This review is in particular for the kitchen/cabinet and appliance area. We were looking to re-do our kitchen and met with Janna M. Throughout the process, she was very thorough and helpful. She ensured all measurements were accurate, and went the extra mile to ensure cabinet installer had correct measurements. She talked through possibilities and would bring up potentially problematic areas. She was extremely responsive-answering any questions within 24 hours. Janna also has a good eye for what goes well together and was helpful in offering design suggestions. The cabinet and appliance departments also worked well together. Annette and Adam were particularly helpful with our orders and ensuring we got refunded when the appliances we purchased later went on sale. All in all, we are pleased with the kitchen remodel process and would not hesitate to recommend Janna for such a project. read more

Do not ever choose Lowes installation! We paid to get our dishwasher installed, and the installer was absolutely inept. He used cement screws and made holes in the sides of our dishwasher. He bent the top of our dishwasher, and he made a groove in the side, which would leak. He also scratched the front of the dishwasher on both sides when he put the handle on it. The whole thing was in crooked, and we knew it was not right, but we lived with it for over a year before we started having problems. Since we waited over a year, nothing was covered, and the only thing Toby, the assistant manager, could do was sell me another dishwasher. Definitely go to Garner Appliance, and definitely never use Lowes installation services. If Lowes cares to look at how much we have spent over the last 30 years at their stores, they would be shocked! You lost a huge customer. read more

Purchased chairs to be assembled and delivered on Tuesday. Received message on Tuesday that their assembler only assembles on Tuesday. Changed delivery until Saturday. Even funnier, after this I received a text saying the delivery was on its way. Terribl customer service. read more

We were attempting to find 4 chair castors and fittings. We looked but had no luck in finding the appropriate and common pieces. We flagged down an associate, but he could not find them either, even though I showed him a picture. He finally flagged down another associate - one who was older with a lot of badges on his Lowes vest. He looked at the picture and quipped "we don't have those", and walked away without offering any help or alternate suggestions. This encounter is why I hate shopping Lowes. We left and went to our local ACE Hardware store, Burk Brothers, a much smaller shop, whose associate greeted us at the door and upon seeing the picture took us directly to the exact item we needed along with the proper drill bit tool we would need to help fit it to our chair. Now - that is what I call service and expert help. You can't compare read more

Customer service is terrible. I tried to return some lightbulbs that my husband bought a couple of days ago on his credit card. I just grabbed them because I knew I needed to get some different ones and thought I would make an exchange but no the unhelpful return person said I had to have the original credit card or the receipt or I could not exchange them for a different lightbulbs. And I said well it's a shame that Lowes is going to lose a customer because of $10 lightbulbs, but I'll be happy to take all my business directly across the street to Home Depot. She very sarcastically pointed out the return policy, which is in font size 2 on the wall like I'm supposed to have memorized it, again very smug, rude and unhelpful. This is after waiting in line for 10 minutes while she piddled around and talked on the phone instead of taking the next CUSTOMER in line. read more

Rented a truck from Lowe's for the first time and head cashiers Beth and Michelle were incredibly pleasant, patient and helpful. I was honestly surprised by how smooth the transaction was and would recommend coming to this Lowe's for fast and friendly service. read more

Came in for window coverings and left with a smile. A staff member found me and personally helped me. I was confused between two products and he broke down the differences for me. He explained the process of installing the coverings and made me feel so welcome at the same time. I definitely would come back and shop here!! read more

Lowe's - Cary, NC has the absolute worst service I've ever experienced. I've been trying to get 2 ceiling fans installed for about a month and it hasn't happened in spite of the fact that the price of installation was outrageous- they sent people that didn't show, they sent people that came without the right ladders even though we gave them the ceiling heights, they cancelled orders for service for no apparent reason so that the contractor didn't show. What a sham operation. Getting our money back and canceling the order completely. Do not use them for service. Additionally, when we bought the fans it took about an hour to get checked out because they couldn't figure out how to add the service component and we were supposed to get a 15% discount and that never happened either. read more

EXTREMELY helpful staff. From the assistance I received in paint - both timely and informative - to a friendly and helpful checkout experience to Fabian and Justin going *above and beyond* in an effort to help me relocate my cabinet door I misplaced, I was blown away by the helpfulness of this staff. This level of customer service and satisfaction is hard to come by these days, but they nailed it. A 6 star experience! read more

Horrendous customer service. Stay away. Bought a stove with the installation and they never installed it.

We ordered an over-the-range microwave online and opted for the free store pickup here. We chose to order it from Lowe's because it was the best deal that we could find. Before picking it up at Customer Service, we ordered a few paint samples. The service in both departments was slow, I think it could improve in being more helpful and friendly. read more

0 stars. I just recently had flooring put down in my condo in Cary. While I had many options, I chose Lowe's to ensure that I could receive a warranty on the craftsmanship and flooring. Lowe's has contracted Legacy (not my choice) and it has been a disaster! The job was not finished, there is damage to my walls, "surprise" 1k costs for leveling and I am still waiting for them to finish the job after 10 days. I was told by Lowe's that the district manager from Legacy would be in touch with me about the issues, however I have yet to hear back. Legacy's answer to repairing my newly painted walls was to send someone out to clean them. How is that a solution? I can take paint off the walls myself. Legacy has not been responsive, accountable, professional and now I wonder about the quality of the installation itself. While I generally like Lowe's as an organization, I will definitely think twice about using their products and services for my homes in the future. Their vendors represent them and Legacy has done a poor job of doing so. read more

This location has the most helpful associates I have encountered in most any type of store. I entered to quickly get a simple light fixture because the electrician was coming to replace a broken one. I wasn't quite sure where to find them or what I needed, but Randy 2// very helpful in seeing me as ai searched and taking me to the right product, and then explaining the differences. He was also helping another customer in that aisle. I then went in search of a doormat and saw him as I was looking, and he showed me a display up front near where we were standing and also told me the exact aisle in the back to find more. The cashiers were standing at the end of their register aisles ready to help people and they greeted me as I passed by. I went to the garden center area to see if I could find a pretty plant (I was dog/house sitting for my son in Cary, and was trying to fix up his place a bit for his return.). I didn't find anything in the garden center that I thought he would want, and as I re-entered the main store area, a nice employee with short light colored hair asked if I need any assistance. I told her thank you, but I did not, and I proceeded to the check out area. There were several in the lines, so I opted for a self checkout. A smiling older African American associate pointed me to the empty register and I began. I was using a gift card for much of the purchase and wasn't sure how to apply that. Bernice was working in that area also, and was so very helpful and friendly in coming over and assisting me with applying my gift card and paying the balance. ...My son did not like the door mat, so I stopped at the store on my way back out of state to return it. The person at the customer service counter was handling a complicated issue with a customer making some sort of payment, so Sewanee came to a small register area on the left and offered to help us if we had a return. I went to her and she was very friendly and efficient. I really appreciated that since I had a 6+ hr drive ahead. I had seen a flower that I loved for my lamppost area in TN and had picked it up on the way in to make the return. She put my credit on a store card and then applied it to the plant, and now I have a beautiful pink Mandevilla in my front yard to remind me of the kind and helpful employees at this Cary Lowe's store :) read more

I give this store a one star rating simply because giving them a zero is not an option. I have tried to report an issue using the website. Unfortunately, the website suggests that I call the local store. The website provided a phone number for the local store. I called the local store and was told that they are not responsible for any installation issue. Then he suggested that I call the same number and ask for a different department. I called the number and I was immediately connected to 'hold music'. I waited for over 10 minutes. No one ever answered the phone. I will continue to call. It appears that Lowe's is anxious to sell something. But the last thing they want to do is talk to a customer about the service to address a problem. I just called again and after the phone rang I was immediately cut off and hung up on. I called again. After the phone rang more that 6 times. They dropped my call. It looks like I need to make an in-person appearance to solve this. (Ugh) read more

Have always enjoyed going to this Lowes for my home improvement needs. Usually avoid the weekend crowd since the associates are busy trying to help everyone. Found them early on the week days and the associates are usually able to help you find what you need. Abe in the front checkout is always able to help me find and get what I need. read more

DO NOT use this Lowes to install ANYTHING! I used them for a fence installation and it was such a mess that they refunded me almost 50% of the cost. I thought they could handle a simple door installation, however, the partners they use for install are horrible, have poor customer service and poor communication. They moved the install date / time without advising and then were snarky when I called about it as I wouldn't be home that day. I will be asking for another refund due to the poor service provided. read more

Leaving a good review because this store for some reason has really bad reviews. I had a great time. I asked someone for help, they pointed me to who could help me, the person who responded to help was quick and answered all my questions - even asked me questions I didn't know to ask him, and I checked out quickly with no line at the self check out. read more

Damarius needs a day off. She had a nasty attitude at Customer Service for returns. I even went as far as to say "I hope you have a great day" to cheer her mood but only got a blank stare with no comment, as if she was upset about life. Hopefully, you can find some peace and happiness in your life Damarius. read more

Three Stars? Really? I must come on weird days then because my experiences here have been far from 3 stars, and yet, I'm clearly a glutton for punishment because I keep coming back. If you know what you need and where to find it, then awesome you're good. If you need help, May the odds be ever in your favor and may God have mercy on your soul because it's a frustrating experience to find someone to help. Once you've found a person, 15 minutes later, you're good- unless of course it's something like you need paint mixed because they'll have just one poor guy working to help the 3 other customers ahead of you. I just... I feel bad for the employees, I feel bad for the shoppers. It's not a fun experience to come here. read more

What can you say about a hardware store that almost everyone reading this has been to. They have it all under one roof. Anything to do with home ownership, you can find it here. From sprucing up or repairing, it is all under this roof. The staff is friendly and what is unusual. When I go there, someone always asks me if I need assistance, not help, but assistance. Great choice of positive words. You know they have a great selection of screws and nails, well just about anything else that has to do with hardware. Watch out the the Hot Dog Vendor as you walk in. You know where those dogs come from ? Neither do I. read more

Literally the WORST customer service I've ever experienced! After dealing with them for a month over the same issues, I am still out over $1,000, have a defective ice maker and have spent over 3 hours on the phone "holding" for someone. Was hung up on when I asked for a rude employees name and was totally ignored. Had 3 service deliveries/service calls that was told would be there at a certain time and came hours after- after I had to call to find out what the deal was. Unacceptable! Will NEVER shop there again! read more

It's no secret that in today's retail environment companies hire people just to fill positions and won't put out the extra money to hire employees who are truly knowledgeable about the departments they are going into. Home improvement warehouse box stores are usually the worst example of this ... And then every so often you come across an employee who really wows you with their knowledge and confidence to show you how a project needs to get done. I had that experience today when we met Jerry in the garden department who competently advised us on how to plant a new lawn and fruit trees in the North Carolina environment. He has 30+ years experience in the landscaping field and patiently explained everything to us step by step. If the store manager of this location is reading this, GIVE JERRY A RAISE AND HIRE MORE PEOPLE LIKE HIM IN EVERY DEPARTMENT!! read more

Over the last few weeks, I have been frequenting this particular Lowe's and plunking down buckaroos for everything from toilets to tile and from paint to carpet installation. I have to admit that lately whenever I go into Lowe's, my heart starts beating a little faster. All the plans that I have for my little home overwhelms me when I start searching for the items that will complete my latest DIY (do it yourself) home project. Yeah, I like to do it myself. However, for the carpet installation, I decided to have Lowe's install carpets in my upstairs area because of their great specials. It took them a while to schedule their estimate and installation date. Let's just say that I ordered the carpets on 12/31/09 and they are here today to install the carpets on 1/25/10. So...yeah, sometimes I prefer to do it myself. Overall: Great products to accomplish your DIY home projects. Customer service is good, but you have to remember that they are about making the sale and closing the deal. They have wonderful deals for carpet installation from time to time. Remember to read the fine lines for extra charges for carpet removal and disposal, moving furniture, extra for stairs/closets, and breathing. (OK, I was joking on the last one item) read more

This store is absolutely horrible. Ordered a fridge for delivery, got one excuse after another as to why they couldn't deliver it. Finally they just stopped calling to even give the excuses anymore. Tried calling the delivery department multiple times, got put in a transfer loop until finally getting a busy signal after about 15 minutes. Every. Single. Time. If you shop this store, don't even think about asking for delivery of your item, you'll probably never see it. read more

-10 WORST CUSTOMER Service. I bought a patio furniture and paid for the delivery. We agreed for these items to be delivered the following Saturday ( 6 days after the purchase/ only 4 boxes).. I was waiting the whole Saturday morning and nothing. I decided to call to the store and they told me that they change the delivery. I ask why and no answers. They didn't even called me or sent me an email.. Randy, Lowe's employee, told me that if was not happy they can refund me the money and that Home Depot have the same brand of my furniture.. UNBELIEVABLE...I called other customer service number to report this and no answers after 40 minutes waiting.. This was actually my Mother's day gift but now I have to wait until Monday. oh I have to call my work that i can't go to the office bc I have to wait for them to come without even telling me at what time.. UNACCEPTABLE!!! read more

Great store. Wide variety of items, and friendly customer service who are willing to help. I will say this, most of the time men have more expertise than women, some women are naive when it comes to home improvement merchandise and will not know what you are talking about when you ask them where you can find something. read more

The staff here hands-down is the best staff I have Worked with at a home improvement store. They have great recommendations and they also know the product very well they are always willing to help no matter the situation. The delivery service is always great to use and they even take the old stuff away and they did help a set up the new product. They always lay out the seasonal or weather appropriate products to the front of the store so they are easy to find. The isles are laid out so that I can find what I need easily, as a young woman I'm not really sure what I need all the time and they make it easy to find. read more

I have never seen such a horrible delivery process. I went with a neighbor who is 92 year old to purchase a washing machine. Lowes was directed to coordinate delivery with me. They did so on the first delivery, but the machine was damaged and they took it back. I talked to a number of individuals in an attempt to find out when replacement would be delivered. Again, I told them to contact me (they had my number on file) and five days later they show up at my neighbors house without me being contacted. The poor guy didn't know what to do. They couldn't figure out how to get it into the house, nor did they have any tools to install it. They didn't know how to turn off the water and said he needed a plumber. They put the machine back on the truck and left. He called me but I was unable to catch them. He didn't need a plumber as I was able to turn off the water easliy. They could of come in the back which would have given them easy access. Needless to say I had to call again. Lowes couldn't find the order and kept wanting me to call a another number which i did. Another week has passed and each time I call they have trouble finding the order. They finally said it would be delivered on Thursday of that week, Thursday came and went and I called again and was told it would be delivered Friday, then again a no show. Next they stated it would be delivered on Saturday. My neighbor got a call ono Saturday and he couldn't understand them, but thinks they said it would now be Monday. I wish I could give no stars on this review. read more

It's fine, and it's a pretty standard home improvement store. I'd consider myself only somewhat handy -- if I can fix something myself, I'm thrilled, but most of the time this kind of thing is daunting. Horrible horrible customer service. No one knows what way is up. Never dealing with this Lowes location ever again.

Came to this location on 8/1 at 2pm after a frustrating experience with Home Depot's paint section. Conversely, my experience with the paint associates here was top-notch. Did not get their names but it was a man and woman working the counter. There were several customers waiting for paint to be mixed or to ask questions. The associates were multi tasking - helping several customers at the same time and checking in with others to inquire whether they had been helped or to update them on the progress of their order. They were also very friendly. Good job by these two employees and Lowe's. read more

I had the worst service and I didn't even go into the store! I ordered a washer and dryer online and called in the next day to make some changes to my delivery schedule and add parts to the order. Biggest mistake. Their phone service doesn't work, it will take you through the menu over and over without getting to a person. You have to hit 0 to get to their customer service phone person, which gives you attitude when you tell them you've been going through their automated system for 20 mins. After you talk to them, you get taken through the automated system again and hung up on another 15 times. I had to give up and call the next day because I didn't have 2 hours to spend on the phone to make an adjustment to my order. It took me 3 days to get my problem handled. Why have an automated system if it doesn't work? Even when you speak to someone and get "transferred" I was still being hung up on over and over. If I didn't work all day I would have gone in, but from the other reviews it doesn't look like anyone else had any better luck in the store either. read more

I just purchased a refrigerator from Lowe's that included delivery and install. It took about 2 weeks to schedule delivery. I live in a townhome and the foyer area has a ceiling above where the first flight of stairs begins. My kitchen is on the 2nd floor so the refrigerator would have to go up one flight of stairs on an angle. When the delivery folks arrived, they said that they could not get the fridge up the stairs because they are not allowed to tilt it. I ended up with a lovely, brand new fridge in my foyer. A warning would have been nice from the Lowe's staff when I placed the order. Had I known that they would not be able to get it up my stairs, I would not have waited 2 weeks to order from Lowe's. Think twice about going through Lowe's and ordering large appliances. read more

Update 11.13.15 - My kitchen has been now almost four years, and it's still beautiful! They did a fantastic job and the cabinetry and countertops still look like they're brand new. Original review 2011 - I guess there's Apple vs. IBM people, then there are Lowe's vs. Home Depot people. I really like Lowe's, in particular this Cary store. I bought a large kitchen appliance there after their salesman Joe explained the different brands and their strengths and weaknesses. The people are friendly without pouncing on you, and they work well as a team with one another which in turn helps the customers. I've been working with Harry in the kitchen remodel department on a design and he has been generous with his time and expertise, and enjoyable to work with too. I ordered the cabinets and countertops today... I'll update my review once the remodel is complete, but if the result is as good as the process it should turn out just fine. I can't comment on other departments because these are the two I'm familiar with, but next time I need something I'll just skip past the store across the street and pop into Lowe's. read more
