With no prior warning, my Missus' SUV made a sound like a dying rhinoceros and refused to start. Our motor club dispatched a tow truck to the strip mall where she was marooned. The driver/mechanic (who, by then, looked like a knight in shining armor) identified the problem right away: A dead battery. Duh. By the time I arrived the motor was purring once again, but we needed a new battery asap. It was after 4 PM and auto repair shops would be closing soon. Our rescuer called his shop (Loyola Service) to confirm that they had the type of battery we needed. We took his advice and drove to Glenview (20 minutes away). The staff at Loyola, anticipating our arrival, was very friendly and accommodating. A mechanic promptly brought our SUV into the shop. The customer waiting area wasn't exactly the Ritz Carlton, but it was stocked with a coffee maker, snacks, and a wide-screen TV. Before we could settle in, our car was ready and the price was very reasonable. A manager took the time to explain the terms of the warranty and answer questions about the impressive array of services they offer. Our vehicle is still covered by a manufacturer's warranty, but once we do need post-warranty work, we will definitely be returning to Loyola Service. read more

They over charge you for replacing any parts, they refused to show me the receipt to see how much it actually cost? The part they replaced worth 120$ while they charged me over 350$.. there is no integrity.. they over charge for inspection while I didn't ask for vehicle inspection and the problem was obvious!! but they still charged me. Such additional cost should be part of labor's coast labor cost is double charged comparing to any another service center in the area, they charged me over $500 for replacing one part that cost no mor then 150/200$ at any other service center! Staff at from desk not friendly at all and they refuse to share the warranty of the part they fixed.. unfortunately they disappointed me with their attitude and abusing the rules and regulations for customers rights. read more

I was stranded in Morton Grove late in the afternoon on Easter Sunday when my car made a tremendous noise whiling shaking and rattling. I thought I would be buying a new car that week! AAA sent a towing company who recommended Loyola Service. Kyle at Loyola Service called me the following day-and informed me that the drive axle had broken. Two days later the drive axle was repaired, additional maintenance was completed and the car was ready to be picked up! The repairs were done at a very reasonable price. I was referred here by the driver who towed my vehicle after being stranded on the way to work. He had me convinced that Loyola would be a lot cheaper than having the repairs done at the dealership. Well after having the repairs done I found out the dealership would have been about $100 less than what Loyola charged me and likely far superior workmanship. But wait....there's more Two days after the repair (fuel pump replacement) was completed, I was left stranded once again. Being late at night and close to home, I had it towed to my house where I assessed the problem myself. After locating the fuel pump, it was apparent that Loyola failed to secure the tabs that hold the fuel line into the pump. But wait...there's more Apparently the mechanics are not competent enough to remove the plastic engine compartment covers without snapping them in half. I found one plastic cover duck taped together and another cover flying around the engine compartment because they had snapped the tabs off. Additionally, there were two deep scratches on the roof and on top of the trunk lid that matched the circumference of the fuel pump filter located on the bottom of the pump. It was obvious the mechanics had used my precious clear coat as a work bench. It'll be a cold day hell before I ever take anything back to that place read more

This review is in reference to the u-haul portion of the business. I'll start with the phone call i made to reserve the u-haul. A: Why can i hear your music playing in the background? Turn your shit down and be professional. B: Why the fuck am i listening to you rap and sing along with the song over the phone while you look up stuff while you are talking to me? Dont fucking sing/rap in the customers ear. Coming in to get my reserved truck was just fine. Associate did well explaining to me the rules and regs and even convinced me to get the insurance, which i almost never do. Probably worse for me cuz i had to spend more money but smart move on the business end. Was not very professional but wasn't rude and 'shot the shit' for a minute while ringing me out. On the drop off, no one at the desk, waited for 15min, went outside and back in. That kind of annoyed me because i am not familiar with the process so i didn't know if i would be penalized for just leaving the truck there with the keys on the desk. Summed up realistically, learn your phone professionalism. None of this will make me go out of my way to not use this place if needed but i also wont go out of my way to go here. read more

I contracted with Loyola to upgrade my car. Almost a year later and over $12,000 dollars, my car is in worst shape then before I brought it in. All that time and I had very little response from them no matter how many times I contacted them. I brought it back five times before I went elsewhere. The new place found several improperly installed parts that led to more issues. I reached out to them to work out a solution and they didn't even have the decency to call me back to work out a solution. Hmm, no surprise. l have witnessed the worse customer service and car service. My friend went to get her car checked out due to a sound on the right side of her car. She paid $450 a week ago to get her tire rod replaced. Now her car is having issues on the left front side and now they are telling her she needs to $800 to replace her struts and springs a week later. Now after leaving the shop and getting quoted the tire on the left side is now touching the car., which makes the car undriveable .The staff didnt show any empathy or try to understand the customer point of view. He was cold as ice. He continued to respond with excuses. We will be calling back to speak to Manager Alex. l would advise you to get an 2nd opinion when going to this shop and also price the parts and average cost for labor cause that $800 quote smh. read more

After paying $1200 to get my AC fixed my car started leaking from the tubing. the boy at the front desk told me it's my fault. They charged me another $700 in labor to replace $60 in tubing instead of replacing them the first time around since they had already touched them. I paid nearly $2000 for a service that should have only happened once. Then when I went back to get my car I had to wait for over fifteen minutes even though I was the only customer in the shop. After all the run around and terrible customer service, I said "may I please have my car keys" and the same boy at the desk shot back at me, "I'm on the phone!" I will never be back to this place. Today was my second time using Loyola Service for repairs on my Jeep and both experiences were great. Kyle has been extremely helpful and kind every time. Prices are reasonable too. I really appreciate that they made an effort to take care of a few repairs in only about a day in a half due to me needing my Jeep to commute to work. Kyle is honest and doesn't try to screw you over - he tells you what is urgent to repair and what can wait if you're on a budget. We had brought our 2005 Honda Odyssey there in September, and received good service, so brought it again this week for a new catalytic converter. That was done quickly, as far as I can tell, but it was returned to me with the VSA system not working. They insisted I had brought it to them that way, which I hadn't, and said they had taken photographs of the dashboard upon arrival, which they didn't share. Nor did they explain why their supposed inspection failed to detect the VSA not working. My questions and complaints were met with an odd indifference, and I would not go back there. read more

I and many members of my family have been long time customers of Loyola Service but was recently treated quite rudely by the owner of the business. Long story short - one of their employees ordered an extra part when repairing my car, charged me for it, offered to take it back once I told him I had no use for it and couldn't otherwise resell it and credit my account. I called in advance to schedule my next service appointment and when I showed up to return the part and service my car less than an hour later the owner accused me of lying and refused to honor the arrangement. used their services for a u-haul truck. kept it two days. paid 100 cash in advance. was owed 8 dollars and some change back. never asked for my change back. never received a call for my change. two months later , i received a bill from a collection agency saying i owe loyola service 121 dollars and some change? not true. they were paid. so i call loyola, talked to some young, dumb punk on the phone who is unprofessional and as dumb as a box of rocks. he tells me u-haul never got back to them regrding the matter and its my fault and i need to contact them .i tell him did you ever think about calling u-haul back until you do talk to someone? at that point, the idiot hangs up on me. so now im dealing with their mess by myself. and its ruining my credit score. time for me to sue loyola service for this mistake costing me a lower score of my credit rating. do not use them. they are unprofessional and rude. stupid also. and Reiny is the owner and i never received a call form him ever, nor did i get an apology from anyone. the people i spoke with on the 29th of september are:alex and tony. idiots in my book!!! so now its friday, october 10th 2014. (which i most certainly never will after this incident). i had called loyola twice yesterday about the bogus 121 dollars they charged my friend for us renting a u haul truck. we pre-paid 100 dollars in advance. but was charged 2 months later 121 and change. which happened to go to collections on my friends name since the truck was in her name. they never even contacted either one of us regarding this matter before collections. so i had to call them yesterday to see if they got their mess cleared up. so the young punk on the phone hangs up on me. how am i supposed to clear this up and clear my friends credit if i cant speak to the business that charged her? well, i guess i cant. so thats how they do business. they falsely charge you, a second time. then when you try to clear up the mess they made, they hang up on you and call the police like sissy #itches!? REALLY?. so thankfully i contacted U-Haul at the 1-800 number and they filed a claim for the bogus charge of 121 dollars. and they are getting back to me. first loyola said we had the truck for a week. not true, 2 days only. then the u-haul 1-800 rep, said, it said in the files we had it for 3 days? not true either. Loyola does not know what the heck their doing over there. do not use them. i didnt even hear from the owner Reiny? where is he? and they used to do just auto mechanics, guess their business is suffering so they took on renting u-hauls. now i see why they are suffering. they do not know how to treat customers and are not professional and SCAM you by getting more money out of you by charging you for something you do not owe.
