The food was disappointing. The waffle was hard. Took lots of syrup to make it edible. Hash browns were ok. Server was not very attentive. Located next to a hotel, this cafe can be bustling. I was visiting friends, so we decided to grab breakfast here before adventuring for the rest of the day. I ordered the chicken fried steak and eggs - I enjoyed it. The country gravy seemed to be out of the can without a ton of flavor, but I wasn't upset by this. It's a diner with diner food. Had eggs and pancakes. Owner was all over the place, checking in on guests, keeping tabs on servers and greeting patrons at the door. He is clearly super involved and hard working and I appreciate the attention to details. Bathroom was clean! read more

We went to have a nice lunch, and the service was horrible. We had two toddlers, and it was over an hour and a half before we got our meals. Then, when we finally received our meals, there were not two of the meals we ordered. Needless to say, we got our food to go, had cranky toddlers, and all they offered were crackers for them, and we will not be back. I will say, when we finally received the food, it was good. Lucci's is everything you could ever want in a small town cafe or diner! The establishment is clean. The service is good. And the food is really really good. I happened across Lucci's from some family that recommended it. My family raved about how large the portions are and they were not kidding! Great little diner place in Fort Scott. We had the chicken fried chicken and chicken fried steak and both were piping hot and delicious! The gravy was really good too, which is tough to do. They have a lot of seating and are prepared for large families or groups. Great place to dine. Our server was super friendly and attentive. I would definitely come back when driving through town! Good place for breakfast. Service was friendly. I replaced my hash browns for seasoned fries, which I should have just stuck with the hash browns because by the time I got my fries I ate my pancakes (not pictured) and was almost done with my omelette when they brought it out. My fries were straight out the fryer and overly cooked! So I didn't even eat it! My husband food was good a French toast sandwich with eggs and sausage I had to take a few bites lol. This place is new to us and we think it is outstanding in all ways. It is located in the Super 8 Motel in historic downtown Fort Scott. The restaurant has three different seating areas, including a very large and pretty dining room. Ate there twice last week! The food is fresh and homemade and presentation is well done. Food tastes great. The biscuits and gravy was the best I've ever had. They make fresh from the potato hash browns, not the packaged frozen kind. They have an incredible selection of food on the menu and on the specials for the day menu. They have a cooler of yummy-looking desserts: pies, cakes, cheesecake. The waiter and the owner are really personable, attentive, and accommodating. My sister had their spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs were huge! She said it was good, and it was. Paul and I ate off their breakfast menu and loved what we ordered. Our omelets were stuffed, but I do wish they had more cheese. That is about my only issue, but it is so minor. This is a very special place, our new local favorite, and we will be back as often as we can. read more

This rating isn't for the food, because we never got it. Came in at 12:30, was seated, and then we ordered. After waiting an hour and 45 minutes the waitress told us that our food was just now being prepared because a large party was just finished. This after I had seen no less than three different parties come in, be seated, order, get their food, and then leave. Do better. read more

By far one of the best chicken fried steaks I have had in a very long time. Lucci's Cafe is a great place with big portions.

We have eaten at this place three times on trips where we stop in Fort Kansas. For breakfast the food was okay but it is far from special. For dinner it is just a local diner with poor food. My husband had the chicken fried chicken, which was okay, it needed more salt and pepper. I had the beef and potatoes without bread. The beef was extremely tough and clearly very well done. Both of our meals had mashed potatoes and clearly something was wrong with them. The mashed potatoes tasted burned and they lacked seasoning. Both gravies clearly tasted like they were out of a can or a jar, far from anything special. This visit will be our last to eat here because the food was awful and the service was nothing special. The service was just okay, our server was too busy pushing us to take our order so he could talk to the other servers. After we got our food we didn't see him. So we won't be back. read more
