04.26.26 - Stopped by here today for a late lunch. The parking area was not too bad, looks like it may need some work, cracks in the concrete, and parking lot being at different elevations. Fortunate for me, I found a parking spot right by the front door. When i walked in, place is clean, and all the staff employees are very courteous, kind, and very very busy, working keeping up with the hustle and bustle. The only down fall was walking thru the line, some guests just could decide what they wanted. I ordered 1 1/2 Fried Fillet of Fish, extra Tartar Sauce, Fried Okra, Mac and Cheese, no bread, and an unsweet tea. Total came out to about $22. Once I found me a seat int he dinning area, the ambiance was clean, well lit, and amazingly peaceful, as the dinning room was about half full. A few minutes after I had sat down, a dining waitress came by and asked if I needed anything and left me some extra napkins. Good Job, good food, keep it up, see you all next time. read more

This establishment is AWESOME! I personally, enjoy coming here every Sunday to eat dinner with my family. It's nothing like having hot and tasty food being served to you with warmth smile. For dinner, I wanted Luby's Food!! I ordered the Luanne liver and onion plate with okra, mashed potatoes with cream gravy, and a wheat roll. It was hot, fresh and it tasted good. The customer service was friendly he listen and answered my questions. The ambience of the parking lot and drive-through area it was clean and neat. read more

The food is pretty good but it's pretty pricey. this is one of those places I would go every full blue moon.

Hope you like salt! You know Lubys! Pleasing the older generation with salt flavoring. This one is not bad though, parked in the front, got right in. The employees were helpful, however when I asked if they had any "gluten-free" desserts, she looked at me like I was an idiot, she had NO IDEA what gluten was. I don't judge, but if your serving food, you should know, especially since it is very important in peoples diet. Sad thing was, another employee said "the one on the end" it's sugar-free, I said is it gluten free? she said yes it's sugar free, sad..... I had to tell them both Gluten is pretty much Wheat in the basics and they were like ooooooooh. One was a cook, so I was worried. The cheeseburger steak, was lubys not bad quality. The chicken breast was juicy and full of flavor. The carrots were tasty, almost sweet, delicious. The squash was bad bad bad, tasted like canned/salt squash. The potato's were okay, really really salty. The mash potatoes were decent, I could eat them a lot. Not bad. Overall, I would stop at this Lubys again, they were really helpful and wanted to go out of there way to help out. read more

I ate at Lubys on January 2021 and I was so disappointed in the with the service I ordered catfish and it was cold and my mac and cheese was cold I went to talk to management and they said they could put it in the microwave to warm it up they had put out fresh hot food I paid for my good and I deserve to be getting a hot meal I would not ever eat here I also saw a roach on the floor I'm sure there's more. read more

There was a cockroach making its way through the buffet line. When I saw it, I told them they need to get it. Took them several minutes - MINUTES - to get someone to come to the customer side and he looked hesitant to do anything! I am not one to usually shy away from this kind of stuff but seriously, no comp, no apology, and barely an acknowledgement. I was sorely disappointed with the Luby's. Last minute decision for dinner and it was the right one. I came 30 minutes before closing and was able to get exactly what I wanted. The roast beef looked red and delicious. The server cut 3 pieces each of which were about a half inch thick. The crust was browned to perfection. I also selected the roasted red potatoes and cabbage. When I cut into my roast it wss so tender I almost didn't have to use a knife. It melted in my mouth as well. The taste was delicious. Hats off to the person who cooked that roast. The dining attendant was a sweetheart. She checked on me several times. When I had finished my meal she even refilled my take out cup with more tea. This was a great dining experience. read more

I've eaten here maybe 10 times and the food has always been good. Service is always fast as well.

DISGUSTING!!! I'm not only talking about the cleanliness of the entire place but of the staff, the restrooms and the freshness of the food. My sister loves the Luby's in Clear Lake and so we figured we'd give the one in Baytown a shot. (Always trust your instincts, avoid most restaurants in Baytown). Don't get your panties in a twist. I did say MOST. Upon walking in, you stand in a very long line and are supposed to choose a tray. The trays still had food on them from previous guests which showed me that they were not actually washed just "hosed down". Yuck. The line was incredibly long and moved slow because they only had one person serving food while two other people stood around monitoring. We almost left. Almost. There were a lot of fried, greasy options such as fried chicken, breaded fish, macaroni and cheese, hamburger steak, chicken fried steak, chicken fingers, etc and then some healthier options like tilapia, asparagus, side salads, green beans, corn, spinach, grilled fish and baked chicken. I did like that they incorporated some healthier options but they all looked like they had been sitting under a heat lamp for a few hours. My macaroni and cheese side dish was actually pretty good but the baked chicken was as dry as a bone. The corn was way too salty and the green beans were decent. They were straight from a can, but what did I expect? I hated the breaded fish. It had some sort of breaded walnut topping that was just awful. I also found a hair about halfway through my food and I had to stop eating entirely. There goes the whole hair net idea. Now to the worst part...the cleanliness or lack thereof. There is what appears to be mold growing from the vents above the tables, the bathrooms were out of toilet paper and were absolutely filthy, the carpets were crusty (seriously, carpet in a restaurant?), the walls had greasy fingerprints and pieces of skin from chicken stuck to it, our table was sticky, and it just smelled. I called and complained to corporate but the woman didn't sound like she gave a crap. We will see if anything changes. Overall, this place is horrible. Will not be back. read more

I mostly use the drive through so I can't comment on the service inside. Three adjectives I would use to describe their food are bland,stale,and cold. I would say their food is only slightly better than a frozen dinner and about the same as hospital food, and you need to check your order before you drive off because there's a 50/50 chance they left something out. We don't go to Luby's much - I think the last time was 2 or three years ago - but we had to make an ER visit during our weekend trip to Baytown and were starving when we came out so we headed to Luby's across the street. I always feel like I bring down the average age in the place and this visit was no different. But dang, the food is good! I had baked tilapia, mashed potatoes, green beans, wheat roll, salad....yes, I was really hungry. It's just good home cooking which sometimes really hits the spot when you've been eating fast food and snacks all weekend. However, the main reason I would recommend this Luby's is the great service. I guess they have added the server who strolls the dining room to get your drink refills, napkins, hot sauce, etc. She (Jennifer) was so friendly and gives this Luby's an extra star from me! read more

The staff needs a personal lesson in hygiene. I see dirty uniforms, long hair hang down and inform topes covered in dandruff. Which we all Know means we are eating it!!!! I had never been to Lubys, but a friend has been here often. The atmosphere is friendly and the food surprisingly really goo. I had blacked chickecn and shrimp, though a little dry and very large piece of meat, (PROTEIN!!!), AND TASTY (though personally I like spicier). Server friendly and attentive, overall clean and airy. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday but I was alone this year. I thought I'd cheer up by at least getting some turkey dinner. This place made the whole day worse. I got a to go order knowing There would be a wait but it wasn't even for long. When I got home not only did I feel cheated the only edible thing was the macaroni. There was one piece of fake turkey covering shreds to make it look full. Even worse still, there was a ridiculously small amount of stuffing.. it would've been better if they had just forgot it all together. read more

Place is old and smells like gym socks! Food is subpar and the utensils/plates and hundred year-old cloth napkins are filthy. Last time I was forced to eat there by my family I found a hair weave in the parking lot. Probably belonged to a line cook that had a late lunch tussle with her boyfriend. One star is being generous with this location. The place is old, smells like mold and is filthy! My father went to the restroom and said there was a trail of feces from the inside of the men's room to the dining room. Someone had gone to the bathroom on the floor and trailed it out to the dining room. There is a server there that has dandruff all over the shoulders of his black shirt and a female server that dips her dirty, long fingernails in your serving dish when she is portioning your food. I tried to find a city health score on this place and can not find it. This Luby's location needs to be bulldozed and rebuilt. Then again, this is dirty, nasty, rathole Baytown. read more

Never trust the signs in front of this Luby's. We stopped by because of the menu display. After going in we saw that it was not a selection. After speaking with management we learned this signage represented their menu from a few days earlier. Management seemed unconcerned. We chose to go elsewhere. read more

This has become my favorite place to go when I want a great meal to sit at home and eat while watching my TV. The employees are super nice and the manager is wonderful. I can't eat onions and liver comes with onions there. But when I ask them if they could make me some without they are so nice to me to fix me fresh liver without them.
