I was in this store a couple of nights around 8 pm pre-shopping to build my new home. I was wanting to discuss cabinetry. There were two gentlemen sitting in that department at their desks. One was looking at his phone and the other one was looking at his computer. I thought they were busy and would approach me when they could. I came through three different times. Neither of them spoke to me or acknowledged that I was in the area. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! There is no one supervising these people. Stars are only because of the service of three people: Amber, Connie, and Ryan.  This place was crazy and the temp was dropping. Blue vested people were nearly impossible to find. It was very frustrating. In the garden center, there was one person doing inventory-type things with a scanner, so we approached her about getting a bunch of bags of mulch loaded. Her name was Amber; she walked over with my sister. She told her that my sister's blue hair was awesome (which made her day).  She helped with the mulch. At check out, Connie went out of her way to find a Lowe's that had a product we couldn't find here.  It was above and beyond customer service. She was so friendly too. We had 16 bags of mulch, so we needed help with loading, but despite repeated calls for assistance, no one arrived. After 7 minutes, a manager stepped in, and 3 men showed up. Two started to help me, but one was not dressed for 25-degree weather. Ryan, our loader, told him to go inside, and he'd handle it. Ryan was awesome! My landlord purchased a Midea garage ready refrigerator from Lowes. I lent the two delivery men my tools so they wouldn't have to run out to the truck. They were supposed to haul away the refrigerator, but they left the two doors leaning against my fence. They also stole my wire cutters and channel lock pliers. Additionally they did not level the refrigerator. If they worked for me they'd be fired. Lowe's is sending someone to pick up the doors two days from now. They won't replace my tools. This is the crappiest experience I've ever had. These two clowns not only have a poor work ethic, they're petty thieves. Every spring I spend hundreds of dollars on plants and other gardening items. I asked them if they could see if the Lowe's on the complete other side of town had straw and she said she couldn't. so I called and after getting through all the automated crap I was finally allowed to speak to a human that instantly told me they had 64 bales. i won't keep going to the Lowe's on primrose. no one ever wants to help and no one cares about helping customers. it's like it's always an inconvenience to help anyone. they people loading bags of top soil and mulch we're just tossing bags in and off the side of the truck in front of me. no telling how many busted open read more

I have been to three separate Lowe's in one week sun considered myself a Lowe's aficionado at this point. I came in to pick up a door that was only available at the store not my closest store. The pick up experience went well they had the door already there which was a nice surprise since the last time I picked up a door it was not ready for me at customer service (although the way it wasn't bad) I also had to pick up some other home-improvement items like grout and sealant. I was approached by a fantastic representative made Joe did a great job and helping me select the grout repair items that I needed and they worked fabulously. The only reason why this wasn't a five-star experience is when I was waiting to have the door loaded into my truck no Lowe's employee ever showed up to help me in the very busy packed Saturday parking lot. After waiting for a good 10 minutes a man that was in line to pick up a microwave took pity on me and offered to help me as a stranger load the door into my truck because he felt sorry I had been waiting so long. The Spld North side Assist Manager informed me tonight after I told her I was reporting them to the Consumers Act "she didn't care, she ready had one on her desk she was working on." That's A Quote! The Store Manager was standing beside her behaving in the same manner. After I had spent 24 hour, 9 different people ( including Store dept managers, Warehouse, and Corporate) hours of hold time and automated nonsense. I had walked in the store with a email from corporate that could have worked the whole thing out. They however Were So Disrespectful and Rude I told them to come get it all. I had ordered a stove, fridge, dishwasher. -Fridge had No handles, a dent, and scratches. Handles are no where to be found. Even though I bought it in Spfld it was shipped from Lebanon. Which means Spfld will not stand behind their sale at all, and you have to deal with a totally different store, warehouse, delivery. Ordered it Friday, delivery Monday Morning, Tuesday night Still no news or answers. - STOVE I was sold (and the reason I bought from them) a double oven stove for 775.00. Now I argued with the sales rep and told him it was more expensive but he assured me No it was on clearance with 20% off and I was getting a heck of a deal. When they delivered it was one door, totally wrong stove. NO one has been willing to make this right. First call- Dept Manager " that's a 1200 stove I don't know what you want me to do about it" Second - Store Manager you would have to have the warehouse deal with it, they can do refunds and make it right. For years Lowe"s has been my go to store for home improvement & have spent a tremendous amount of money with you. I prefer to do self checkout because it is faster & with the pandemic I feel it is safer. A couple of days ago I went to check out & as always there is an employee at self checkout & she started getting in my way & not letting me check out...I DO NOT NEED HER HELP! She completely messed up my order, argued with me & then cancelled the order & TOLD me to go through a line & which one I should use!!! WHY DO YOU CALL IT SELF CHECK OUT.....IT IS NOT!! After finding one in the store, I was unable to put it on, but Marcos offered to find a wrench for me, which he did, and helped me secure my carb back on, and the offered to get me a water to drink. We had very good, quick and friendly service from the employee. We needed to order a storm door, and needed a certain one. I have dealt with Lowe's for many years. I've had their contractors install everything from appliances, to doors, etc. I will never use this particular location ever again. If I could give them ZERO STARS, I would. And if I could remember the name of the nasty cow that was rude to me on the phone, I'd put her name in all caps here as well. Back Story: Years ago I bought a couple sets of french doors and used Lowe's installer to put them in. The guy came out and when he took the sliding glass doors off of my home, part of the door frame just freaking fell out on to the ground. We both looked at each other and I said, "that's probably gonna cost a lil bit more, huh?" He sheepishly looked at me and said, "yeah, but it won't be bad." I think it ended up a couple hundred more. I was fine with it because I've grown up around carpentry and construction - nothing ever goes as planned and estimates are just that - an educated guess as to the charges. All my life contractors just do what they have to do to make it work. Fast Forward to now: So I'm in a different house and want to replace some sliding glass doors with french doors. So off to Lowe's I go. I choose the same french doors (they worked great the first time!) and plan for Lowe's contractor to install them. So this kid - and I do mean kid - comes out and measures for the door. Lowe's then orders the door. We wait for the door for 2.5 months. And finally they arrive and the contractor calls to set up the install. Install day arrives and the contractor is over an hour later than the time he said he would be there. Okay - I'm not concerned because I have arranged to work from home this day. I've waited 2.5 months for this thing - I want my door. So boi arrives. He gets to work. Good deal. He immediately gets on the phone with someone and I'm hearing a lot of exclamations and "I don't know, mans." and "What do you think I should dos?". Finally boi starts to inquire about the sliding glass doors, who installed them, when were they installed, etc. and begins to tell me that the way the door is framed in, he wasn't expecting it (wtf?!?!? Same boi was the one who measured for the doors to begin with so he saw the job.). Recall that I've had work done by Lowe's contractors before and there were unexpected circumstances that their contractor handled with grace and downright aplomb. So boi tells me that since the sliding glass doors were not installed correctly (these doors have been in this home for 30 years and no problems other than they're old and the seals were shot) his measurements were off so he would have to either cut into the framing already in place, or re-measure and order different doors. Again, this boi is on the phone off and on the entire time getting advice from someone. He finally turns to me and says that he has seen nothing like this in ALL HIS 2.5 YEARS he's been doing these installs. All his 2.5 years. I'm now thinking I could probably install these doors better than boi. So boi says he is going to put my sliders back in, remeasure, and order new doors. He leaves and says he will be in touch. A couple hours later, some nasty cow from Lowe's calls me to tell me that not only are they going to refund my money, but they won't do the job because according to their boi the workmanship on the sliding glass doors (that have stood for over 30 years no problem, remember) was SO BAD they can't do the job because they can't guarantee the work. When I tried to ask questions aforementioned nasty cow talked over me, was incredibly rude, and would absolutely NOT hear that her boi was a greenhorn that was unqualified to do the job. Any contractor worth an ish would have said, "I'm going to have to reframe this door so I can install the french doors." And I'd have completely understood that and said, "well do what you gotta do." Instead this completely underqualified little punk got my house blackballed because HE couldn't handle the job. Not only am I blackballed from Lowe's installing the doors, but I had the job mostly paid off because remember it was 2.5 months waiting for the damn door. So guess who now gets to wait EVEN LONGER to get her money back from Lowe's. Recently we have not had the best experiences with Lowe's. We ordered a custom countertop we finally had to just arrange it ourselves WITH THEIR CONTRACTOR because no one in that department at Lowe's can seem to get a damn quote. Another countertop we ordered sat for 2 weeks - no one called us to tell us it had arrived. Thank heaven Menards is now in town. Lowe's can shove it - especially the Primrose location. Judging from the other reviews of this location, they should train their people in customer service because that nasty cow needs to learn how to speak to people. So, Lowe's, you can thank baby boi contractor and nasty cow who calls people for the loss of my business and everyone I can possible tell and keep from using you, I damn sure will. read more

This place is horrible! I bought a new laundry set to be delivered and installed. They screwed up my original order and shorted me a pedestal. They said it would be 2 weeks until my second pedestal came in. They agreed to let me use my machines and they would install the pedestals when they came in. 6 weeks later, they finally deliver the pedestal and refuse to install them. The delivery crew said they needed to make a phone call to okay it. I tell them I'll disconnect everything, but I need them to install the pedestals. I'm 55 and disabled. They went outside, made a call, got back into their Lowe's truck, and proceeded to drive away. Never coming back to even talk to me. I then get a call from Lowe's saying they weren't going to be installing. I said that they promised me they would. She told me to call the store. The store won't answer the phone. They pick up and hang up without even saying hello. Worst store ever! I will never buy anything from here again. They have not heard the last from me yet. The staff in the bathroom fixtures are not knowledgeable at all. I bought a Kohler toilet and paid for install. The staffer told me the toilet delivery was free if within Springfield city limits. Not true. It would cost me an additional $39 for the company they sub to install just to come pick up the toilet. I also paid $159 for the install. Their sub installer called me to schedule, but they don't work weekends (when I'm off), nor could they come after I get home (around 4:15pm). Lowe's was more than happy to refund my money for the install vs. try to get this resolved. I recommend Home Depot. read more

I purchased a high-end Weber smokefire Genx6 pellet smoker online from Lowes. It offered free "professional assembly" so I agreed. The confirmation email said the smoker would be available 3/21 and sent me a "tracker". It then showed up on 3/21 as "as delayed" so I went by the store to get a "true" estimate on when ready. The gal in customer support said 3/23. On 3/24, still no status change so I called customer service and talked to a gal named Laura who then called Lawn and Garden. My refrigerator quit on Wednesday. I went straight to Lowe's on that day and picked out a new one. Guess what? It could not be delivered until the following Tuesday (six days)!! My credit card was charged on Wednesday 3/22/17, so they have my money and I am at THEIR MERCY. Since I live alone I can deal with it, although it is very inconvenient to say the least. What would a family do in this situation? You do not know when a refrigerator is going to stop working, you cannot plan to "shop around" when you have food going bad, time is important. This "service" is unacceptable, but the merchant really has the customer at a disadvantage since the product is NEEDED immediately. This is not a new television that is WANTED or flooring to be installed because you want a change... The day came for delivery and I had been told it would be delivered between 1pm and 5pm. I made sure I WAS HOME THE ENTIRE TIME STATED. Did they show up at my residence by 5pm? OF COURSE NOT! I called Lowe's a couple of minutes past five asking why it was not delivered and was given some song and dance in a "snide tone of voice" that the delivery time given was approximate!! Really? Does that mean if I was not home when they came that they would wait at my home for me to arrive? Rather doubt it... The young woman who answered in Delivery handed me off to another person, who could not answer my questions and then I was transferred to a gentleman who told me delivery time was "fluid". He called the delivery truck to see where they were and told me it should arrive at my house in thirty minutes or so. The truck drove in my driveway at 5:40pm. The delivery man was alone, which is unbelievable, but par for the course. He received a call right as he came to the door, I am sure to warn him of my dark mood. The refrigerator is black and after he left I noticed there is a faint vertical line on the freezer door where some paperwork had been attached and he had removed and I noticed him rubbing it with his finger, but I will endure that just so I can have a place for my perishables. Now it is Thursday and NOTHING IN THE FREEZER HAS FROZEN. IT HAS BEEN RUNNING FOR OVER 18 HOURS!! I will be calling Lowe's as soon as they open. Highly unprofessional, incompeten, unqualified, illiterate and lazy staff at this establishment. I ordered a washer/dryer set. they messed up my initial order and had to cancel it and redo it. Upon doing so they scheduled my set to be delivered separately on the same day (really!). it was supposed to be delivered on a Monday, that got rescheduled to the following Friday. My washer got delivered but my Dryer did not. The contacted the delivery company DSI/Pilot driver made false notes in our account stating he called us several times, which he did not. Lowe's said they would give me a 10% reimbursement on my purchase due to their negligence, I never received it. It got rescheduled for the following Monday. I called early Monday morning to make sure my dryer was being delivere. I was advised that it was out for delivery between 2-6pm. Soon after I got a call from the delivery guy who asked for my locaton and said he would be there in 30-45minutes. I sent him a pin to my location. By 5:30 (4 hours later) he never showed/called. I tried calling him and left a message with no answer or return call. I called Lowe's in Springfield to see what was going on. They said they would forward me to a manage. the manager NEVER answered the phone.instead, they just kept picking it up and placing it back on hold. I called the contractor delivery company to see if they could reach the drive and see what was going on. According to their notes, Lowe's cancelled my delivery and rescheduled it, yet again, for that following Friday and did not advise me as such nor had any right/grounds to do so since it was already out for delivery and the driver had my pinned location. Do not waist your time or money. You will not receive your stuff. We are demanding a full refund and will purchase our items from Lowe's competitors. If this is the type of recruitment Lowe's is hiring, they will surely FAIL!!! read more

I have visited Lowe's several times, both here and in Mt Home Ar, but until today I had never been treated badly. We went there solely for one item, and after searching for ten minutes or so on our own my husband suggested we ask for help. I did, I was sent to an isle without escort or assistance, upon arriving at that location and searching high and low and not finding our item, we asked for help again. We were again sent on another hunt on another isle, again a fruitless effort. After talking to four different associates I finally spoke with a woman and even told her we had been sent to several locations by several employees with no avail. She again, without offering to guide us sent us in another direction. Fortunately, my husband and I finally found what we were looking for but the aggravation I felt after the ordeal left me thinking, I would rather go to a small hardware store where someone will follow me around and try to help me than deal with this frustration ever again. read more

Had a horrible experience with this store, ordered and paid for flooring, waited for delivery, then waited for the installers to show up, took time off work, they finally showed up, milled around my house for 3 hours,, then decided they couldn't lay my flooring, moister content was 9% they said, (I didn't get to see a meter reading). Looking up flooring on the internet, you can lay it between 6-14% is ideal. They just didn't want to do the job, no one was home to help move the furniture although I paid for them to do it, took 5 days to get my money returned, got better quality and a lower price at Menard's read more

Not impressed with the service in this particular store. I think from now on we'll stick with the one on the north end of town. Pressing the "need help" button doesn't mean anyone will come help, and if they do, you end up with some kid who acts like you just interrupted his break. Many times we've had to go hunt someone down just to get help, and even then they don't seem very helpful. I'm guessing it's just the staff because we have gone to the one on the north end, and never ran into this problem of not getting any help before there. To start with..check our delivery as they shorted us on our wood..yes they del the # of pieces we needed,,,but stuck a short board in the middle of the stack..we had to scab in order to complete our roof on our deck. If that was all i had to bitch about i would not bother..BUT lowes has destroyed our credit..Purchased a bunch of stuff to build a roof on our deck. Min payment was $25 but we choose to do same as cash and payoff in 6 months or less. THis is the 2nd such purchase we have made. BOth paid off in 5 months. Here is where they get you. We did not recv our 1st bill until 2 days after we paid the bill. It was late..but they choose to drop our credit line from $1200 to $180 ...dropped my credit 54 points..they forgot to tell the credit company I was making payment 5times the minimal..and refused to do so..then when we made the 5th and final payment..they went from $15 late fee on the web to sending us a bill for $25 and lowered our credit limit again to $25..57 point drop for this. If they screw you up..they REFUSE to take ownership and choose to destroy your credit..DO YOURSELF A FAVOR..shop at Menards or Home Depot. Sometimes the associates do not immediately assist you but once you ask them they stick with until all your needs are met and always seem have full knowledge of where things are at. They have better pricing than other hardware stores in the area as well as a more organized layout. I purchased a grill and small gazebo type covering for it. Lowe's is 2 miles from my home but I have a small car and could not transport it. When I purchased the items and set delivery (2 weeks post purchase) they assured me that setup would be included in the $65 delivery/setup fee. As I was traveling for work at the time of delivery, someone else was there to sign for my items. It was raining and the delivery guys just dropped off the grill and the BOXED cover/gazebo. So for $65, I paid for two guys to drive 2 miles to drop off a box and a grill with no setup at all- they didn't even put the grill on our deck! When I returned home and saw what had happened, I called the store. After being transferred 5 times and being on hold for 19 minutes, I finally got a assistant manager. While trying to explain my predicament, he talked over me 5 times, was rude to me, told me that he didn't care that I was upset and it was standard practice. This was THE worst customer experience and I will not return to this store for anything else. Just left Lowes and have never been so disappointed. I went to get some 1x3 pine boards for bed slats and had them trim them for me since I don't have any power tools. When I got there, a worker helped me find the right boards and simply gave me the first 6 without checking to see how straight they were - so after he left I checked them all and they seemed okay. When I got back to their saw, I told the worker I needed them to be 60.5 inches. He measured the first board with a tape measure and simply out the first board up to the other five to make the marks on them without even ensuring they were flush. When he was finished, he handed me my boards and walked away without a word. I was shocked at how rude that was, but I went to the front to check out. As I was waiting in line, I stood up the boards and realized they were all really off. None were the same length! I asked the checker if I could borrow a tape measure to make sure they were correct and she rolled her eyes at me and reluctantly handed me a tape measure. The first board I measured was only 59.8 inches long!! They were all supposed to be 60.5! I asked the woman what do I do if they cut them incorrectly and she said "ma'am, our saw is NOT precise, it's a rough cut". I'm sorry, a "rough cut" shouldn't compromise almost a whole inch from the size I asked him to cut. I ended up getting the manager involved and had to get all new boards and had him cut them for me himself. The two stars is only because he personally helped me out after the extremely rude workers. Not to mention, this took me an extra almost thirty minutes and didn't get any kind of compensation for my inconvenience. I can't believe I was treated so poorly. Special ordered over $5000 dollars of hardwood flooring here. The transaction with the associate in flooring was smooth. It arrived on time. I received automated calls to let me know it was in. The pick up went smoothly. 2 employees brought the flooring out with a fork lift and helped load my trailer. Twice. It was over 5000 pounds so two trips. I used to be a floor layer. Waste was far less than the recommended 10%. I saved 2 boxes and returned 4 boxes of the special order flooring with no problems whatsoever. $400 back in my pocket. My father ordered special order siding at the Home Depot and they wouldn't take back extra. So unless there policy changed that's a no go. My reason for not giving Lowes 5 stars is they could have a bigger selection. For example they do not have slip tongue, also known as spline. Nor can they order it. It is a strip of wood for changing directions with hardwood. Honestly unless you are doing a single room with a closet in a perfect place you can't properly install hardwood with out it. I bought it at Lumber liquidators. Also they do not carry venting pipe for the tankless water heaters accept for a straight through the wall one. One last thing to note. At the time of this writing Springfield has 1% less sales tax than Republic, where I usually go to Lowes. So by making this huge purchase in Springfield instead I saved $50. read more

A friend of mine purchased new flooring to include installation. On the installation day the professional installer informed my friend they did not want to install the flooring due to poor quality material. The installer further informed my friend that Lowe's had sold her factory seconds as high quality. When Lowe's was confronted by both the installer and my friend, the answer the flooring manager gave was it didn't matter what materials they sent, it has a five year warranty. They have thus far refused to replace. This is not the first time I have had trouble with Lowe's. I hope those who read this will think twice before purchasing from Lowe's with their questionable business practices. read more

They have everything! I love this store! Its easy to get help finding what you need and you get checked out fast.

I bought a tiller and was called on Tue. to pick it up. I called a 9:45am to be sure it would be put together and would be ready for 5:30pm pick up. I waited over 45 min. I waited over 45 min. The customer service desk lady was very nice and called several times to check on it. Finally I ask for a manager and she came never, smiled was not friendly ask what I wanted and said she would go check on it. Shortly it was out but she never once apologized or told me how sorry she was for the wait. I drove 60 mi. borrowed a truck. I am a very good customer I have spend close to $3200 in the last year. I feel like Im a good customer and I expected to be treated that way. I am I have been a manager a conv. store for years and I know if you want returning customers you treat them like they are appreciated. I will probably not be a returning customer to that store. Those are the kind of customers that will make you or break you. Bad news travels fast so good customer service always assures a returning customer.
