Without a doubt, the worst Braum's I've ever been to. Air handling system wasn't doing its job, so the whole place smelled like a greasy stove. The burger I was served tasted like it had been doused in salt and thrown on a griddle that hadn't been cleaned since Eisenhower. The PA system must have been turned up to max volume to accommodate all the patrons who forgot their hearing aids. And the order staff had the personality of overcooked spaghetti. read more

The entire chain has really gone down the crapper since Old Man Braum went to the Big Dairy Farm in the Sky, but this location is the worst. The floors feel like they are waxed with soda and corn syrup, the kitchen has the orderliness of a landfill, and the place moves at the pace of the Titanic. The drive-thru should be renamed the drive-sit. There has to be a hole in the ozone layer above this joint from cars idling while waiting for the wrong order to come to them. read more

I stopped here on a recent road trip down to the SE Kansas area. Our first two choices were closed, which was surprising given it was lunch time on Sunday in a college town. The dine-in area here is pretty small, and on my visit it was filthy. It looked like two bus loads of toddlers had just eaten here and then finished off the meal by having a food fight. We found the cleanest table we could after ordering and wiped it off ourselves. I waited over 15 minutes for a fast food burger. After 10 minutes, I went up to ask for an update, thinking it had been forgotten about. The young manager looked like he couldn't have cared any less, and just said they were working on making fresh burgers. He split his time between the counter and hanging out at a table with a young woman and taking drinks from her drink. If your team is in the weeds and its taking this long to get food out, you should glove up and help them. Or maybe bus and clean some tables? Anything other than hang out with your girlfriend. When I finally received my burger, it looked like it had been dropped on the floor and then stepped on. The bun was smashed, the toppings were spilling out everywhere, and it just didn't look that good. Thankfully, it tasted way better than it looked. Love me some Braum's, but this location was quite the disappointment. My littles were hungry and we were on our way home, so I thought Braum's would be the perfect stop for quick burgers and ice cream. Well, when we got there the drive thru line was super long, so I decided to go in. It took over 30 minutes to get a junior cheeseburger, fries, an ice cream cone and a small malt. The drive thru line was definitely faster. Inside was your typical Braum's, but this one hasn't been updated yet. So sad about my experience and sad that this is the only location in town. read more

A few things wrong with this place: - for starters, I worked there for 3 days, the worst place I have ever worked. Mind you, I have a bachelor's in business administration and was actually excited to get a part time job that had the early morning hours I was wanting aside of my remote job. Coworkers are either autistic or just have speech problems, I don't really know. Can't understand a few of them and the others are just all around ADHD central. I needed help learning the register and someone was supposed to be shadowing me. Well they wernt. I got left to do drive without even knowing the registers and was supposed to take peoples orders, respond quickly, while trying to remember orders while trying to ring people out because it's automated so they answer with what they want before I was ever ready. On top of that, I got left up front and while I was struggling with that, there was people getting impatient at the registers in the restaurant. I got overwhelmed and started to get upset and the manager said "I opened and was on my own on day 3". She had nothing else to say. Not everyone learns the same and I like to be around people that want to be a "team" and that definitely wasn't what any of them wanted there. So yeah, never again. - and being an employee there for the little time that I was, quite embarrassing. I apologize for the time it takes and the disgusting things that are all sloppy and spilled over the sides that they hand out. This Braum's is FILTHY. No clean tables ever. Nothing is ever clean. I have no clue how they pass health department inspections. The work top that is behind the ice cream counter is covered in all sorts of food debris. Dead flies all over the window seals that and right next to the tables. read more

Went into Braums to buy some bread and frozen yogurt. The lady who checked me out in the grocery section was wonderful. Conversely, the food service was lacking in every way you can imagine. My friend and I wanted to get frozen yogurt and stood in front of the ice cream coolers for at least 10 minutes. Not one person acknowledged our presence, let alone waited on us. The ice cream here is really good, really creamy and it's a fun special treat when in this part of Kansas, because Braum's aren't in the KC metro area. The drive-thru is reallllllly slow though. On a Saturday night in a college town, I'm wondering why they haven't added another lane or had workers come outside to take orders, like Chick-fil-A does. It would surely speed up the process. I've also long pondered why so many drive-thrus have only one menu posted. It'd help to have other signs up so we can all look it over as we sit and wait. Don't ya think? Plus, the writing on Braum's menu signage is so small that I literally couldn't read it even when I squinted. This is with my contacts in! So I couldn't order until I got up to the window, which of course wasted more time. I'm guessing I'm not the only customer there who had this issue. Chronically short staffed, terrible parking lot layout. Expect 20+ minutes in drive thru line. The food and ice cream are great, just go in knowing you'll be there a long time. Since moving from Texas to Illinois, I have mourned my loss of a local Braums and my lack of access to year-round peppermint ice cream. (Most places sem to think I only want it at Christmas time. And I'm sorry but mint chip is NOT the same thing.) So when I came to visit friends at Pitt State, two stops at Braums were in order in two days. I got my ice cream, plus excellent cherry limeades. Yayyy! Knockin' a star, though, for spotty service. One day it was fine, one day we had the SURLIEST guy taking our order. (One of my friends used to work there and was like, "?!" at the 'tude.) Also, the drive-through is the SLOWEST you will ever experience (which is apparently the case at every Braum's in the country because it was true of the one in my old town too! Why?) Ahhh Braum's. I miss you so much down in Houston. And whenever I get back home to Kansas I ALWAYS have to hit up a Braum's. This time was no different. The place was super crowded on a Saturday night, which makes sense. Tons of families heading out for a burger or ice cream, or a burger and ice cream! Unfortunately the two tables that were unoccupied were dirty, but were okay after being wiped down (by us). The service was fine; the cashier took our order and was pleasant but I don't think he really wanted to be there. Of course when I was 19 or so, I didn't want to work on Saturday nights either but still. Suck it up, put on a smile, and do your job. The food was good. The burgers and chicken are always hot and fresh and HUGE. Seriously how do they expect you to eat ice cream afterwards when the portions are so bug? I mean, I do, but still, I am always stuffed after! But really, we come here for the ice cream. Because, well....ice cream! This is the some of the best ice cream ever...comparable to Blue Bell in Texas! There's no fancy add in; they don't mix it all together on the counter, or add gummy bears or chia seeds or what not. What they do do is serve you large portions of delicious, creamy ice cream. I always get the double dip cone for $1.99 and I swear it's really like 3 scoops! They also have sundaes, and shakes and malts, and it's all good. You order the food at one end of the counter and the ice cream at the other end..Usually we order food, then after go order ice cream. Or just go order ice crea, and forget about the food! They do have a lot of specials, but the prices are comparable to everyone else, I think. Especially for the quality of food. I do miss having Braum's in Houston, but really, in a way, with as much ice cream as I would probably consume if they were here, it's really a good thing! Love Braum's. Can't say anything bad about the food at any location. So I tend to focus on the service. That's what sets different Braum's apart in my eyes. This one isn't the worst service location I've been to (Salina), but it's not the best (Emporia.) As with most Braum's, the service is very slow. I'm generally willing to forget that, because the food is awesome, and the service tends to be friendly. In this case, it was mostly disinterested. We went twice in one day while in Pittsburg (lunch and dinner) and got a different group of employees, but they just seemed to be going through the motions. That said, their version of friendly is still 5 times better than what you'll find at most nearby national fast food chains. And, again, the food is awesome. read more

can never get my order right. for example tonight I got 2 large vanilla frozen yogurt for my dogs (was given smalls) large twist waffle come in a cup (didn't have the cone) and single dip m&m sunday (accidentally made a double but made sure to correct that) I could even hear the girl tell them to read the ticket and make it right. but yet still managed to mess everything else up. when I told the girl that the twist was suppose to be in a cone all she did was put a cone on top. when I finally got home and was able to eat my ice cream I almost choked not once not twice but three times on loose cherry stems that were mixed in the ice cream. I get people mess things up sometimes I worked in fast food for 7 years. but within the last 2 months the 4-5 times I've been there it's always messed up. so if you ever go here always make sure to check your stuff before leaving to get it corrected because 9 times out of 10 it's gonna be messed up. extremely frustrating and extremely disappointing. time to find a new ice cream place I guess. read more
