This quaint t little outpost sells specialty drinks (mochas, cappuccino, etc), baked goods, sakes, and soft serves (including affogato) and some food items such as hot dogs. The staff is friendly, the place clean, and there is a little outdoor deck where you can enjoy your treats, chat, and look out at the pond. The outpost itself is really small, so you can really only have a few people in at a time.

I took a motorcycle ride today with Dave H. We wandered around Highway 89 north of Truckee and found our way into Graeagle. The Outpost was welcome sight and we pulled in for a quick break. The Outpost is a tiny little building, full of tasty hot and cold treats and drinks. All types of coffee's, teas and sodas. Along with bakery items, hot dogs, nachos, chips, ice cream and much more. This little coffee shop is well thought out and offers something for the entire family. Prices are super reasonable and the staff is friendly and helpful. Lots of outdoor seating makes it a great stop!

Cute little coffee shop in a cute little town! We were in and out quick with a cappuccino and a house coffee. They also have pre packaged snacks like oatmeal, protein bars and muffins.

Don't blink or you will miss it! The super cute little Outpost is a must stop for all your coffee needs. I've been twice since I've been here & got the white chocolate with hazelnut latte, so yummy! During summertime they have all your favorite treats. Just a hop, skip & jump from the pond!

Little coffee spot with a variety of coffee and tea it's located next to a lake where people can stand up paddle board

My review is based on my ticket purchasing/customer service (or lack thereof) experience with HSMF…read moreand not about the festival experience since I never had the chance to attend. I bought tickets for my husband as a 2019 Christmas gift, for the 2020 show. Then Covid hit and they postponed the 2020 show, as did everyone else, and I completely understood. We were so excited for the rescheduled festival in 2021. Then they "postponed" that show too, even though by that point everything had re-opened and all the other festivals and shows were on. I don't know about you, but I've never heard of a 2-year "postponement" and wish we could just call it what it is. Regardless, we planned to finally attend in 2022. And then I found out my brother picked the same weekend to get married, on the east coast. He wasn't even engaged at the time the original event was scheduled to have happened, so I had no way of knowing about this conflict 2 years down the road, and of course the *very* small window to receive a refund had already passed. I am not sure how HSMF got away with offering such a narrow window for 2020 refunds, and so early on (more than a year before the rescheduled show), but they offered zero help or support when I reached out to them about this issue. They informed me I would have to join their Facebook group to sell my tickets since they wouldn't refund me themselves. I joined the group, posted the tickets, and my post was removed so it was not a feasible means of resale. Then I got an email that HSMF was soon to be selling tickets for 2022, so I once again reached out to them and asked very kindly if they could please accept a return on my tickets due to the unprecedented TWO YEAR postponement, a family wedding that I cannot miss, and the fact that they'd be selling these tickets later the same week anyway- why not sell mine too?! But nobody even had the decency to respond to me. It takes a special kind of *insert favorite word for a mean person* to take over $600 from someone during a pandemic, "postpone" the event for two YEARS, not make an exception for such extenuating circumstances, and not even have the decency to reply. Just pocketing the money of music fans without offering any type of genuine humane support or understanding. Needless to say, going forward I will not be supporting a festival that operates in such a way. We've been to music festivals all over the country and never had a negative experience, so there's plenty of good music and festivals out there where people are treated right. Buyer beware!

I used to help…read moreout backstage, once carrying two of Steve Kimock's legendary guitars off stage after an epic performance in somewhat cold weather. I remember Steve saying, "It's like playing chickens out there." At the time that made perfect sense. If memory serves, this was the first time a lot of us tried Sierra Nevada beer (back then a sibling on the emerging craft beer scene) and the entire experience was warm and friendly. I never made it back between the early 90s until this year. I am so happy I decided to finally return. The festival has changed locations (a couple of times since) and become a lot bigger and organized. There are scores of bands, too many to see as four or five are playing at once on the different stages, but it is easy enough to walk around and catch a few songs of each. If it's hot, there is a swimming pool $8, or so. And the camping is fun. Pulling in at the beginning can be a bit stressful in sorting out your space, but once the dust settles, it's all dandy. Folks say this is a music festival for musicians, and I agree. But of course all are welcome. I hope to return again.

The male owner was visibly intoxicated and appeared to target them because they were young women standing by themselves with nobody else around. He literally screamed in their faces and physically snatched drinks out of their hands (water and soda) leaving one of the young women shaken and in tears. Soon after, two other women who appeared to intervene and stand up for the two younger women were then verbally harassed by the female owner who threated to call the Sherriff on them...(for standing up for two young women who were being harassed by your drunk husband...really ???). I have frequented this bar off and on over the years and used to really enjoy the place until the new owners took over and chased off everyone's favorite bar tender Lindsey. Seems to me all this could have been avoided by having a simple conversation with a customer "hey folks..im sorry but no drinks are allowed outside, not even water or soda's"....With all that being said, the current staff seems to be all good, but the owners are an absolute SHIT SHOW who appear to be getting "high on their own supply"...at the bar...and in the bathrooms! Normal and rational business owners do not react this way.

Music on the Beach is a great recurring event in Kings Beach in North Lake Tahoe. I went with a…read moregroup of friends for the first event of the 2014 concert season. Parking in Tahoe can be pretty dicey. However, the six of us in my group came in 3 separate cars ranging from 10 minutes early to 20 minutes late, and we all found free parking not too far from the event. I corresponded with the event coordinators through the event's Facebook page, and was happy to find that attendees are welcome to bring their own food and drinks, along with blankets and/or low-back chairs. We found a nice spot right up close to the stage and spread out our blanket, surrounded by a growing group of friendly people. We brought some wine and snacks, and settled in waiting for the concert to begin. The act for this evening was the Blues Monsters. My husband and I have seen the Blues Monsters at previous events in Reno and Tahoe including the BBQ, Brews and Blues Festival. They are amazing! They play a nice mixture of original songs and cover songs. The band has great energy, and at one point, the lead vocalist Chuck Dunn even jumped off the stage and mixed and mingled with everyone who was dancing in front of the stage. The crowd was fun, friendly and energetic! The sound quality was great! There are clean bathrooms and food trucks! The location is unbeatable! Who wouldn't want to stake their claim on a patch of sand on one of the most beautiful lakes in the world and listen to quality music until the sun goes down? I can't say enough about this event. We are already looking forward to the next concert (Fridays throughout the summer), and our enthusiastic reports are encouraging more of our friends to attend next time. One last note - these concerts are totally free, and you're not stuck buying overpriced food and drinks like you are at most concert venues, so when they come around with the donation bucket, keep that in mind, and lets keep these great events coming back to Kings Beach!
