Maybe it's my first time so am star-struck... but I LOVE the unique items and the competitive prices of items here. The location is in Hampton VA but it's definitely worth the drive from VA Beach if you plan maybe half a day to include shopping and then maybe movie nearby, At Home is definitely a destination for you to purchase items you thought you didn't need but get inspired to, or get reminded you need to find replacement or update to items and ideas for your home. They had great sale on picnic items, vases and planters. Their vases in particular are of a huge variety of shapes, sizes, material, design. Their small decor are those you'd find in online specialty shops which you can inspect and take home with you instead of waiting for them to be delivered or returned just because there were details you couldn't see. Huge space, bright and airy ambience that gives you a sense of peaceful delight looking through aisles and aisles of unique finds. Friendly staff asking if you're looking for anything in particular. First time visiting this store. I got to my hairdresser's appointment early and decided to give it a go. It's a very large store. It's extremely clean and well kept. I found the prices to be somewhat high in comparison to Marshals and TJMAXX. They have the same setup and a lot of the same merchandise. This is the ultimate Christmas decor store, as well as home decor!! My Christmas tree this year is so cute and chic because of the decorations I purchased here. I love that this location color coordinated their decorations. The employees and staff were helpful and kind. The lines can be long, especially with they only have two cashiers. I will have to say this store does have great prices on houseware items. I was looking for the right chair cushion for my kitchen table and I was able to find the set that felt soft. The prices in the store are reasonable and affordable. I wish that I lived closer to this store to get majority of my items. read more

I'm so torn about this place. I LOVE all of the options available here...but the quality, for the price, is shoot when it comes to the furniture...I'm not sure what I was expecting, but for a 70$ end table you would expect something more sturdy than what I was looking at. I love the fact that this place is like a pier1 in options but is more like a Wal-Mart on the quality. Anywhoo...if you don't care about how long your furniture will last then it is not a bad place to ship for home goods. I think I'll stick to home decor such as art and decorative stuff and leave the furniture buying to a more high quality store. read more

The building smelled of all candle scents you can imagine mixed together, and was so strong I got a headache. The front of the store emitted a high pitched ringing that added to my headache, and overall nobody seemed super friendly. To put it short, it wasn't welcoming and gave me a horrible headache. I'm a sucker for home stores, so when my friend took me along with him to shop for a few things, I almost emptied my bank account in 30 minutes - I had no idea this place even existed! Located in Coliseum Central, just off W Mercury Blvd, with a massive parking lot, the store is divided into sections. Well sign posted making it easy to find your way around quickly, or just take a tour of the whole place if you have time to kill on a rainy day. Perfectly acceptable! What caught me by surprise is the affordability factor; some of these items are VERY well priced, like stylish couches (which look like backbreakers, but actually aren't - amazing!) for $300+/-, or artwork for as low as $5! The outdoor lawn sets are of great value too at the moment with summer creeping up slowly. Well maintained, tidy, and clean, checkouts are fast, staff are helpful; check it out!! I remember seeing this a couple of times when I lived in Virginia but never thought to go look in or see what it was about. So, fast forward to now; I have my own spot and I am looking for really cool stuff to fill it with. On my way to The Colosseum in Hampton Virginia I saw At Home. So, I thought to myself, well I'm sure they have stuff here and boy was I right. Y'all, walking in made me fall in love, I was stunned! I didn't know which part to tattle first, I felt like a kid in a toy store. I walked around amazed by everything I was seeing, I wanted everything! Literally, everything! From the front to the middle all the way to the back! One of the staff members asked me was there anything she could help me find and I replied "Ma'am, I don't even know what I'm looking for at this point" we laughed about but I was so serious. Every inch of this store amazed me, she told me that they had an even bigger store I believe in Charlottesville Virginia and I was replied "Bigger than this?" It took me time to walk around and view everything, I had to walk around twice and I still don't feel like I got everything but I am so glad that I've found this gem. I love how the store is set up by seasons, trinkets (color coded), fragrance, furniture, photos, bedroom, throw rugs, mirrors, bathroom, and home & garden. This makes it simple when seeking the right touch to complete a room or inspiration. The store hours are reasonable also considering night time is when I have free to actually try and be creative. I must say I am a huge seasonal decorator. If you are this will be your sanctuary. They have holiday items out early and by sections. You can plan a wedding, decorate a home, buy a mirror, purchase a Christmas tree, patio furniture, and get Halloween blow ups all on the same visit. I had never heard of an At Home until this location opened up near me. It's a pretty neat store with lots of household items. My fiancé could spend hours in this store (while I take advantage of their sofa/outdoor section and have a seat...). The store is broken up by sections, which makes it a lot easier to navigate. They have patio furniture, couches, desks, mirrors, wall art, and so much more. My fiancé mainly goes in for their pet and living room section. They have everything you need for your pet (beds, bowls, leashes, food containers, and etc). We recently went in to purchase a couch. It was very cheap compared to big box stores ($300). The customer service is excellent and the staff are willing to help you find whatever you need. We will definitely be back! read more

I could spend hours here! I feel like whenever I tell my husband I want to go to At Home he grumbles and complains because of that fact. They just offer so many things that I want to take my time to browse through all the isles and marvel at everything. Everything is affordable. There's just about everything at every price range that it's impossible to walk out without a bag in your hand. They have amazing sales also that contribute to that fact. I love all of their arts and their seasonal things that are always front and center. Everything is well maintained and clean. Their customer service is A1 as well. I used to shop at the At Home in Chesapeake fairly often. I noticed prices creeping up but I ignored it because they had unique items. Last night I decided to stop at the Hampton store to look for a couple pieces I needed for our new place. I was amazed how expensive the furniture had become and how poor the quality had become. Seeing nothing in my price range, I decided to check out the clearance section and then head out. Imagine how excited I was when I found a beat up but still salvageable cabinet in the clearance section. There was a 50% off clearance sticker on the top with a manager's initials and 39.99 written in pen on the sticker. Perfect. I loaded it on a flat bed and went to check out. Got up to the register. Pointed out the sticker to the cashier. She scanned the item and it came up as 399.99. I pointed out again that it clearly said 39.99 on the sticker with the manager's initials. She called a manager. Manager came up and I explained what was going on. She said "Well, that's wrong. There should have been another 9." I very politely stated that the price listed was 39.99 and that mistake wasn't my fault. I just wanted to purchase the beat up cabinet for the advertised price. She got pretty rude and told me that there was no way they would sell it for that no matter how it was marked. I told her there was no way that this beat up cabinet was worth 399 or even 100. At that point I left so as not to back up the only cashier lane. Very disappointed in the customer service and the refusal to admit they had made a mistake and honor the posted price. Went to the new location in Hampton VA yesterday and was thoroughly impressed. Large showroom floor with isles after isles of things for your home. The prices are affordable! At the check-out area, the reason for the low prices is printed on the wall. Lawn furniture, home décor, kitchen, dinning room and every other room in your house is here At Home. When I got to the check out, the line was very long, but an employee told me it goes fast and it did. The ladies at check out were so friendly and speedy. They wrapped my delicate items in paper and showed great care. Make sure you get out here! I wish they accepted Apple Pay but I think not having it keeps the prices down. The merchandise here is nice and prices are reasonable... But the customer service is horrible. There's a lot of younger people working there that do not know much about anything(which isn't their fault) they are working under poor management. Spoke with the manger about something I wanted that wasn't available except for the scratched up floor model and he was awful. So rude and short with me. He simply didn't was to help me at all. While they have a lot of nice merchandise in this store the service is absolutely atrocious. Our cashier was very rude and didn't apply the actual discount she was supposed to. When my wife called the next day the manager didn't ask for details of the incident but said she'd talk to the employee without details of what happened. This store will break me. My wife loves this place and wants to spend the entire day wondering down al the isles. We have been here 3 times and have not had any problems with the products. The price is right and the selection is great. Some talk bad about the service, but the 3 times I have been 2 of them the service was great and my last time there was only one cashier with about 8 in line and when it was my turn to go up they got another cashier to open up. But if you engage the cashiers in conversation they were polite and helpful. The only reason I gave this store a 4 star was due to the lack of personnel out on the floor to help answer questions or direct you in the right direction. read more
