Owner was rude! Last…read moreFebruary my husband and I flew to Norfolk and took the ferry to Portsmouth for the day. We found this shop and a beautiful (and pricey) piece of pottery in the front window that unfortunately I could not fly home with. Fast forward to today over 5 months later and it's still there. This time we drive and it was coming home. BUT... when I entered the shop the owner or employee was upstairs and when I said I needed help she continued to yell from above instead of coming down to the COMPLETELY EMPTY store. I explain I'd like to see the piece in the window and the she replies "Well I can't just take it out." I say "Even to sell?" She starts shuffling down stairs and muttering and says "I can't just take it out to look at" under her breath but loud enough for me to hear. Well that was it. We just told her not to bother herself and left. Enjoy your completely empty shop when it's closed because you can't be bothered to actually sell anything. And I agree with the owner... She had zero patience to actually sell anything. Not on the phone not doing anything but sitting upstairs and didn't want to be bothered. Just laziness. If you don't want to sell something big and can't be bothered to move it maybe don't put it in your display window or hire someone not rude and lazy. I try to shop local and support local businesses but if you don't want to be bothered and then LIE about it then you don't deserve the support. And if you were sorry you did a poor job of showing it.

Two years ago we noticed the roof in the kitchen (below the master bath) was deterioting. The home…read morewas original 1972, so obviously had a shower pan leak. We contacted Kitchen and Shower Expo and had them do the work, which entailed replacing the shower pan, some carpentry work, and retiling the bottom section of the walk in shower ($8k). Less than 2 years later, the grout around the drain for about a foot and a half is COMPLETELY gone, it sags a bit, a cut tile by the drain is broke, and now I see a brown spot developing on the ceiling directly below it, indicating a leak. I am a firm believer that crap happens... It just needs to be fixed. We contacted them, and while yes I understand it is out of the 1 year window, they refuse to fix their issue without almost $1000 payment. Fine... The contract says 1 year, they can do that, even though I feel it is a poor business practice not to see that this as something beyond the contract. As she said, "We have never seen damage that bad in such a short period of time." She says it's lack of maintenance, the 3 other companies that have see it in person say otherwise. Being that, I just want to make sure future customers see what COULD happen to them, and weigh the risks. Now, Star will probably come on here and say we didn't maintain it... The original shower had been here for 51 years, and other that your typical wear and tear, the grout was good condition. She's also going to point out a piece of tile that broke off in the corner of the shower, and insinuate it fell off the side trim because of lack of upkeep. That piece of tile was one of the pieces that broke off around the drain, NOT the side trim. I have inspected the wall trim... No piece is missing. They did a fine job along the wall. No complaints there. So, long story short, 51 years, grout was still good. Kitchen and Bath Expo replace it, and less than 2 years the shower itself is worse than it was before. Is this a one off situation? Maybe. It's up to you if you want to risk it.

It's been a few years. I really like browsing Williams-Sonoma, I have for years. Over the years I…read morehave enjoyed purchasing gifts around Christmas and this is what brought me in. I specifically was looking at espresso makers and boy do they have a lot of models, most higher end that I was looking to purchase. The Breville is one of the stores main brands. However, they do offer Delonghi, Phillips and others. While browsing for 15 minutes or so there were staff around stocking and doing administrative task. I was never approached for help and asked. Once I engaged the staff I revived adequate assistance. Ultimately we looked at models to ship and dates. They were offering free shipping anywhere in the country. Unfortunately the ship date was almost a month out. I ejected to purchase elsewhere. I did decide to purchase their famous dish towels. They are the very best, not cheap, but quality. While checking out I snacked on peppermint bark samples, so yum! I'm sure I will be back, but I regret the downgrade with slow service. 3.5 rounding down.

A Sizzling Father's Day Experience…read more Another fantastic Sunday at Williams Sonoma for their weekly Technique Class--this time in celebration of Father's Day, featuring all things steak with a flavorful chimichurri twist! Brooke, the class instructor, is always such a highlight. She's incredibly knowledgeable about all things Williams Sonoma--from cookware to ingredients--and truly makes every demo approachable and enjoyable. She always greets me by name the moment I walk in, which speaks volumes about the welcoming, community feel these classes have built over time. It's one of my favorite Sunday rituals. Today's class was all about learning to cook rib eye steak using their Chimichurri Rub--and let me tell you, it smelled just as good as it tasted. I asked Brooke if I could livestream the session, and while she kindly preferred not to be on camera, she allowed photos as long as she wasn't in them. I totally respected that--being someone who also prefers to stay behind the lens myself. After class, I went straight to the store, picked up the Chimichurri Crunch jar, and decided to recreate the experience at home with some filet mignon and roasted potatoes. Let me just say: WOW. That flavor brought the meal to life, both as a marinade and finishing sauce. The sample in-store was delicious, but making a full dinner with it at home sealed the deal. This is definitely a product I'll be repurchasing. If you haven't been to one of these classes, you're missing out. They're hands-on, informative, and always inspire me to try something new. Shoutout to Brooke for being consistently kind, professional, and generous with her expertise. Already looking forward to next week!
