Came here after a Dave Matthews Band show at the AMP. It's open 24 hours, which was perfect. The Ultimate Breakfast was awesome. There were multiple hot sauces to choose from for the eggs & hashbrowns & the sausage links were some of the best we've had. Grits were slightly runny but great butter flavor. My wife and I hadn't been to Lucy's in several years - before my parents passed away. They loved eating at Lucy's because of the old diner feel. We recently ate there on a Sunday at lunch time. We walked in and found a small table to the back of the diner. We were greeted by a young lady who brought menus to us and asked for a drink order. We wanted to wait on drinks since we weren't sure of having lunch or breakfast. After finally deciding, my wife had the Sunday turkey special which she liked but couldn't finish the meal there was so much. I chose the chicken tenders with fried okra and green beans. The beans were cooked with ham and had a good flavor and not overly cooked. The okra was the bomb - reminded me of the okra my mom and mother in law used to fix years ago. Not your usual fried okra at most places. The chicken tenders were good but not as meaty as I would like. Lots of batter on the outside. A good place to eat and good memories as well read more

Just visited this cute 1950's style diner last weekend. My kids got breakfast food. One got pancakes and the others got French toast. It was sooo good. I got open faced sliced beef on top of bread with brown gravy and a side of mashed potatoes and onion rings. My husband got a huge burger with a massive amount of hand cut fries. Their portions are huge and it was delicious . It was a small restaurant and felt like a place that would have been in Mayberry ( Andy Griffith). read more

Well the reviews of this place are all over the page, but my experience was a solid 4 stars. We went in about 930 on a Saturday morning for breakfast. We were able just be seated immediately, although the place was pretty busy, and all the staff were super prompt and friendly. The menu has all the normal breakfast items well represented, and a great selection of omelettes. I noticed that some combos would include grits and hashbrowns, not one or the other and they would also do the hashbrowns with all the toppings like Waffle House. They have a ridiculous menu of soda fountain drinks for us non-coffee drinkers. I'm also not a big breakfast person, so I grabbed a soda, a couple of eggs over easy, sausage, and a biscuit with gravy. Eggs were perfectly done, biscuit was good, sausage was okay, and gravy was meh, by which I mean it's like gravy at every other breakfast establishment. Everybody uses the mix, and nothing with real meat. Pretty flavorless. My hubby had the same eggs, hash browns, bacon, and two incredible pancakes. I don't really even like pancakes, and these were super fluffy, but with a nice almost toasty outside. I helped myself to several bites & we still couldn't finish them all. The fact that we were surrounded by super nice people, wanted for nothing the whole time, and I'm actually thinking about eating pancakes there again means I got to go four stars. Maybe I'll venture in one day for chicken and dumplings and let you know how those are. read more

After seeing pictures of the food I really wanted to try this place. We walk in and are greeted by the cook ( they weren't busy) and all the waitresses. We were brought menus ( that are completely falling apart). Looking around ( especially at the ceiling) I was thinking we made a huge mistake, but went ahead and ordered. They were out of chicken tenders ( my sons order) the cook came out and let us know, said he could give him fried " chicken chunks ". Food was brought out in a timely manner. It was steaming hot. I didn't care for my meatloaf, it has a lot of green bell pepper in it. I did not like the Mac and cheese at all, and the mashed potatoes seemed like they were instant. My husband ordered the open face roast beef, he enjoyed it. And my son ( super picky eater) gave the chicken an 8/10. His kids meal came with a ton of fries. If you go on Monday or Thursday you get free pie, the chocolate pie is delicious! I'm not sure we'll come back ( only for the pie). read more

Went on a nice, quiet breakfast date with my husband. We both had the special (eggs, grits, choice of meat, hashbrowns, and toast or biscuit). We asked for the eggs to be cooked over easy. They came out perfect. Also, Ashton was our server and she was very attentive! We ordered a cinnamon roll (appetizer, ha) and she asked if we wanted butter melted on top. Yes, please! We appreciated the suggestions/recommendations and her kind demeanor. It started raining when we left and she offered for us to borrow her umbrella. Great experience! Will be back. Lucy's is the closest thing to home cooking I have been able to find nearby. I typically go there at night. Each time I have been there, it was the same waitress and there have never been more than 6 people there at once. The server, who appears to be in her forties, will dictate where to sit. Not because of Covid-19, but because she is anxious to leave when her shift is over. The first time, they were out of "anything" pork. Tonight, no pie. NONE! A couple of days ago we stopped around lunchtime, but their "system was down" so they closed the place up? I had always wondered what we would do if something of this nature occurred. The younger generations are mostly unable to count back change. Counting change is one thing but it is not as important as not making any money to count back! We usually see this diner driving into town. I am happy we decided to try it out vs the chain breakfast joints. The food was delicious and my ham steak left everyone jealous of my selection. To this day my kids still talk about the breakfast. The staff was very nice especially with having a big party. The diner is a bit small and a little confusing as to what to do when you enter. Just left Lucy's and we have four happy bellies. We all had breakfast and it was so amazing. I had the silver dollar pancakes with blueberries. The blueberries are big and fresh. The hash browns were cooked to perfection. The cream gravy on the biscuits is some of the best I have ever had and I'm from East Texas. Husband had the philly omelette and it was big and tasty.
