I tried Lucky nails because they offered a hybrid gel/poly gel manicure. A friend of mine had been going to them for a long time and I trust her opinion. I really liked it! It has a Hawaiian feel to it and their massage chairs are some of the nicest I've seen in Auburn. They are busy and I take that as a good sign. The only suggestion I have for the business is to please accept electronic forms of payment, such as Venmo, Apple Pay, etc. I rarely have cash and definitely never have my checkbook on me. Ann took her time making sure my nails looked great, paying close attention to every detail of my dip/powder manicure. I love how my nails came out. I was shocked by the price. Which they told me in the middle of the manicure. I have never paid $60 for a manicure, even a deluxe manicure with all the works (paraffin, hot stone massage, etc). Recently, I had an acrylic manicure set done. I like them better than the powder dips. And I like a French manicure. CKay did an excellent job!!!! She will be my go-to manicurist. On a different day, I had a pedicure done by Amy and she did a great job, too! Pretty pick toes! I don't like the bottom of my feet scrubbed because I am extremely ticklish and there was a slight difficulty explaining where to scrub and where not to, but it was all sorted out. She was very through and did a lovely job. I also like this place because they have great ventilation. You don't smell strong chemical the permeate the room like you do in some of the other smaller nail salons. And they have nice relaxing music playing. I have been coming to Lucky Nails for at least 2 years and only had one unfortunate event. I assume the girl who did my pedicure at that time (don't remember her name) was inexperienced. She didn't do a very good job removing excess cuticle. I asked for clear regular nail polish (not gel). It was odd she used one bottle and then switched to another. The next day the clear polished turned pure white! Bizarre. That's when I could tell she did a crappy job applying the polish, very messy. When I went back, I got the same girl and I asked her to remove the strange white polish. She oddly seemed sort of reticent at first, but as I asked, she got out some acetone and tried briefly, but it did nothing. If it had been regular polish it should have come right off. A couple other manicurists came over and they discussed the problem in Vietnamese - leaving me out of the conversation. She then got out the Dremel and tried to sand it off. I told her to stop. I would just let it grow out. That was a one-time event. Every other time I have had a mani or pedi it has been perfect, so I am still giving 5 stars - for all the other times. read more

Completely different lengths and really thick. 45.00 and I am so used to tipping I gave her 50.00. All right, so nails and toes done by Nancy, sweet woman and she's been doing nails more than 10 years. My toes cost 30 plus 10-13 for gel color. the pedicure was well done and the massage was great! Nails were re shaped and thickend plus one nail was broken that cost 40. This is where I was impressed, she asked me several times if I liked the shape, she had no problem going back and hitting a few so they were perfect. She also did even out under my nail and trim the cuticle. Many shops neglect your cuticles and don't bother touching them up but it is part of the nail experience. The nails are bomb! I went on Sunday for a mani/pedi and thought I'd try out a local salon because my usual salon is a 30 min drive each way. When I approached the door I saw a sign about limiting the amount of customers for Covid which I thought was great. When I walked in the place was packed. People there not even getting services just chatting. I was seated in the very last pedi booth by the owner. After 10 min of waiting I was asked to move to a different station. My old station wasn't sanitized for the next person who was seated a few min later. The person doing my service wasn't very great. She kept putting my foot in an awkward position that was uncomfortable. My pedicure looked like the person was new and my manicure was even worse. Paid $56 for just ok service. To top it off the owner had her 2 young children running around the salon eating chips and candy. Hitting each other and screaming. Not once did her husband or the owner tell the children to stop. A customer told the children several times to stop hitting each other not the parents. The husband was to occupied fixing a wall fountain the using a very loud drill... I had an appointment at 11 and sat on a couch for 30 minutes waiting to get into a chair for an acrylic set . The lady seemed like she was rushing and got it done in about 30 minutes. No complaints. 3 days later I lose a nail while swimming and another started to lift. Luckily I was able to glue them back. Day 4, another two nails fell off and I didn't even feel it. The lady on the phone told me $30 but once everything was done I was told $45. They charged $13 extra for gel polish on my friend's toes. It was so hard to make a decision, because they have SOO MANY. The girls were all so sweet and funny. I loved the decor too - it was like a cute seaside spa. My gel nails turned out awesome. This place is awesome! Went 3 weeks ago and came back for my second time today and for sure will keep going back. I can't remember the ladies who helped me with my full set and pedi last time, but the pedicure was out of this world. It was their most expensive one and supposed to last 55 minutes but I got well over an hour of pampering. My full set came out awesome. 3 weeks later there was no fading, chipping, peeling or lifting! I am rough with my hands and had a few incidents that normally I would have broken a nail or 2 but this set survived all the roughness without fail! Today Cindy did my pedicure and was sooo gentle when clipping and trimming my nails. I have some ingrown nails that hurt so bad when clipped and trimmed up but not here! The massage was yet again amazing. Whatever the yellow scrub is smells so good and feels even better when massaged in. Bonus score for me: I have a heel that always hurts but after my first pedi here I had no pain for 2-3 days. So far no pain and it's been 5 hours since my pedi. Definitely helps the hurt and tired feet issue for me. Kim was awesome was my hands! She shaped my nails beautifully. She is fast but her quality of work is some of the best I have ever had done!
