We were in need of a new kitchen stove and refrigerator. In the end we called Middleton's and spoke with Gino, who was very knowledgable and a great help to us. The next morning we made the drive from Volcano to Angels Camp and when we arrived at the store, both Gino and Bob Middleton were there. These guys really know their stuff. I have purchased a few things from Middleton's. My last purchase was a Lazy Boy recliner couch. I was NOT told that I would be getting the floor model... had some flaws. That's what I got. Well... Okay... This one is a manual lift my old one was electric. It was very stiff to get to recline fully and was told this would get smoother. After about 2 months I told them it wasn't getting smoother and was hurting me and I wanted credit towards a different couch. I was basically told TOO BAD especially from the younger "family member." The senior family member looked like he wanted to help but was cut off by the younger one. They told me the only thing I could do was buy a certain lubricant, turn the couch over and lubricate it. As a disabled senior I cant do that. It is now SO BAD that it will barely reline all the way back and sticks. I won't shop there again. Be sure you know what you are getting. read more

Ah Middleton's. If you are from Calaveras County (like moi) you have probably been to Middleton's. My parents have purchased appliances and electronics equipment here over the years. When you live in such a small community in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, not many department stores will provide home delivery. Very frustrating! Luckily Middleton's is there to save the day! My experience with them stands in stark contrast to the service that I received at a certain big box store in Sonora, where I had initially placed a few special orders. After having nothing but bad luck there, I called Middleton's and they truly came to the rescue. Here's our experience. We were in search of the elusive Fisher-Paykel brand for our refrigerator and dishwasher replacements at our home in Arnold. Doing a Google search, it appeared that only the local big box store was able to get and deliver these products so that's why I went with them initially. But after multiple delayed deliveries, constant communication problems where the sales people weren't updated by the delivery folks (and vice versa), and ultimately a badly dented delivered appliance, I threw in the towel and cancelled my order with them completely. We thought we would have to select a different brand of appliance and move on... but to our delight, we were wrong. I contacted Middleton's after a neighbor recommended them and spoke directly to Bob Middleton, who informed me that although his retail shop doesn't have Fisher-Paykel in stock, he is an authorized dealer and able to order them. Score! The process of ordering over the phone with Bob was seemless and efficient. He gave me a remarkably exact delivery date and inquired about our delivery address in Arnold so that his crew would be prepared to haul the new and old appliances appropriately. He confirmed with me when he received the ordered products and again to confirm delivery date and time. His crew was, according to my husband, the "best and most professional delivery crew we've ever had" (which is saying something, as we've had many such deliveries over the years at different houses. My general contractor recommended I work with Middleton's for the purchase of my appliances for my kitchen remodel. He said their service was exceptional. I typically just purchase my appliances from Lowes, but decided to give the local shop a try. The owner is very knowledgeable and cordial. I ended up getting my range and microwave from Middleton's. The microwave failed within the first 30 days. I called Middleton's and they jumped on it immediately. They arrived the following day with another new microwave and installed it. No complaints, no hesitation to satisfy me/the customer, etc. Very professional. I purchased my fridge from Lowes because it was on clearance. It looked great at the store, but the delivery folks damaged it. It was a hassle to get a reasonable discount for accepting the damaged fridge, but I got it done. Our fridge conked out durning summer the heat. Despite low supply during the pandemic Bob Middleton got a new fridge delivered to us the next day that fit our kind of awkward fridge space. Three delivery guys came within the time window specified and professionally installed our fridge with no dents or scratches. I went to this store because my refrigerator suddenly stopped working. That meant that I had to buy a new refrigerator very soon, or else my food would spoil. Not only did they have the perfect refrigerator but it was on sale too. Within 1 hour of my purchase they were already delivering my new refrigerator. I tried to shop locally...I bought two beds and a couch for my home and a washing machine. I purchased the machine in March 2018 2018 and by June it was broken. Middletons told me to call a repair place. I did and they said I had to call Whirlpool. I was on hold forever and they told me I had to call a different place. This repair place only comes to Angels Camp once a week and I was not going to be there and my neighbor also could not be around. They came the next week and said they had to get a part and it would be another week! My neighbor and I could not be here so I had had enough. I told Middletons they should give me a new washing machine and take this away. A brand new washing machine purchased in March should not have a belt that totally deteriorated. Middletons said they had to deal with the washing machine brand first. I asked whether they stand by their products. Only when I said I was going to call American Express and complain they said they would take it away and refund my money. I was a good customer and they treated me horribly. read more

I was going to purchase an adorable peg board, but didn't realize all the extras that were attached to it COST extra. We have recently purchased several pieces of furniture and appliances at Middleton's and are more than pleased with the selection, prices and delivery and installation crew. We needed a new refrigerator, found the perfect one, priced well within our budget and it was delivered promptly and installed professionally. Our next purchase was a gas range, and separate hood/microwave unit. The previous range was electric, and Middleton's crew cooperated with our propane supplier to get the range installed. I love cooking on a gas range! Our next purchase was a leather sofa and loveseat. The staff at Middleton's explained the pros and cons of various types of leather and we felt confident that we have received a good product at a very fair price. Again the delivery crew was efficient and professional. Last but not least, we purchased a new bed, and again are very pleased with the product and service, both the information provided by the sales staff which assisted us in choosing the right product for the right price, as well as the delivery guys who are awesome. The delivery crew wrapped the old bed so it can be transported to my daughter's new home (when Ebbets Pass opens!) and placed it in our garage. We are seniors, and the helpful delivery crew does their best to make sure everything is done to the customers' satisfaction. We love this place. Over the years we've had to buy mattresses, appliances, TVs and their service is spot on, prices are very fair and competitive and they are helpful and friendly. The furniture is not my cup of tea but we didn't use the store for that purpose and when we've needed something they are there. At one point we needed to buy a dishwasher for another home in the northern part of the state. It was a product they didn't offer (1/2 size dishwasher) and a region they don't serve. Still, they referred us to their equivalent in the region, gave us the name of the proprietor and said to use their name. Voila!
