Great stop for the golf group. Solid dive bar with good drinks, play your own tunes and shoot some pool.

I've been coming to Lake Almanor every year since I was five years old, and somehow, even once I…read morewas old enough to drink, I never made it into this bar--I was always too busy enjoying the lake! Now that I don't drink anymore, I finally decided to stop in for a completely different reason: I wanted to watch the 49ers game, and I'd heard they had plenty of TVs. When I walked in, there were different games playing on several TVs with groups of people watching each one. The owner noticed me looking around and asked what game I was trying to find. When I told her the 49ers, she pointed out that it was playing on the TV near the pool table. She then went out of her way to bring over a table and chair for me, got me a Diet Coke, and set me up with my own little spot right in front of the TV. Talk about great service! Once one of the other games ended and that group left, she invited us 49ers fans to move over to the bar where we could sit in the nice cushioned seats and finish watching the game on the corner TV. What really stood out was how friendly and attentive she was. She chatted with everyone, clearly knew many of the locals, kept my Diet Coke refilled, and made me feel completely welcome. It ended up being such an enjoyable experience, and I'm so glad I finally stopped in after all these years. I'll definitely be back whenever I'm in town and there's a game to watch. Go Niners!

We stopped by this dive bar on our recent trip to Tahoe to check out a local spot. It was our first…read moretime in the area and it seemed to have great reviews so we were excited to check it out for my sister's bachelorette weekend. The bartender (I didn't catch her name, but I wish I did) was absolutely amazing. She was so friendly and kind. We showed up dressed as Pitbull and his security so we definitely stood out, but she loved it and celebrated us and my sister. She made us feel welcomed and made it as fun of an experience as possible by trying to play a Pitbull song for us, but someone else skipped it. She gave us the last of the Jell-O shots which we greatly appreciated. She also invited us to return the next day to play Bingo at 3pm, but we couldn't make it. There's a music system (like a jukebox) where you can pay for songs you'd like to listen to. We paid for some songs that were more upbeat than the music that was playing when we arrived and it didn't seem to be well received by some of the other patrons. Others have the option to skip your songs (even though you pay for them). I personally had a blast and had great interactions with others in the bar, but others in my group had experiences that made them feel unwelcome by people in the bar so I deducted a couple stars from my review since it didn't seem to be inclusive. My sister was in the bathroom and overheard others saying negative things about our group so we called it a night shortly after that happened. I wish this place was a little more inclusive, but I would return just to visit with our bartender who was so welcoming to our group.

The golf course looked pretty busy and the restaurant was busy. The patio which had about 7 tables was fully sat. The inside was about 1/2 sat. We were lucky to grab a table near a window. The ladies working were non-stop moving. I was getting tired just watching them take care of everyone and everything. They were quick and efficient. I had the chicken pecan salad which was large and tasty. It filled me up for the rest of the afternoon to the point, I didn't need a snack before dinner. The champagne vinaigrette was really tasty and I could have drank that on its own. The husband had the French Dip sandwich made with brisket. He was super happy with that. I got a little nibble of the brisket and it had great flavor and did not even need the au jus. The folks here are so efficient we were in and out in less than an hour. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. (We even saw a doe and fawn as we were walking to the entrance.) The patio overlooks the golf course. It's a really great set up. I wanted to sit out there and just zen out looking at the beauty of the area. Maybe next time. They even have a firepit on the non-patio side of the restaurant if you want to sit and enjoy the fire and a drink. I wanted to come back again but we didn't have time on this trip. So... until next time....
