Have striven to communicate with Lowes and failed utterly. Unfortunately other than posting a negative review, have no place to turn. Ordered a GE refrigerator from Store #3216 in Kill Devil Hills, NC, found to be defective (broken door) when the delivery folks went to unload it. Both us and delivery folk found ourselves VERY frustrated trying to contact Lowes. Each time we called, when routed to delivery the call immediately went to fast busy. Asking the automated system for customer service resulted in long holds which no one answered. We were left with our entire fridge in iced coolers and no one to turn to for resolution. I do not write negative reviews. Rather, I reach out to the company to let them resolve the issue. There is no reach out to Lowes. Lowes customer service has gone from bad to abysmal. No email address, no one to speak with, a useless automated chat function. Our only pathway to resolution is to order a new fridge somewhere else and lose all the food we had prepared to go into a new fridge. This is not the first time we've had a similar situation with Lowes. It is the last. UPDATE: Lowes replied to our review with the statement, "We wanna look into this further. Kindly contact us at 1-800-445-6937 (8:30am - 7pm ET, 7 days a week). We look to win back your confidence with us." The phone number is an automated attendant number which was just as frustrating as every prior aspect of the experience. Gave up 5 minutes into getting uselessly bounced around unable to get a human. If Lowes actually wanted to address the issue, they would check records for Store #3216 for GE refrigerator deliveries the morning of Saturday 8/22/26. All of our contact information is there, they could reach out directly to us. Expecting us to again navigate their useless automated attendant striving in vain to get a human is adding insult to injury. For the record, Lowes has still not reversed the charge to our credit card or communicated with us in any way other than their useless reply to this review. In addition to the preceding, the onus is now on us to put thru a credit card dispute. UPDATE 8/28/26: A week after the charge we have still heard nothing from Lowes, nor have they reversed the charge to our Discover card. We've had to enter a dispute in order to have the charge reversed. UPDATE 8/30/26: After posting this review, receiving a useless response, pointing out to Lowes how easy it would be to contact us and hearing nothing, then having to enter a credit card dispute, Lowes emailed this morning to reschedule delivery for this coming Wednesday September 2nd. We refused delivery of a broken refrigerator. We and the delivery team tried repeatedly to contact Lowes but after documented hours of attempts failed to get a human. We notified Lowes by chat and received written confirmation by chat the order was cancelled and our card would be refunded, a chat we downloaded for documentation; __________________________ 11:53, Aug 22 - Roniel Arga : We apologize for the inconvenience, this is something that we don't want you to experience, me myself would feel the same if I were on your position, here's what I will do. was my first day working in the paint dept. Amy is the so called manager/trainer. She has no business training new employees who have never worked in a paint department before. I have been in retail for over 30 years with exquisite customer service skills and top notch merchandising capabilities. I just needed to be trained in that area. She was demeaning degrading and downright disrespectful. She told me she didn't have patience. She told me if I ever spilled paint by accident she would have to quit. Asked me why I was working in the paint dept at Lowe's???? Who the hell does she think she is. She is miserable and an absolutely worthless as a trainer. No wonder they can't find or keep employees. We frequent this Lowe's ALOT for various items and Staff is usually very nice/helpful. Today, however, was a bit frustrating. I ran in to pick up 1 item and within a 10 minute period, I saw several Shoppers with Non-Service Dogs. I have severe allergies to Pet Dander (and yes, I am on third year of Allergy Shots and take allergy meds every day, but still severe, ranging from rashes, throat closing, trouble breathing, etc.). I was asking the Cashier about Pet Policy when the Manager on Duty (assuming she was manager-1:15pm on 06/22/23) advised me that all Pets are now welcome. I stated again that I have severe allergies and am protected under ADA, but the Manager did not seem to care. I totally understand Service Animals being allowed (and those animals are on leashes and not running around and into people), but not sure why others feel the need to take their Non-Service Animals shopping at Lowe's and are apparently more important to Management than those of us with Allergies/Asthma that are suppose to be provided with a safe environment in public places and protected by ADA! read more

I was staying in Cape Hatteras for vacation when I accidentally broke a bath vanity. After dealing with the property management, I contacted the plumbing department and spoke to Keith and explained the situation. He went out of his way to accommodate me to purchase an item that was showing out of stock on the Lowe's website. After another phone call was made, I was able to have the item placed on hold for me, which is not normally done. I arrived at the store the following day and with help from Jim, I was able to retrieve the product and make the purchase. I had a quick question about a special order, and was able to easily locate someone to assist me. The staff were friendly and helpful, the store clean and easy to navigate, and the two youngest loved the car carts! So all in all it was a great Lowes run! read more

I needed a piece of lumber cut I had waited for 15 minutes pushing the button nobody came called service desk she stated the saw might be down 5 minutes ago, no sign stating out of order still nobody's here. 30 minutes and a fellow came to empty saw wood and I had to ask him if he could help me. If Lowe's is going to use 3rd party deliveries they shouldn't over schedule. I have multiple rental properties and spend a lot of money at Lowe's every year. Purchased a clothes washer, along with delivery and installation. Before unloading the washer, installer told us there was a major scratch. Why did they not send us a good unit, or at least notify us before delivery that there was an issue. They offered us a 10% discount, which we took because we needed a washer and felt boxed in. Then, they claimed they could not install the washer because of some issue with the drain. So, we called in a plumber, who told us there was nothing wrong and had the washer working in 5 minutes. He confided to us that he makes a lot of money fixing botched Lowes installs. So now we're out $160 for a plumber we should never have needed. If you need installation, don't go to Lowe's. read more

I have a Pro Account with Lowe's and recently used this Lowe's for the first time for a lumber delivery. Never again. First, Even though I specifically asked whether the price included the lower Delivery fee for pro accounts, and the person I spoke with (Victor) Confirmed, I was charged the standard $75. I had to make a phone call to clear this up. Second, I made clear that I needed this wood by the next day. I was told it would be delivered by 10 AM. 10 AM came and went and I called. I was then told the wood would not be delivered until two days later! I needed this wood for a project the next day, which I made clear when I placed the order. and I was assured it would be here. I ordered a dewalt plunge base for my router with a gift card I got for Father's Day. It was a week and half to two week wait and was SUPPOSED to arrive on July 3. I was really counting on it to finish a project with a couple inlays and even waited to finish until I got it. But I never received anything and online when I tracked it is says received by customer. Well I'm the customer and I don't have it, never got it and was late on a build because I wanted to use that tool. I ended up discounting the build because of less detail and taking longer than I said. I correct my mistakes. Not only did my little mans Father's Day gift not come I got cheated out of 75$, I compromised my reputation and lost money my build. I was on the phone for two hours to be spoken rudely to by someone extremely unhappy with their job. I finally just hung up if that's what happens when I order at Lowe's I'll drive the extra two miles to Home Depot and consider Lowe's a mistake I will never make again. When at our (old) beach cottage, sometimes seem to make one trip per day from Nags Head to the Lowe's store north of us near Kitty Hawk. Cumulatively, we have been there many times since they opened, searching for various products. We have consistently had good experiences with the staff and service. I'm an especially frequent patron of the paint department, and they've come up with some excellent matches to paints for me when I needed to do touch ups and had no idea what the original paint was. The staff also are very nice to our dog, who accompanies us anywhere he is allowed. read more

Went to Lowes on May 28th, I spent almost $4,000 I got home and realized they gave me the wrong kitchen cabinet so I took it back. I have never been treated so poorly in my life by the rude and crass customer service person. She proceeded to b**** at me raise her voice at me all because of their mistake. They did not have my cabinet except for one that was damaged. One lady offered to give me a discount but then the customer service rep was irritated because quote " I don't know who she thinks she is because she's not authorized to give out discounts." I then told the rude customer service lady that employee is a good employee for offering the discount to make a customer happy. If she worked for me she would be fired the very first day. I researched a product online to make sure it was in stock at this location prior to visiting the store. The website was super helpful, telling me not just how many were in stock but also which aisle and bay number it could be found. I quickly found the correct area, however, the item was not there. After contacting a member of the customer service team, we were notified that the item had already been removed from the store, because it was considered "out of season." The team member offered to check the warehouse. He did find the item, but his general attitude about being inconvenienced was very poor. Between the manner of the employee and the confusion of the item being "in stock" but not out for purchase, it was difficult to rate this Lowes any higher. We are frequent customers to our local Kill Devil Hills Lowes. We have noticed a steady decline in the level of service offered at the store. We understand the issues with obtaining man power these days and although there are large banners proclaiming "hiring" this really doesn't seem to be the issue here. There are lots of employees, many just seem to be standing around and seem to be indifferent or annoyed if you ask for help. Todays trip to the garden section was discouraging to say the least. The beginning of spring and everyone shopping for plants and they have one cashier in that section with a very long line. The plants are dry, and there are no carts in that section as they are all in the parking lot. Others customers also seemed annoyed. This is not just a one time occurrence and we have experienced the same issue in other areas of the store. Management needs to step up and make better use of the employees they do have. read more

Went to this store in Kill Devil Hills on April 5th around 5:50 in need of a piece of glass. Walked around looking for what isle it was on, I finally seen old fellow by the name of Brian, he said he was busy and would be right back, he must have been a ghost because he never came back!! To make a long story short, No help ever arrived at the glass cutter, so I had to cut my own glass myself!! and it was 6:20 by this time. Other than a lady associate, that that I think was off the clock, that called over the PA for help at the glass cutter, what few workers I seen here were pretty much like a box of white crayons, USELESS!!! read more

This Lowe's is a special place. The customer service is always on point, especially in the outside garden. The loaders are industrious and kind folks--always glad to help with heavy items. Managers here are always willing to answer questions with a smile on their face. HR folks must do a good job with them. But I am disappointed that Lowe's is an anti-union company. Nevertheless, this Lowe's is wayyy better than Home Depot. read more

We have had 2 experiences with Lowes in KDH and neither was very satisfying. Last year we needed a refrigerator to replace one that had died. Lowes had what we wanted but it would take approximately 3 weeks for them to get one shipped in. Delivery would then be scheduled AFTER that long interval. We said MEH....went to HD and got what we wanted shipped in and delivered the same week. Our latest experience was even worse because we did buy a washer and dryer at Lowes with the full understanding that it would require about 2 weeks to get into the store. Since we were not in a hurry, the wait interval in this case was fully acceptable to us. After about 2 weeks we got an evening call that the W&D would be delivered the next day during a certain time interval. Fine and was wowed by the delivery timing, until....................... Next morning we get a call that the delivery people cannot find the W&D in the warehouse. So wife called and talked to John D. in the appliance dept. who told her that someone else in the department had sold our W&D to someone else...................DUH, why wouldn't it have had our name on the shipping labels etc. and why didn't the delivery guys see that info if they delivered it to someone else?? We finally did get the items 7 days later with delivery by (excellent) contractors that have replaced the Lowes employees who previously delivered appliances. WE plan to NEVER buy ANY appliance at Lowes in the future and thus eliminate our blood pressure peaks. read more
