I had an exceptional visit recently. Your staff was wonderful, and the Doctor I met went above and beyond. I especially appreciated her highly detailed and clear explanations regarding the improvement and changes in my eye health. The Doctor explained that it seemed to have slightly improved rather than worsening in any way and agreed that I didn't seem to have any other issues at the moment, which is what my primary care physician felt as well last January. Though I originally hoped to see Dr. Lowinger, himself, as he has provided excellent care to me for approximately 20 years now, I couldn't have asked for better care. I would award them 10 stars on a scale of 1 to 10 if I could. Thank you for the consistently high standards and exceptional visual results. I really can't recommend his office highly enough. There is a reason I have been returning to Dr Lowingers office for over 20 years. Simply put, he is the best in town. My new insurance referred me to two other optometrists, both terrible experiences. I returned to Dr Lowingers office. The office staff is friendly and helpful. The office is always clean and well equipped with new and top notch equipment. They will provide you with an area to remove your contacts , and a case to hold them while you get your exam. The Dr takes the time to listen , give a thorough exam, and my prescriptions are always accurate. He is always open to do adjustments. They do exams for both glasses and contacts. You will leave with a prescription in your hands same day. Wait time is never long with an appointment. Walk ins are welcome. These are qualities you expect, but trust me, you don't always receive. This office excels in service and will provide you with the correct product designed for your eyes. Bonus- They accept medicare provided spending credit cards- Yay for us seniors. read more

I had a good experience here. They are inside Costco. Anway, I scheduled an appointment for an eye exam. Came in on a early on a Saturday. They gave me some eyedrops to dilate my eyes and while I had waited 20 minutes for they eye drops to take effect, I did some shopping. I came back, finished the eye exam, got my presciption for glasses and I was on my way. No fuss! read more

I have been going to Costco for my eye exams for years and have nothing bad to say about the services provided by the optometrist. I do have something to say about the service provided by the administrative staff. I called the office to get my prescriptions emailed to me at 11AM hoping to go to get my new frames done during lunch. it is 11:55AM and I have yet to get them emailed to me. I then decided to proceed to the store and get it faxed there. I called, asked to get it faxed there and had to leave after 30 mins, because it had yet to be sent over. How long does it take to get a prescription emailed or faxed??!! I have been there a lot and they are NEVER so busy that they cannot email or fax something. Most of the time, they are on their phones anyway. I wasted my entire lunch hour. THANK YOU! Update - 06/12 Rx was received at 4PM. That is 5 hours after I asked for it. read more

I came for my yearly visit. After the exam I was charged $69.00. I then asked them if I could have a contact sample until I get my order, she said if it's for contacts it's then $129.00 without re examining me. When I told her it did not make sense, she said the doctor will call me, which he never did. This is plain ripoff and not even have the courtesy to call back and explain. I will never go back and will advise it to anyone. read more

I have been going to the optical at Costco of Miami Lakes for 15 years, now they have a different optometrist Dr Lowringer. I have to say I was pleased with my first visit with the new doctor.The older doctor didn't talk much at all and was never concerned much that at that time I was a 15 year old with a prescription of a 40 year old. Needless to say now I'm 32 with a prescription of a 60 year old. I feel this doctor took the time to make sure I had the best option possible so that I was comfortable with what contacts I would be using and glasses. I know I will come to a point where contacts are not option, hopefully by then there will be newer innovations The administrative employee Debbie has always been very helpful. read more

Dr. Lowinger is located inside the North Miami Beach Costco next to Costco's optical shop. My daughter and I have been using his optometry services the past three years. He has convenient hours by appointment and walk-in and is very good with children. My daughter was fitted for contact lenses and we like the convenience of the adjacent Costco optical shop which has good prices for contacts and an affordable selection of glasses. read more

This Optometrist is located in the Costco on Biscayne. I think Costco is a great value for replacement lens or glasses but there is a limited choice of Designer frames. Their Kirkland brand is also a great value if you don't think you need a designer frame. read more

Me and my family been going to him for few years because as convenient for Costco called him for an emergency and left him messages and he never called us back I am very disappointed and ended up going to another optometrist. he rushes too much and he never gives time enough to spend with you unlike others , but I guess because of Costco he is so busy and uses this for money generation, we wont go there any more my advise better seek another one and is not worth the savings of 10 dollars less but you get better service elsewhere. read more

I recently had my contacts exam with Michael Newman, O.D., who works for the Lowinger Eyecare North Miami, at the Costco on Biscayne Blvd. It was my MOST unpleasant exam ever. The doctor and his two assistants were very unprofessional, uncaring, rude, and had NO attention to details. They seemed to care only about swiping my card and going to lunch. And they were excellent in it !!! Rest of the "exam" was performed VERY POORLY. Thanks God, I don't have any complications in my vision and just needed to renew my prescription, but if you have some problem and want their attention to it, forget! The doctor can't see the difference between basic curves of 8.4 and 8.8., and has no idea how a real contacts exam should be performed. You better not to trust him with your eyes. I think, doctors like him still working there only because of the volume of the Costco new customers.I don't believe this doctor has many returning patients, who had a decent experience before. read more
