available, and we were seated quickly We red over the menu and decided to start with drinks. I opted for the Organic raspberry rhubarb soda and my hubby had a glass of riesling. My soda was not too sweet but it was refreshing and my hubby enjoyed his glass of riesling. Next, we ordered our entrees. I ordered the cauliflower curry. It came with rice and cashew nuts. I ended up ordering a side of rosemary potatoes as well. My hubby ordered the chicken schnitzel with rosemary potatoes as well. My food was decent. The curry needed more spices though. It was a little too bland for my liking. My hubby liked the schnitzel but he also said it could have used more seasoning. The potatoes were delicious though. The service was outstanding. Our waiter was informative and great suggestions. Our ratings are as follows: Organic raspberry rhubarb soda - 4/5 Cauliflower curry - 3/5 Rosemary Potatoes - 4/5 Riesling - 4/5 Schnitzel - 3/5 Rosemary potatoes - 3.5/5 Customer service was 5/5 for both of us. Overall we rate Lugeck a 3.7. If you are looking for average German cuisine in Vienna, this place could suffice.

Service was absolutely outstanding! Nadal was his name I I believe and he was so kind, friendly, funny, and got everything perfect with our meal! The ambiance was very cozy and fun! It was so busy on a Friday so I recommend making reservations! Really can't thank Lugeck enough for the best meal in Vienna!

Gorgeous restaurant! If you are traveling and need to try the schnitzel this is the place for you. The restaurant sits in this beautiful part of the city, partly secluded street. We had the schnitzel 8/10 which was perfectly cooked but honestly the potato salad 10/10 was the star of the show. I would eat that every day! Get a reservation, this place is incredibly popular

Our tour guide recommended Lugeck to us. It is located in the city center within a beautiful building with outdoor seating. We did not have a reservation, and we were seated right away outside. They have menus in English. It's a bit pricy, as the schnitzel is 26 Euro. But it was worth it. Our waiter told us it was the best. We also had a steak sandwich, and it has the most amazing bread. It was a cranberry rye, which was super crispy with superfoods. It was served with a small salad and cost around 17 Euros. Our waiter Alessandro was so nice and informative. He had great recommendations, and he even told us that their house made beer is the healthiest we would ever have. It was really good too. I would highly recommend Lugeck if you are in Vienna. Enjoy.

So happy we made it here. Made a reservation weeks before and we were instantly seated on the patio. Ordered the Steak Tartare with Avocado, the Signature Breads, the Lugeck Bowl, the Baked Goat Cheese Salad, and Weiner Schnitzel. Steak Tartare was served with avocado making the dish creamier than the classics preparation. Pairs well their bread. Lugeck Bowl and Goat Cheese Salad were hearty and fresh. Nice quality ingredients. The star of the show however was the schnitzel. Perfectly breaded veal and served with a slightly sweet, warm potato salad. I grew up eating German potato salad as a kid, so loved the throwback. Overall, a wonderful evening dining al fresco with a very attentive wait staff. In a city that some say is food challenged, I would definitely consider a table here.

Was okay but we really wanted to try weinershnitzel ! Waiters speak English well but it took a very long time to get seated even though there were so many open tables and waiters passing by us. Waited in the doorway for around 10 minutes before anyone greeted us. Drinks were really good!

This is one of the restaurants of the Figlmuller group. They are known for their veal wiener schnitzel that comes usually in an xl portion extending outside the plate: Part of the typical show but it also used to be very good. The restaurant was very busy on a week day and our table was on the second floor. The server was hectic and short. When he left at the end of his day, his replacement was not better. Another server was equally abrupt. The food was average : The wiener schnitzel lacked salt and had shrunk in size. The typical cranberry condiment did not come with it and we had to ask for it. The mixed salad had too much mayo( !) and the fried raviolis bathed in oil. The house wine was average. Given this experience and suspecting that this place has become a tourist place given the number of posters advertising it's dishes that one can see in several places in downtown, I will try to find other more authentic restaurants!

It's still family-owned by the fourth generation of the Figlmüller family. We had a reservation, which I highly recommend. When we arrived, there was quite a long line outside the building, but we were able to walk right in to get seated at our reserved table. Figlmüller Bäckerstraße may be the offshoot of the original, but it still has tons of historic character. It's traditional and cozy and warm. The service was great, too - it made for a very comfortable spot. My friend and I shared: Figlmüller-Schnitzel, creamy veal goulash with spätzle, and carrot salad. We might have had a couple of glasses of wine, too. The food was all great - Viennese classics and delicious. Overall, I thought Figlmüller lived up to the hype. *******READ FINE PRINT ON MENU*********…read more I have issues with this place. My review will not change the trajectory of how this place operates. However, it is unlike any place in the world I have ever visited. We were seated at a table that was meant for 6 people and got taken down to two people as there was another couple sitting there. The place for lunch was absolutely slammed, so it is obviously a popular spot. Without asking, they drop bread off at the table. With a place of this atmosphere it was expected, as this is what I would expect out of a finer food establishment. The schnitzel was very light and had plenty of flavor. No other sides came with the schnitzel so I had the potato salad which was good, but different. The beef stroganoff did have an immense amount of flavor. They lacked the very small amount of noodles that are given with this dish. The fastest uninterrupted service we got was when I waited and finally asked for the check. They were quick to give me a dessert/after food drink menu. They were quick to be on top of me to see if I wanted anything. I declined and paid the bill. What I will tell you is, that is completely OUTRAGEOUS is the charge listed as 2 - Gedeck. A quick review told me that it is a "Cover Charge" at a euro rate of 4.90 per person. A further Google review told me that it is also because they placed bread on the table (I do not know what is factual). Regardless of whatever the charge is or whatever they want to call it, I have never ever ever paid a "Cover Charge/Gedek" charge to occupy a restaurant. If this was a late night spot that I decided to pop bottles at or had "dancers" at the business, I could get there, but for a sit down lunch, what a complete utter rip off. This in itself would cause me never to return to this establishment. Make sure if you eat here, that you read the fine print or look at my pictures. They have very small print that notifies the consumer of them charging cover charge as well as what they charge for sharing of some dishes. All I can say is be mindful and do not be taken back like we were when the bill comes.

I stayed at a nearby hotel and when I told the concierge I went here for schnitzel. He stated that,…read moreas a local, this wouldn't be his first preference and seemed to respectfully imply that I had expensive taste (but did say it was a good spot). I should've responded, "I'm a tourist, so yes, I do have expensive taste." (not quoting some Icelandic-Chinese singer or anything, of course) While I know that their Tafelspitz is their signature, I wanted some schnitzel. However, I ordered a bowl of the broth the beef was cooked in, which also comes with root vegetables. Surprisingly (or not), this was the best part of the dinner. The broth's depth of flavor is apparent and it's so savory. The broth is also clean and clear. This was definitely one of the best broths I've had and this alone puts the restaurant at a 5. I went for the schnitzel and got suckered into getting the potato salad. The salad was fine; a little tangy, with the potatoes keeping their definition. However, it's nothing amazing. The schnitzel is super-thin and breading is nicely browned. The veal is rather tender, but you need the lemon to "wake-up" the schnitzel. The bread basket was a bit diverse and the selections were fine. I thought the wheat roll was the best of the choices. The apricot juice was really thick, so it definitely appeared to be legit juice. My server was pretty friendly for Vienna and actually did a little bit a conversation. The decor is classy but not stuffy. Plenty of folks came in with smart casual but also some were more dressed up.
