Poor customer service at Lowes on Greenwich ave in Warwick. I asked the guy in the garden shop if I could load 12 bags of mulch from a pallet in the parking lot into my truck. They're were a few guys around that could have watch me. The guy said no that they wouldn't do that. He was short with me and a bit of a jerk. It should not be an issue for someone in a pickup truck to be able to load over 10 bags of mulch from a pallet in the back lot on a truck. As long as someone is watching! I purchased the Harborbreeze ceiling fan here on June 4. I hired a registered electrician who used to install ceiling fans for Lowe's for years. He came and dismantled my former one and disposed of it and spent a good part of the day putting together the new fan and hooking it up and putting in a new switch and getting it all set up and ready to go. From the first day, I had it, the motor made a clinging noise as the fan went round and round the faster I made the van Gogh the noisier the fan was my electrician came back today and took it all apart and checked every one of his connections and everything was done perfectly, and nothing was looped, and he said it was all in the motor itself, we tried to run it again, and then the motor just died obviously it had a faulty motor in it, and it was all the fault of Harbor breeze that manufactured it. I went to Lowe's here on Quaker Lane to speak with the manager. I was told he was in an all day district meeting. I asked for the assistant manager, and was told there was no assistant manager. I don't understand how a store that lodge can function all day long without anyone in charge! I went home and call the telephone number that was on the Harborbreeze booklet that came with the fan and it connected me to customer service at Lowe's, I explained my situation and after a long time finally got a return authorization number to return the fan that cost me over $200 to begin with. Then he connected me with another Lowe's department that was going to offer me a compensation. After waiting for the woman to come back with this compensation figure I lost the call. She never called me back so I had a call back and give my story all over again to another person. This person had me wait for 10 minutes and came back and told me they could compensate me $20. I told her I paid my electrician $450 to install a faulty fan and would have to do it all over again and all they could offer me was $20. She went back to a supervisor after I demanded that and her supervisor authorized $50! What an insult to me and what a sham! Imagine Lowe's a multi billion dollar company which stores all over offer me a $50 compensation for something that's gonna cost me another almost $500 because they sold me a faulty Harborbreeze fan! Once I replace this fan and use this wonderful $50 gift card I will never ever purchase another item at Lowe's again. Shame on this company and how lousy I was treated! read more

I spent almost $400 during a quick trip.. The way I was treated by customer service was completely unacceptable. After loading my car and making it home, I realized I had left an item in a shopping cart outside the store. I immediately called the store to prevent it from being taken. Someone answered, "Customer Service, Hold!", and never picked back up--for the entire 20-minute drive back to the store. When I arrived, I found my item still outside. Inside, I saw three customer service associates standing around chatting, not helping customers. When I explained my call had been on hold the whole time, the woman at the desk flat-out denied it was possible. I showed her my phone displaying the store's number and the 20+ minute hold time. She shrugged, accused me of calling the wrong store ( despite using the phone number on the receipt), and dismissed me. See my call log and receipt attached below I left the store, sat in my car, and someone finally picked up the call--only to hang up immediately. I called back, someone answered, and when I said "I was just checking to see if anyone would pick up" they hung up on me again.... Which clearly proved my point. This was not a staffing issue. This was employees choosing to ignore customers, lie, and hang up on them. It's unprofessional, disrespectful, and reflects extremely poorly on the company. I like to shop Lowe's whenever I can. I like their corporate stance and their support of many causes I believe in. I was in this area of Warwick recently and I decided to look at their paint supplies. I thought Valspar was Lowe's private label brand (like Behr is Home Depot's) but when I did some research I realized that Valspar was a separate brand by itself. Valspar is based in Minneapolis. With over 11,000 employees in 26 countries and a company history that spans two centuries, it was the sixth largest paint and coating corporation in the world. Valspar was founded in 1806 as a paint dealership in Boston, Massachusetts. The Valspar name emerged in 1903 as the name of a clear varnish and became the company name in 1932. Sherwin-Williams acquired Valspar in 2017. Anyway, their prices were competitive to Home Depot or Benjamin Moore or Sherwin Williams. Lots of choices and price points. read more

Someone in another department tried to help find someone that could help me purchase an appliance and there was no one around. I had a horrible experience with Home Depot, so I took to order online. Home Depot's website was very annoying to figure out. I was having trouble figuring out what could be delivered, so I gave Lowes a shot. Their website was a bit more robust and narrowed down things and even showed me things I didn't think were possible. On top of that, the price of Trex was more reasonable. Anyway, I placed an order for Trex to be delivered on a Sunday and for some reason they changed the date. My SO called corporate to find out what had happened. After being hung up on multiple times, rather than take care of us, they transferred her to the Store in question... Seekonk. The person at Seekonk explained that they didn't have the materials in stock in that store, so the system bumped it to the next store that had the stock, which was Quaker. We are trying to meet a timeline to install the material, so this wasn't good, and we work during the weekdays. At this point, my SO was disgruntled, so she told Seekonk that this wasn't acceptable and she wanted something done. They passed the buck along to Quaker. So, she called Quaker and they put us in touch with the Store Manager who said he understood our situation, and said they didn't have ALL the pieces, but he would sub for a different length to satisfy the lack of items. My SO was unhappy that Corporate was forcing this store to appease us, so she gave them an earful and explained that one of us would have to take a day out of work to take the delivery. They once again passed the buck and had the Store deal with it. She spoke again to another manager who was nice enough to give us a discount for the inconvenience. The next day, the order was delivered, and as far as I can tell, the product was in great shape. I was very impressed by the professionalism of the management here. They actually made us feel like we mattered. As for the Corporate Office... they've got some soul searching to do. I'd gladly do business with this store again provided the opportunity. read more

I ordered 8 sheets of tile for bathroom shower trim and paid for same day delivery. They came the same afternoon which was great but when I opened the box, 7 of the 8 sheets had broken tiles. When I called the central customer service line (obviously based in another country) I was told I'd have to take the tiles to the store in Warwick to return them to get a refund. I told her again that I wanted them replaced and delivered to replace the broken ones they delivered earlier. I did not want to drive to Warwick and deal with the traffic and crowds on a Saturday (which is why I paid for delivery). She couldn't figure out what to do and had to put me on hold several times. Her only options were for me to order more tiles through her over the phone and pay for them or return the broken tiles to the store. Very disappointing experience reminded me why I stopped going to Warwick Lowes in the first place. I've had good experiences at other Lowes stores but this one is the worst! I read more

I contracted with Lowe's Installation Services to have a fence installed in my driveway. They required payment in full up front. Lowes contracted with Tripp Construction to complete the work. The process was disorganized, multiple phone calls, no one fro Lowes was the "project manager". Tripp did not do a good job with the installation. I complained to Lowe's, sent pictures and asked for compensation. At no time did anyone from Lowe's or Tripp Construction come by to look at the fence and my concerns. I'd give them a 0 star if i could. I went in to get a battery powered fan and they're locked up. Went to get an associate and they called over the PA system for someone with the key to come help. I then stood there for another 10-15 minutes waiting for someone to come over. After getting fed up i went to go find someone again and not to my surprise they were all on there phones in a corner or talking in a circle. I ordered a countertop for an install in Rhode Island. The customer service rep confirmed the correct install address but the software changed it to an previous order in Florida. The template measure company assigned was from Florida. I reached out to the same customer service rep who did her best to fix the problem but was unable. I received emails from Lowe's asking if the order should be cancelled which I confirmed. However the order was never cancelled. I'm still waiting for my deposit refund, from like 2 months ago. So frustrating. I'm through with buying anything else from Lowe's, because of its failed software that literally cannot handle a simple order and, in other circumstances, its false stated appliance delivery dates which result in a bait and switch scenario. read more

Having been away from our house for a couple of years, it needed a lot of little things when we moved back. Ugh. All the projects. We have had doors and storm doors ordered and installed by these guys. The store staff were helpful, and the installer was very good. He did some needed repair work before he did the installation which we didn't know about, but he showed us what was up, and yup, it really did need to be done before installation. So yea. Light fixtures, light switch covers, new plugs and covers, magnetic cabinet door closures, paints, stains, brushes, rollers, garden shears and plants, kitchen appliances, water heater. You name it, we probably have shopped for it here. We do look around at other places and somehow we end up back here for one thing or another. Sometimes there are plenty of people on the floor to help. Other times not so much but I suppose that depends on how busy the store is right. Most of the time the staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. (OK, there was that one time, where the guy was a bit of a chauvinist know-it-all, but that was only once, so the number of averages are on their side.) We also get a military discount here. If you have served, go to customer service and register. Let the cashier know when making a purchase and save 10%. Every cent counts. read more

Lowe's is a great store, and I've always been a fan. They have everything you need for your home and yard and at affordable prices. This location unfortunately lacks customer service. I went in for a few things for my yard but the main reason I chose Lowe's was because they were running a deal on the mulch I wanted. Went in early on a Saturday morning and asked the first guy I saw working where to purchase/load up. Told him I wanted the sale 2$ black and he tells me its no longer on sale. We're going back and forth until I had to do his job by pulling up their sale ad on my phone ..which for one they should know what days their sales are good until. Of course like usual I was right and it was still on sale. It's annoying to go into a business and I know more about what's going on then their employee's. After he realized he was wrong he tells me the girl can cash me out for the 30 bags and to meet him outside to load up my trailer. The cashier working was confused and said she doesn't know how to ring me up without a bar code. OMG I can't be the first person buying a large amount of mulch from there like it's so complicated. So she calls for help makes me wait it shouldn't be that difficult. Their employees need better training because it seemed like it was everyone's first day. Not my favorite Lowe's. Tucked in behind a whole bunch of other box stores on Bald Hill Rd., it just seems to be a minor leaguer in the big league Lowe's world. It has all the basic supplies but there is just no "wow" factor here like I feel when I go into other Lowe's locations. The employees aren't overly enthusiastic, but will help if heavily prompted...the help buttons featured here usually bring someone shuffling at a snail's pace. But I guess, they do answer the call. In season, their garden center seems pretty barren compared to other competitors in the area. I just don't get any real satisfaction out of shopping here. Serves up the essentials, but not a whole lot more. read more

Went there early on a weekday evening, and it was like being in that old Benny's commercial (the one where the man wanders around the store, looking for help, repeating "Hello? Hello?"). I was getting aggravated walking around the store, trying to find things, especially since my foot was hurting, with very few employees to be found. And, there was NO ONE behind the paint counter. We ordered a special order bathroom, (Cabinets, countertops, sinks, etc.) In order to avoid any issue with the measurements being wrong, we hired a person from Lowes to do the measurements. We went into the store and ordered the cabinets and countertops based upon the measurements that Lowe's put in their system after measuring. It appears all the measurements are wrong as there is at least 6" of gaps between the cabinets. A tall cabinet came damaged and with no shelves, and the granite countertops are too large. We talked to Lowes and they say, "We will get right back to you with a resolution", but they don't. Weeks have gone by and they are refusing to return e-mails or call when promised. We called corporate Customer Service and they promised that the Store Manager (Wilfredo Martinez) would get back to us in 24 hours. Four days later I called Wilfredo and he said he had never heard of me. I could change this rating if Wilfredo provides satisfactory results, if not we will go directly to our legal team to fight this fiasco. read more

A big shout out to Luis and Mark, employees of the Lowe's Warwick store. I was at my third Lowe's looking for a 7 by 12 piece of carpet cut for my front porch. Each Lowe's had it in stock when I searched online, however when I went to the store, I was told it was sold out. Cranston Lowe's sent me to Warwick, North. Warwick North sent me to the Quaker Hill store. They say, the third time is a charm. Luis searched high and low, but couldn't find the one I wanted. He finally said, let me search the back room. He came up with a full roll from the back. He needed to move multiple items to get to the full roll. He called in help, Mark and between the two of them, I walked away, a very happy customer. Although it took 45 minutes, it was well worth the wait. I can't thank them enough for their hard work for a small sale. I was really put off by my experience today. I am looking to get central air installed in my house, so I figured it was worth seeing what Lowe's had to offer. I walked the store, asking for assistance, and it was frightening how it seemed no one knew who actually handled HVAC installations. Finally I was referred to the commercial services counter and I thought finally we were heading in the right direction. I wasn't acknowledged at the counter for several minutes until I went out of my way to ask if I could be helped. I may be a little old school in this way, but I feel that the customer service folks should engage me first. Oh well. Anyway, once I was finally noticed I was referred to someone else at the counter who confessed to me they knew nothing about HVAC systems and would have to have me call back tomorrow. Given the runaround, I am really not thinking Lowe's is worth my time for this project. For the most part, I have no opinion either way towards Lowe's. And, this won't necessarily cost them my business. But, I think I'll stick with picking up random things for the house as opposed to spending significant cash with them. read more

Long story short here. I made a purchase over $2000 on a new Husqvarna tractor and matching bagger attachment. The delievery was scheduled for 2 weeks after the order. The company they hire to deliever, XPO, was very hard to understand to start. Their language was virtually unrecognizable over the phone. When they finally arrived, I requested they stay for me to make sure the tractor worked as it should. They refused. They said they had other delieveries and did not have the time. They said I was to call if I had a problem. Within 5 minutes the mower was fired up and it had multiple issues. Making uncommon noises and the drive was having issues engaging and disengaging. The bagger unit did not fit either. I called the store and a woman named Carol was having a very difficult time understanding the situation. She finally set up a pick up days later for the mower. She said they were unable to get a new one ordered until this one was brought it, my money refunded, and then the new one could be ordered. Just to find out, again days later, that unlike the original 2 week wait, it would be over a month! Absolutely ridiculous. I needed this equipment to take care of my lawn before winter. On top of this, the delievery manager Darrell said that all I had to do was ask the guys to stay. They would not stay, no matter what I said. He acted like he had no idea how this company behaves. XPO have no knowledge of what I ordered and didn't even know what the bagger and mulch kit were!!! On top of this, Darrell said there would be NO WAY for the mower and bagger to be checked for functionality. Even after my situation. He said I could pay a fee if I wanted it assembled. He did not understand that the 4 mounting screws for the bagger were the wrong size. I needed my large purchase checked, not assembled. If I was to order again, I would need to be assured that this situation wouldn't repeat. The managers offered no help, apologies, or corrective action for such a negative experience. I cancelled the order and will no longer do business with Lowe's. I just wanted this out there for those who may be looking to make a similar investment, and hope you get lucky if you give it a shot! read more

I need to warn others about Lowe's and their delivery services. I ordered a dishwasher for delivery online and received confirmation of the delivery schedule. I lined up a plumber to be onsite for installation and needed to ask a tenant to stay home to let the delivery service in. On the day of delivery I received an automated call asking me to rate the quality and efficiency of the delivery that was made. My tenant notified me that no delivery had arrived. After spending an hour plus on the phone with the delivery company passing me around and putting me on hold, I was told I'd need to contact the store. My first call to the store left me on hold for 15 minutes and then dropped me. My second call to the store connected me with a rep that stated they don't have the appliance and I should have been contacted about this. As a result of this poor internal communication and delivery process, I have a tenant that needed to take a day off from work to be available and a plumber that isn't happy about blocking his schedule for the installation job. A major waste of time for everyone could have been avoided with notification. Coincidentally my father in law has been dealing with the exact same experience on a separate order he placed with Lowe's. My advice would be to only use Lowe's if you buy something at the store that you can take home yourself. If you need an item delivered you should look at Home Depot or other appliance stores. read more

I seem to be getting in a, battle with the on line team.at Lowes. That is obvious not my intent. Unfortunately I am physically unable to file a law suit right now. I do hope in time that I can go. to. Kent County Court and initiate a, law, suit. The law suit will point out that I charged a washer and dryer last year. The washer cost $799 plus tax and I also took out a five year extended warranty for $154..Allstate Appliance was authorized by Lowes to fix the washer. They came to my house four times but the washer never imitated any cycles. The lead switch was replaced. Because I am responsible for all the service calls and parts since there is no serial no on the machine. Www.lowes.com would have u belive they are still deciding whether to replace the machine. That is completely untrue They essentially say that I shouldn't deal. With Whirlpool. Whirlpool disclaims any liability since there is no serial. no. I as a very sick person have to go to the laundernat twice a week costing over $77.00. Calls to Henry the store manager have gone uneturned.The Executive office won't help. I have filed a complaint with the Attorney General. Of RI. The. Machine also flooded the cellar and ruined the ceiling. This washer was purchased in May of 2018. read more

Purchased a new air conditioner, washer and dryer from this location. The dryer was broken and Lori, the new appliance manger just make the whole experience worst! She acted like someone who never work in retail, does not ask right questions to solve the problem and I waited entire day for her to call back to process an exchange. I gave her item number and she promised to call back by 2 pm to place the order and she never did. By the end of the day. Kathy who is not a manager called and told me that Lori gave my number to her to follow up. She was very polite and I can tell from the way she talks that she is someone who understands customer service and knows how to make it batter. I was a frequent shopper there till about 3 years ago when the new store manager took over. After realizing the knowledgeable staff were no longer working I asked an employee what was up. He informed me Lowes took a step and fired all department managers with seniority and hired a bunch of part timers that know nothing. I really hope this Lowes close down. I am a frequent Lowe's customer at the Seekonk Ma location. I like Lowe's in general over Home Depot. My experience at Quaker Lane was appalling. We were looking for an item on clearance. The 3 staff members that attempted to help us were untrained and rude. The staff had no idea how to use the Lowe's system to check inventory. Hello- Recently I ordered a vanity top from Lowe's online for home delivery. It was delivered to the wrong address by Fed Ex. Initially I did not think this would be a big deal and acknowledge that mistakes are made. Until I could not get ahold of any person on the customer service number. The first time I called I gave up after around 45 min and the 2nd time I was on hold for 1h 40m and still could not get a human to get on the line. I also tried to contact Fed Ex to correct the delivery but they proved almost as difficult to contact and although they promised they would call me to fix the issue, I never received a return call and the expensive product sat in someone else's driveway overnight. The following day I did finally speak to a Lowe's representative who assured me they contacted Fed Ex to deliver to the correct address. I also spoke to a Fed Ex rep who echoed these sentiments. However by 5:00pm they still had not delivered the product. When it finally arrived the vanity top was completely cracked and damaged in several places. I then had to play the same game on the customer service line to report and fix the new problem, only to be put on hold for over an hour with no one answering. I then tried to process the return order online, and the ONLY option for the return was to bring the heavy vanity top back to the store. This required 2 people and was beyond inconvenient. When I arrived at the W. Warwick store the staff was happy to process the return, however multiple staff were unable to order a replacement in the store. I was there for an hour waiting on them to figure out this ordering process. Finally a manager assured me he was able to order a replacement vanity top and it would be there at the store in a week. My credit card was then charged for the replacement item. A week went by and no contact from Lowes. I called the W. Warwick store 8 days later, was bounced around to multiple people and finally a manager in plumbing came on the phone and told me that they were not able to order the vanity top. At this stage I was beyond frustrated, and the manager did not really even bother to apologize for this unbelievable inconvenience and for charging my credit card for an item I was never going to receive. So, not only did they not inform me the vanity top was NEVER coming, they charged my credit card for it and were just going to let it slide unless I noticed the mistake. One mistake compounded another, and the most frustrating part about all of these was the lack of customer support and service to help correct them. Long story but I could not make this complete catastrophe up if I tried. I will NEVER shop at Lowe's ever again and have been posting this horrendous experience I have had wherever I can. I am submitting this complaint to the BBB as well. No other customer should have to go through this. Horrible customer service. If I could give it a minus 5, I would. Placed an on line order that never showed. When I checked the order status on line, tracker said the order had been refused via UPS. Absolutely not true. Gave dates and times for refusal and we were at home all day. Waited exactly one hour on their customer service line for on-line ordering. Finally hung up. The employees here are IDIOTS. They can't even deliver a refrigerator. Between Lowe's and their 3rd party delivery service XPO both are dumb as rocks. I've had the same refrigerator delivered twice both damaged. This has been an ongoing thing for 2 months. I just want an undamaged unit. ITS NOT THIS HARD. JUST SAVE YOURSELF AND GO TO HOME DEPOT OR BEST BUY. read more
