I am unable to justify spending $75 for sweats. I mean, really. So it's no wonder that I make a beeline for the sale racks in the back with 20-50% off markdowns and completely ignore the regular-priced merchandise. The sales allow me to pay more realistic prices for quality work-out wear. Yoga pants, message tees that don't hawk whorish messages but instead are about peace and harmony through exercise and positive body image. The pants sizes come in short, regular and tall--short is perfect for the vertically challenged like me. By the way, don't throw this stuff in the dryer. The quality means there's a lot of wear left in these clothes, but the shrinkage!--I've had many a pair of long sweats that I've managed to turn into capris. read more

I'm not sure what happened to this store, but the workout clothes have just become very unappealing. The colors and textures for their seasonal clothes are bland. The small store is packed. They may be marketing to older women since their latest mail ad models were older (or maybe I'm just older and in denial). Maybe they're letting lululemon down the street take care of the younger yogi demographic. I'm on their email and mailing list, so when I get the 30% off coupons I stock up on my Champion sports bras which have more support than the cheaper ones they sell at dept stores. If you're in their system and their mailing list and forget your coupon, they'll look you up and honor the discount! I've never seen this anywhere else... read more

The MAIN reason why I'm giving this Lucy a one star is for the horrible customer service from the associate who always happens to be there on Saturday's. One I get her name I will update this review, she blonde a little wide and o really don't know how she's managed to work at This Lucy for so long. I love shopping at Lucy but I hate coming to this location for the ride associate who does not know a thing about customer service. She's. Dry rude, lazy and not helpful. Every time I've been here she's not only been rude to my mother but she always has an attitude and is admin on rolling her eyes. I have driven to San Francisco just for the better store experience as they are very nice and very helpful. At this Lucy when you ask for another size the associate will not even bother to see if it's available In another size or available to order online as they offer this option and it's clearly on the poster in the store. This associate never even bothers looking anything up as she always says that everything is out and what's out there is what's available. Seriously? Lucy is known for if we don't have it in the store we will look up the item to see where else its available or for online order. I end up having to call a manager or someone else to help me as she won't lift a finger. As why she has not been fired I don't know but they definitely need to replace current with someone who is much friendlier and provides good customer service as it is not a good reflection on the brand. Besides that bad apple of an associate you have a decent selection of clothing to choose from but I find the other stores usually have more to offer than this location but it always changes. read more

Yes, it's true... the stuff here isn't cheap but I still love this place because the quality of their clothing is excellent. I've had Tshirts that I bought maybe 5 years ago that have kept their shape and color and I've worn and washed them to death. I'm a big graphic tee fan and they have such cute designs that I find hard to resist. Last weekend I scored at the sale rack - 2 pairs of capris, 2 tees, a jacket and a mini pocket pouch all for $127. Can't beat that! This is why I always stop in and peruse the sale rack because you just don't know what you might find. The service is always on point and I love how they are super helpful and knowledgeable and more importantly, they don't pressure you to do or buy anything. i used to shop here all the time but their prices on some tops are ridiculous. i mean - really?? $58 for a yoga top (their sunbeam cover-up). and what happened to the yoga mats? prices seemed to have doubled! so i invested in the skidless towel by yogitoes and it just goes straight into the washer and dryer after a couple of uses. they still sell comfy clothing but i usually wait, like the other yelpers, for the coupons to land in my snail mail and e-mail. read more

Lucy is a fine store for lounge wear, yoga wear and maybe even some light cardio wear (e.g. stairmaster, elliptical). However, Lucy's clothes are totally inadequate for runners. Don't believe the Lucy customer service people if they tell you otherwise (as they apparently do). Those pants aren't going to stay up and they aren't breathable. Not cheap active wear but the service makes up for the price (kinda-it is pretty expensive for what are essentially stretch pants). I had a return from the online store, unfortunately they didn't have my particular item in the store any longer but the woman there was really friendly and offered to take my info and call all the other stores and have the item sent free to me once she found it so I wouldn't have to wait there while she did it and offered similar items and really took her time and walked through the store with me. I had high hopes for this store. I saw it from a distance and had some time before eating anniversary dinner around the corner. I'm in the market for workout gear, so I came in here excited and ready to drop some serious cash on cute outfits. Unfortunately, I was in for some racial profiling! Ok sure this is Burlingame, but I shop at the Mac store, Sephora and Gap and it's not even that bad. I walk in and I SMILE first and the employee closest to the door, and she turns away. Okay-maybe I'm tripping I head to the back check out the racks and the lady in front of me with the stroller gets a great greeting from the sales person in the back. She tells her they're a sale on this and that. Hmmm-I turn around and the manager at the counter is doing something and I look at her to ask her where I could find...she turns around quick and goes to greet other customers in the front. Not one salesperson or manager was down to give me service or even a greeting! I couldn't believe it. I'm seriously disappointed because I was wanted to purchase some gear! Man I was a manager at Nordies for years, I know this is unacceptable Customer Service. I was ready to drop like $200, but it was a scene straight out of Pretty Woman. I purchased some pants that were too big and they gladly let me exchange something for equal value. I have fallen in love with this store. The clothes are simple and comfortable and great for work outs or just lounging around. The prices are a bit high(which is why the 4 star rating), but they have a great selection of things available on the sale racks and there are always sales going on. The staff there are great. I can walk in and have no reservations about asking for help from the staff. That is one of the reasons I keep coming back because the staff is so friendly and helpful. read more

I am below the category of a plus size woman. Not huge, just very tall and proportioned. I can wear a a ten or 12-I really like the workout and casual styles here. Several times I have been in and the staff is always doting on really fit and normal sized women. They have never asked me if I needed help and I usually don't, but a point in the direction of my needs would be nice. I run so I needed a comfortable cotton outfit on one day that I went in. The only things I saw were velour, non cotton fiber suits. When asked if there were any suits in cotton, I was told, "not in your size." Need I say more? read more

I would say that their customer service is absolutely superb. They are very attentive, and don't try to sell you things that won't work. The workers here are soo nice. All of them greeted me and asked if I had any questions which shows great service. They have lots of active wear, but I came in for my free socks. They're not cheap, but their workout clothes stand the test of time. :) I workout between 4-6 times a week. Dance classes plus cross training... so they run through the wash a TON. I have Lucy stuff I've been wearing from 2010 - and they still look great. I guess I do love Lucy. :) read more

I love this store! Every time I go in, I find something I "have to have" - great clothes, comfortable, and cute. It is a bit expensive, but if you go when they have sales going on, you can get some great deals! I also really like the women that work there - especially Laura, who has always been so pleasant and helpful when I go in - bringing me different sizes, different things to try on that I might like, and honest opinions when I request them. I stop in whenever I'm on Burlingame Ave...this is my favorite Lucy location, but I really like their clothes so I hit other stores too including online! Another positive thing is that they are great about returns, even taking returns of things you bought online, and with a smile! I had to bring back a shirt I bought that came unstitched after I wore and washed it once - and they happily took it back and apologized for the apparent defect. read more
