We had the most amazing experience meeting alpacas. Alyssa is the best host, she spent entire hour with us responding to questions we had, walking us through and showing alpacas. Will come back!

    Beautiful eyes!

while visiting the area we booked a tour of Stagecoach Alpaca Farm. Not knowing what to expect we were pleasantly surprised! The farm was so inviting and Alyssa, the owner was beyond gracious. We spent quality time getting to know all the alpacas and learning their personalities! The farm was clean and the new shop was just opened and very conservatively priced! Able to get some really cool gifts! I would say this is a MUST DO! Support small business!

Wanted to see some alpacas for my birthday and lucked out on finding stagecoach! Emailed a few days before to schedule a tour. Had a private tour for just my husband and I! Alyssa was lovely! She has about 17 females and 5 males, I believe. Had an awesome tour! Was about an hour long and got to feed the babies and mama alpacas! They were beautiful, so soft and so sweet. They are very happy alpacas. Will come back to bring the family and kids!!! Thank you, Alyssa for a wonderful time!

Walking inside, it's a different experience at Wright's Farm. This visit, I want to buy a bottle of local wine and some local cheese then go back to the hotel. I see there is a very nice selection of Hudson Valley and regional wines. I also buy a nice local, spreadable cheese along with some crackers. I noticed towards the back, I see a wall of homemade jams. And they're all packaged in these cute mason jars! Strawberry Jelly is a must but then we went a little nutzo with a few more jam flavors as well as homemade apple sauces, fresh cheeses and pickles! Sunday, its check out time and we're heading back to Long Island after breakfast. My wife said we need to go shopping for dinner today. I said, Let's go back to Wright's Farm and pick up dinner? And this was the highlight of our trip. In the cold cases, I see homemade ravioli, one of the stuffings was corn? I had plans to stop in The Bronx and get a few boxes of Raviolis. I gambled and said lets try their corn ravioli. O.M.G. This ravioli was fantastic! My wife made it with fresh sage from our herb garden. It was a little pricey but it was better than anything I had this year. For the week, we bought a large ham steak and a ham hock for pea soup. I saw something interesting, a black futsu squash? I told my wife, lets buy one and take a chance. Amazing! My wife cooked this squash and it came out deelish. Dessert? My sons inhaled the apple cider doughnuts we bought home for them. Wright's Farm, it was a pleasant surprise to discover your local farmstand.

Add on the fact they have several Hip-Camp spots for camping overnight, and a very large field for Harvest Host members to park overnight makes this one of our top destinations this time of year. Being only about 2 1/2 hours drive from Long Island it is well worth the pilgrimage to this incredible family run farm!

Upon arrival each person pays a $10 cover charge that you receive a ticket for use in the country store in the amount of $10, so technically you get your money back as long as you buy something. Honestly the visiting experience was only okay, I am not sure I'd go back or recommend it BUT this is tempered by the fact that I did buy the biggest, prettiest mum and I may go back again for another one next year. I definitely have the nicest mum in all of Jersey City. I think it was around $20 for my huge mum and I was going to buy some apple cider donuts, but when I saw they were charging $18 for 12 donuts I put the package back on the shelf.

Honestly best apple cider donuts I've ever had + freshly baked , not stale at all and very soft and fluffy (but you have to buy it in a dozen, you can't buy individual) Lots of apples to choose from ~5-8 kinds from evercrisp to snapdragon to gold rush. Gold rush & pink lady were my favorite. Atmosphere: Loved for fall! There's was live music, plenty of apples and pumpkins to pick from, plenty of benches and seating indoors and outdoors for eating, and areas for children to play Dogs allowed! Service: friendly everywhere!! Price: cheap for entry, food is $$. You have to pay a $10 fee but it goes towards anything you buy. For apple cider & cider donuts I would say worth the price. A bit of a trek from NYC, but definitely a local favorite, and many travel here from far away. I can see why - and let me tell you, IT IS WORTH THE TRIP. Both times, we've had the "baek suk" which is steamed chicken that have been cooking for hours and hours. We've also had "jang uh" which is eel - that is farmed and caught by the owners themselves! This is probably the best chicken and eel I've ever had in my life. The meal also comes with plenty of side dishes. There's no menu, but from what I can gather, the prices are as follows: Eel (Janguh) for 2 people: $30 Chicken soup (Baek suk) for 1 person: $55 Spicy chicken stew (Dakdoritang) for 2 people: $55 Whole pig BBQ for 10 people: $700 Basically, our group of 10 wanted to try everything on the menu except for the pig (save for next time!) and we just called ahead and told them that we didn't need whole portions of everything for every person. I think the owners portioned the dishes based on what we wanted, and it was perfect! It ended up being about $50pp for tax and tip. Pricey, but well worth it. Make sure to call in advance! Everything is cooked to order, and it's really helpful for them to know exactly what time you arrive. Wonderful, wonderful meal. Can't wait to be back!

I have plenty of experience with Korean food from visits to this Asian country, and I have to say the food served at Kim's Farm is very authentic, but also unique in that they source the food from its own farm, including the grilled freshwater eel which is raised on location. Apart from the eel I also had "Dak bokkeum tang" (spicy braised chicken) which was just as delicious. The sweet lady who owns the restaurant/resort told me that their peak season is usually Spring-Summer, so unfortunately I missed out on a few highlights of coming here, but if I'm ever in the area again I sure know a great spot to come back to with friends and family!

Came here for lavender picking by the bucket and we had such an incredible time relaxing, walking around the fields, taking photos and hearing the music of the bees as we walked through the fields. If you stop for a moment, you hear their little choir in perfect synchrony. Came here during the week and it was very quiet and not too many people were around so it was perfect. Absolutely obsessed with the lavender lemonade and all the lavender products. The best part about this place is that there's no fee to walk around or hang around the fields. You pay for what you pick and they have different sizing options. Lavender is only seasonal of course but you can find out what they have in season of pick the beautiful wildflowers if they're around. To be honest just coming out here to relax is an experience itself. They have continuous different types of workshops available done right at the open area (it has a cover so in case it's too hot or it rains you're good!). Make sure to check out what classes and things they have going on on their ig or on their website. Bottom line, gorgeous space, dreamy vibes and incredible owners.

I believe there were…read moreothers close to this one, but we went with Ochs because of the low admission fee ($5 per person) and petting zoo. It was an hour and a half drive from upper Manhattan. We went here on a random Wednesday afternoon so we basically had the orchard to ourselves. The first parking lot you see is for their store, you have to keep driving up for the u-pick orchard. There you check in to pay your admission fee, get your wristband, and get your apple picking bag(s). They give you a map where the ripe apples are highlighted for you. My favorite apples were the honeycrisp and snap dragons. They grow vegetables too but honestly we didn't explore the orchard that much (it was huge) so the only other thing I picked besides apples was a tomato, which I felt like was pretty difficult to find a good one. I handed out the apples to other friends and colleagues and they all liked them! There's something different about picking the apple straight off the tree than the apples you would normally just buy at a grocery store. It's a lot crispier when you pick them yourself! The store has apple cider doughnuts! Now being that I am a Californian where we don't have this apple picking culture, I was wondering what all the hype around apple cider doughnuts was about. NOW I GET IT they're so good! Unfortunately since we went on a weekday the doughnuts weren't fresh (they make them fresh on the weekends) so some of them were stale, but most were still good. It's honestly more of a cake than a doughnut, but so good! The doughnuts are self serve towards the back. The store also had a cat on the prowl haha We ended up not even having time to visit the petting zoo, but overall I think my colleagues had a good time here and I would recommend this orchard for anyone trying to have a no frills apple picking experience. I believe there was like a building restroom closer to the store and port o potties closer to the u-pick orchard.

The apple cider donuts are a must-try! We came on a winter day few days after Christmas and they had free samples of apple cider. I got some tea and honey to bring back home to FL. I also bought some apples and they were so soft inside and juicy. Unlike any other apple I've had. I wish I had a way to bring the Amish butter home since a family member has it in their home I often have it with bread in the morning. The staff were friendly, and everything was well-organized. Heads up It's a bit busy during peak times, but that's to be expected at a popular place. But when we came on a Saturday they were practically empty and lady made a joke not to come on the weekends so I assume normally it's a busy day or they dedicate it to stocking up since when we came I saw about 3 of the staff unboxing stuff. Overall, a really enjoyable experience with a charming atmosphere. I'll definitely be coming back next season!

There are two stores, one that keeps the dairy products in fridges, and the other one is smaller, cuter and sells more non-perishable products like soaps, lotions, candles, etc. This store also sells fresh frozen grass-fed meats. Do not expect a big selection, but good enough to pick up some turkey, chicken or Italian sausages. The lady/receptionist was so friendly and helpful. She asked if I needed any help, and I told her I had never tried raw milk but wanted to purchase some. This is when she guided us to the original store, and showed us around. Mainly, the fridges are full of pre-ordered raw milk. All labeled and not to taken! She showed me the different sizes and gave us a small sample. I loved it and it didn't make me sick like regular pasteurized milk. I asked her if she can just sell me a small half liter bottle. She found a lovely glass container and she poured some in. You will find fresh eggs(from other farms not theirs) butter, kefir and yogurt. After we paid, we found ourselves entertained by the calves and goats outside the farm. There's a section where children can play with hay and these animals. The calves were inside crates. If you find yourself driving up north, do yourself a favor and stop here and pick up some goodies. Excellent!!
