Heard the day before Roadhouse had reopened and we were so glad they did. We got in to town around 7:00 pm. People enjoying their meals on outside patio. We sat inside. Very cozy. Our waitress was a dream. Thank you Alyssa. Such a sweet gal. We met the chef Robin, such a kind lady. We split the French dip. It oozed with flavors. Loved it. Ordered the onion rings which looked like everyone was ordering. Soooo good. We can't wait to visit again. Such lovely waitstaff. The bar was jumping with great looking drinks. I will try again. No seating available, so that is a no go for me, but not my choice at the time. Had to sit in the back, in the sun, bugs, etc. Eventually we ordered, great appetizers and came out pretty quick. Seems like we all wanted the Chicken Parm, lol. Well, it was ok. The chicken was not run through a tenderizer at all, then breaded, fried, and over baked. It was not tender at all, overcooked big time and lacked cheese and sauce. If you over cook, at least have sufficient sauce on it. I was not thrilled with the menu. Rather have gone to Sharky's. Better value. Cost was reasonable, but tough chicken just does not sit well with me. I will give it one more try, too many other good places in the area to waste time and money at. read more

Had dinner at the Roadhouse 5 or 6 times times. We usually sit in the bar area and order burgers, chicken sandwiches or fish tacos. The wait staff is super nice and quick to get drinks. The Coyote before it closed was a staff nightmare. Tried to drive by and get dinner around 5pm. Doors locked, open sign showed open. Waitress unlocked the door, said we open at 5. It was like 456. I mentioned sign said open. Waitress said - oh he went out and did that early, come back in 5. I did not. As a local, she was no one I recognized. Had a couple friends ask me about The Roadhouse the next day and related the shitty staff experience. Won't return. Staying in Clio for the night, popped over here with a friend for dinner. I gotta say - it was really good. The place was pleasantly casual, staff were nice, and they have a good selection on the menu. I had the veggie burger and sweet potato fries: thumbs up on both. My friend really enjoyed the shrimp tacos. You can't always be sure how food will be in some mountain restaurants, but the Roadhouse is a winner. read more

Thank goodness this prime location got a much needed facelift and revamp. We went once and then returned several times over the summer. The cocktails are on point and the menu has a little bit of everything. I've tried the burger, fish tacos, the chicken and steak...so far no complaints! But what really sets this place apart is the warm and welcoming service. The staff really goes the extra mile to even make a casual dinner after golf an experience. Arrived in Graeagle, for our vacation, after 2 years away. Hubby had read good things about the transformation of the coyote to the roadhouse and we went for an early dinner too. Checked it out ourselves a few days ago. We were treated like long lost family members by Paul, the manager and Zanna,,the bartender. Suffice it to say that the service was exemplary. After happily quenching our thirst, we moved onto the food portion of the evening. Tried, for the very first time, the fried mac & cheese appetizer, served with a marinara sauce. Yum! Hubby had a New York steak and was delighted that they took the pains to cook it as rare as he prefers. I really enjoyed the spicy sausage sandwich, with the garlic fries (another Yum!), and we were too full to try the desserts, but I'm going back and starting with those next time! Our Server was Great!!! The Rib Eye Steak was awful...mostly fat. Had a hard time finding any meat that was edible. Tomahawk Pork chop was not a Tomahawk!!!! Blackened Cod was ok just over cooked. Caesar Salad had way too much dressing. The Salads were served and immediately after we got our dinner. Cocktails and wine were good. Yesterday, my wife and I, had heard of a New restaurant at the River's Pines Resort. I called the resort to get the number, and a very nice lady, said I needed to make reservations. I followed her recommendation, and we dined at The Roadhouse. My wife had an Arugula beet salad with blue cheese and pecans. My wife Loved it!!! She enjoyed one of 3 specials of the night, NY Strip steak with garlic mushrooms and sour cream mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables. Excellent I ordered the Caesar salad with homemade croutons () and anchovies. I ordered the Tenderloin medallions, sour cream mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables. 5 Star. The Owner/Chef, Brian came out of the kitchen, wearing an awesome cowboy hat, and made his way around All the tables, asking patrons, how their meals were. He made his way to us, and after introducing himself, we asked where he went to culinary school. He said the California Culinary Academy and Le Cordon Bleu, in SF, where I was born and raised, and know of this Academy. My wife adds, the service was exceptional, as Maya, our server, did an awesome job. The GM/ Host, Paul, found out that it was our wedding day, and announced to everyone in the room it was our day, and presented us with a glass of Champagne each, with toasts of cheers from the guests. It was fun and crowded while we dined at his restaurant and we definitely will be back. And I feel happy to be able to post the very first review of this New Restaurant. read more

My hubby and I stopped in for happy hour after attending the nearby Longboard Ski Races in Johnsville. We sat in the bar and were hosted by the bartender Stephanie. She was super friendly & helpful. Just an FYI, that the happy hour specials consist of numerous drink specials including some of the wine but oddly enough, no specials on beer. Also none of the appetizers or food are featured during happy hour. We enjoyed a couple of the happy hour margaritas which were quite good. We tried the chicken wings which were amazing. We also had an order of the tacos as well as the beef barley soup. All of it was very good. We had an enjoyable time and will definitely come back when we're in this area again. read more

Glad to have another winter dining option in Graeagle. Service was on point. Maria did a splendid job and was very friendly. The Manager came by and asked how everything was which is always appreciated. Small but good menu. I has shrimp tacos which were great. My wife had killer spinach salad and good but slig6dry chicken sandwich. She said it just needed mayo. Jeff has Phili cheese steak sandwich and fries which he liked and Cheryl (vegetarian) had tomato bisque and beet salad and she praised her food. Fries are shoestring style which we prefer. While I'm really disappointed to write this review, as I was so excited to enjoy the birthday dinner reservations I made in advance at the Roadhouse. I must say, I left there in tears. We arrived at the restaurant and were seated outside. It was a pleasant atmosphere and were we greeted by the hostess who asked us what we wanted to drink. We both ordered iced teas. The waitress approached us to take our dinner order and when I ordered the medallions she said "we do not have those." Unfortunately, she did not start off by saying before you look at the menu there are several items we are out of. Instead she was short with me and said "what else do you want". I was furious. Not once did they let anyone know ahead of time that they were out of 5-6 items in the menu. I chose the New York steak and asked for it rare. My honey ordered the salmon and in the middle of the waitress taking his order a man walked up (which we learned later was the manager) told her over here at this table are the owners so you'll need to get right to them. We were quite surprised when we heard that. Then someone placed our iced teas in the table and ran off. We did not even have a second to ask for sweeteners or anything. So we sat there for over 5 minutes with drinks with no sweeteners. There were no other servers around to ask for assistance with either and when their was, they were completely across the patio and could not hear us say excuse me. Then out came a young man who I noticed was clearing tables I said excuse me could you please get us some sweetener and bless his heart he walked out with two sugar packets and he said this is all that was have in the entire building. I was in utter shock by then and did not know how to respond. Right behind him came a woman with our food. They tried to place two plates on our table that belonged to the owners. I said that was not ours and they were mumbling something to the effect of the kitchen staff got the tables mixed up. I was more concerned with how did they get their food before we received ours when we ordered way before they did. Then about five minutes later our food came out. They place my steak down in front of me and I il immediately cut it open to find it medium well and not rare at all. I said This is not right. The waitress says in a snotty tone what's wrong. I told her I ordered rare. She took it back. Then 4 minutes later a man Paul to me exact who had to tell me he was the manager comes running out the door with my plate and comes up to me and says what's wrong with this and I said I ordered rare. He said this is rare and I said no it's medium well. He said well I'll get you another then. Why they would not just bring me another steak instead of arguing with the customer and fixing the mess they made. Then Paul comes out to tell me there's no more New York steak and that was the last one and what else do I want. By then I'm in tears. What was supposed to be my honeys birthday dinner was terrible. His salmon was so seared dry and hard to cut and cold since I had nothing to eat. Paul was super short with me and when I addressed him about being rude to me he even stated he was not. I told him to bring me soup. He left to get the soup but I was crying so much by then my honey said let's go. Paul had offered to bump the meal anyways so it was not like they were out anything. I was out of time to find a place to eat as every place in Graeagle closes early. Seriously what a joke. I want to say this...we left that horrific restaurant and landed at Grizzly Diner where they had already cleaned the kitchen. When they saw me in tears they fired up the grill and cooked me the most amazing lobster with homemade garlic butter and made my honey the thickest, flakiest salmon on a bed of spinach. They served us with smiles and sincerity. Not once did they rush us or try to put us down! Do not waste your hard earned money at Roadhouse. The Grizzly Diner showed so much hospitality and graciously waited on us after all the mistakes the Roadhouse refused to make right on my honeys birthday. read more

Took over for Coyote Grill in the Graeagle area and did a nice job on our visit. We caught them at the openinf hour so a little short staffed but it seemed like everyone from the manager to the bartender helped moved service along for the 5-6 groups walking behind us. Food was good, hot and delivered fairly quickly. Friendly people we wish the well read more

Beautiful view, passable food, poor service. Our waiter was a sweet kid who looked to be a senior in high school. Our water glasses were a bit slow to fill, probably because the kid responsible for that was about 11 years old. We were seated outdoors at 6 pm and having a nice time until we met the manager. I didn't catch his name but we'll just call him Earnest. Before we received our food he approached our table, wringing his hands, to tell us that it was 110 degrees in the kitchen and he was worried the staff might pass out, so could we please order anything else we might need as soon as possible? A warning that the kitchen would be closing early could have done without the melodramatic guilt trip. I for one could have considered in advance whether I would need to order dessert without feeling that blood might be on my hands if I did. Earnest's tears ruined my appetite for it anyways. Maybe he was concerned that if someone passed out he'd be forced to call an ambulance, and once authorities with flashing lights showed up, they would notice that those fainting chefs weren't old enough to hold a work permit either. Anyways, none of that sweat from the exploited kitchen staff made it into my mushroom swiss burger, which had a nice crispy bun but a patty that was fairly bland and needed to be salted. As we finished eating at about 7:30, a frazzled Earnest began to clear our table of the quite necessary condiment trays. My uncle told him that if we needed to take off, Earnest could just give us the wave. And he actually did. Earnest grimaced and gave us one stiff pass of his hand. As if this nonverbal "hit the bricks" wasn't clear enough, he told us that it would be nice if we did leave, as we were the last people in the place. This had already been made exceedingly obvious--when I went inside to use the restroom, so many lights had been shut off that I had trouble finding the women's restroom tucked away in a dark hallway. Our 86 year old grandmother also got a bit lost on her own way through the passive aggressive lighting, and had trouble with the three separate latch locks on the sliding door of the single stall restroom, no doubt in place so that occupants might guard themselves against Earnest busting in to tell them they would need to leave. At least when he found out it was my uncle's birthday he brought him a piece of chocolate cake, on the house, in a to-go box. read more
