There are some things for kids to climb on, some animals to see, and a good amount of places to sit and eat purchased food and beverages or what you brought in. The apple cider donuts are definitely worth getting, and I was decently satisfied with my pulled pork sandwich. Next time, though, I'd probably just bring my own food. There's a small store with items and snacks for sale (and an ATM). There's also a bar for some seasonal drinks. The apple-picking area you pay by the bag size. Cash only. No wagons allowed - I wish this had been posted better, but apparently it's a new policy since apples were getting stolen. How sad! Lots of apple trees and two very large sections to choose from. Near the parking lot is a small patch of pumpkins. We got two decent-sized ones for $15/each. The area was definitely muddy with all the traffic and rain. Wear your galoshes! Maybe it was an off day, but the meat selection (despite copious advertising outside) was small and outlandishly priced. The rest of the farm stand was also very small and low on stock. We frequent Abma's Farm often, who do the same sort of thing and their market is constantly stocked to the brim and their prices are significantly lower for similar quality meat and produce. Service was kind and courteous. The land here is absolutely gorgeous. Just go with reasonable expectations.

Beyond that, the women working the stand were all nice, and the prices were very reasonable. I got corn which was also quite good, and was a standard price so I didn't feel like I needed to buy a bunch just to get a bulk discount. I did also try the green valley farms labeled black cherry soda - that was probably the only 3/4 star experience for me, but would be perfect for someone who likes the flavor of black cherry soda without the carbonation of a brand like Stewart's.

The only sitting area around (aside from the pumpkin garden that had no seats available) was a small secluded room next to the wine section. There were no customers there. So I made my way to a stool, took out my nursing poncho (I'm European so for me breastfeeding is completely natural, nonetheless I understand and respect the fact that other people might get distracted by it so I still wear a poncho to cover myself in public) and was about to take my baby out of his stroller when a lady working in the counter asked me what was I looking for. I replied "nothing thanks I just have to nurse him". She then stopped in complete shock, looked at me in disgust and said "You CANNOT DO THAT HERE". I think I was just as in shock upon hearing this in the 21st century, in a so-called "family-friendly" place. I quickly got up, turned away, and had to go all the way back to my car with my crying baby to be able to feed him. Of course as soon as I finished breastfeeding him in my car, I drove off, and I will for sure never drive into this place again. Nor will I recommend it to any other moms. Really sucky experience for a postpartum woman, who just moved into town, and was very excited to take her baby to the farm. I had booked my tickets a couple days ago and what I expected to be a fun farm day turned out to be an experience where I felt judged and discriminated for having to do something as physiological as feeding my baby. I understand a room next to a wine-selling section might not be an ideal place to nurse, trust me, it wasn't for me either. But the lady could have been a LOT nicer, much less judgy, and be polite enough to guide me into a better place to feed my baby rather than making me go away as if I was gross. I think if you work in a customer-facing role in a family farm, being this rude to a family should be a deal breaker and managing these situations with kindness should be non-negotiable. And if you're a place that "welcomes" families with kids of all ages, you should also expect some breastfeeding moms might have to feed their children.. And either have a place for them to do so, or good enough manners to handle the situation. But maybe that's just me. Extremely bizarre day for me and my family.

The farm is home for many animals, goat, pigs and you'll often find a few cats following you round as you explore. There's a gift shop on site, which you must stop in to see. They have lots of hand made items, from hats, gloves, to socks and so much more, most made with the fur of the alpacas. Also, They do have soaps and lotions that are made from the milk of the alpaca's, which is the most buttery soft lotions and luxurious soaps you'll ever use. The visit here is worth while, it's a unique way to spend some time with the animals and in nature.

Although the animals were beautiful in appearance, they seemed to only respond to the owner when she plied them with treats. They didn't seem to be trained to walk along with strangers, namely people they were not familiar with. I was especially disappointed as I had booked a private as opposed to a group hike. I will say that the owner was accommodating when the weather was not conducive to hiking; she allowed us to change our reservation to another day.

It was fairly easy to find though going there, my map told me to go down a treacherous gravel road which I wasn't terribly fond of. They have a moderately sized parking lot and you'll see this large, red barn. That's where you get your goodies (there's often a line) and where their store is. We stopped by for a treat first. They sell ice cream, cider floats, and what is a "TikTok famous" coffee float with donut. We got: Cider ($4) - I didn't actually drink this. I got it for my kid with food allergies. He wanted ice cream but they do not know if the ice cream they use contains eggs or not so we played it safe. My kid thought it was okay but finally finished it later. He typically prefers regular apple juice. Cider float with donut - you have a choice of no donut for $2 less. It's like a root beer float but with cider instead of root beer, black and orange sprinkles around the time of the cup, whipped cream, and a powdered cider donut over it all. I shared this with my daughter. That donut was delicious! Warm, tender, and crisp on the outside. The drink was great! I do wish it came with a spoon because it got difficult finishing the last of it. Warning: if you have one of these, the bees are coming for you. They use some sort of caramel-like sauce to get the sprinkles to stick. Overall, quite good. Maple cider donut ($3): my sister got this and she said it was amazing, but she said she thought $3 was a bit much (the unglazed donuts are $1.25 each). She's vegan, so didn't partake in the float, but she also wasn't going to ask if there's milk in the donut. If you're getting only donuts, they are purchased in the store. They have tables and chairs nearby for you to picnic and enjoy your treats. Going through the gates, there was a table but they were busy with other people so we walked right in. There is no entrance fee, which was nice. You go through the apple orchard first. It seems like most of the apples have been picked through, though there are a lot of developing apples. Some of the nicer ones were way too tall for us; they don't provide ladders. We only managed to find one that looked nice. At the end, there used to be a sunflower field and the corn maze. It's epic but you don't know how formidable until you're past the point of return and realize it's not a kids maze. We were in there for a while! Even met other kids that thought they'd be lost forever. The corn stalks are taller than a human and they're pretty dense so you can't look over or through them. It's a true maze and I was impressed. I wish they would provide a paper maze puzzle of the corn maze because I'm so curious how it is from above. Lots of dead ends. What I can say is don't lose hope. You'll get there! (When we finally found the exit, it was almost like a dream because we had been staring at corn for so long.) In hindsight, it was good we ate something first. Once done, we explored the sunflowers and saw the pumpkin patch. As we headed out, we went to pay for our lone apple and we discovered THE CORN MAZE IS NOT FREE. It's $10 per adult and $5 per kid. They charged us $1 for the single apple. I guess they work on the honor system? I didn't mind much because that maze clearly took planning. Before we left, we visited the store full of baked goodies. I got a few cider donuts, a dumpling, and a piece of crumb cake because they just brought out a fresh tray. Plus a lattice harvest pie. The pies with crumble aren't vegan, but the lattice pies are made of vegetable shortening. Restrooms! They have a row of port-a-potties by the parking lot. They're actually the cleanest ones I've been to before. No sinks but they do have a dispenser of antibacterial hand gel. The openings are a bit large so if your kid needs to use the toilets, hold onto them. Overall, it was quite enjoyable and I definitely think everyone should go through a corn maze of this caliber at least once in their life. The apple pickings were sparse but at least you get delicious floats and donuts! Note: they have gluten free goodies in the store but they are nut based (almond flour). They also had one gluten free-vegan item.

Muscoot Farm isn't a petting zoo, but the animals do come up to you sometimes if you're quiet and respectful. I was surprised that I didn't see any of their horses and that they didn't have any male turkeys, but we got to see some of the feeding time, and I even got the chance to learn a little about how the Farm used to be run. The farm doesn't require payment, but they do take donations so please donate when you come so that they can continue feeding and caring for the animals and the land, and so they can continue to pay their employees. This farm is a great place, and I hope that anyone who reads this review comes to visit.
