This review is in particular for the kitchen/cabinet and appliance area. We were looking to re-do our kitchen and met with Janna M. Throughout the process, she was very thorough and helpful. She ensured all measurements were accurate, and went the extra mile to ensure cabinet installer had correct measurements. She talked through possibilities and would bring up potentially problematic areas. She was extremely responsive-answering any questions within 24 hours. Janna also has a good eye for what goes well together and was helpful in offering design suggestions. The cabinet and appliance departments also worked well together. Annette and Adam were particularly helpful with our orders and ensuring we got refunded when the appliances we purchased later went on sale. All in all, we are pleased with the kitchen remodel process and would not hesitate to recommend Janna for such a project. read more

We were attempting to find 4 chair castors and fittings. We looked but had no luck in finding the appropriate and common pieces. We flagged down an associate, but he could not find them either, even though I showed him a picture. He finally flagged down another associate - one who was older with a lot of badges on his Lowes vest. He looked at the picture and quipped "we don't have those", and walked away without offering any help or alternate suggestions. This encounter is why I hate shopping Lowes. We left and went to our local ACE Hardware store, Burk Brothers, a much smaller shop, whose associate greeted us at the door and upon seeing the picture took us directly to the exact item we needed along with the proper drill bit tool we would need to help fit it to our chair. Customer service is terrible. I tried to return some lightbulbs that my husband bought a couple of days ago on his credit card. I just grabbed them because I knew I needed to get some different ones and thought I would make an exchange but no the unhelpful return person said I had to have the original credit card or the receipt or I could not exchange them for a different lightbulbs. And I said well it's a shame that Lowes is going to lose a customer because of $10 lightbulbs, but I'll be happy to take all my business directly across the street to Home Depot. She very sarcastically pointed out the return policy, which is in font size 2 on the wall like I'm supposed to have memorized it, again very smug, rude and unhelpful. Lowe's - Cary, NC has the absolute worst service I've ever experienced. I've been trying to get 2 ceiling fans installed for about a month and it hasn't happened in spite of the fact that the price of installation was outrageous- they sent people that didn't show, they sent people that came without the right ladders even though we gave them the ceiling heights, they cancelled orders for service for no apparent reason so that the contractor didn't show. What a sham operation. Getting our money back and canceling the order completely. Do not use them for service. Additionally, when we bought the fans it took about an hour to get checked out because they couldn't figure out how to add the service component and we were supposed to get a 15% discount and that never happened either. read more

0 stars. I just recently had flooring put down in my condo in Cary. While I had many options, I chose Lowe's to ensure that I could receive a warranty on the craftsmanship and flooring. Lowe's has contracted Legacy (not my choice) and it has been a disaster! The job was not finished, there is damage to my walls, "surprise" 1k costs for leveling and I am still waiting for them to finish the job after 10 days. I was told by Lowe's that the district manager from Legacy would be in touch with me about the issues, however I have yet to hear back. Legacy's answer to repairing my newly painted walls was to send someone out to clean them. How is that a solution? I can take paint off the walls myself. Legacy has not been responsive, accountable, professional and now I wonder about the quality of the installation itself. While I generally like Lowe's as an organization, I will definitely think twice about using their products and services for my homes in the future. This location has the most helpful associates I have encountered in most any type of store. I entered to quickly get a simple light fixture because the electrician was coming to replace a broken one. I wasn't quite sure where to find them or what I needed, but Randy 2// very helpful in seeing me as ai searched and taking me to the right product, and then explaining the differences. He was also helping another customer in that aisle. I then went in search of a doormat and saw him as I was looking, and he showed me a display up front near where we were standing and also told me the exact aisle in the back to find more. The cashiers were standing at the end of their register aisles ready to help people and they greeted me as I passed by. I went to the garden center area to see if I could find a pretty plant (I was dog/house sitting for my son in Cary, and was trying to fix up his place a bit for his return.). I didn't find anything in the garden center that I thought he would want, and as I re-entered the main store area, a nice employee with short light colored hair asked if I need any assistance. I told her thank you, but I did not, and I proceeded to the check out area. There were several in the lines, so I opted for a self checkout. A smiling older African American associate pointed me to the empty register and I began. I was using a gift card for much of the purchase and wasn't sure how to apply that. Bernice was working in that area also, and was so very helpful and friendly in coming over and assisting me with applying my gift card and paying the balance. ...My son did not like the door mat, so I stopped at the store on my way back out of state to return it. The person at the customer service counter was handling a complicated issue with a customer making some sort of payment, so Sewanee came to a small register area on the left and offered to help us if we had a return. I went to her and she was very friendly and efficient. I really appreciated that since I had a 6+ hr drive ahead. I had seen a flower that I loved for my lamppost area in TN and had picked it up on the way in to make the return. She put my credit on a store card and then applied it to the plant, and now I have a beautiful pink Mandevilla in my front yard to remind me of the kind and helpful employees at this Cary Lowe's store :) read more

I give this store a one star rating simply because giving them a zero is not an option. I have tried to report an issue using the website. Unfortunately, the website suggests that I call the local store. The website provided a phone number for the local store. I called the local store and was told that they are not responsible for any installation issue. Then he suggested that I call the same number and ask for a different department. I called the number and I was immediately connected to 'hold music'. I waited for over 10 minutes. No one ever answered the phone. I will continue to call. It appears that Lowe's is anxious to sell something. But the last thing they want to do is talk to a customer about the service to address a problem. I just called again and after the phone rang I was immediately cut off and hung up on. I called again. After the phone rang more that 6 times. They dropped my call. It looks like I need to make an in-person appearance to solve this. (Ugh) read more

DO NOT use this Lowes to install ANYTHING! I used them for a fence installation and it was such a mess that they refunded me almost 50% of the cost. I thought they could handle a simple door installation, however, the partners they use for install are horrible, have poor customer service and poor communication. They moved the install date / time without advising and then were snarky when I called about it as I wouldn't be home that day. Have always enjoyed going to this Lowes for my home improvement needs. Usually avoid the weekend crowd since the associates are busy trying to help everyone. If you know what you need and where to find it, then awesome you're good. Literally the WORST customer service I've ever experienced! After dealing with them for a month over the same issues, I am still out over $1,000, have a defective ice maker and have spent over 3 hours on the phone "holding" for someone. What can you say about a hardware store that almost everyone reading this has been to. They have it all under one roof. Anything to do with home ownership, you can find it here. From sprucing up or repairing, it is all under this roof. The staff is friendly and what is unusual. When I go there, someone always asks me if I need assistance, not help, but assistance. Great choice of positive words. You know they have a great selection of screws and nails, well just about anything else that has to do with hardware. Watch out the the Hot Dog Vendor as you walk in. It's no secret that in today's retail environment companies hire people just to fill positions and won't put out the extra money to hire employees who are truly knowledgeable about the departments they are going into. Home improvement warehouse box stores are usually the worst example of this ... And then every so often you come across an employee who really wows you with their knowledge and confidence to show you how a project needs to get done. I had that experience today when we met Jerry in the garden department who competently advised us on how to plant a new lawn and fruit trees in the North Carolina environment. He has 30+ years experience in the landscaping field and patiently explained everything to us step by step. This store is absolutely horrible. Ordered a fridge for delivery, got one excuse after another as to why they couldn't deliver it. Finally they just stopped calling to even give the excuses anymore. Tried calling the delivery department multiple times, got put in a transfer loop until finally getting a busy signal after about 15 minutes. Every. Single. Time. If you shop this store, don't even think about asking for delivery of your item, you'll probably never see it. read more

-10 WORST CUSTOMER Service. I bought a patio furniture and paid for the delivery. We agreed for these items to be delivered the following Saturday ( 6 days after the purchase/ only 4 boxes).. I was waiting the whole Saturday morning and nothing. I decided to call to the store and they told me that they change the delivery. I ask why and no answers. They didn't even called me or sent me an email.. Randy, Lowe's employee, told me that if was not happy they can refund me the money and that Home Depot have the same brand of my furniture.. UNBELIEVABLE...I called other customer service number to report this and no answers after 40 minutes waiting.. I have never seen such a horrible delivery process. I went with a neighbor who is 92 year old to purchase a washing machine. Lowes was directed to coordinate delivery with me. They did so on the first delivery, but the machine was damaged and they took it back. I talked to a number of individuals in an attempt to find out when replacement would be delivered. Again, I told them to contact me (they had my number on file) and five days later they show up at my neighbors house without me being contacted. The poor guy didn't know what to do. They couldn't figure out how to get it into the house, nor did they have any tools to install it. They didn't know how to turn off the water and said he needed a plumber. They put the machine back on the truck and left. He called me but I was unable to catch them. He didn't need a plumber as I was able to turn off the water easliy. They could of come in the back which would have given them easy access. Needless to say I had to call again. Lowes couldn't find the order and kept wanting me to call a another number which i did. Another week has passed and each time I call they have trouble finding the order. They finally said it would be delivered on Thursday of that week, Thursday came and went and I called again and was told it would be delivered Friday, then again a no show. Next they stated it would be delivered on Saturday. My neighbor got a call ono Saturday and he couldn't understand them, but thinks they said it would now be Monday. Over the last few weeks, I have been frequenting this particular Lowe's and plunking down buckaroos for everything from toilets to tile and from paint to carpet installation. I have to admit that lately whenever I go into Lowe's, my heart starts beating a little faster. All the plans that I have for my little home overwhelms me when I start searching for the items that will complete my latest DIY (do it yourself) home project. Yeah, I like to do it myself. However, for the carpet installation, I decided to have Lowe's install carpets in my upstairs area because of their great specials. It took them a while to schedule their estimate and installation date. Let's just say that I ordered the carpets on 12/31/09 and they are here today to install the carpets on 1/25/10. So...yeah, sometimes I prefer to do it myself. Overall: Great products to accomplish your DIY home projects. Customer service is good, but you have to remember that they are about making the sale and closing the deal. They have wonderful deals for carpet installation from time to time. Remember to read the fine lines for extra charges for carpet removal and disposal, moving furniture, extra for stairs/closets, and breathing. (OK, I was joking on the last one item) read more

The staff here hands-down is the best staff I have Worked with at a home improvement store. They have great recommendations and they also know the product very well they are always willing to help no matter the situation. The delivery service is always great to use and they even take the old stuff away and they did help a set up the new product. They always lay out the seasonal or weather appropriate products to the front of the store so they are easy to find. The isles are laid out so that I can find what I need easily, as a young woman I'm not really sure what I need all the time and they make it easy to find. read more

Came to this location on 8/1 at 2pm after a frustrating experience with Home Depot's paint section. Conversely, my experience with the paint associates here was top-notch. Did not get their names but it was a man and woman working the counter. There were several customers waiting for paint to be mixed or to ask questions. The associates were multi tasking - helping several customers at the same time and checking in with others to inquire whether they had been helped or to update them on the progress of their order. They were also very friendly. Good job by these two employees and Lowe's. read more

I had the worst service and I didn't even go into the store! I ordered a washer and dryer online and called in the next day to make some changes to my delivery schedule and add parts to the order. Biggest mistake. Their phone service doesn't work, it will take you through the menu over and over without getting to a person. You have to hit 0 to get to their customer service phone person, which gives you attitude when you tell them you've been going through their automated system for 20 mins. After you talk to them, you get taken through the automated system again and hung up on another 15 times. I had to give up and call the next day because I didn't have 2 hours to spend on the phone to make an adjustment to my order. It took me 3 days to get my problem handled. Why have an automated system if it doesn't work? Even when you speak to someone and get "transferred" I was still being hung up on over and over. If I didn't work all day I would have gone in, but from the other reviews it doesn't look like anyone else had any better luck in the store either. read more

I just purchased a refrigerator from Lowe's that included delivery and install. It took about 2 weeks to schedule delivery. I live in a townhome and the foyer area has a ceiling above where the first flight of stairs begins. My kitchen is on the 2nd floor so the refrigerator would have to go up one flight of stairs on an angle. When the delivery folks arrived, they said that they could not get the fridge up the stairs because they are not allowed to tilt it. I ended up with a lovely, brand new fridge in my foyer. A warning would have been nice from the Lowe's staff when I placed the order. Had I known that they would not be able to get it up my stairs, I would not have waited 2 weeks to order from Lowe's. Think twice about going through Lowe's and ordering large appliances. read more

You see, I have a tree branch pulling on a wire hanging over my house. My luck, they had 1 pole saw left on display. They refused to sell it to me b/c of 'policy'. I asked to speak to the manager. I waited while Rebecca called Todd the manager while Ron at customer service started his sentence to me: 'I don't want to mouth off to you but...' Rebecca told me Todd the manager (who never came out) said no. Said the display didn't have a battery and 'it was policy'. I said I had plenty of other 40v batteries from my many other Kobalt tools. I asked to speak to Todd the manager personally but Ron and Rebecca said 'no'. I expect a low level of service these days from retailers but I was hoping to receive some humanity from my fellow NC residents during the impending hurricane. I wish I had read some of these reviews prior to ordering anything from Lowes. I ordered a fridge and it was "resourced" from the Cary store. It never showed up on the day it was scheduled. No call - nothing! I called the store, was put on hold and hung up on. Went to the Wake Forest store (closest to home) and they were no help. The man there was actually a bit hostile. I drove 30 miles to the Cary store and was there at 7:30am next day. The manager Allen Duncan passed me off to someone else because he was too busy to handle an upset customer. I was told that the fridge I order and was supposed to arrive was actually out of stock and I should have received a phone call (Fail!). So I picked out 4 others that I would take instead. They had one model in stock and I was told I would receive a call from Annette when she arrived. No phone call. I call and spoke to her. She said she would take my info and call back. No phone call. I called around 2pm and was put on hold, hung up on and passed around. I finally got tired of this and drove 30 miles back to the store. I walked to the desk and asked the woman "Are you Annette?" She said with full attitude "Who's asking?" This is where I really got aggravated and admit I started screaming so everyone in the store could hear me! They did not have any refrigerator to offer me- the manager did not know how to use the system and read things wrong in the morning. No one bothered to call and tell me this and forced me to drive to the store. They tried to figure out how to get me another fridge but could not. So I started solutioning because these people can't think out of the box. I asked for a floor model. "Oh, no we can't do that!" My response: "Why? you don't have any to sell anyway!". Annette was sitting there making faces the whole time!! (how NOT to do customer service). After causing a scene, the manager finally agreed to giving me the floor model. He said it would be on a truck to my house at least by Saturday. No refrigerator and it is Sunday. I called yesterday and actually got someone on the phone. She said (and I quote) "We don't know how to get your refrigerator on the truck." You deliver appliances - how do you not know how to get one on a truck!!! This is such a colossal failure on so many fronts! And we as customers have no recourse. What can I do? Can't sue Lowes for being stupid! read more
