Short story: 10/10 experience. Long story: Damaged sunroof in VW Atlas resulted in 1" of standing water inside the car when we returned from vacation. Wilmette Auto Body fixed the sunroof and then referred me to Brothers Auto Upholstery to fix the carpet/padding/mold issue. While Brothers had the car he realized water was still getting in--I called Wilmette Auto Body back and they 1) called Brothers directly to discuss 2) went into the city to pick-up the car to bring back to assess 3) confirmed the sunroof was not to blame 4) found a different clogged drain causing the issue 5) brought my car back to Brothers...all with only one phone call from me! They made a frustrating situation way more manageable! read more

it is the second time that i have come to ask for a possible repair of the trunk of my car. I had hit and run collision, after that my trunk would not close. As i was informed, it was dangerous to operate a car where the trunk could jump up at any moment. So, I stopped driving. But I need my car. Several days ado I went to see Dean Fields, the manager of this auto body shop. He closed the trunk, showed me how to do it (which I was scared to do) and did. not charge for the service. Today after my children tried to use the same trick to. close the trunk, they were unable to do it. I had to approach Dean. Fields again and he did close my trunk and did not charge me again. Isn't he a Good Samaritan, or what? Grateful, grateful, grateful to you Dean. I noticed that the shop is very clean, well organized and everyone working there seemed joyful and happy. Wilmette Auto Body is the best body shop I've worked with. I came in with a theft recovery claim and Dean's team, especially Nick and Sabrina, guided me through every step. They were transparent, kept me updated, and I always knew exactly what was being done to my car. What impressed me most is their honesty. Horrible experience. First, they gave me a quote of $3k higher than when the insurance company called to get their quote. Then, the car's DC to DC converter died while it was there... no idea if this was their fault or not, although there was no issues when I had it... the problem was there was zero communication whatsoever until I finally asked for a status update. I requested an estimate for some modest scratches on the door. The positive was I received a quick estimate. The negative was the ridiculously exorbitant cost. They quoted almost $2,000 and 5 days for the repair. I got the work done at Luxury Auto in Arlington Heights for $400 and it was completed in ONE day. The work was excellent. OK so I've had a few instances where I've had some dings or small accidents with my SUV over the last five years. This is the second time I took my car to Wilmette Auto Body for them to do some minor body work. They are following Covid protocol and Dean was amazing as always! Two experiences now with Wilmette Auto Body. Both times I wished that more businesses had their level of customer service. Great communication, fair prices, fast service. We had an au pair get into an accident (everyone was ok) and needed some big repairs. Wilmette Auto Body worked with our insurance company and just handled everything from start to finish keeping us in the loop every step. Recently I had an issue with the same car having a minor issue with the engine cover underneath and we needed to get it fixed before turning in our car since its a lease. We dropped it off and they fixed it same day. Since it ended up being minor they decided to not charge us. Overly generous. It's rare you get such a solid car repair place. read more

After getting rear ended on a rainy day, i hurried over to yelp to find a reliable body shop that could fix my beloved car. I came across Wilmette auto body and gave them a call, not sure how to handle the situation. Everyone at this location is so incredibly patient and reliable. They got me in contact with a towing service to drop off my car at the shop after they closed, and Sabrina was AMAZING at keeping me updated and reassured during what couldve been such a stressful time. I was constantly updated on the damages and the charges, and i didnt have to contact my insurance company for much because Sabrina handled it all for me!! Even when the repairs went a little past my rental return date, Sabrina contacted the rental office for me and had the rental extended. I didnt even have to worry about picking the car up because literally everything from start to finish was handled for me. The repairs were flawless and my car was so clean when I came to pick it up. Sabrina also let me know what to expect for the next couple days and to call if I had further concerns. It's a small shop located on Lake Avenue that's been in business over 20 years and they are always busy. Dean in the office was just as pleasant as can be. We don't let anyone but Wilmette Auto Body touch our cars. They always look for a way to save our money instead of how to maximize their own income and after they've repaired them the cars always come out looking like they just rolled out of the showroom. Cannot say enough good things regarding Sabrina and Glen. Had two vehicles worked on here (one vehicle repaired by a body shop in Highland Park previously). The Acura MDX had front end damage (the 2nd time repaired by Wilmette) and a couple years later the hood started rusting - a common issue on the MDX upon research. I brought it back to Wilmette Autobody because I thought they were the ones who had replaced the hood and it turns out that they hadn't. It had been replaced previously at the shop in HP but Wilmette HAD repainted it as part of the rest of the work done. So the other body shop was responsible for replacing it -warrantied. The body shop in HP did in fact replace it BUT what was extremely impressive was the commitment and integrity Glen at Wilmette showed. When I dropped by initially, regarding the issue, Glen (the owner) said he'd replace (at cost) the hood and have it painted at no cost. It was not his responsibility but it's that kind of CS that brings me back and allows me to recommend them highly (in conjunction with the excellent work they've done). To shorten this review, I also replaced our third car and bought a new roadster. They did an excellent job fixing some minor parking lot issues that occurred within months of buying it, as well as a little bit of custom work. Won't go anywhere else. But hopefully we won't end up here a lot :-). read more

Excellent! Couldn't have been better service, scheduling and providing a reasonable quote. I took my car to the dealership body shop for a quote, they told me to replace the entire side of my car, costing over $1,000. When I took my car to Wilmette Auto Body, they said this was overkill and only needed a minor repair costing me $140.00. Clearly, I appreciate their honesty. Scheduling was easy, they were ready to take my car on time and had it ready 2 hours before they said they would. I will recommend this shop to as many people as possible. read more
