Kids mac and cheese. Tasted homemade.

Mixed experience with both highlights and head-scratchers. We tried to call ahead to make a reservation but no one answered the phone, so we walked over--it's a short stroll across the golf course from our vacation rental. When we arrived, four parties were already waiting (about 10 people total), and there was no host or hostess in sight. It was a bit of a free-for-all. Eventually, someone emerged and began seating the reservation-holders, while the rest of us were told to wait so the kitchen could "catch up." This was at 5:45pm on a Monday. Apparently Mondays are like their Fridays--understandable, but still: if you know it's your busiest day, maybe staff accordingly? We waited at the bar, where the bartender was kind and attentive. Kids had Shirley Temples, and my husband had a margarita that he described as one of the best he's had. We also ordered the bread and butter ($8): whole-wheat sourdough with garlic butter--very tasty and helped bridge the gap while we waited to be seated. After an hour, we were finally seated on the patio. It was a warm day, and the indoor area didn't seem to be air conditioned, so the fresh air was welcome--and the view was fantastic. Once seated, service picked up. Water and menus arrived after about 10 minutes. Here's how dinner shook out: * Fish & Chips (husband): Very good. * Kids' Mac & Cheese (8yo): Surprisingly excellent--tasted homemade. * Kids' Cheese Pizza + Caprese (12yo): Pizza was overly crusty, but the caprese was a hit. * Blue Cheese Wedge w/ Chicken (me): Unfortunately drowned in dressing. The chicken was dry, and the salad was so soaked I couldn't eat most of it. Dressing on the side would've made a big difference. * Food Timing: Everyone's food came out together--except mine (the salad), which arrived 5-10 minutes later. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, and the setting is great. But the overall experience felt disorganized and slow, and the prices are on the high side for what you get. That said, with better staffing and a few tweaks (like dressing on the side), this could have been a much better night out. TL;DR: Great view, good drinks, and some solid dishes--offset by long wait times, understaffing, and one poorly executed salad. Worth a visit if you're nearby and not in a rush, but come with patience (and maybe a reservation... if someone picks up).

Cheeseburger in paradise special in honor of Jimmy Buffet.

Sadly understaffed; clueless bartender; extremely poor, slow service. It's like no one knew who was doing what!

We left satisfied and happy to plan a return visit very soon. The food we had, crab cakes, clam chowder, chicken marsala, beef stroganoff and berry cobbler were all absolutely delicious! The espresso martini I had was unmatched. The staff, servers, chefs & owners were all friendly and welcoming. We look forward to returning often to one of our new favorite restaurants. If you're in the area don't hesitate to eat here. A+

A beautiful historic building from 1876 with all the rustic charm you'd expect , original hardwood floors , beautiful wood beams and a cozy little bar right when you walk in . The staff was super friendly, great customer service and hospitality, squeezed us in without a reservation! My wife and I enjoyed the Chicken Marsala and Beef Stroganoff each served with mashed potatoes and mixed veg. Both meals were cooked to perfection with a delicious sauce that should accompany each dish . 10/10 for me on both dishes, it would be hard to pick a favorite but I'd have to order the stroganoff again on my next visit ..... too good!! Both meals came with a delicious side salad - blue cheese dressing was house made and yummy! Fresh bread, two different kinds , both were spot on . Iron Door hit a home run with every single portion of our meal and the rustic country charm of this hidden gem was the icing on the cake!!! I almost don't want to share my secret........ but if you are visiting Graeagle, pass on all the dining options in Blairsden and Graeagle and head up the mountain to little ol Johnsville for a meal that is sure to satisfy! If you want to impress your friends the super cool hidden gem that only the locals know about, The Iron Door is THE place to go. Cheers!!

A Perfect 25th Anniversary Celebration!…read more My husband and I recently visited Fifty 44 with some friends to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary, and we were absolutely blown away! Whatever the new chef is doing in the kitchen, it is AMAZING. For our appetizers, we started with the Ahi Tacos and the Sweet Chili Wings. Both were outstanding. The tuna in the tacos was incredibly fresh and silky. The wings were perfectly crispy and had just the right amount of flavor without drowning in sauce--exactly how they should be! For our main courses, we ordered the Halibut and the Roasted Chicken. I can honestly say that the roasted chicken was the best I have ever had. My husband was equally thrilled with his halibut; he said it was cooked to absolute perfection, and the accompanying corn chowder was absolutely delicious. If you haven't been to Fifty 44 lately, you need to go check out the new chef's menu. A huge thank you to the team for making our anniversary dinner so special. We will definitely be back!

He is in a wheelchair and it was no problem at all getting in/out and sitting at a table. My daughter and I got the burger and it was very very delicious. The burger with fries and a couple beers will cost over $40. I know it's California but I just had a similar meal with 2 beers in another state and it was half the price. The service was OK. Definitely would expect a bit more professionalism from the staff at the price but they were friendly. Overall it was a nice experience and I would definitely come back!
