An option for a good hot meal at lunch that doesn't break the bank like many downtown eateries.

Food was awful. My husband and I were sick the rest of the day. Very limited seating.

My wife had a craving for Luby's on Sunday so we came here for lunch and really enjoyed our time…read morehere. You cannot go wrong with their fish and mac & cheese and that's exactly what she ordered. For her bread she ordered the yeast roll and man that was outstanding! I can believe we have been sleeping on these for so long. I was glad to see a plethora of sides I could order as a vegetarian and really enjoyed the mashed potatoes, rice, baked potato and cornbread. Their desserts were great and the service was impeccable, we will definitely be back.

Always welcome finding a lubys. They've had ups and downs the last few years but today,in…read moreAustin, they were up. I was greeted by a classic rock track playing Moody Blues overhead. Nice start. This place is cavernous and has a long well stocked food line to go with it. I found pretty much typical lubbys fare on display. Always quite a spread for a cafeteria. They have a smaller serving called a LuAnn platter. It's a reduced entree portion with two sides and bread. Always a bargain and more than enough. Today I got the 1/4 fried chicken white. It consisted of a perfectly fried breast wing piece. I added mashed potatoes and gravy and fried okra. When I ask for the diner roll the server ask, butter on it? As he reached for a brush in a clarified dish of butter,I let Out and enthusiastic," Yes please". And he brushed on a beautiful glaze of butter. Add ice tea for a sweltering Austin day refresh and you have a winner. These cafeterias are disappearing just as we need the value most. I recommend as soon as possible you... Go!

I wish they had one of these in Miami!!! Such a cool concept for an arcade…read more It's as noisy as any arcade but they do have seating area outside which is cool because they have swings as seats. Beers were nice and cold and the games are fairly priced. Parking is ample

Arcade bars are a glorious creation. To look at the classic concept of a pizzeria with an arcade…read moreand say, "What if it was 18+ after 9 pm and we brew our own beers and ciders?" is brilliant. Even more brilliant is making all the arcade machines free play, so when you pay the $12.99 to get in, you have the opportunity to play any game your heart desires. I drank two beers while at Cidercade, their Texas Blonde and their Pistolas Mexican Lager. Both were good and easy to drink. All the arcade games have nearby areas to place your drinks so you can lock in on the games as needed. The collection of games is great and varied, from pinball machines and Japanese rhythm games to classic arcade games like Q*bert, Donkey Kong, Tetris, and more. There are racing games, Guitar Hero Arcade, rail shooters, Pop-A-Shot, skee ball, and plenty of other options. I enjoy that most of the people moving around Cidercade feel pretty sophisticated and do not get too rowdy like at other bars. Everyone is there to have a good time and chill. All the games are clean, which is crazy knowing how much beer and how many drinks are being consumed around them. A little booze in your system and playing pinball is an amazing experience, and I cannot wait to go back. RIYL: The Y2K center but you were alive in the 2000s.

First off let me say I would have never know this place existed if a friend of mine who recently…read morestarted working there hadn't told me about it! which I'm glad he did, I mean seriously had it not been for him I never would of had any reason to be in the COA housing authority much less that there was a café/rest. there, none the less here's my take on the place. Upon entering I was a bit confused and a little leary looked like and was set up like school cafeteria but don't be deceived, it's totally not I was approached by a very professionally dressed and nice female who I assumed was the hostess/mgr. that explained the menu ordering system to me(later found out she was owner) anyway thanked her and went on about my business because I was hungry, checked out menu for day big chalk board with the "special" of the day and the fresh Entrees and soups of the day in addition to there usual menu items, burgers, sandwiches, ect. the entrees this day were a "smothered chicken breast" looked like a chicken marsella type dish (looked yummy) & a squash curry casserole which looked great also, but I opted for the fresh soup of day & salad bar, because the salad bar looked so great and was plenty of fresh ingredients & a great variety of items to make a wonderful salad and excellent choice of dressings also! and the soup OMG ! it was totally excellent !! the one I had don't remember the name of it but was a chicken soup with posale & cilantro in it big chunks of chicken and seasoned perfectly I loved it ! it was delicious I even purchased a second bowl it was so good the other soup was a potato&leak that looked excellent but didn't try, needless to say I was very satisfied with my lunch and would suggest to my other friends, kinda seems like a "weird" or strange place to eat inside the housing auth. bldg. but its great give it try if you're looking for some fresh good food, menu varies daily and they cater also please give their web site a look only open from 11a- 330 or 4 p but well worth trying! just my take on this not so well know place ! they do catering also!!

I couldn't get the "Join Waitlist" on Toasttab to work for the downtown location. It worked for other locations but not the one we wanted. So we waited about 15 minutes (not a huge deal) but why offer and even advertise it at the restaurant if it doesn't work? 2. When walking in to get on the waitlist, I was waiting behind someone who was being helped. Another person walked in behind me to also get on the list, and a second employee helped them first and skipped me. Again, not a big deal, but just not a great way to start, especially when I'd been annoyed with item 1 to even get on the list at all. Please attend the line and not the person pushing their way in. 3. The shrimp on my shrimp and grits were amazing and plentiful but I had almost no grits in that skillet. Maybe there should be a different serving vessel and they would be more present. Tasty but I had two bites with any significant amount of grit to shrimp ratio! Would I come back? Yes! None of the things above are deal breakers but just annoying for a first time patron. If it continues to happen, I'd reconsider my answer. But as almost everything here is gluten free, which is huge, it gives them a lot of grace with me! Even the gravy, which I had on the Cheeky Monkey was gf and sooooo good! Best thing I ate there!
