As i was informed, it was dangerous to operate a car where the trunk could jump up at any moment. So, I stopped driving. But I need my car. Several days ado I went to see Dean Fields, the manager of this auto body shop. He closed the trunk, showed me how to do it (which I was scared to do) and did. not charge for the service. Today after my children tried to use the same trick to. close the trunk, they were unable to do it. I had to approach Dean. Fields again and he did close my trunk and did not charge me again. Isn't he a Good Samaritan, or what? Grateful, grateful, grateful to you Dean. I noticed that the shop is very clean, well organized and everyone working there seemed joyful and happy. It is a good place to have your car fixed!

Rude. Unable to answer basic questions. A "quick drop off" with a "five minute wait for a rental…read morecar" turned into an hour of confusion, incompetence and personal attack. I was pushed to this location by the lincolnwood location. i took my car there for an assesment on a different day. when asked about why i was dropping the car off, i said "it should all be in the assesment from the previous location. they told me that they arent affiliated and that the process would happen again because they don't share information for some reason. they then said my car was going to another shop on division because this location was too busy for the next three weeks. they i was asked to sign documents for the work at the division shop that couldn't be done at rockwell. when i questioned how division would get the info from rockwell, when rockwell couldn't get the info from lincolnwood, they called me "difficult" and told me i could go elsewere if i didn't like it. i was speaking with the person at the front desk, and when she couldn't answer questions with anything other than "that's not my responsibility" i was verbally attacked by three beefy dudes from the desks behind that maybe need to tone down their testosterone treatments. they offered no help, but instead threats. they talked over me, shouted me down and told me I was the one that needed to calm down. I was verbally attacked by three men and a woman at the same time because none of them could answer my questions, then was tone policed by one til he was tired out finally done yelling at me. All this and they arent even going to fix my car at this location. I could've dropped the car at the original location (which was far more courteous and knowledgeable) if you need to take a car to crash champions, DO NOT take it to this location. Will update when damages are fixed. UPDATE: the entire experience at the rockwell location was so poorly handled by everyone involved, i decided to not let them service my vehicle. do not go here if you can avoid it. they are rude and attack as a group when they feel irritated.

When I arrived the staff was efficient and helpful. During the repairs they kept me in the loop every step of the way. Due to weather, I was running late when picking up my car. Not only was my car fixed but it also came back cleaner than it went in.

I have always been a believer that honest mechanics are few and far between. I moved to Evanston…read morerecently and have been in need of a mechanic because of a loud noise when accelerating and tires were worn down. I spoke to a few shops and went to Sam's because of the discussion we had and how respectful Mo was. I ended up paying a fraction (literally 10%) of what a couple other shops had estimated for me. On top of that, he worked with me to work around my schedule. As long as I live in Evanston (or are nearby), I will be going to Sam's to see Mo and team. (Posted this on Google Reviews as well because how much I appreciate the shop!).

I took my car to this shop after my airbag was stolen because they were one of the few places open…read moreon a Saturday that claimed they could handle the repair. They had decent reviews online, so I gave them a chance. Unfortunately, this turned into one of the worst repair experiences I've ever had. Right away, Sunny tried convincing me to include unrelated scratches and dents in the insurance claim and suggested I tell insurance they were caused by the vandalism. I refused and only authorized repairs related to the theft. The shop has signs everywhere about $175/day storage fees. When I specifically asked about them at drop-off, I was told no storage fees would apply because my car was being repaired. That turned out to be false. What they don't clearly tell you is that they may start charging storage fees while waiting for parts, even when delays are outside your control. In my case, they knew from day one that airbags were on backorder due to widespread thefts and recalls. Despite that, they later claimed they "had no idea" parts would take so long and suddenly tried billing over $4,000 in storage fees. At no point did they notify me that storage charges had started accumulating. I only found out after they tried billing my insurance company. When insurance refused to pay, the shop told me I would have to pay and "maybe" get reimbursed later. Communication was terrible throughout the process. I constantly had to chase them for updates through ignored texts and repeated phone calls. I dealt mostly with Sunny and AJ, but neither seemed to know the full status of my repairs. The final straw was when they claimed my car needed dealership recalibration after the airbag replacement because dashboard warning lights were on. They insisted this was absolutely necessary and said the dealership quote was around $1,250. They even texted me saying my car had already been dropped off at the dealership. Three days later, after I followed up again, I learned they had never actually taken the car there. Suddenly the quote had "changed" and they were supposedly calling around for better prices. None of this was communicated proactively. At that point, I picked up my car because I no longer trusted them. They tried hard to convince me not to take it, saying the vehicle was unsafe to drive because of the warning lights. They also refused to release the car unless I paid several days of storage fees. Ironically, less than five minutes after leaving the shop, every warning light on my dashboard turned off. I then contacted multiple dealerships myself and physically brought the car to two. Every dealership told me the airbag module did NOT need recalibration. So this shop was attempting to keep my car longer and push insurance to approve a repair that apparently wasn't even necessary. To make matters worse, the detailing work my insurance paid for was sloppy. There was still glass inside the vehicle after pickup, and they tried charging insurance to replace an interior door panel for "water staining" instead of simply cleaning it. I cleaned it myself. Bottom line: avoid this shop if you value transparency, communication, or honesty. My experience involved constant delays, poor communication, and threats of excessive storage fees while they tried to maximize insurance payouts.

From the moment you walk in, you can tell this isn't your typical auto shop. They take the time to explain everything clearly, tell you what actually needs to be done (and what doesn't), and treat you like a person--not just another ticket. What really sets them apart is their honesty and consistency. You never feel upsold, pressured, or in the dark. Just straightforward, high-quality work at fair prices--every single time. And somehow, they always find a way to come through when you need them most, even when they're busy. They've been a trusted name in the Evanston area for decades, and it shows in the way they operate and the loyalty they've built with customers. It's heartening to know there are still honest mechanics and he's a really nice guy besides. We had him change our oil!
