Pass on the soft serve. Ice cream flavors: vanilla, chocolate or swirl. Had a sample and it taste off. I wouldn't recommend. Oreo blizzard eh I assume they used the vanilla soft serve. They enjoyed the Dr Pepper freeze. Parking lot just open gravel space. There's no tables to eat. Order at the window. Def a pick up/take out place. It's convenient and not a lot of other options since is a small town. Price is decent.

Stop by to this iconic location!

Cute little place! It's on a corner and parking can be a problem depending when you visit. I had stopped by on a Saturday hot afternoon and it was busy. Not much shade to hide from the blazing sun. There's food (fried foods, burgers and ice cream treats). I had gotten the milkshake. I chose to do a different flavor combo of blackberry and Oreos which was good. I mostly ordered it because I was curious if it would be good. Because it was busy, our service was short and to the point. They needed to turn our orders around quickly so they weren't very talkative. But this place is a must try whenever you're in the area!

This a cute place to eat when you're taking a break from the pond across the road. They have picnic tables outside for you to eat. The food was okay. The fish wasn't fishy. The fries were plump. I didn't care for the coleslaw. It was on the bland side. I enjoyed the strawberry milkshake. Friendly service.

For what it is, Graeagle Mountain is great. It's a roadside burger joint in a small town--I was just happy that they had a decent enough veggie burger because many small town joints do not even have vegetarian options. Their jalapeño poppers and ice cream cones were a nice way to end a fun backpacking trip.

    A line and slow service.

Stopped in for a shake after reading so many great reviews. We waited outside in the heat, in line, for 20 minutes. When we picked up our drinks they were terrible. The blackberry shake was all syrup and not much ice cream. We threw it away. The root beer freeze all root beer and hardly any ice cream. We saw several people walk away because of long wait. Disappointing. We won't be returning.

Old school venue, had throwback charm. On a trip down memory lane with a friend, we were thrilled that it's still there. We got soft serve cone-- yummy & generous servings.

Love the hometown feel concept. Food was decent and staff were professional and efficient. Get yourself a shake and enjoy the views.

This is a popular place as indicated by the line. Food was what you'd expect, but nothing special. If I come back it would probably be for the ice cream only, and that would be only if the line was short. Most if the outside tables are in the sun, and the inside tables were closed in mid-July 2021 when I visited.

Stopping at Frostee for Burgers and Fries (and Milkshakes!).

This is a great place to stop during a road trip for a good old-fashioned burger and fries lunch. Hearty, meaty, well-prepared burgers (moist and flavorful) and tasty fries. The milkshakes are really really good. Seating in the great outdoors amongst the forest trees.

We recently returned to the town of Graeagle for a short vacation. We had not been here since 2000, when we camped at nearby Plumas Eureka State Park, and remembered fond evenings with our boys at Graeagle Mountain Frostee, enjoying their ice cream and burgers (and avoiding camping grub!). We were delighted to find after 17 years Graeagle Mountain Frostee was as good as ever! We stopped here several times for both ice cream and dinners. Everything we had was great. Their chocolate/vanilla swirl ice cream cones were a wonderful blast from the past (and hard to find in the foodie Bay Area). For dinners we had their burgers, fried cod and Philly cheesesteak. Naturally, I needed to try their milkshakes. Both their chocolate and strawberry milkshakes were top-notch. The fruit milkshakes are made from real fruit, and this strawberry milkshake was the best I'd ever had. Other milkshake flavors available are: vanilla, pineapple, caramel, blueberry, butterscotch and Oreo. I really would've loved to try their blueberry if I had had the time. Prices are very reasonable and service was fairly quick, especially for the ice cream. An abundance of picnic tables on the sides and back offer a lot of seating, and indoor dining is available also. A great Frostie diner - hopefully we can return much sooner than last time!

    Chocolate malt, missing the malt.

Awesome fries, burger and shake. Plenty of seating outside. Not too expensive. Will definitely be back.

I had a veggie burger, and it wasn't the best I've had, in fact it was pretty dry.

As an avid baker/cook, I was wary of some of the products after reading some reviews on Yelp. After waiting in line for an hour, reviewing the online menu, then ordering a selection of goodies, I am here to tell you that this place is worth it. Granted I had to stand in line for an hour and there is no seating, but people in line were civil and friendly. No meltdowns. Nobody going "postal". If you want coffee, there is an excellent coffee shop a couple doors down. Many people in line were drinking coffee while waiting. Because I returned home right after purchasing my box of baked goods, I was able to re-heat the pastries, which I highly recommend, and enjoy them on the patio. Here's what I had: ham harissa red onion Parmesan croissant - reminded me of chorizo pistachio baklava morning bun - complex flavors of fruit and spice kale potato tomato onion cheddar cheese quiche - best quiche ever raspberry peach almond pie bar (gf and vegan) - very fruity chocolate chunk cookie - lots of chocolate passion fruit Basque cheesecake - creamy with a passion fruit topping Due to elevation, the croissant wasn't like other croissants I've had with their many layers, but I enjoyed the ham harissa nonetheless which reminded me of Mexican chorizo. Because there is a 70¢ charge per large box, the locals brought their own Tupperware to haul their treasures back home and maybe to reduce landfill. In addition to freeze-dried strawberry granola, dog treats are also sold here. Strategy for next time: Show up before 8am opening or closer to closing time 2pm (you risk product shortage) to avoid long wait times. Bring my own Tupperware to avoid extra charges. Apparently, July 4th weekend is the busiest day of the year...just my luck.

They did still have quiche available, though, and it ended up being a pleasant surprise. I had the ham and spinach quiche, and it was really good. We also ordered a BLAT, what I believe was a Caprese-style sandwich with pesto, and a couple of iced hazelnut oat milk coffees. The coffee was excellent. I don't like overly sweet coffee drinks, and these were perfectly balanced. The cafe is a little off the main road, so you have to make a quick detour, but it's worth it. Service was quick, and we had plenty of time to grab our food and still make our reservation at the river. I didn't get any pictures because we were rushing to get back on the road, but everything looked fresh and tasted great. Next time I'm in Tahoe, I'll definitely make it a point to get there earlier so I can finally try their breakfast.
