I insisted that the team to STOP touching my car due to the unprofessional manner by the mechanic. They refused and kept going....it was HORRIBLE. I love my regular guy back in Philly and he had let me know last time I went in I needed to get the brakes replaced soon, when I asked for a quote he said it would be about $200. I'll be driving back to Philly and need to get that taken care of before that long drive. Before I even brought my car in to Hillerichs I explained what work I needed done and asked for a quote which they would not provide for me. Red flag number one. I scheduled a time to bring my car in for the brake replacement and oil change. A few hours later they called me with a laundry list of other "issues" I should get fixed, none of which my regular mechanic had brought up. Red flag number two. They then told me that it was going to cost $450 to replace just my front brake pads plus an extra $200 to clean some rust off the back brake pads (the were elusive and not helpful in teaching me when I asked for an explanation of the danger of this rust). A simple search on groupon reveals that there are a myriad of other mechanics within a 30 mile radius that will replace front brakes for around $200. Red flag number three. I literally laughed and told them no way. I asked how much the oil change would be ($40) and then they asked ME what oil my car uses. Maybe I should be a more informed car owner but surely the mechanic should know what kind of oil to use. After all this it took them a full day to perform the oil change. When I did go to pick up my car I was hit with a $40 "inspection fee". On the very bill they handed with me, they wrote "customer says brake pads are worn down and also needs oil change." In the "inspection notes" they wrote (not exact quote) "brake pads are worn down, rear brake oads are rusted, oil change needs to be done." So they charged me $40 for me to tell them what was wrong with my car. Huge waste, will not be returning.

I came from having experience with high prices from Midas and was immediately comforted with the down to earth staff and reasonable prices. I appreciate that they will always take my car and look at it to tell me the diagnosis rather quickly. However during 2022-2023 I felt like they overestimated the repairs and charged way too much. I feel like they no longer care about the customers best interest, they will flatly ask a repair cost that's double the cost of the car and act like they don't care if you can't afford it. Everything to them is "necessary". I feel like they aren't real anymore. Also the repair quality itself has gone down as my control arm all of a sudden "failed". I have a 17 year old car that is 150k miles. I am no stranger to getting it repaired. I believe that a car that is taken care of will take care of you. Where I take it matters, and unfortunately I no longer can rationalize taking it here. It's disappointing to spend that much money at a shop and for them not to even remember you. I'm not sure what management is doing but it is not the same shop it was just a few years ago.

This is my first time ever feeling the need to give a business a review. I took my car in to get…read morethe power steering lines replaced. I picked up my car right before closing. The next morning I noticed a bracket sticking out the top of my hood. To my surprise it was a bracket that holds down the power steering lines. After realizing they forgot to reinstall it, I took a closer look around where the work was performed. The front right wheel well/bumper was missing a clip and flapping in the wind. There is also a splash bracket missing. All these items are parts that had to be removed in order to put the new power steering lines in. I fixed the rest of the issues myself. When I called to ask the manager if they had the missing bracket his response was "we have master mechanics here and any bracket that we take off we put back on." Well attached are the photos... I sent an email as well to see if they had the missing bracket but no response. My power steering does work fine, but everything else being wrong/missing doesn't give me peace of mind. Based on other reviews this family business, with a good reputation, was sold and a lot of the good mechanics left. I wish I had read that before taking my car there. Edited based on owners response below: You can see the two circled bolts where the missing bracket was. About 1 inch above where the bracket was is the power steering lines that were replaced. By saying "You emailed pictures of the bracket and it is not in the area we worked on" is clearly not true. It 100% needs to be removed to access the lines. It just goes to show this place will not take any blame for anything and is dishonest. I never received a call/email back after I emailed the photos. Take my car back to get looked at? No thank you. I fixed all the incorrect work myself. It's not even about the missing bracket, I already replaced it. The company's response and how they handled this situation goes to show how they are unapologetic and constantly deny something possibly could have gone missing.

This particular shop is also part of Costco's network of auto service providers (besides selling and installing tires which Costco does at its own Tire Centers) and that is what directed me here. That and knowing they would be more economical than having a dealer do the brake work. They do good and reliable and guaranteed work and while they are not "cheap", but rather reasonable, you do get a 15% discount based on being a Costco member. You need an authorization number from Costco via their website to get that discount. They do a lot of the usual auto shop services but most of their Costco referral business is admittedly for wheel alignments (which I also had done) which Costco Tire Centers don't do, but often recommends after their tire work. I really liked the professionalism and friendliness I experienced here. Nice written reports with photos are also provided on all of the work btw. Big thumbs up and thank you Matt and Dave! ps - There is a 3% credit card fee and the auto repair bills are not insignificant.
