We were driving through Ft. Scott before continuing on to Kansas City so we knew we would not survive the drive without food in our systems. It had been very long and exhausting day so we felt Sonic would really hit the spot. We didn't wait that long for our food and it was pretty busy for a Sunday evening so our wait was average. Mackenzie was our carhop and I love how they share their names now at Sonic as it gives a welcoming experience to our short-lived time together. She was very polite and genuine which was appreciated. My wife and I ordered burgers with fries and we inhaled our food. The fries were not my favorite as there was a mixture of crispy and soggy ones, but they were edible. So after waiting for about 45 minutes I went inside to see if we had been forgotten about. I was greeted with attitude by an older gentleman. He then yells at a young girl who was working about order # blabla and there it is sitting on a table.....45 minutes old. He hands me the food, no apology for the wait or anything. No comment about being sorry for forgetting about us and leaving our food there to get cold. I asked for some ranch and barbecue. He looks at me and says in the rudest way possible that he would have to charge me for it and I would need to go wait back in line. At that point, I'd had enough and told him that's fine as long as I didn't have to wait 45 more minutes for the sauces. He threw a bunch of sauce in a bag and handed it to me. This is the only Sonic I have been to that charges my husband for no ice. I know it's not that big of a deal but Sonic in Nevada, Iola, Paola, and Osawatomie all DON'T charge for no ice. I spoke to a manager and apparently their "owner" is the one who is telling them to charge for it. Absolutely ridiculous and it's the only place I can get good Sweet Tea but my husband doesn't like watered down Diet Dr. Pepper. $1.00 for no ice? It's just ridiculous to me. read more

This sonic is very disappointing compared to others I've been to. Two days in a row my order was either messed up or unsatisfying. One day I ordered two drinks with two flavors each and both drinks were missing a flavor. The next day I ordered a Philly cheesesteak and there was hardly any meat or cheese sauce. The response time to get my order taken was longer than it should have been for how many cars were on the lot. The carhop that took my order was not friendly and did not introduce herself. An associate did not check back with me to see if there was anything I needed or if my order was alright. The manager came out and did not say a word, simply took my coupon out of my hand while I was ordering and walked away. I will not likely be returning to this location. read more

My wife and I are from out of town and were driving through when we spotted the Sonic, in Fort Scott, Kansas. We missed the entrance drive so I turned into the exit drive which was a wide double lane. We were able to turn around, make it back to the drive-thru lane order station. We had completed placing our order, when order taker Karen said, "Just so you know that is not the way you pull into Sonic. Just for next time." Well Karen, that was very rude! Needless to say, we turned out of line and left without our order. One would think, Karen would have been happy for the business, no matter how one arrived at the Sonic drive-thru. read more

Very nice people, but extremely slow. Even if there is no one in line, and you're the only one there and all you're ordering is a drink, it can still take several minutes. They have to speed it up. read more

Delicious as always! Food was fast. Hot dogs are a favorite of mine and my husband and the slushies are amazing on a hot day!

We are within walking distance. In the spring and summer the family will walk over there and eat on the porch where they have an ordering station and several tables. Food is always hot and fresh. read more
