I have been dealing with Lowes since they were on Jefferson Ave. Haven't had to many problems other than the usually stuff. I have read so many negative reviews and finally started seeing the light. For one they are at a point they really could care less about the customer which only leans to a total down fall in business. To take your problem up the ladder like corporate is somewhat helpful but bottom line another waste of time. If you buy something and it goes on sale the next day good luck on getting them to honor their own policy. Their delivery is beyond pitiful on getting them to do what is in black and white. I can see why so many customers have gone to buying on line. Cheaper and no hassle on returns, full money return, you can find the product without having to beg for help. I won't see it in my lifetime but in time I feel the big stores will end up in the past. The bigger you are the harder you fall. Starting to do some gardening so I went to visit Home Depot and Lowe's. What sets the two apart? Home Depot is much cleaner and has better customer service. They also enforce the law about having to wear masks right now. Lowe's on the other hand has no organization, is dirty, does not enforce the wearing of masks and customer service sucks. Only good thing was their outdoor garden area which had a great amount to offer and they do seem to take good care of the plants. read more

on a stressful day I find it very therapeutic to just take a stroll to the store especially the garden center...there is something about the garden center that just draws my attention to it...it is very pleasing to the eyes to see all types of plants and lawn care equipment lined up, properly stocked...the staff for the most part are on average on their customer service...they could really use more of their build your own or DIY workshops for adults read more

We've literally been in here every day since we bought our house. Usually it's petty ok but since we've had to get wood cut it's been different. Is it just customary to have your lumber guys treat customers like dirt?! We needed pickets cut in half and approached a worker who pointed to the cutter and said someone is back there. The worker who talked to us was equally as miserable. The worst part was when we were just about to get it cut that same worker came by and said woah woah you can't cut a picket. The other one laughed and said oh that's great and handed us the wood back smiling because he didn't have to do it. I get that you can't cut pickets but I don't know? I have had some poor customer experiences in the past but never have I experienced the lowest form of professionalism that I have experienced at Lowe's in Hampton Virginia. Between Lowe's in Hampton Virginia & Pokomoke I've ordered over $10,000 worth of home goods doors cabinets lighting etc. They have sold orders out from under me that were bought and paid for, they have called and left messages with no person to contact back no direct number no extension I'm left dialing for dummies it seems. Now they're holding a cabinet for me that my contractor has been delayed a week and picking up in the calling and basically demanding I pick up this piece of furniture. They delayed it for over a month and getting it there now they're concerned about need to lean over a week and picking it up. Do yourself a favor bypass this place! This is the worst home improvement location in hampton roads. I can't make this up. These people have made mistake after mistake. I've tried to be patient but enough is enough. This has gone on long enough over months now. I originally got a carpet estimate done close to the end of February. When I got to the store to pay for the job, I was told the estimate was incorrect and I would have to wait until the person who updates the system was back the next day to make a payment. The original estimate was significantly cheaper; however, no one caught the issue until writing the contract. After finding out the job would cost much more, I explained that I would love it over before deciding what I would like to do. Once I made my decision, I let the sales rep know that I only wanted to replace the down stairs carpet and the vinyl in the kitchen for now as I was under the impression of the wrong amount given to me by the store. Everything was updated according and I waited until both estimates were completed in the system. Mind you a few days have already passed because each time, someone had to update the system with the information. I returned to the store to go over the contracts with Corey. He stated I would need to go to the front to pay for the job. When I reached the register, I explained to the young gentleman that I would be making two separate payments. One via check and the other with my debit card for the difference. The clerk ran the check for the incorrect amount and stated I was good to go. At this point I'm already frustrated at the time it took for me to get waited on to even get the contacts printed. I explained to the clerk that the amount he rung the check for exceeded the posted amount for the check. He realized his error and apologized and stated I would need to go to customer services for them to fix it. No biggie, as if another 2 hours in the store to correct another issue was apparently okay to them. I had to go back again to get the contracts reprinted so the transaction could be done all over again to fix the problem. After paying, I was told to contact Judy for installation and it would take about a week for the carpet to come in. I received a call from Ashley weeks ago stating the carpet and all was ready to go as the Vinyl was in store; however, I've contacted Judy again today and she stated she has been trying to get in contact with the store via email and phone calls due to some discrepancies with the vinyl being measured incorrectly but she hasn't had any luck with them getting back to her. This is completely absurd as we are now in April. I'm the customer and I should not be the one to have to call and follow up with a business that I have paid thousands of dollars to and has wasted so much of my time. I feel this branch is very incompetent at this point. I'm not going to even mention how many times you have to call before you can even reach someone. I would like for my jobs to be completed by Monday of next week or I want a full refund. In addition, I would like to speak to a corporate representative immediately. read more

I've been trying to get appliances delivered since Friday. The delivery company (XPO) has been a nightmare. However, the staff at Lowe's has been phenomenal. I was supposed to get a delivery Friday. It never came. I spoke to Scott and he apologized for the mistake (after confirming that the delivery was scheduled for that day). He rescheduled it for Saturday and the second part for Tuesday (with a note that it has to be delivered after 3:30). Saturday comes around and again, no delivery. I spoke to Bill multiple times. He was on the ball about getting in touch with XPO. They had routed my delivery on the wrong kind of truck and then told him that they couldn't get it to me until close to 9pm (delivery window was from 8-12pm). He wasn't satisfied with that and made sure to get me my appliances much sooner. Tonight, XPO called to tell me the delivery window was between 10-2pm tomorrow. They refused to change the window even though there was a note on it. I spoke to Laura at the store and she took care of it for me. The team at Lowe's has been great even though XPO leaves quite a lot to be desired. read more

LG washer purchased 3 yrs ago fell apart. Agitator came off totally and axel was damaged. Washer was defective and LG would not stand behind their product. Spent 6 weeks fighting with LG until they totally wore me out and I purchased a Westinghouse washer last week. LG customer service is not dependable. They do not return calls or messages and simply string the customer along until they loose all faith and resolve to replacing the item with another make. I will never buy another LG appliance after this costly mistake. Advised Lowes to stop promoting the LG washers. read more

I had a horrible experience here. I went to purchase a wall surround for a bathtub, lifted it off a tall shelf and loaded it into a flatbed cart. I went down an aisle, leaving the large item at the start of the aisle because it was so big. Two minutes later I returned to find my item gone. It had been reshelved. It was not busy in the store, but none of the employees asked to assist in any way. My visit started with an employee closing an aisle I was walking down and making me wait for 20 minutes to even exit the aisle. I left the store and went to Home Depot instead. read more

I want to have Pergo put down in 2 rooms. Went to the store picked out the product, paid for estimate was told would be called in 48 hrs not counting the w/e for it to be done. Called the store on day 4 as instructed and was given the contracting companies number to f/u the next day as it was past 5pm. The company was never sent the paperwork, so they had to f/u. Had to call back again to f/u on estimate visit. That visit was done had to call Lowes again to f/u on the estimate that was done, went and paid at 5pm on Sunday. I have called x2 contractor who states once again they did not get all of the needed paperwork from Lowes do complete the job. Called Lowes again to get that fixed. As I sit today been a week, product delivered in less than 24 hours as paid for but no date set to have it installed. Next time will get my own contractor and skip all of this work!! read more

Where do I start. I placed a order online 2 weeks ago. Lowe's sent me a email and called me stating it was ready for pick up. I told them I would be there Friday, when I arrived at the store I went to pick up where nobody was and rang the assistance button, someone finally arrived after 10 minutes. The lady that helped me was about to get off and had no interest in helping me, she told me she was going to the back to look for my order, which should've been up front considering I received multiple emails stating my order was ready. I then saw her walk out of the exit door in normal clothes and her purse, so at this point I searched for someone else to help me. Finally they bring out part of my order and I told them they were missing my double vanity, they acted as if they had no idea what I ordered. So then this gentlemen goes to look for my vanity, I sat and waited another 35 minutes before he brings out a vanity that is completely wrong and has a whole different name on it. At this point I was quite agitated but kept calm, he got a attitude and went back in the store. I waited 45 more minutes outside so I then proceeded to walk inside where the gentlemen that was suppose to be helping me was standing up front talking to one of his friends about what he had planned this weekend. Then I proceeded to find somebody else to look for my order, they found my vanity which was on the top shelf so then they had to go get a forklift to get it down which took a additional 15 minutes for that. After I get everything loaded I looked at my barn door which was loaded and there was a note on the side of the box that stated "NO DAMAGE TO DOOR" right above that was a huge whole in the box so I looked inside and the door was crushed and I mean crushed, so again I waited for help with that. The purpose of doing online order is to be able to quickly pick up things and when they say they are ready they should be up front. The customer service was absolutely horrible. This trip took me 3 1/2 hours before I was done. Absolutely ridiculous. Oh and if it couldn't possibly get any worse I went home and the following day put my chandelier up I bought I got the whole chandelier up and had it wired and then realized one of the globes was broke. So again I called the store and they told me basically thats to bad and I could bring back the whole thing, which is ridiculous considering I already have it wired by someone I had to pay to hook it up. I can't get over this business and it's employees. I am very disappointed and will no longer use lowes for any of my needs. read more

piss-poor customer service today (7/05) -- went early this afternoon, guessing 2:00ish -- plumbing dept -- only employee was black guy helping a black customer -- waited on them, making it obvious I had questions -- made eye contact twice, he actually walking in front of me through the "cut-through" one of those times -- even followed him and his customer around a bit -- they finally walked out of my aisle but, after a minute, I walked into the main aisle checking on him -- he was still talking with same customer, but he saw me looking -- a minute or more later, I checked on him again and he was gone -- he never once said anything to the effect of "I'll be with you in a moment " or " I'm going to be with this customer a while" -- no communications whatsoever and then disappearing -- Lowe's management, that's one definition of piss-poor service -- this employee needs some serious retraining -- we all know who's paying his damn salary (except maybe him . . .) -- management, feel free to call me, 726-2300 -- I'll be glad to elaborate read more
