This is the nicest location I have been in. It has a large selection and the store is very nice. Ms. Alinda was so sweet. She helped us pick out a mattress for our son who lives in another state and set it up so he could pick it up there. It was a flawless transaction. She has a great personality and knows a lot about mattresses. She answered all of the questions we had. I will definitely go back here if I ever need another mattress. The store is nice as well as the customer service, but the communication is awful. We were told that the mattress and adjustable bed frame would be delivered in the two-hour window of 5-7 pm. They then called to confirm and said that it would be from 9:30-11:30 (luckily my wife works from home otherwise we would be screwed). I called the store and they said there was nothing they could do to adjust the timeframe. They did not call 30 minutes ahead of showing up for the delivery, they just showed up. I figured for the price that I paid that the communication between the customer and company would be better. read more

Sometimes, when visiting a business for review you will have The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. This is one of those reviews. THE GOOD: I believe this is the only Mattress Firm left in Hampton, for all the others closed down. Located in the location of the old Harpoon Larry's, this store is newly built, very bright and has a decent size showroom floor. On this visit I was taking advantage of the 120 day review period of a mattress. I love this offer because you just can't go into a store, lay on a mattress and say "this is the one." Well, the mattress I had was too soft so I went back to get something a little firmer. Mattress Firm a Lease to Own option through Progressive Leasing. I highly recommend paying it off in 90 days, if not, you'll pay three times the price. The exchange went well, I upgraded to something new. Was charged a $99 delivery and cleaning fee of the old mattress. I didnt see that one coming, that would have been nice to known when I bought the first mattress. THE UGLY (yea I know, I not going in order but this happen next) Later that day, got a phone call setting up delivery and pick-up Tuesday between 1230 and 2:30pm the next day. So I took off for a few hours to meet the delivery folks at my home. Well, they never showed up and I had to go back to work. Driver called me at 4:00pm and told me that they were on the way. I said, no one is there, I waited for you during the scheduled time and you did not show up. I ask if the driver could meet me at 5:00 pm when I got home. He said "No, people been running late all day, just like you and I have another drop off in Suffolk at 5:30pm." Imagine that, I was on time for my delivery, but because people before me where dragging their feet, I was sacrificed my delivery so they could get caught up. So. I agree to have them deliver Saturday between 3:00pm and 5:00pm. That really messed up my Saturday plans THE BAD: I made a complaint to the store as to what happen, they waived the $99 delivery/clean up fee. They told me the drivers had been running about an hour and forty-five minutes late all day. The drivers arrived on Saturday around 4:00pm. I really wanted to ask them if they were the same drivers who would not deliver but for some reason I did not. As the delivery guys came up to my door, I notice how tired and over worked they were - like they had been doing this all day. I ask how many more deliveries they had and they responded 5. They were very polite, professional and gave me the best service possible. They unwrapped my new mattress, pick up all trash and left with a warm thank you for my purchase. But I could not help to notice how tired these guys were and overworked - I really felt sorry for them. I really don't see how they could fell fit to drive that big truck. Also, I don't think I was delivered the right mattress. I really wanted to write an ugly review in reference to the delivery, but I felt so bad for the delivery drivers that I just couldn't find it in my heart to do so. I notice Mattress Firm has a Red Carpet Delivery. Basically saying they strive to ensure you satisfaction. Well, I think when things go bad, the delivery drivers are on the bad end of the deal. Under paid and over worked if you ask me. Mattress Firm really needs to do better at taking care of its employees. read more

DO NOT BUY FROM MATTRESS FIRM!!! Horrible customer service. I bought 3 twin beds on Black Friday weekend! Was assured by the sales associate/manager that they would be delivered the week before Christmas. They are Christmas gifts from Santa for our granddaughters. They were set to be delivered the Tuesday before Christmas, there was no communication so I called the store around 10 am. They looked into it and told me there was a mix up and they would be delivered Christmas Eve! It was very inconvenient, but I needed them for Christmas morning. Christmas Eve comes and again no communication, so I call the store. They called back to let me know that once again they are not coming. I told Stanley, the associate/store manager, that I would be in after Christmas to discuss whether or not I want to keep the order. You think they would reach out to me on Dec.26--NOPE. I went in on Dec. 27 and made it clear that I was unhappy with the lack of communication and all the mix ups. I offered to give them one more chance. Was promised that all items were in stock. So, delivery was set for today, Thursday, Dec.29, again no communication from Mattress Firm. I had to call at 10 am to get an update. She told me she would look into it and call me back. My call was returned at 1:45 to let me know that my order was not being delivered. She said it looked like I owed $159.00 and they do not deliver orders with a balance???? My receipt shows $0 balance!!!! I owe nothing! And.......why would you not call to let me know? This is the third time that I waited around for a delivery with no communication from Mattress Firm. Went in on Saturday with the intention of trying out some mattresses. Aliya greeted me the moment I walked in and was extremely helpful. I explained my wants in a mattress and my price range and she gave me three options to try out. She explained the mattress construction and I was able to make a selection. The memorial day sale resulted in me saving about $200 altogether. She even helped me pick a delivery date that works for my schedule without having to pay an increased price. I had no issues at this Mattress Firm. Our sales person was very friendly and accommodating and was willing to go above and beyond to ensure that we got the mattress that we wanted and that fit our price range. We interacted over a couple of days because after trying out all of the mattresses we decided we liked the Purple brand the best and she recommended traveling to the Greenbriar mall to Macy's to try out all of the Purple mattresses to see which one we liked the best because they carried all 4 at that location and the mattress firm only carried the 2. After making our decision we opted with the Purple 3 and we were given different pricing options as far as whether or not we wanted to buy a clearance mattress or a brand new mattress. She called the warehouse and several stores to see if they had one available and they did!! She kept me within the price range that I wanted to be in give or take a few hundred dollars, threw in an upgraded base since the one that we wanted wasn't available (not for free but slightly discounted) and had the delivery and everything arranged since we were getting it delivered to DC. The delivery went smoothly and we are very happy with our mattress and base. Be sure to get the warranty on whatever items you purchase and ask for military discount because they do have it. I would recommend this store because I did not feel pressured to make a purchase and I was given a multitude of options before I made my purchase. read more

This was my first and last purchase at Mattress Firm. I ordered a twin mattress on 5/28/2021(Sat) for a 5/30 (Sun) delivery. I refused the item because the packing was completely open at one end and the mattress did not look so new to me. Called 5/31 the Hampton store for a new delivery date. Had to call the store again 6/1. It was rescheduled for delivery 6/5 of course they texted the day before 6/4 @ 6:15PM for Sat 6/5 between 2PM - 4PM. Which was not good for me and there was NO way of making a change because the text msg is only for confirming. Because the text msg was after 1PM the store said they could not make a change in the delivery day or time. That it would take another 3 days before they could rescheduled delivery. Again wait for the text msg and hope it fit my schedule. So then there was a delivery schedule for 6/11 NO item or contact. So because of all of the unprofessional process / procedures on delivery I went back to the Hampton store 6/12/2021 for a refund. There was no effort or concern from the store reference all of the delays. Mattress Firm do not have a way that you can go to corporate with your concerns, so how do things get better. This mattress store is an example of efficiency starting with the initial salesman Robert outlaw (assistant store manager) who took us through a complex but simple mattress for my son. When we went back to order It we talked to Stanley Napoleon(area manager) who reassured us on the choice of mattress and made sure that everything we needed was ordered properly. Finally we saw Schantale Sellers(sales associate) who crunched the numbers and ended up selling us the mattress at a lower price than first quoted. Major props to all 3 of these wonderful people and this absolutely wonderful mattress firm. read more
