Basic restaurant as far as ambiance. Plenty of parking. The menu is expansive and the servings, large. The lo mien, chicken broccoli and egg rolls were all good. Value for your money - we had enough food for lunch and to take home. read more

Lucky Fortune - Broccoli chicken - Chinese Near Me - Damariscotta, Maine

My cousin said that this place had new owners and had improved under them. They also happen to be the only Chinese restaurant in town. I got a small order of crab rangoons and Gai Poo lo mein, to go. The people were very friendly, and the service appeared to be fast and attentive. The interior does have a few booths, which surprised me since it looks like just a take away place from the outside. The "crab" rangoons were nicely fried triangles, but the filling was really just cream cheese, so I don't know why they don't call them cream cheese wontons. The lo mein was better, but the inclusion of ham strips made the whole thing more salty than I could enjoy. I can't recommend it, but it's also the only choice if you want Chinese, so that may not matter. read more

I was pleasantly surprised with the overall quality of the food, service and quantity. I was driving back to Rockland from Portland and most places were closed. The gentleman at LF was kind enough to take my order in advance over the phone and time the production to have it ready when I arrived. The food came out promptly at the time requested. I was offered a free drink and extra broccoli to compensate for an alleged small entree protein portion due to running out of product near closing. Despite this, I found the portion size to be well above average. The food was tasty, great sauce on the beef and I enjoyed the dumpling filling/ sauce. I will absolutely visit again in the future for carry out. *Note: the food was presented in a much more appealing manor than my photo represents. This was after I mixed it all together on one plate. read more

Just under $50. We took one bite and couldn't eat. Bland. Sweet & sour pork was so tough it couldn't be cut. Pork Egg Foo Young was so greasy it went through the container and the bag. Very little egg and the pork was stringy and tough. I don't know what the sauce was but it wasn't lobster sauce and was tasteless. No crab in the crab rangoon. The rice was dry and again bland. Ordered a side of shrimp fried rice. This too was dry, tasteless and only a few shrimp. Even the cookies were stale. This was suppose to be our food for the next 2 or 3 days. Sad, expensive and disgusting. read more

The family that runs Lucky Fortune is very nice. It is a classic, inexpensive, greasy spoon Chinese takeout joint. The food is ok for the price. It's not elevated. It's not innovative. It's not low fat or low carb. The only thing healthy about it is the portions. But it's fine for what it is. We probably eat here twice a year. If you want fresher food, Best Thai in the downtown is better; but the fresher food is reflected in the price, obviously. read more

Absolutely delicious food! Some of the best Chinese food I've ever had and we are from out of town. Service was amazing! Very attentive and kind. We have a baby and I was trying to clean his mess but she insisted she would take care of it and to enjoy our night. Also the owner or cook I believe helped someone with their large order to their car which was sweet of him. Highly recommend read more

The food was absolutely delicious, served promptly by a very cordial waitress. We will definitely return!

I love Asian and Chinese food, from the comfort foods we enjoy in the US created by Chinese American chefs to traditional Asian and Chinese dishes. In Damerascotta ME sits a hidden treasure that within its quiet low key environment lives a restaurant with food that could easily sit among the trendy high end restaurants of Portland. They specialize in Cantonese cuisine, though the classic Chinese American comfort food is available, I recommend asking the amazing staff about more traditional Cantonese dishes. Today I had the Cantonese Roast Duck, mixed vegetables in a brown sauce, white rice, and a pork bun. The duck was absolutely amazing, perfectly moist, with a crisp skin, and comes with a sauce made that really brings out the flavour of the duck. The mixed vegetables were a perfect compliment to the duck, they were fresh and crisp, not soggy and over cooked as often the case in Chinese American restaurants. The a side of white rice helps to balance the saltiness of the meal, giving a perfect, palette pleasing balance to the meal. The staff are friendly, and knowledgeable, and if you are interested they are happy to share their culture with you. They also can do a traditional Chinese family style meal if you let them know in advance. Even if coming in for a casual dinner with a friend, order a few dishes and extra plates, and share, which is the traditional way of enjoying a meal in many Asian cultures. Also using chopsticks while eating, will encourage mindful eating, slowing down, and really tasting and fully enjoying each bite. So definitely for yourself a favour and check out this amazing place! High end flavour in a casual setting. They also now serve alcohol, and out door seating is available as the weather begins to warm. This meal ran me about $60 with tip, and could easily feed two, add another side and could easily feed 3, so honestly a great value. read more

Pork Fried Rice, beef teriyaki and crab Rangoon are my usual. Very tasty and fresh. Mai Tai are phenomenal. Very nice dine spot.

Gotten take out there a few times. The fried rice is usually a bit dry but most everything is usually pretty good. Usually get the pupu platter, which is a bunch of fried apps like egg roll, fried rice, teriyaki chicken, crab rangoon, butterfly shrimp, and others. There's also over 20 combo meals that mix and match certain pupu platter items with entre items like General Tao or Sesame Chicken Unfortunately it is the only chinese place in the Damariscotta/Newcastle area so unless you wanna drive 10 to 15 minutes to Waldoboro, this is it. Good, but not great food. read more

Wish we had checked reviews before ordering take-out! Food was greasy, tasteless. Frid rice was mushy . Disappointed.

If I could give this negative stars, I would. I ordered takeout for my family on Thursday 01/09/2020. We kept it simple and got a pupu platter. Upon eating an egg roll, I bit down on a staple. Absolutely unacceptable. We brought the food right back, along with the staple. While they did refund me, they told me it "didn't look like their staple." That's right, because as you can see it was deep fried. I will never visit this restaurant again. read more

Eat food from Lucky Fortune last night and did not taste so lucky or a fortune. Sorry ordered sesame chicken and was not sure what type of meat or poultry in it. Really bad taste and did not taste like sesame. The chicken lo mein I ordered was spaghetti with bites of moist chicken. Really disappointed. Won't be back for that lucky Fortune. They said their store hours closes around 9:00pm but we're literally 40mins before they closed and the no one is there!!!! Don't tell us your closing at normal hour but the truth is you guys closed at random hours! Really weird! I won't recommend this Asian restaurant at all! read more

This was the worst Chinese I have ever had. I even tried it twice just to see if I had tried them on a bad day. They were just as awful the second time. I never realized how important it was to play music in a restaurant until I sat down in this dead silent Chinese rest and every movement I made felt like a construction site. The surroundings were cheap and unpleasant. The food was God awful. The only edible part was the fortune cookie at the end. I will not ever be returning and will continue to warn others! read more

This is in response to the review of Mianzie Q dated 6/24/19. If you went to Lucky Fortune on 6/24/19, then you went on a Monday. On Mondays this restaurant is closed. I have been here a couple of times and always found the food to be very delicious and satisfying. read more

This was truly a surprise given previous reviews. The ingredients were fresh and very well prepared. Great experience will surely return.

really good food! got the 6 piece wings, which were huge for the price, and the general tso's chicken combo. the only thing i wouldn't recommend is the duck sauce, which is kinda apple-sauce-like. otherwise, it's a very nice family-run chinese place. sad that it's only 2 stars on yelp because it deserves 4. read more

Small restaurant counter service. Clean, well-organized. Has a few small tables. Pretty good food. Egg foo young was excellent; well flavored gravy. Chicken wings were nice - not over cooked as is common . Fried rice had onions and nice pieces of pork. Boneless ribs were best I ever had. Overall- best Chinese in the Boothbay area. We stopped by to sit down for a bite to eat between events. That was mistake. This place is strictly take-out. The atmosphere is sterile; shuffling chair around made a deafening screech. The counter girls were certainly Maine natives and projected a lackadaisical indifference to the customers. The food was OK - not bad, but not inspiring. There was plenty of it and the price was right. If you're still craving Chinese, take it out. read more
