I have been driving past this Lowes location for years and didn't really know of its existence because I have a Lowes in Mooresville much closer to me that I shop at regularly. But my Lowes doesn't sell compactor trash bags for some reason and I have been going to the Bloomington store because it avoids traffic with practically all interstate travel for me. This Lowes does carry trash bags for my trash compactor and I saved a trip elsewhere because I came to Avon to shop at Best Buy and eat lunch. We also took a look at the outside garden department but only about half the stock was out because it's still early in the planting season. I used the check out in the garden area and got quick service. I found a garden tool I didn't know I needed until I saw it in the lane. read more

I haven't really had any stand-out moments from this location. Don't really have a choice as this is my closest big-box hardware store, so we frequent this one. We've bought an array of things from including appliances, plants, paint, wood... Each time there's never enough employees and no cashiers up front. Tried placing a "same day" pickup order last time and ended up picking the items ourselves as it was taking all day, called and we were told we were "at the very bottom of the list". read more

Has to be the worst Lowe's customer service there is because the young guys walk around and know absolutely nothing, mor do they evwn attempt to assist. The cashiers are helpful. I called three times today to ask about glass cutting, but no one ever answered and each call was re-routed to the same area 3x each. If your conyractor bought something and you try and return it WITH A RECEIPT, they will not refund unless it is to the contractor's credit card. Well he has been paid, so I want the refund back to me. Nope, can't do it. Bunch of crap. Woman working in the paint section was extremely rude and unhelpful today. Went in twice today, once for samples and later went back for gallons of paint. When attempting to ask her a question, she said, "you have to stand over there and wait, I'm busy" and pointed to a counter I was 3 ft. away from. Every other employee I had spoken to was helpful and polite but after asking one question about paint labels on my second trip back, I got "I don't know ask Sherwin Williams" and when I attempted clarify, I was met with, "I'm not going to argue with you." After making my paint order, she slammed the can on the counter and said, "here you go" before promptly walking away. Most unhelpful and rude employee I've spoken to at this location. read more

I like the Avon location very much. Lowe's staff is friendly, the garden center seems larger than West10th Street, have wide isleways and stock more annual and perennials. Unless it's crazy busy carts are usually keep close to the garden center. When we've purchased heavy items (blocks, cement, garden soil) we've had help loading. I really like their garden center and more often than not find what I'm looking for. The tropical and succulent area is fairly small but has a nice selection as well. The patio furniture is nicely displayed with an assortment of outdoor rugs, pillows with oodles of lawn and garden decor from lanterns to statues. We pop in this location often to pick up those unexpected items homeowners find they need. We've had good luck in the paint department, building supplies, patio, lawn and garden department, hardware, lighting and seasonal area. Homeowners know how many little projects pop up quickly so it's easy to be in here, or similar location, weekly. Lowes is the closest home improvement store so we are here often. We've used their contractors twice at the West 10th Street location and was not disappointed with their service and work. read more

I have had good experiences and bad experiences at this Lowes, but none of them have been great. Don't get me wrong, I've been able to find all the items that I've ever looked for in this store. Finding someone to help isn't the easiest task, but usually when you can find someone they are super helpful. The paint section employees are usually pretty friendly and help us decide what type of paint to get. The biggest problem I have with the store is the cashiers that check us out. We have a military discount, and you can't use it at a self scanner for some reason, so we always have to go to a regular checkout. I've never experienced a friendly cashier here, to the point where I almost dread checking out because I know that an attitude is going to be present. It is however the closest home improvement store, so I go here strictly for convenience. Just wish the cashiers were nicer! read more

Went to store on Wednesday to get carpet they told me someone had to come measure it if we wanted them to lay it. We were scheduled for 1-4, so my husband took off work to meet them. 4:00.and they still had not arrived. Called Loews the guy in flooring was helpful and contacted them they said they were still doing measurements on appointments. I discussed it's Friday night and we had plans. He said he was at a house and would be leaving to come our way. It's 5 pm and they are still not here. Do companies think that people have nothing better to do then take off work and then still not have the people show up on time. When did we stop living where people scheduled appointments and came atthe time they say they will. Companies tell you a range of times. So you miss work and then don't show up at the time they say they will. read more

My wife and I stopped in to get a dishwasher. We left without buying one and the experience was terrible. The only person working in appliances was tied up for a long time (10 plus minutes) and never offered any "sorry, I will be with you soon". We went to the front to see if we could make the purchase and we had been asked to wait (then told we had to go to appliances due to wanting to purchase an install). By this point we are about 20 minutes into the visit. We went to appliances again and the service guy moved on elsewhere to other customers. My wife told him we were trying to buy an item and he was very condescending and rude to her. I would recommend avoiding this place like it is COVID-19. read more

Super nice people, BUT everything I want is 2 to 3 weeks out MAYBE and if I need a part for something I already bought from them, they don't carry it any more. This kind of "out of stock" and discontinued items just doesn't work when doing large scale home improvements. Worst thing is an area Lowe's store will say they have 15 of an item and you go there to buy and they have none. Has happened over and over. And, I did call first. I'm getting really really tired of bad communication. The people on the Pro Desk at the Avon Store are awesome, but they're working for a company that has real big supply side and communications issues. I was shopping in the Lowe's Avon,Indiana location. While I was looking in the lawn furniture department a very nice, young lady named Janet asked if she could help me. I explained that I was wondering if Lowe's would cut some 4X8 sheets of drywall into 2X8 sheets and didn't know where to go. Janet took me over to the building area and introduced me to Todd who said that would be no problem. I could pick up the next morning. I shopped in the paint area and when I got to my car, Todd called and said my drywall was ready. I have a Beatle Convertible and 4X8 sheets would not have fit. They helped me put the drywall into my car. I absolutely love this Lowe's and Janet and Todd were such great people to help me with what I thought might be a problem request. We are frequent Lowe's visitors! The location is super handy and this particular Lowe's seems to be well stocked with all the right stuff. It's easy to navigate and find the products that you need. If you have a receipt, the return policy is very generous. Service is kind of spotty. On our most recent visit, we encountered a very, very rude staff member in the paint dept. We've also had really good luck with a handful of staffers. The good thing is that if you're already here, you can work it out on your own. read more

ordered a new patio door on february the 1st of this year, it came in 5 weeks later and the installer brought it out to install it but when he measured the opening he found that the door was too big and had been measured wrong by two differneent people , so now they have to reorder a new door so im looking ay another 4-5 weeks before it comes in and another week before it gets installed. this will be my last time i buy from lowes. very poor service. read more

My wife purchased a Craftsman chainsaw for my birthday in January 2020. I did not have an opportunity to use it until June 2020. It worked fine. I tried to use it again on July 12, 2020. The chain would not remain on the blade arm. When I took the unit back to Lowe's I was informed it was past the 30 day return policy since it was purchased in January. After a couple of install experiences (of which I've shown photos), I have come to the conclusion that the only thing this store is good for is going and in and carrying out what you buy. The staff, for the most part, is helpful and wants to make a difference. There are a few however that really shouldn't be in a job dealing with the public. Their installation services are beyond the words that I could write here, use your imagination. The bottom line - DIY!!!! Maybe I'm expecting too much? Unfinished projects that I paid a finished price for remain incomplete or not installed as advertised. The filth and debris they leave behind is inexcusable. Such a disappointment. When they call to check on their install, if you disagree with how things went they hang up on you. They really don't care about the consumer, they merely go through the motions. I feel like I own stock in this Lowes, or maybe that I could stock the Lowes? I'm so familiar with the store I'm pretty sure I gave an employee directions on where to find something one day. Not having a large hardware in our small town, it's the next burb over to get what we need. Service is always outstanding, generally always stocked with everything we need and if not they offer to order it. This location takes such good care of us I find myself disappointed if we have to stop at a different location just because we are out and about. read more

When you as the customer have to involve the Avon Police while 7 employees and 2 managers want to argue and fight with you instead of counting what you HAVE, I would keep caution at the location. The 7 employees and 2 managers refused to count how many boards I had on my trailer but counted the left over pile and said it was right. After the police showed up the lady officer counted what I had, read my receipt , then had to RUN MY DRIVERS license but not any of the employees involved. Once I told them the police were on the way they quickly said "" GRAB THE 7, which nobody counted ) and GO. NO WAY.. You going to call the police and say I SLOLE????? 220 pieces on a skid. The customer in front of me got 100 and employee loaded. One employee counted out 20 and said that was my pile.. Short by 7 and when I picked out 7 and turned the guy tries to snatch them out of my hands. read more

On July 2, 2018 I had carpet installed in my home. The carpet had a minor defect. No big deal. But since then I have spent more than 2 hours on the phone, made multiple visits to the store, and I've sent 23 emails attempting to get my situation resolved. My last correspondence was on October 19, 2018. I sent my signed consent for a 40% discount to Noelle Rengnez, who works for Lowe's, and Vicki Anderson of Mohawk Carpet (the carpet manufacturer). I have heard nothing from either of them. It's been 121 days since I paid full price for defective carpet. I will never set foot in this or any Lowe's ever again. Nor will I ever purchase flooring from Mohawk Flooring. Their products are defective AND you have to pay full price. I've learned a valuable lesson and you've been warned. read more

The man that works in the paint section his name is Tim. He is the most unfriendly and rude employee I have encountered at any business. I've encountered him there 3 times and have been appalled by the way he treats customers every time. When I have asked questions he answers sarcastically like I'm stupid, I'm not a paint expert you idiot and it is your job to help me. He also made me stand and wait for 25 minutes when no one else was waiting and when he finally walked over he said "I thought you had a duby in your mouth" and still didn't ask what we needed. Today I was standing in an aisle grabbing paint and he reached from behind me almost touching me and took a can without saying a word. I came into Lowe's in Avon Indiana this to buy a lawnmower this morning. An employee of yours named Robert and I don't know his last name. He answered several questions I had and was very personable. I saw on your web page that you delivered and when I was putting order in to deliver I found out there was a $79 delivery fee. We tried the credit option which was declined. I told him what kind of car I had and he thought we could get it in the back seat which did not work either . He then said we could probably get in trunk if out of the box. I was ready to pay the delivery fee and he said let's try what I mentioned up above first including taking it out of the box. He did everything he could to try and save me that delivery fee. He saved me about $80. Just wanted Lowe's in Avon and future shoppers that this young man named Robert was and incredible asset and Lowe's needs to know that!!! read more

Worst Lowes I have ever been in. Crap stacked in the center of the main aisles throughout the store makes it a navigational challenge. Today I went in to buy some Scott's Turf Builder fertilizer. The bags I needed were on the backside of the display and the only way to get back there was to climb over/around a pallet of unmarked cardboard boxes blocking the way. Once I got back there, I noticed the most of the bags were hard as a rock signifying the fertilizer became damp and hardened into concrete like clumps as it dried. After digging down a way I found a bag that didn't feel like hardened concrete and I pulled it out and climbed back over/around the pallet blocking the aisle. It was then that I noticed the bag had a tear in it and was leaking. I left it where it was and left the store. I will never go back. The Lowes in Mooresville is a little further away, but much better managed and ran then the store in Avon. read more

Been doing a lot of home improvement lately and have tried Lowes' competitors here and there. Lowes by FAR exceeds my standards for a home improvement store. Lowes has outstanding looking plants and is always in stock of whatever product I need to purchase. One of the Garden Center employees saw me picking up bags of mulch and happily offered to help. He even offered to help me unload them in my car but I politely told him it was needed and thanked him for it. I will continue to use Lowes for all of my home improvement needs! read more
