The person at the front desk was very knowledgeable. They had a lot of people walking around to explain 10 games if you have any questions. I love that you were able to basically play various games and unlimited amount of times as you wanted to. It definitely just made all of us feel like we were big kids. I wish that the prize selection was a little bit better but other than that a great place to come to for adult adults and kids.

We went on a rainy Sunday afternoon, so it wasn't crowded at all and we were able to play all the games we wanted to without waiting in line. We all got an hour of game time, which is more than enough imo. Afterwards, they gave us tokens to use with the claw machines in the front! Games in the back are your typical arcade games (basketball, shooting, racing, etc.) but they also have some fun rhythm games that aren't typically offered at arcades. They also have a multi sensory VR machine in the back that blows air/fragrance in your face - it's very similar to the Avatar ride at DisneyWorld. However, it did make me pretty nauseous so I would avoid if you are motion sensitive. They also have 3 rooms on the side where you can play interactive games - it was probably my favorite game, but you definitely work up a sweat! They have a worker stationed near the games that explains the games to you beforehand, which is really helpful because there aren't a lot of instructions posted. It would be cool if they add a photobooth machine in the future!

Astoria Bowl/Bowl 360 has really gone downhill. I came here years ago with my kids and we had a…read moregreat time at a reasonable price, so I decided to return in March 2025 for my son's 10th birthday. Unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience from start to finish. The two men at the front desk seemed more interested in their own conversation than in helping customers. They had AirPods in and didn't acknowledge anyone waiting until people had to raise their voices just to get attention. The food was another letdown. It looked nothing like what was shown on the menu, portions were much smaller than advertised, and the taste didn't make up for it. The drinks were especially frustrating--a "large" that appeared to be 12-14 oz ended up being about 6 oz of mostly water and ice. There's no way that justifies a $14 price tag. I also noticed that many people were bowling without proper bowling shoes, which is both unsafe and damaging to the lanes. It didn't seem like the staff were enforcing basic safety rules at all. Toward the end of our visit, around 7pm, there was another issue that felt very inappropriate for the setting. A female staff member's attire was extremely revealing, which made the environment uncomfortable--especially with so many families and children present. By this I mean- you could see her ENTIRE rear-end and it seemed she had no undergarments on. There were 30-40 teenage boys in there at that time...so you can imagine what happened...the entire scene was disgusting. On top of all that, everything felt overpriced for the quality and atmosphere. The floors were sticky, the tables were dirty, and aside from one young man serving food--who at least made an effort--most of the staff didn't seem interested in being there or helping customers. Overall, this was a frustrating and disappointing experience, especially for what was supposed to be a special birthday outing. I'd recommend spending a little extra and going to a more reputable bowling venue in the city.

Great visit to the Museum of Moving Image…read more Finally made it over to Queens to visit the Museum on a Thursday during their Free Thursdays (2pm - 6pm). General admission prices are $20 for adults, $12 for seniors and students and $10 for children. Tickets are NOT required for their Free Thursdays, but are required for all other days. The museum is conveniently located just a few blocks away from the Steinway M/R subway stations. There is also street parking in the surroudning area. The first floor has a large tabled cafeteria area which sells lots of cafe-style items. There is also a courtyard there. So many interesting movie and TV-based exhibits throughout the museum's second floor. Great explanations of and insight to the film-making process. The make-up/prosthetic area was particularly interesting which currently features "The Exorcist". There is also a great current exhibit on the Sopranos, diving into the making of the hit television series, taking you through some of its iconic locations. The Jim Henson exhibit was also great and takes you through his decorated career and his contributions to various shows like Sesame Street and the Muppets and movies like The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth. The third floor contains the technical "making of..." exhibits. It takes you through the cameras, lighting and sound capturing throughout the years. There are some great interactive exhibits on this floor. I was only there for about an hour and a half and found myself running out of time on the third floor. I would easily plan for a 3-hour or so trip to read and experience everything...including maybe a bite at the cafe and some relaxation in the courtyard.

I can get a bit overwhelmed by places like The Met and MOMA since there's so much to see and a lot of it takes a ton of context to appreciate. MoMI has some really cool artifacts and interesting interactive exhibits and we found it so fun. The standout portion was the Jim Henson exhibition which was so nostalgic and special. I grew up watching The Muppet Show, Sesame Street, Fraggle Rock, and The Dark Crystal so this was so up my alley. It was a mix of information, old sketches, and puppets and I found it all so well curated and charming. I'm not sure if this exact exhibit is still here but even if it isn't I'm sure they replaced it with something equally great! Admission is even free on some days which is bonkers but so lovely
