Top notch care from a well educated optometrist. Staff is always pleasant and helpful.

In 2019 I wrote this glowing review of Gould Vision, that I am now retracting. My experience this year with the newer optometrist, Dr Teri Rose has soured me to this office and I will not be returning. Dr Teri Rose was a poor listener, did not take the time to understand what I was requesting. When I had difficulty with the glasses, she replied with what felt like an accusation that I had elective surgery to have mono-vision. I reminded her that I had a hereditary eye disease and that this had not been elective surgery. My new optometrist informed me that the driving glasses they prescribed should never have been selected for mono-vision. When I request a refund, Gould Vision never returned my call. If I had to guess, I'd say that Dr Rose hates her job, dislikes working with people, and regrets her career choice. Skip Gould Vision, and find an optometrist who will actually care about your vision needs. read more

Dr. Gould was very thorough, matter of fact and didn't recommend anything that was not necessary. She thought of the patient's safety instead of trying to sell unnecessary glasses for near vision. read more

While on vacation, I lost my eyeglasses in the Atlantic Ocean off Miami Beach. I had a pair of prescription sunglasses but they're much too dark to use indoors. Unfortunately there are no 1 hour eyeglasses for me because I wear a progressive lens. I went into Gould hoping to get contact lenses to see me through, no pun intended, until I got back home to Phoenix AZ where I could order another pair of glasses. As I was explaining to the ladies at the front desk what I needed, they received an appointment cancelation by phone. I don't know if it was for an appointment right then, but they said I could be seen right away. The support staff and the doctor were wonderful! The doctor examined me, fit me in a pair of contacts and I was out the door in a little more than an hour. I was even able to use my optical insurance. Everyone was so helpful and kind. I would give Gould Vision ten stars if I could. read more

Dr. Gould is truly one of one. I hadn't been in for an exam in a few years but the staff is amazing and the Dr. even that much better. She's soo knowledgeable as I feel like I got a course on eye anatomy and what my prescriptions have meant over the years & what that could equate to in the future. Quick 30 minutes and I feel good about my eye health after being a little concerned going in/delaying the visit. read more

It's confusing to see so many positive reviews and yet my experience wasn't a great one. on 11/4 I called and made an appt to see the optometrist the following day. The woman I spoke to checked my insurance and verified me through the portal. She gave me the amounts and percentages I was responsible for and that of the insurance company. I thought I was good to go. The following morning, I received several texts reminding me of my appt and a fee for cancelation. They were excessive and I was there 10mins early. I waited 40mins to be seen. In my opinion, the woman who greeted me and handed me paperwork was inappropriately dressed for an optical office. Spanish music was playing pretty loudly for a doctors office and she was singing along. When I asked her if she could turn down the music she said no and that it was the buffer between the doctor/patient office and the front desk. Well, there are some great noise cancelation machines that work wonderfully and provide a neutral white noise buffer that works for everyone. My eye was very irritated and the last thing I wanted to hear was one employee trying to help a patient while the other one is listening to Spanish pop music, just steps away from me, and singing along to it like if she was in her car or private office. The other female at the front desk was definitely better dressed for her job title and while her demeanor was professional and aligned with that of an optical office, she stated different insurance information than the woman I spoke to over the phone. I was again disappointed in the lack of efficiency. As I stated earlier, it took 40mins to see the optometrist. I had to put more money in the meter. He was able to address my problem and my eye is getting better. I am grateful for that but this was not what I expected when I chose Gould Vision. Because of that I'm giving 3 stars. read more

I love Dr. Gould so much! She really takes care of her patients and makes them feel special every time! Unfortunately it seems like every time I go it's for an eye emergency. This time I had to go in for a stye in my eye. Luckily they were able to fit me in the same day that I found out I had an issue. The staff there is so delightful and on point. The procedure was kind of uncomfortable (to say the least) to remove the stye but Dr. Gould walked me through it and handle me with care. I highly suggest Dr. Gould and her staff if you ever need anything I related. They also have a lovely assortment of glasses if you need some. I love it there, I am a patient for life! read more

Gould vision is nothing short of astonishing. The service, the kindness, and the selection of frames is extraordinary. The staff goes up and beyond the call of duty. Not to mention the Doctor Gould. She takes her time with each patient and always makes you feel at home not to mention, I can see now! It's been a few years since I got am eye exam. It made a world of difference. I adore Dr Gould and her staff. Especially her employee, Julie. Julie always makes time for me and makes sure my insurance is up to date. I don't often write reviews but today reminded me that EVERYONE should go to Gould's vision for all their eyewear needs and eye exams Thank you for another great experience at your location. We adore you. read more

I have been seeing Dr Gould for many years. The office is clean, modern and the staff is always friendly.

so good we didn't have to wait so long def recommend the doctor was really caring and gave us his time

I've been coming here for years. Best team and fast service. Always so polite and personable.

The girls that work here are something special and I am grateful to have found them. Julie helped me out by giving me the gift of sight when I lost my contact lenses while playing in Miami's beautiful waters. The trip would have been so blurry and was beginning to get very uncomfortable with only one good eye-headaches and all. This place made my visit to Miami amazing versus a loss. Thank you ladies I will always come to say hi when in the area . Thank you again Julie read more

Gould Vision is one of those places where you feel at home. Vicky and Natalie are very friendly and go out of their way to make you feel special. Can you believe I hadn't been there for 2 years but they remembered exactly who I was, how my hair color had changed, and the exact pairs of glasses I had purchased? Not many people care enough for their customers to remember such details. They are also EXTREMELY patient: when I purchased my glasses 2 years ago, I spent about 2-3 hours trying to find pairs (I tried almost every pair there), then they suggested I think it over and come back in a few days and pick which pair I liked (out of 3). I was not rushed, even though it was the holidays and there were other people waiting (they were so busy this time of year, they could not even answer the phone!). Dr. Gould is also great, and the best part is, she is HONEST! When I had narrowed my pairs down, she asked me to try them on to give her opinion. Gee, I wonder which one she was going to suggest...the most expensive one, right? It had to be the Guccis I had chosen. After all, they'd get more money out of me if they sold me those rather than the sale and clearance pairs. Wrong. She actually picked out the clearance pair and said it brought out my eyes and complimented my face shape. Wow, talk about honest. People thought my glasses were cute and looked good on me. They're vintage-looking cat eye glasses and I don't care if the huge thick hipster frames are in style, I think they look silly on most people, including me, so I will keep my pair, especially since my prescription hasn't changed in the past 2 years! If you purchase certain brands of contacts and there are rebates, they will bring it to your attention, help you fill out the paperwork, and tell you the steps on how to get your rebate check in the mail, all without prompting or having to ask if there are coupons/rebates. Awesome! Today I got my eye exam, contact fitting exam, and a year's supply of contacts. They also offer Lasik at other offices of theirs and a free Lasik consultation. I like that this place is in a quiet area of the beach, so you don't have to worry about crazy amounts of traffic or any wild, crazy people. There's a parking lot in the back and street parking in the front and side of the shopping strip, which is close to North Beach Elementary, but beware, they DO ticket in all of the parking locations I just mentioned if you don't put money in the meters. Fun fact: a lot of celebrities come here, including Latin telenovela and anchorpeople, yet they are treated like normal folks. Did you know Gould Vision was featured on Jersey Shore and that a cast member came here for an eye exam, all of which was filmed on the reality show? So yes, not only does Dr. Gould treat celebrities, but she is a celebrity herself, having been featured on TV! read more

I wouldn't recommend this practice to anyone. I took my 5 year old for her 1st eye exam and felt like the prescription wasn't accurate because the doctor rushed through the examination and then when I made several attempts by phone to speak with her she never returned my phone calls. Parents will NOT want to use this optometrist. read more

I had a great experience at Gould. they saw me in a timely manner, Dr. Rose was patient and knowledgeable and the staff was very helpful.

I don't often write reviews on Yelp, but was quite heartened by the attention I received at Gould Vision recently. Being on vacation, losing my glasses was the most inconvenient occurrence I would have expected. With the help of Dr. Gould and her staff, it turned out to be a great experience. The glasses were actually better than the ones I had originally. Dr. Gould was so patient about addressing my concerns and put me in a far greater place during the exam. This is a great experience and I could not ask for a better experience! Thank you, Dr. Gould read more

My wife took my kids here and we have found the same as the negative reviews posted below. Would not recommend Gould Vision as they do not specialize in children's optometry because they do not have the appropriate equipment. I was lucky that I detected that Dr Gould did not know she was talking about, so sought another opinion which turned out to be very different to the one I received here. I was told in the children's optometry world she has a very poor reputation. Before she replies that I am a fake review, I am not, and in fact, my wife found Dr Gould and her husband very personable. Unfortunately, being personable does not deliver quality children's optometry services and I would not recommend. read more

This is my first negative yelp review and it hurts to leave. But this establishment is the type of place that breeds upset. Skip it and find an online glasses retailer after getting a script from a reliable eye doctor. Likely and hopefully just a lie, they claimed there to be some major medical issue only after I called requesting a refund. The lady I spoke with kept repeating that she was new and was unable to help. I'm looking into what can be done about a doctor who gives you a false assessment. Beware. This business is a dying breed and their manipulative and sales skills are all they have. read more

Dr Gould is the BEST. I had an eye emergency and she squeezed me in first thing in the A.M.This is incredibly rare. She did some tests and recommended that I should go directly to a specialist for further testing. She made it so easy. She gave me a top specialist that she called AND faxed everything over. I arrived and the specialist took me an hour later and diagnosed a torn retina which he repaired. Thanks to Dr. Gould being an excellent Dr. my retina was repaired in time without further damage. I would not go to any one else . She is the top of her field. Her employees are very kind as well. I am very grateful Miami Beach has such an excellent Dr. read more

Still adore Dr. Gould! Her new staff is also awesome. Digna sat with me while I went through about 10 different pairs. She was amazing and helped me out with all my insurance benefits as well. Once we had narrowed it down to three pair, Dr. Gould popped over and helped make the final decision. I picked up my new pair just today and have already received so many compliments! The gal who helped me with the eye exam was also friendly and sweet (wish I could remember her name for a shout out). Love the team here and their amazing customer service! read more

My bf and I are new huge fans of this office. Natalie and her fabulous Aunt(who I believe is the office manager)are beyond fabulous. They're extremely knowledgable about all things eye/glasses/exams...super knowledgable about benefits/insurance particulars and will do their best to meet each individuals needs. I have perfect vision, while bf is blind as a bat(teehee). He needed contacts as well as glasses. I hadn't had an eye exam in ages. After our prelim exams which Natalie expertly administered, we met with Dr. Verette(sp). She's there a day or two a week. She was great!!! Professional and thorough, while addressing us like individuals and as if we were her only patients. We really dig this office and staff. Check it out. And if you try the deli/restaurant next door, shoot me a line. I keep meaning to eat there. read more

We went to Gould Vision based on reviews we read. However, our experience was not stellar by any means. Although the lady who took our order was very friendly, the service was not up to par. We ordered several pairs of glasses and had three issues: in one pair, one bifocal was misaligned, in another pair one lens had a scratch and in the third pair the frame we received had one corner broken! On one occasion, we were called to come pick up a pair of glasses and after we made the trip there it turned out that the glasses weren't even ready . It took a total of five visits to finally get everything during a span of two months. read more
