I don't think I've ever been at this particular location before. It's huge. I mean I was surprised when I walked in at just how big it is. Something that often happens with very large hardware stores is they become incredibly disorganized and dirty but not this place. Absolutely clean. Everything is beautifully organized. This time of the year there were a bunch of large outdoor Christmas displays and there were updated signs indicating two left in stock. This is the last unit as a display unit. So very clear signage that was clearly up to date. Friendly service. We went there to pick up an item and we're seen immediately got our item and then we had to keep looking around for a while before we left. I'm definitely going back to this location; it is the nicest I've seen! read more

My 88 year old mother bought a Whirlpool dryer on March 31st. After one use, she noticed the dryer was not working correctly and making loud noises. She called Lowes who refused to replace it and said she had to go through Whirlpool to have it fixed. Here is the list of what was broken: 1) 2 broken rollers for the drum 2) Drum is missing the front seal 3) Drum is missing the rear seal 4) Drum was not completely attached At this point we have waited 2 separate days for repair men that take a week to give an appointment and then we need follow up appointments for parts. My family and I will no longer purchase appliances from Lowes nor Whirlpool. After just one use, the item should have been replaced by Lowes. Came here on a Tuesday and they were open till 10 PM. I needed some keys to be cut and they had a key cutting station that you can use on your own, which is definitely nicer than in Home Depot because at Home Depot you need to get a employee to help you cut the keys and sometimes it takes forever to get a hold of someone to help you. The cheapest key you can get at Lowesy was a brass key for $5. They also offer a buy two get a third brass key for free promotion. They do have different designs available in store or you can also ship them to your house. They also offer a digital copy of your key saved. read more

It's beginning to look a LOT like Christmas My review might be slightly biased as Christmas is my most favorite holiday of all time and my face lit up like a kid when I walked in and saw all of the Xmas holiday decor. Outside of the Xmas decor, the store was pretty well stocked, what they told me online was in stock was ACTUALLY IN STOCK. Aisles were neat and staff was courteous. Not sure why the overall low rating but I didn't experience any disappointments during my visit in November 2024. read more

Visited today with a $10 gift card burning a hole in my pocket and an intent to get a planter on my mind! And a snake plant. I traversed one of the worst plaza parking lots in MD to the more calm Lowe's area, parked easily near the nursery area, but I was dismayed to see the gates to the outdoor garden section (where I normally go in) were closed. So I had to hike to the nearest entrance, which was mostly ok - was able to quickly find and procure a cart there. Went inside and cracked a left in the direction of plants. I didn't see any snake plants in the first rows of plants I passed so I headed back to the planters on the shelves. And was mostly unimpressed by the offerings. A lot of the shelves were bare, and the planters that were there had very specific patterns that didn't work with my decor. I was also looking for planters with attached drainage trays, and there were very few of those. However, there was one I've been eyeballing for a while, so I grabbed it, plus another large planter (sans attached drainage tray) with good coloring, and a small white planter (also sans attached drainage tray) with a cool texture/shape. Then I went hunting for a snake plant. News flash: NO SNAKE PLANTS AT ALL. This store barely had ANY plants AT ALL. It was super sad. The ones they had looked pathetic. So crazy to see after all the plant lushness I experienced at Home Depot recently. Headed to checkout with the 3 planters. This was a simple and easy process and after I hustled to my car with my purchases, excited to get home and see how the planters fit into my space. Alas, I'm only keeping one, the one I originally had my eye on. I'll make my returns to either the Baltimore Canton Lowe's or the Lowe's in Columbia. Hopefully they'll have some planters I can exchange for, or perhaps a snake plant. We'll see. read more

It's not the location that I am angry about, it's the business and finance office. Lowe's did me wrong! After a late payment account was paid in full before the next cycle. Two weeks after payment, I received an invoice which I was angry about until I realized I owed Lowes no money. I tore up invoice and threw it away. Today, I received an invoice for finance charges owed. Man, do I wish I hadn't thrown that invoice away! Now I owe $2.60 to Lowes. Are they really that hard-up for money? I don't think so. Lowes has lost a customer for Life-I am done. It cost me a 5 cent envelope as they do not send for payment anymore-in fact, they charged me for printing an invoice, 50 cent stamp and the check was almost $3.00 to sent. I am out a little over $6 on a $2.60 debt. A-holes as they are not worth it! I can walk to Lowe's but I will be driving to Home Depot. read more

I'm helping my boyfriend renovate a new home that he just bought, which has been so much fun(his ability to have a vision to build something is INCREDIBLE). A lot of work but man, it's bonding and a new experience so win win! This has been our go to lowes for everything we've needed. Friendly, timely, and just all around good. One of packages disappeared after saying it'd been delivered (I believe it was a new sink he ordered) and they helped him quickly solve the problem and it showed up the next day( a week after it said delivered)! So they also helped fix that as well. Here are some really cool photos we took in progress of tearing down a ceiling full of plaster that had the "popcorn" ceiling look. 6/10 I purchased a stackable washer and dryer . To say their service was bad would be unfair. The more accurate characterization would be that there was no service. After going to Home Depot and finding they were out of stock of the drain pipe I needed, I went over to Lowes. Happily they had what I needed, but I needed help from a representative to ask a quick question about the product. I walked around the department for about 5 min and after not being able to find a single employee I went up to the front desk. The person at the checkout said she would page someone and that I should wait for them back in the aisle. After waiting another 5 min I went back to the front and we repeated the whole process again. It has now been 15 min and I have been unable to get help. This time I go over to the customer service desk and they say they will get someone to help me. I wait here for another 5-10 min while the customer support reps chat with each other and ignore me while I wait for someone to come. (he was in the back of the store was the explanation for why I had to wait so long). Finally the rep showed up and helped me. 2 min later I was out the door with what I needed. TLDR: The people on the floor helping customers are great, 5/5, but the staff working the register and customer service desk do not care at all about customer service. I don't think this is representative of other Lowe's locations as I have typically had good experiences. read more

I had flooring done in 2021 and spent a large amount. I had them come out three times for the floor separating and it was repaired well after the warranty ran out they don't want to be responsible even though it's the same issue and they don't want to be responsible for it. My flooring looks horrible I don't recommend anyone to use Lowes for flooring. I have a tone of pictures I wish I could post so you could see the work and how awful it is!! Today 6/5 Here we go again..this same order that is supposed to be here today, but according the the tracking up date, its showing that it has been shipped to my store for over a week now and I have not received any updates at all..the pymt is till pending , however again, I see Lowes is trying to put it through again, making me pay 2 for it. What is goin on...customer service which I'm on hold with now (for 10 min) are not friendly nor helpful..somebody call the store and get me my items plz. Completely ridiculous what I just had to go through and am still dealing with. A fridge was ordered because the one we had was broken, hadn't looked in it, hadn't been cleaned, honestly assumed it would just go to the dump when we paid for the haul-a-way service which is extra. There isn't anything in any paperwork that says any thing really about the process just that you pay for it and they take the old machinery away after the newly bought appliance is delivered. When the delivery guys get here, I open my front door to him already opening and prepping my screen door for the appliance. That's totally ok and normal tbh, but unfortunately in this circumstance I thought it would have been more efficient and less strenuous for both of them if they came in through the back way, which is literally right next to where the kitchen is, which is where the refrigerator is that needs to be hauled away. When I open the door before I can even say anything the look on the gentleman's face truly says more than enough. He looks me up and down: from my feet down to my head and back to my feet. As I'm about to explain the mess in the living room, which is another reason why I assumed that going through the back might be better for them, this little frown and look of disgusts is on his face. Now I have to admit as I mentioned my living room, with there being a full family in the house children included isn't the most pristine in the moment, however that look of judgment is really not necessary especially when I had an alternative plan. Nevertheless I try to explain to him that very thing,and he talks over me and tells me that no they'd just rather go through the front. He comes through the house after I tell him please come through but I don't think that might be the best. He's continuing to speak over me and he goes to open the fridge which hasn't been opened in weeks due to it being ...broken! So it's not the cleanest thing in the world. He make this rude inappropriate comment, and then says we can't take it like that and proceeds to leave with no additional explanation. I want to reiterate that nowhere in any of the delivery information anywhere does it say that anything should be set up, processed in any sort of way, etc. Had it said that, we would have more than gotten it ready, that is not a problem! It's just that nowhere did it say that! This is in the beginning of the morning of Friday and I'm already two meetings in from work and in the middle of another meeting having to deal with this. From this point on out it is this man literally lying saying that I had an attitude and that was the first reason as to why they left, which that is not why, and then going on to ignore me asking and calling out to him in regards to the purchased merchandise still sitting in his truck! He proceeds to ignore me, goes back to his truck and drives away with the items I've purchased but have not been delivered, and with the item that needs to be hauled away per the haul away service I paid for still sitting in the house. Attempts are made to contact him by the number that was left the man answers and hangs up repeatedly. We have tried to contact the store to no answer, and there is currently a 15-minute wait time with corporate. At this point in time I do not yet know how or if this will be resolved but this has left such a disgustingly bitter taste in my mouth not just in regards to this location but in regards to Lowe's as a whole. Stay tuned. Update: firstly, it's very interesting how suddenly there are five new five-star reviews for this location when I put the original review there were a lot of negative reviews and rightfully deserved. As of today Wednesday 9/14/22, we have not heard from Lowe's. We have not heard from the fourth party delivery truck people that they hired that never delivered and never installed and has since stolen our merchandise. I asked a employee walking if they could call some she said sure she walked away and I never heard an announcement for help. I waited for 5 minutes before I yelled out that I needed help someone called for someone and I waited almost 8 minutes and still no one showed. I purchased a stackable washer and dryer. Upon receiving the delivery today, I had to learn from the delivery guy that I needed a "stacking kit." Can't use the kit from the old washer and dryer, and he didn't have one with him. #1 - Why is a stackable unit sold and delivered without the ability to stack them? #2 - Why, if it's sold separately, would the sales associate not mention that? So now I have a stackable washer and dryer that aren't stacked and can't be hooked up, because the delivery guys wouldn't stack them, fearing they would come tumbling down and I'd have grounds for a lawsuit. I've called customer service twice, and each time after speaking with someone they put me on hold for 10 minutes, then disconnected the call. read more

if I could give them negative stars I would. I have someone from Lowes come out and give me a quote on a fence project. I decided to use Lowes for the project. the sale man took my information, changed me for the project. this was all fine with me. The sales man, said he would make sure the installer would call me with in a week. I waited 2 weeks. then I reached out to the sales man who never got back to me. He was super engaged with me until I paid for the project, then he checked out. I have now had to call Lowe's instillation number once or twice a week. Every time I call they put me on hold and try to reach the installer, of course every time they say they can't reach the installer. Then they tell me they will escalate the issue, and follow up with me. That hasn't happened once. I've always call back a few days later. They tell me the same thing. A month later, I still have no install date. I started thinking, I had been scammed. And that some how it was a scam. I expect a large company like Lowes to be efficient and able to manage doing a project in a timely manor. I will never use Lowes again, this has been a horrible experience. In September 2022 we decided to go to Lowe's and look into having a fence installed. We wanted a vinyl fence, so we wanted to see what our options were. We met with a sales person, and he scheduled a date to come to our home to do measurements and let us know our options. We had our in-home consultation the following week, still in September, and we ended up singing a contract for a wooden privacy fence to be installed. We had to contact the city and pay $100+ for a site plan so the installer would know exactly where the property line is located. No problem. October and November came and went, and we heard nothing from Lowe's. In comes December, and I receive a notification that I have a credit card payment due on my Lowe's card. Confused, I look at my card, and notice the full charge for the fence on my credit card. Imagine my surprise, considering we had heard NOTHING from Lowe's. I proceed to call, and after getting the run-around for 4 days, finally filed a dispute with the credit card company, as not only did we not have a fence installed, we had no idea what the status of the project was, or when it would start. I started calling Lowe's weekly for a status, and every time I called I was given a different excuse as to the reason for the hold-up. The excuses ranged from they didn't receive the site plan, which I knew they had because I had emailed it to them 3 times already, to they were waiting for a permit, to the permit was denied multiple times because they, Lowe's, sent the wrong site plan (I checked with the City permit office in April 2023 and they had not received a permit request for my address since 2013), to the ground was now too hard and cold. It has been one excuse after the next, and here we are 8 months later, May 2023, and we still have no fence, and no idea if or when we will be getting one. To this date, Lowe's has called me 4 times, 3 times trying to deliver fence supplies they apparently ordered (December, January, and February), and a manager called in April to say the person we did the contract with was no longer there and didn't complete the paperwork correctly so that is why the permit wasn't issued, and he asked me to send the site plan yet again. We refused delivery of the so called fencing supplies because we have no place to store planks, cement, and whatever else they wanted to deliver, not to mention, they still don't have us scheduled for an install. During my many calls to Lowe's trying to find out if we are ever getting our fence installed, I was given the name of the contractor they use for fence installations in my area. I looked up reviews and found the contractor has the worst reviews imaginable, from split planks due to poor installation to differing fence heights, again due to poor installation. I have contacted Lowe's again, this time requesting cancelation of the contract since they have not been able to complete the job in a reasonable amount of time. Never did we imagine that 8 months later we still would not have a fence installed at our home. Of course, no one from Lowe's has responded to my calls nor my emails requesting cancelation. The sweep was too short, and I emailed my salesman and called the store multiple times to get this fixed. Purchased four appliances and paid for delivery and set-up. Two were delivered on time. Two were not and a variety of reasons (excuses) followed. More than two weeks after purchase, the two appliances were delivered but one was damaged. Lowe's agreed to replace it. They scheduled replacement delivery multiple times. The delivery company, local store and corporate agent had different versions, sometimes saying appliance was on the dock, it was out of stock, or it wasn't picked up, usually one source contradicting the other. Forty-two days after purchase and multiple missed delivery appointments and excuses, the damaged appliance was removed and replaced. I make no recommendations and offer no advice. This Lowes on Rt. 40 has to be one of the worse in regards to customer service. We visited to purchase the Kingsford Charcoal 2-Pack 18.6 lbs on sale for $9.88. The charcoal was in stock, but the nightmare occurred when we went to checkout. There were NO associates at any of the registers when we went to checkout, but at the self service registers there were three associates just talking and laughing and paying us no attention what so ever. My friend asked who was working the registers so that we could check out and they looked at us side eyed for busting up their conversation, really? Then one of the associates attempted to find someone else to help us (is this crazy?) when they were clearly not doing a thing. As they went to find an associate to help us, another one of the three stooges finally said they would assist us. They did, but l mean really? And that is why l would rather go to the dentist and have a root canal then visit this Lowes. read more

Went up front to find anyone and was directed to supervisor lady. Wanted a particular mower but only box on floor was torn up. Many up on shelves but needed assistance (forklift) to get down. LOWES - Baltimore Pike, Rte 40 It took communication, patience, and Lowe's team - My project's complete! It's amazing!!! Renovated my home: flooring, roof, electric (heavy up), painted 3 levels, tiled a few walls, gutted the basement and created a full apartment, planted the most amazing garden, fencing, added a walkway, built two patios, and more... Completion took nearly two years. Every time I arrived at Lowe's a customer service rep was happy to assist. The staff's mixed - new and experienced. Regardless of their level of knowledge I showed up prepared to ask questions. I made sure I understood the projects, although contractors completed most of the work. I felt the oneness of knowledge was on me. Did my research before each task. I always needed a conversation with, what else should I know? Is there a professional onsite who could offer more resources or knowledge? How familiar are you with this type of project? In every case, I received honest feedback. Appreciated the team. Went in for a few things to fix up the old homestead. A little disconcerted when we arrived as there were two big light towers that had police signs on them. Apparently so much crime in the parking lot that the police need to have two cameras installed just to keep the lot safe? The store is fairly well stocked but some of the shelves were in disarray. Had a little trouble finding some of the items we needed as they weren't put back in the right area. Needed to get some paint and couldn't find anyone to help us out at the paint counter. Finally found it on our own and did the self checkout. Went outside and we were relieved to see the car was still there. read more

I entered into, and paid for, a fence installation from Lowe's #0624 located 5900 Baltimore National Pike, Baltimore, MD 21228 on 16 February 2019. The fence was delivered on 7 March. During the delivery of the material, the existing fence was damaged. The installers determined the incorrect material was delivered and "notified" the company. The wrong material was left in the yard with the existing fence not repaired. Multiple phone calls and emails were left undelivered until 19 March was notified delivery of the new fence would occur. Never came with no answer on any of my queries into the problem, was actually notified by the store that the order was deleted. Multiple calls and inquiries have dodged the issue with no fence, that I have paid for. I am refurbing my mother-in-laws house in Baltimore and seriously considering never working with Lowe's again if this is how customers are treated. I paid for an installation which the work has not been completed. read more

I special ordered a item from this location a week ago. Got a call today saying my item is in and can be picked up. Came in went to customer service to pick up item. There are 6 people at the desk. They call for someone to come to customer service no one ever comes. Then they call the person to bring my order up. I have waited for over an hour for the item. Went to the back myself to the appliances section where the night time manager came across me and asked if she could help me. And within 10 min she had my order. This needs to be addressed when your forklift operator is just hanging out down the aisles on the forklift when he was also called to get the item down. read more

I would rather drive to Columbia than have to go to this Lowe's. The store was dirty and the staff was incompetent. I asked for a couple of gallons of paint along with a couple of samples. After mixing the first thing (a sample which came out fine by the way), the guy decided the paint mixing machine was broken for the rest of the day and walked away. OK then ... This is a good Lowes if you know exactly what you want and where to find it, but if you have to ask a question / get lumber cut / interact with staff, you will be left waiting.
