The store itself is clean, employees are generally helpful however my review is based off of a HORRIBLE experience with Lowe's appliance delivery team. I purchased a refrigerator almost 1 year ago from the Sonora Lowe's location. I had delivery set up and paid the additional fee due to the location of my property totaling $150. I also requested that they remove my old appliance as I no longer had a use for it and had no where to store it. When the delivery people arrived they got to work fairly quickly. One gentleman was unwrapping the new fridge while the other began removing the old one. Right away I noticed there was going to be a problem. The man removing my fridge in the kitchen was using his hands, wiggling the fridge back and forth out of the alcove on brand new LINOLEUM flooring. Sure enough, when the fridge was removed there were several deep tears in my flooring. You'd think that was the worst part of the experience however that was only the beginning. After moving the refrigerator making the gashes visible they did not say much to me. They pointed to the gashes and said " we wanted to show you this". I was home by myself and felt very uncomfortable around them due to their obvious change in demeanor. They were whispering to each other, making quiet phone calls to their manager, snapping pictures of the damage and at the end all they could tell me was that their manager would be in contact with me. This is where I made my mistake. I realize now that I should have had them sign something, called someone with them present...something.....but truthfully I was home by myself and felt very intimidated by them. Long story short, I had to reach out to the manager after a couple of days because no one ever called me. He informed me that the drivers said they did nothing wrong and that the damage was there before they started the work. Funny how tears going in the same direction as a refrigerator being REMOVED FROM AN ALCOVE would already be there when the flooring was weeks old and the fridge had not moved. I told the manager this was not acceptable and was eventually referred to their legal department. What a joke. After 6 months and ZERO opportunity to tell my side of the story or provide adequate pictures of the damage they decided the damage was existing and denied my claim. Needless to say I will NEVER shop at Lowe's again. I am a firm believer in giving any business a chance to remedy any mistakes that may happen because mistakes do happen. I bought a dishwasher less than 1 year ago and the seals broke. It is still under warranty so Loews sent someone to repair it. He said he had to get a part... It has been 3 weeks and we are still waiting, no one called to advise us, finally he says tomorrow, we shall see Also ordered carpeting, a date was set to have it installed with the provision furniture was to be moved and we paid for that. The installer called the day of installation and said he had no one to help him move the furniture. Cancelled carpet and got my money back. Not happy with Loews contractors and will not use Loews again, if I can help it. read more

Ive been in this store for years, I even worked there 7 years ago as a matter of fact but the service has gone horribly wrong. Went in this evening to get a product that says online is there. Its back ordered and the website hasn't caught up. It happens, factory buy back. It is what it is but the way it was handled was disgusting. "melissa" in flooring was out of her way rude, downright obnoxious actually to not only myself and young son but to an elderly couple that made the mistake to get in big melissa's path and actually ask a question. Maybe if I had a sandwich for her she wouldn't have wanted to bite everyones head off. I would expect management to do something but we are seeing that Lowes wont do anything with employees who insult people. Trust me, there are good people there but if you see big melissa run out of the store to your car and drive to home depot!! I would mention that dealing with her was the worst experience Ive had to endure in years but I know somewhere there is a person who actually has to know her, or God forbid marry her. I feel for him. I'm torn on Lowes... It's one of those place to go when you need something off the wall and don't want to wait for Amazon to ship it out. It's convenient but it's also pushed out other small towns businesses that everyone was afraid of when they built in Sonora. They have a pretty diverse selection of things but not always available. Their app drives me crazy.... I will use it to find the location of something in the store instead of searching out an employee but most of the time it isn't where it is said to be defeating the point of the app. 3 stars = meh read more

Thus store is amazing!! It's exactly what the town needed. I wished they had it when I lived up here. I was getting tired of the rude slow service at OSH, and the higher prices at Andy's hardware next door. The store is brand new, & still has that glossy new store shine and smell. It is laid out very well & stocks the same variety of items you can expect in larger stores. I found the staff very helpful and knowledgeable in the DIY areas. check out was a little slow, but overall this store is better than anything else in the county. read more

Recently went back to Lowes to purchase a dishwasher. The service was good and we received the dishwasher in a timely manner. The contractor that installed it however was a different story, believe they were called progressive logistics out of Ceres. The dishwasher was not installed correctly and not even screwed in. Norma and Jo were our saving grace and got a great contractor out here immediately to re install the dishwasher, James Brown Construction. JB Construction did a great job and Norma and Jo went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. I will use Lowes again if only because of the quality customer service we recieved from those girls in installations.....Thank you Jo and Norma. read more

Store was super clean and I like the fact that for many home improvements no more runs to the central valley. This store will attract many of our neighbors from surrounding counties. This particular Lowe's has gone downhill in a hurry. This morning I was checking out and one of my items did not have a sales tag on it. So the cashier called back to get a price. Phone in the department rang rang and rang. No answer. The cashier tells me, "I can't ring you up because there is no price tag on this item and nobody is answering the phone back there." So, I leave my other items at the cashier and run to the back of the store to get one with a price tag. While getting the price for the item, I notice no less than 7 Lowe's employees just standing around talking, phones ringing away. I asked them, "Shouldn't you be answering that phone?", to which they replied, "That's not my job!" Then all 7 of them started laughing. When I returned to the register, the cashier saw me coming and went ahead and took the next customer telling me to wait while he checked the person out. I asked to speak to the manager on duty and was told they were too busy to come to the floor. I will definitely NOT be giving this Lowe's any more of my business, if I can help it. It's a shame that the store management doesn't appear to care about it's customers and that employees are not trained in customer service. read more

I was really nervous about ordering my new refrigerator from Lowe's after reading the review about the delivery. Also, a friend of ours had a bad experience with Lowe's appliance delivery. So I really wanted to leave a review because we had a GREAT experience with the delivery team that delivered my refrigerator last Sunday. Yes, SUNDAY. We had planned to order from Sears after hearing about delivery problems from Lowe's, but they wouldn't deliver on the weekend and we didn't want to take off from work. Also, their price was higher and they wouldn't price match. So we ordered from Lowe's. Mike and Jonathan called us Sunday morning to tell us when they would be delivering the fridge, just as Lowe's had said they would. They said the would be there between 10-12, but said it would probably be around 10:30. They got there at 10:45. They measured the front door and the area the fridge was going in to make sure it would fit. They removed the front door and were very careful about their handling of it. They removed the old fridge, and then brought in the new fridge. They got the whole thing set up, including the icemaker, in less than an hour. Mike was also nice enough to note that my old fridge had an egg holder in it, and suggested that I keep it, since my new one didn't have one. They made sure the doors opened without bumping the walls, and carefully leveled the fridge. I know that other people have had problems with appliance delivery from this store - make sure you ask for Mike and Jonathan! They were GREAT. read more

Zero Stars. Wish I had read the reviews before ordering my Front Door from them in Sept. Was supposed to be ready for pickup mid-Nov. Wasn't able to get anyone on the phone. Went into the store and was able to get someone to look up the order, but it didnt have an update. Rep said she'd call me with an update. No call. Over the next several months I'd have to go in and get an update. Then March '21 go in and find rep and ask if he could check status and he slams his personal cell phone down and asks for phone number in rude voice. Friend that was with me noticed too. Ended up getting a refund. Guess they're making so much money that they dont care about losing a $4k sale. I will never order anything from that Lowe's again. Oh, and it has a reputation with other Lowe's locations as being poor at service as well. To the store manager... Contact me as I've not been able to reach you. Both of these "men" stood here and watched My husband load up almost a pallet of 80lb concrete bags in our truck by hand. Never not once asked if he needed any help. Just stood there the whole time. I suggest not using Lowe's for any of their subcontracted work. They refuse to back those subcontractors work and the subcontractors are suspect. Recent countertops install needed some fine tuning. Subcontractor finally came to "fix" the situation and advised unable to do because we signed off on the project when in fact Lowe's signed off after we had advised both Lowe's and subcontractor that we were not satisfied with the results at the time of the install. Posted a review about a year ago regarding abysmal phone service at Lowes, Sonora CA. Not much has changed since. I just spent 45 minutes, 9 call attempts, on the phone attempting to speak with rep from windows/doors. Most times no one even picks up at main switchboard. If they do, there is no follow up when department does not answer, phone just hangs up. When requesting a manager, they don't pick up either. I have seldom run into customer service that is so lacking. It seems with Lowes, "the customer is never correct". Do yourself a favor, save frustration and shop somewhere else. Lowes in Sonora does not deserve your business, its always all about them, never about you, the customer. If I could give "0" stars, I would! read more

We replaced 4,000 sq ft of flooring in September 2020. When the materials were delivered, the delivery crew gouged the frame of the front door and damaged the weather strip underneath the door. (The installers also missed installing a transition piece.) They assured me that they would return to fix the damage. I've called the store and their complaint line numerous times, holding for an hour or more to get through. I get a lot of sympathy and assurances that somebody will call within 24 hours, and here we are, seven months later. I have several other home projects, which I will take elsewhere. I'm giving Lowe's five stars for two reasons. First they are not only service dog friendly, they are all dog friendly. My wife and I saw the sign that said that and we were impressed. When we went inside we saw at least 6 dogs. The second reason is that they give Veterans a 10% discount. read more

This place is a nightmare to order something through, especially if it has to be installed. They do not follow up with customers. You have to do your own follow up with them but be careful, you will get the blame because customer service is non existent. Most of the installation they farm out to some local yocals whose service is iffy at best about 50% of the time. You really can't be selective about the quality of the installer because Lowe's doesn't do any quality check on their installers. It allows them to pass the buck when installation problems occur. From now on I will go with local businesses. It will be more expensive but I would rather have it done right . Lowe's really needs to get its act together! I pulled up in my motorcycle to try the curbside pick up for the order I placed the night before. I called the number and it kept ringing and it kept transferring me back to the main menu and I had to keep pressing 2 to get to curbside pick up again. I had to contour doing this and this probably 15 times and it took over 10 minutes for someone to finally answer. And the reason for that is I caught an employee outside and asked her for some help. She kept repeating that I can just go inside to customer service and pick up my order. I explained that I had my helmet and backpack motorcycle and I wanted somebody to bring it out to me since I was using curbside pick up. I asked if she could to go find a person who supposed to come out and do curbside pick up., which she reluctantly did. Why have eight curbside pick up parking spots if nobody manning the phone?? I have purchased a Dryer twice online and been billed both times but as of now I have not received a dryer. The latest no show was this morning, with yesterday being the first time they didn't show up after receiving confirmation both times from the delivery company that it would be delivered. Horrible service. Went to get an item the website said they had in stock. It wasn't on the shelf but they said it was in back and they would call me when they had it out on the shelf. NO phone call. Wedsite said they had it so I purchased it along with other items thinking they would email me when they had it pulled. Next I get an email saying my order is ready to pick up but the item I originally wanted is out of stock. So now I want to cancel the order since it's not worth a trip over if they don't have everything I want. Good luck with that! No one will answer the phone. There's no way to cancel the order online. Bought 5 gallons of paint last week and got ready to paint. Found the bucket had not been shaken and the tint was just sitting on the top of the 5 gallon bucket. Called the store and they said that it had to be shaken on the machine. I drive all the way back to the store from Copper and was told I should have just stirred it and the lady tossed some oversize paint stirrers on the counter. 2.5 hours and 60 miles later, the place is a joke. If I could get a negative star review to Lowe's Sonora I would. If you are just walking in an walking out with something it is fine. Go for it. But if you are wanting something installed save yourself ALOT of grief and go somewhere else. It is the biggest cluster F&*k I have ever seen. Plus they charge you for product and installation when you place the order. So we bought a Samsung washer & dryer almost 3 years ago from Lowe's location in Sonora, CA. We also purchased the 5 year extended warranty. Dryer stopped heating at the end of December. Service order was placed on 12/27/20 for appointment on 1/5/21. Service guy showed up, determined I needed a whole heating unit, no part on truck, had to order it from Samsung. Once part arrives call for return service. 1/11/21 we called to schedule another service call, was given an appointment on 1/20/21 & confirmed by email. Guess what know one showed up, after multiple calls to Lowe's & A&E repair...soonest appointment 1/29/21. This is the worst customer service I have ever received. Would not recommend Lowe's for appliance purchases. We even found a company that would come service the dryer by 1/26 & Lowe's wouldn't ok the service. Believe me moving forward only going to Sears & Home Depot, as any issues were ALWAYS resolved within a week. read more

This Lowe's has been around for a few years now, and the experiences I've had there have been pretty mixed. They have just about anything you could need as far as hardware and home improvement things go, which is great! The employees usually seem friendly and eager to help if you look lost. The downsides are definitely their prices (some are higher than other places, some are lower), but Home improvement stuff typically doesn't come cheap. We have had a pretty bad experience with the delivery to the store. We had ordered a washer and dryer and were told that both were in and ready for pick up. We had planned a delivery to our house but we live out of their 7 days a week delivery area (funny how the sign didn't say anything about that at the time), so instead of taking a day off work, we decided to get the truck and get the things ourselves. They promptly got our dryer. No washing machine to be found. We showed them the info stating the product was there. After about an hour, they came out with a washing machine that definitely had someone else's last name on it. Sorry to those folks, hopefully they got their product without a wait too. We also ordered a fridge a few years later and it was delivered damaged. We got some money back and better service with that transaction! read more

It seems that no one really knows much. It takes multiple people to answer only 50% of your questions. The person who deals with the online orders is not helpful, and hard to get a hold of. We were not kept in the loop when a product we ordered was on back order and would be several weeks delayed. Then when the product finally it come it was not the product that was described online, it was almost half the length which put another wrench in our project because we had placed our order based on the measurements listed online. So, naturally we called to clear things up, and the product we wanted only comes in the smaller length. False advertising. To rectify the situation Lowe's only gave us a 10% discount for our trouble. The project has already been delayed by 3 weeks, we purchased a product listed at a certain price per a certain length and now we have to wait another 10 days and pay additional money for something that was falsely advertised. Our dishwasher broke down, and we decided to wait a couple months to buy one, because there are usually good deals for Memorial Day. We got a bit of a sale price, and paid for delivery and installation. They were supposed to call the next day to scheduled the delivery, and they never called. I waited 3 days and then called Lowes about the delivery. I was put on hold, then told to call the delivery company, and I had to leave a message. Eventually I spoke to someone and made an appointment for it to be delivered and installed. The soonest we could get an appointment was close to 3 weeks later. I wasn't happy about how long it would take, but I was understanding. They never showed, and never called. I called Lowes again, I was told they aren't using that company anymore, and to call this other place. After endless phone calls, 2 different delivery companies, 3 no show, and 6 weeks of no delivery, we cancelled the whole order. Very disappointed to say the least. read more

My husband and I went to Lowe's yesterday. The place was packed with people. None of the employees were wearing masks. Very few Customers were wearing masks. There was no way to follow any kind of social distancing. It was a nightmare. And ironically they kept announcing over the loud speaker that we should be practicing social distancing. Check out was also a joke. There wasn't any way we could stay 2 feet away, let alone six feet, from the people in our line. I didn't just feel uncomfortable, I felt unsafe. I could hardly wait to get out of the store. At the very least they should have limited the number of people in the store. My husband and I were wearing masks and my husband spoke with a man, who also wore a mask, who said he was from the Bay Area and that this sort of situation would never have happened there. I feel strongly that it was irresponsible for Lowes to treat their employees and the public in such a disrespectful way. We went to Lowe's for a specific reason and were out as soon as possible. I will be calling the Corporate Offices to find out what their protocol is and will also be reporting them to the appropriate government authorities and the media. This isn't a joke. People need to be able to rely on those companies who are deemed essential businesses to do the right thing to protect all of us. I tried all day yesterday to speak with the manager and could never get through to anyone. I won't be shopping at Lowe's. read more

No show... just got off the phone with Lowe's in Sonora, CA. I made a $2000.00 in store purchase on 10/052021. Original delivery date was the first week in November. I get a call from Lowe's (Ivan) saying they are pushing the delivery out to the 19th or 20th. On the 19th, I drive 147 miles so I am present for the delivery. On the 20th at 10:04am I get the automated notification that my delivery will arrive in 49 minutes. No show... 1:15pm I am on the phone with Lowe's (Tammy). They confirmed that I was scheduled and said my order was on the flatbed and they were to deliver it later in the afternoon. 5:30pm still no show. So I call again only to be put on hold for a manager, only to be conveniently hung up on. Three more calls... they don't even pick up the call. They must have caller ID. Finally, a guy (Will) answered and says they have not even received it from the vendor. Kind of odd that it was there on the truck that morning, but by that evening it mysteriously never was there? Somebody's a liar... or they all are liars. I am so pissed right now read more

We ordered plantation shutters. We choose Lowes over Danmer and a local company because Lowes were confident they could beat the installation date 2-3 weeks earlier than the other vendors (and were more affordable). So, we chose Lowes because timing was critical (installation before guests visiting and new baby coming). We're now still awaiting install, 3 weeks+ after the window they gave us. It may be worth the 10-20% premium to go with an independent installer, who has direct contact with the suppliers and knows a product well (unlike big box stores like Lowes). read more
