The Original Mattress Factory - Chesapeake, VA Original Mattress Factory Store

Just bought a mattress 2 weeks ago from the Original Mattress Factory on Portsmouth Blvd in…read moreChesapeake. It was a great experience from start to finish. Patrick, the associate, was very helpful and answered all my questions completely. This is definitely not a "pushy" sale business where you feel pressured to purchase before you exit the store. I took all the information Patrick gave me and went home and slept on it (on my old and lumpy mattress!) and went back the next day and purchased my new mattress. He was very accommodating in scheduling the delivery and set-up. And I can't say enough about the two guys who delivered the mattress. They were pleasant, polite, and very knowledgeable. Thanks to everyone at Original Mattress Factory who made this the best experience ever. I'm sleeping happily ever after! Martha Suffolk, VA

It still worked fine but was getting a tad creaky when adjusting. This new base is super quiet. I love it!!! My salesperson was helpful, knowledgeable and the more important point is he wasn't pushy at all. The 2 delivery gentleman were great as well. They set everything up, and hauled my old base and mattress out. When I asked how they disposed of them, the company donates these items to Habitat for Humanity!! Quality products at a reasonable price and helpful personnel. Highly recommend!!!!

These people have ZERO customer service and they should have zero customers !!! I ordered furniture…read morefrom them, I received one of the two pieces and as soon as someone sat on it, it broke!! They sent out a repair man that could not fix my brand new couch? The chair that goes with it is MIA?? So this is there idea of customer service, they are going to give me back the 200 $ I paid for delivery....and gave me a new delivery date, first they said that they could not deliver until Jan 6th because of the manufacturing department but now they can deliver 2 days earlier cause I'm mad??? I told them if my furniture is not delivered to my house by the end of the day on the 4th of January they can come get every dam piece and stick it!!! They are not the only furniture store in town, so stop acting like I need you......also they need to have better complaint department because the way they do business it's going to be hard to get through to complain with everyone else complaining???? Do yourself a favor and avoid the headache go anywhere else!!!!!!

This store is relatively small compared to other furniture stores. However, I did see a few pieces…read moreof interest. I haven't visited a furniture store in years, and I noticed some things have changed. I remember, maybe 10 years ago, the salespeople would be hawking the doors as customers came inside. But nowadays, they pretend they don't see you, but they do. We entered about 6pm last night, and we were not greeted upon entering. We began browsing on our own... after 10 minutes of browsing, we had to flag down a salesperson for assistance. Not sure, if the hour was getting late or if the salespeople met their quota, but the "pretend you don't see me" vibe was super weird. Nevertheless, we continued to browse alone until the store closed at 7pm. I did see a living room set I liked. I inquired about it... only to find out two pieces of the set are now discontinued... what!? Of all the items in the store, I would pick something that is no longer available. I must say after receiving that news, I was ready to leave. Overall, the store is worth browsing. The pricing is good. But anything beyond browsing... you will have to find out on your own. This store is located near several eateries. Therefore, if you get tired after browsing, you can grab something eat at a fast food restaurant, such as Wendy's or take a seat at a restaurant, Red Robin or AJ Gators. Plenty of parking in this shopping center. Have fun and enjoy life :)

Terrible customer service. I was greeted as soon as I stepped foot across into the store, and asked…read morewhat I am shopping for. I shared that I had a pick up order and the representative states okay. I proceed to the back of the store to get my order. I get to the cashier who then tells me "next time you need to see the rep at the front to get your order". I then tell her that I talked to the rep at the front and told her why I was in the store. The cashier then responds "oh she is hard of hearing" but next time you can check out at the front. What are we doing here? You should've just radioed her if you didn't want to help me. I just came to get my paid products not to start a debate. Please make sure your staff is on the same page and don't undermine or become passive aggressive with your customers. I only want 2 mins of your 6hr shift.

This particular location is closest to me, and I've only been a couple of times. If you've been to a BBW, then this one is no different. Pros: I love the cheery, vibrant décor when I walk in the store. The staff at this location is friendly and helpful--tell them what you're looking for and they will point you in the right direction. I pretty much go there for body lotion because it keeps my skin hydrated in the winter. I also love their liquid hand soap, but I'm too cheap to buy them. Cons: I have a sensitive nose and when I get close to BBW, the scents can be overwhelming. Most of their scents are way too "perfumey" for me, but I enjoy their fruity ones. Of course, the items are expensive, but they do have sales, and they will send you coupons via email. Tip: Remember that what you smell at the store (they like you to spray on a piece of cardstock) it could smell very differently on your body. For example: I bought two different lotions the other day. They both smelled wonderful at the store, but when I got home and used them on me, one was way too strong and perfumey for my nose; it gave me a headache. So, I suggest you buy a small trial bottle before buying a regular size... just in case. (They have a display of trial bottles next to the registers.)
