I am obsessed with this place! It is absolutely adorable and I love that it is one of the few places here that is open during the winter. I have been coming to Graegle for a good portion of my life, and have somehow never made it here. Both the inside and outside was decorated for Valentine's Day, and it had so much character! I ordered a Vanilla Latte (per usual) and it was a 10/10. It wasn't too sweet and the temperature was perfect for how cold it was outside. We also got some hot chocolates for the little ones, and they were perfect temp and they loved them. The server was also so sweet and accommodating. This quaint t little outpost sells specialty drinks (mochas, cappuccino, etc), baked goods, sakes, and soft serves (including affogato) and some food items such as hot dogs. The staff is friendly, the place clean, and there is a little outdoor deck where you can enjoy your treats, chat, and look out at the pond. Every time, I enter The OutPost, I'm greeted by a warm smile, and a friendly, Hello. The owner, Paige, who is always around, has a staff of young ladies, who are always doing a great job, of providing, great coffee, hot chocolate, hot dogs/polish sausage, fresh homemade cookies, muffins, cakes, and conversations. I always am having a hotdog or polish, with my mustard. I just happened visit another business, the other day, and observed a bird house, made locally, of the OutPost, which is situated on a 4x4 post, outside, in the area provided to enjoying you lunch or coffees. I took a motorcycle ride today with Dave H. We wandered around Highway 89 north of Truckee and found our way into Graeagle. The Outpost was welcome sight and we pulled in for a quick break. The Outpost is a tiny little building, full of tasty hot and cold treats and drinks. All types of coffee's, teas and sodas. Along with bakery items, hot dogs, nachos, chips, ice cream and much more. This little coffee shop is well thought out and offers something for the entire family. Prices are super reasonable and the staff is friendly and helpful. Been coming to the outpost for over 5 years now and we still love it so much! The drinks are always consistent and delicious. During the summer months you can't go wrong with a snow cone either. They used to sell homemade dog treats that helped the local shelter too but I haven't seen those in awhile. The busier the town gets though, the harder it is I feel to get that small town customer service and that's because they're just PACKED nowadays! This cute little coffee shop is a little piece of heaven in Graeagle! I've gone here a few times while visiting on vacation and we have recently purchased a cabin here I will definitely be returning here much more! The owners are extremely polite and friendly completely despite other reviews which I find extremely hard to believe. All their drinks and food are very reasonably priced and their lattes are quite tasty! We found this place because the forest service instituted a ban on campstoves when we were camping at Lakes Basin. But we still needed our morning coffee, right? So we dropped by here after experiencing the lack of masks at their competitor down the road. The coffee is delicious, the owners' daughter (who is running the place while taking off a semester from college) was super friendly and accommodating, and maybe best of all, their outside seating was safely spaced, next to a gurgling stream and a lake, and the perfect location for a game of scrabble and hang-out. read more

Great cup of coffee! The mocha and Carmel frap are awesome! My hubby says they know how to make a real mocha! For the price, it was a crazy deal! Will be coming back!! The staff is very friendly, and efficient. He took great care in making each coffee! The decor of this tiny place is country and cute! Coffee is the best in town! There is tons of parking! The service is quick, so you will be in and out! There is a few small tables out front, and that's it. Don't plan on sitting. They have a few pastries, they looked fresh and tasty, but we didn't try one. They also offered hot dogs, but we were there at 9 am, and we arnt "hot dog into the morning" kinda people, but good to know for lunch! Hands down, solid place! Will come back. Great little hidden gem in Graeagle for a coffee on the road or for a walk around the lake. I ordered a decaf chai which I was a little hesitant to do because I didn't want to be the type of person who walks into a dive bar and orders a cosmo but they said that it was no problem and made it! My man ordered the special which was an eggnog coffee and loved it. It's a small place and not a lot of room to hang out inside but they get you in and out quick. Although the sun was poking out on this winter afternoon I'd love to return in the summer as it would be a cool place to hang out by the lake. read more

Graeagle Outpost is an awesome place. Not only do they rent out boats for the nearby Mill Pond, they make delicious drinks, hot and cold!! My fav is the Graeagle Mocha Frapp!! Excellent!! The best frapp I ever had!! They also sell delicious hot dogs, and many other little yummies. Get on over there, you won't be sorry. Often stop here for coffee when camping at Plumas Eureka State park. The coffee is strong they offer a beautiful view of the lake. No restrooms but the Chevron station next door has toilets. One can also order polish sausages or pastries if hungry, tons of parking. read more

What a cool little place next to the pond where you can grab some lite food, ice cream, coffee, and enjoy the view. It's easy to miss as you're driving by so keep an eye out. If you feel like braving the pond, you can rent floats and tubes here too. read more

Tom, the person primarily running the Outpost, should not be allowed to run a business. Not only does he use physical intimidation techniques to manipulate the kids working for him under the table but he also shattered one of the kids' cell phones and made the poor kid uncomfortable about asking for the money to get it replaced. He misleads the kids working for him about their hourly rate of pay and takes advantage of them by constantly changing his mind and backtracking on his word. He works them over 12 hours without giving them breaks or letting them end their shift. These poor kids have to get confrontational just to get their final paychecks when they finally quit. I plan to file a complaint with the Department of Labor, but in case that doesn't get any traction, I want to publicly out this place for their disgusting treatment and employment of minors under the table. Treating people poorly is unacceptable, but taking advantage of and bullying minors in a workplace is abysmal. Shame on you, Tom. read more

How sweet it is to find a wholesome, scenic, and entirely enjoyable eatery and cafe in bucolic Graeagle nestled in the Sierras 50 miles north of Truckee. Each summer we camp at Plumas-Eureka State Park which is camping absolutely as good as it gets (yelped separately). Graeagle is just 10 minutes from camp, and each trip down mountain for supplies or visiting surrounding treasures both environmental or cultural, passing to or through brings me to the finest espresso macchiato I've had ANYWHERE west of Italy, and that brings me to Starla, Diana, and Abbie, the affable, talented baristas who delighted me with their vivacious and personable ambiance, not to mention the macchiatos which are a vital component of this good life (our espresso corner at home is termed "The Altar" which is the first stop each morning and attests to the seriousness of my java critique). Oh, and the Outpost sits beside a lake where it rents boats and hosts quality music each Wednesday night outdoors. Thanks, ladies, for making these trips to Plumas-Eureka such a rich and varied experience, just what a vacation should be! read more

Stopped in for some ice cream with my wife and two kids on a sunday afternoon. Service was terrible. We entered the store and were the only customers in the store. There was no greeting from the server "Nancy". She did acknowledge us with the slightest of eye contact but never offered to serve us or take an order. She went about her business of organizing and cleaining for about 5 minutes as we stood at the counter. After 5 minutes she asks, "Did you decide yet?". She may have been having a bad day, but her attitude could have been much friendlier and more service oriented. We ordered ice cream..that was good but how does one screw up soft serve and sno-cones. We ate the ice cream on the patio, nice setting. After the ice cream my wife went back inside to purchase a water, only to be stopped as she witnessed "Nancy" being plain rude to another customer. Needless to say, poor experince because of lousy, unfriendly service . We will not return there and we will not recommend the Graeagle Outpost to anyone. read more
