I didn't know what to expect way out here in Quincy. I'm new to NorCal and there are so many small towns scattered throughout the region, so you don't always know what you're going to get. I stopped in Lucio's for a quick bite. I wasn't sure what to get. When in doubt...nachos! They were good and hit the spot. They didn't look that appealing at first, but the flavor made up for that. Crunchy house-made chips smothered in beans, cheese, carne asada, guacamole and sour cream with a boost of spicy hot sauce...yum! The chips and salsa were very good, too! If I could put zero stars I would. The food is horrible and the service is horrible. The waitress was very rude and aggressive.

My friend and I came to Quincy for a Christmas holiday trip and this was the first and only restaurant that we found in the town which was opened in the morning. The restaurant itself was nice and cozy, you can hear the chatters of a lot of locals. The staffs were nice and even though it took a while for us to get our food which is understandable since it's a small place but we found it worth the wait. The food were all pretty good, and both of us was impressed by the random potstickers that were on the menu mostly, as they were tender and juicy on the inside with a thin skin, and the sauce that came with it was great too, my friend was considering ordering another plate after we killed it. I also like how I can order just one single pancake as I normally can't eat a full portion of standard American diner breakfast. It was also nice and fluffy. The margarita I've ordered was way too sweet, but boozy enough to warm up my alcoholic ass's morning. Generally it was a nice experience we had in this small town and if we ever travel back to the area we won't mind coming here again. read more

NOTE: New NAME of this restaurant is LUCIO'S Mexican & American Food. I'm writing this review as I eat because I'm giving this place a "10" stars out of 5. I've never done that before. My husband and I SHARED a breakfast and we are both full. We ordered a veggie omelet with no broccoli (veggies vary according to what is in stock) and I asked for it topped like a chili rellano with sauce and cheese. It is excellent! I love that they allow 2 pancakes to be substituted for toast. That is a wonderful thing. Usually I just ask for maple syrup to put on my toast. These pancakes are perfect...FLUFFY with delicious butter. The home fried potatoes are also excellent. Very flavorful and browned to PERFECTION. I love GOOD country sausage gravy and this meets my standard. I found that just a tiny side of gravy gives me the same satisfaction as eating a bowl of potatoes or biscuits and gravy or a chicken fried steak with gravy. So I dipped a few potatoes in the gravy but mostly I just ate it with my fork! We have a cabin 2 hours away. LUCIO'S food is so delicious that I might consider a day trip just to eat here again! This place sucks. I ordered coffee and a ham, cheese and onion omelette, The coffee was awful, smelled and tasted burnt. The omelette was equally as bad, they left out the onions and the ham was hard and dry. They were stingy on cheese. My son ordered a carne asada burrito but was given a breakfast burrito. They fixed it after and he said it tasted"ok" but he was not thrilled about it. I wont go back. read more

Only stopped in real quick early morning to grab a chorizo breakfast burrito to-go. Sweetheart of a server/ cashier, quick service, nice cozy little cafe. HUGE burrito full of chorizo, scrambled eggs, potatoes, and cheese: delicious! A bit greasy but hey, it's chorizo! If you are looking for a burger, this ain't it. There is very limited burger options in town (the main burger place is closed in the winter), so here we are. Bun came out not toasted. It just came with lettuce, tomato and pickle - no onions. No napkins, cutlery, ranch, ketchup or mustard were offered or readily available on the table. The server never checked in on me and seemed "busy" (yet only 1 other table was there). So I wasn't able to ask her for these. I couldn't finish my burger as it was unenjoyable. Fries were good though. Still didn't finish them as they were dry without condiments. Another star knocked off for the floors being dirty with food crumbs everywhere, including the bathroom. Perfect pit stop in Quincy off of highway 70. The food is comfort food and hits the spot if you are looking for a full breakfast! I wish I got the waitresses name, but she is very sweet, welcoming, and does a fantastic job at attending the customers. Food: Food is average. I've tried their street tacos on a Taco Tuesday. I haven't tried any of their other food because of price. (see below) Cost: When I got lucky and went on a Taco Tuesday, a street taco cost about $2.75, but when I went on another day, they wanted $4.50 (the menu said $3.75, but the cashier said it was actually $4.50) per street taco; and they are small tacos with only meat, onions and cilantro. Way, WAY too much. Dining Area: Was closed due to Covid, but they do have some booths and outside seating which should be enough for this small town. Parking: Small and I could see it getting crowded, but I always went at opening and it was mostly empty except for the staff. Service: Was good and timely, but I was always the only customer in the restaurant so it's hard to judge if they can handle a lunch rush and how long you might have to wait during said rush. Summary: If you don't mind paying way too much for some average food, I recommend them, but if you want to pay fair prices for food, go somewhere else. If you happen to drive through Greenville, stop by Jose's Taco's. His Tacos are $2 / each (for the same size tortilla and more filling) and they taste much better in my opinion. That's the only other Mexican restaurant I know of close to Quincy and at this time I've only tried their street tacos. read more

I had really hoped that the Mexican food would be good here, but it was gross. We only went here as It was the only place open in town. I ordered huevos rancheros and a coffee. The coffee was super watered down, the rice was dry (I couldn't eat it), the beans were alright, and the main course itself tasted bland and like something that came out of a can. After an amazing experience last time, we stopped to eat here again last weekend. My husband and I were visiting my parents at their camping spot in Cromberg. We stopped at Lucio's for brunch. The menu is quite extensive and we had a hard time deciding in what to order as several dishes looked great! My husband and I decided on the Carne Asada Omelette, my mom had the Mexican Pizza, and my dad had Nachos. The carne asada omelettes were very good. The meat was tender and flavored just right. My only complaint was the onion and green peppers pieces were cut too large. I also think the omelettes got switched as mine did not have tomatoes (which was fine with me), but my husband's did and he requested no tomatoes. I had the home fries with mine and they were amazing! Big chunks of potato seasoned and fried to perfection! My mom raved about her Mexican pizza which was served on fry bread (one of her favorite things). My dad said his nachos were good. My only other complaint was this time there seemed to be a lot of flies in the restaurant. The service was efficient and friendly. Overall the experience was pleasant and Lucio's remains a favorite place of mine to eat in the area. read more

I just stopped by here after a full day of mountain biking and I was starving! I got the grilled chicken teriyaki sandwich and a chicken salad sandwich to go. Carry out order (my family loved their food, and here is my take): I just had the best burger I've ever tried on the West Coast! Their prices have gone up a few dollars, but the quality has increased by a million. Double cheese burger, huge, on a gorgeous brioche bun. The sides are massive! Normally curly fries or home style cut, but they let me get a generous cup of chili, instead. Pickles were delicious, side of thousand island tasted homemade, and the burger itself was cooked precisely how I asked! Just stopped in for lunch today have eaten here many times for lunch and dinner, walked in and older waitress said set any where, so I sat the counter so that I didnt tie up a large table. She didnt say another word to me as I was the only person at the counter, after 5mintes a fellow came and sat down two stools away from ,see asked what he wanted to drink then when to register to handle to customers. After she was done at register she came back with a menu to the other fellow sitting next to me and asked him what he wanted ,still not a word to me. As I have stated she never said another word to me , and I just looked at her and shook my head. The worst service I've ever had. I was working in Quincy on the Forest Fire and wanted something other than camp food. I was looking forward to chips and salsa and Mexican food. I walked in the the place was not busy. One person awaiting a to-go order. Four people at one table were on their way out and four people were eating at another table. As I entered, I saw the sign that said "wait to be seated". The chubby young woman in spandex behind the counter looked at me as I entered. She ignored me for over five minutes as she talked to the to-go customer, then finally acknowledged my presence and rudely told me to sit wherever I wanted. Ten minutes later she brought the menu, and immediately demanded to know what I wanted. I picked something quick as she was in no mood to wait for me to read the whole menu. I ordered a Coke, which she brought quickly. Five minutes later I walked to the front counter where she was still talking to the to-go customer and asked for chips and salsa. She said "We don't have any chips". I never did find out if they had just run out, or they are the only Mexican food restaurant in America that doesn't offer chips and salsa. I told her that if she had no chips I wasn't interested in eating. I had only taken a sip of my Coke, but she still charged me almost $3 for that sip. This place sits alone on Hwy 70, seems like the middle of nowhere on the outskirts of Quincy, stopped on our road trip to Bucks Lake. The cook made me my favorite omelette and it was good! I have eaten here several times and have not had a bad experience. Tonight I tried the San Diego Burrito. It was loaded with Carne Asada and Avocado. Now days you expect mostly rice and beans as a filler. There was way too many onions so finely cut you couldn't get away from them. Combine the Avocado with a nice Tomatillo salsa saute on finish with the meat and this would be on par with the best San Diego Burritos that I have had. read more

Stopped in here after the High Sierra Music Festival. Our usual place for the Monday-after breakfast, Morning Thunder, was too crowded so we drove cross town to this place. It advertises Chinese, Mexican and American breakfast and lunch. We were a bit apprehensive about the unusual combination but it proved to be just fine. The menu is extensive with the usual and not-so-usual diner selections. We each had something different, from huevos rancheros to vegetables & eggs to sausage and hash brown and other selections. Each of us enjoyed our large breakfasts and the French Roast coffee was good. Perhaps this will become our annual post-HSMF breakfast place. read more

The owner lacks the ability to exercise his authority over his employees. The lack of professionalism from the owner and employees make for one lousy experience.
