There are probably even better examples of tapas in the city. But being that this is my first experience of tapas in Barcelona, and this is place is across the street from my hotel, and the server is so friendly and patient speaking to me in English, and the food is really pretty good, and at this price point?!! I am very happy!
The squid ink paella is alluringly delicious--earthy, tangy, velvety rich. Hiding clams and squid whiskers. Potent, hearty, decadent.
The calamari rings are alright. The pizza is disappointing. The anchovy fillets with green olives is less salty than I expected.
But, the Catalan fried squid tentacles are awesome, octopus with paprika potatoes also tasty.
The boquerones in vinegar, and Catalan fried boquerones--that's what's good! Grilled ciabatta with tomato purée is a must. And the cold Pilsner is delightful.
