After a long week of work, it was great to meet up with friends at the Lowe's Foods beer den for their Friday night specials.... $4 flight! Hands down, this is the best deal in town! It may not be the trendiest spot around, but you won't find $4 flights anywhere else! We don't make it every week, but on weeks we're able to, we stop in and have a great time. The beer den staff is always friendly and happy or offer samples. You can also buy full pints to take with you as you do your grocery shopping, or grab a snack and hang out with your friends while enjoying a flight or a pint in the beer den. While there last week the bartender told us they'll be renovating the beer den at this location over the next few weeks, but it should not cause any shut downs. The Beer Den in Lowe's Jamestown is currently under remodel. Don't worry you can still get your beer on tap. It's a bit messy but am excited about the new additions. There will be a coffee bar, soda fountain as well. Staff is always friendly and helpful. I'm excited to see their upgrades. I enjoy going to the Beer Den at this location. I stumbled upon it accidentally one day. It wasn't too crowded and it was nice to have a little beverage while grocery shopping. There are generally some specials happening Wed-Sun and is a place for a cheap date. So far, I've noticed that Thursday nights are the most crowded and getting a seat can be a challenge. Hopefully the reno will change that. read more

Not sure why but the past few visits to this location has been off from previous times. A very good, convenient spot still but I believe the inconsistencies of produce and even staff is what has been making these trips not as pleasant as before. The produce could be really good one day, then as you go another day with the good produce in mind, you get not so great, old produce. Then this cycles. The staff can be really inviting and ask if I need help somedays, others times I just get a look. The meat quality and variety is really good but that also leads to its high prices, even on weeks with deals. read more

Lowe's in Jamestown on Guilford Road is a solid grocery destination with a lot to offer and consistent sales and mailed coupons. The store is always well-stocked with fresh baked goods, they make the perfect size sub/hoagie roll for lunches. Thy always have great deals on their Sausage Works products-- sometimes buy one get one. The beer and wine section has a good variety, and the Beer Den is a standout feature. They offer free samples, you can get a couple to try at a time. and the mid-week specials for reduced-price drinks and take advantage of their shopping cart to have cupholders so you can sip while you shop. There are a few high top tables and a couple of smaller tables and chairs throughout the beer den to accommodate. They offer a variety local brews and routinely rotate. The self-checkout area is convenient, even during busier times, with plenty of stations that make it quick to get in and out. I also like the lottery vending machine, which makes it easy to grab a ticket without waiting for an attendant. Overall, Lowe's in Jamestown is a dependable choice with good deals, an easy going atmosphere, and convenient shopping features. read more

I just started shopping here and as a grocery story I believe the prices are about average compared to the others near by. What sets them apart from others is they have a little drinking section. I've gone on Sunday and gotten mimosas for $1.50. It's tuck in the corner and very simple which makes it nice for a nice stop while shopping. read more

This store has changed in the last 20 something years, and it's not for the best. Store employees used to be friendly, and courteous. Fast forward to today and you'll find the complete opposite when it comes to employee attitudes. Back in August of 25, I asked two employees if they knew where something was. One of the employees responded with a very aggressive, "What?!!" The same night at checkout, the same thing happened where I asked the person overseeing the self checkout a question. His reply was an irate, "What!!?" There are way too many employees wearing nose rings, and have bad attitudes. They set the standard for the type of customer that frequents this store. On another note, some of their produce had been wilted upon purchasing, and some dairy products with expired sell by dates still sat on their shelves. For the prices customers pay, Lowe's needs to hire friendlier employees who aren't counter-culturalists with an axe to grind. read more

I am only going to comment on the sushi (Ron Roll) , frozen edamame and delivery person. Otherwise I would give a 4 because 1 item was not delivered and I paid almost $100 for free delivery for 1 year. Turns out it was for pick up. I am not allowed to drive due to health reasons. Sushi was fabulous and edamame as well. Sushi could have been eaten by 2. I have only been able to eat 1/2. So could it compares to restaurant quality. read more

Steve back at the smoker made me a meatloaf slider that was unquestionably the best sandwich I've ever had from a market. The Carmel cookies will send you over the top, chewy and tad gooey goodness in every bite! I could go on and on about why I absolutely love Lowes Market but try it yourself. What a nice find! We've never lived in an area with Lowes foods, just the home center. We decided to run in today to just pick up a few things. This is a really fun store. No, it's not a huge market and selections are limited, but the produce was very fresh and the bakery items looked great. I loved the tomato bar that lets you sample cherry tomatoes and that you can snip a few choices of fresh herbs. I know it's kind of gimmicky, but it's still pretty cool for a change. We also can't wait to try all of the different sausages they have available. I docked them one star because some of the prices are higher than the competition, but I'm still planning to have some shopping fun there. read more

Had a poor experience here today. I have been in the store several times and they have great quality for high prices, so the store is never my first choice. At 3:15 I asked for help in floral. They were two employees in a seasonal cookie display nearby. A young lady who worked there told me that she would get someone to come help in floral. By the time someone finally arrived, she helped a different customer who was also waiting. When I informed the employee that I had been there first she just said "OK." I left the store and will not return again. The store is full of employees who are friendly and will say, "May I help you?" but when you actually need something no one is able. Dirty, run down, discusting. There are large cracks in the concrete in the rest room, with a puddle of water from a water leak and or urine. The workers are not eager to help you, or know the answers to your questions. Does not seem well managed or it is understaffed. Messy, noisy and confusing store. The moral is bad. The employees don't seem to like working there, and don't know how to do their job or know the policies. Too expensive, with hardly any good sales. The new and improved Lowes stores have slowly risen on my list of preferred places to stop for lunch or pick up a quick dinner. Grocery prices are a bit high compared to local competition, but the store is always well-stocked. Best deal is the sandwich/deli pickle/brownie combo in the deli section for $5. Healthier version of a lunchable. We also enjoy their salad bar, sushi, panini and flatbread pizzas (all in the deli section). Great lunch options! They also have a "beer den" where you can enjoy a local beer or take it with you. read more

I love this location. The staff are always friendly and during the pandemic they have been nothing less then clean, professional and safe. There is always someone in the lobby to wipe down the carts and if by chance they are called away to help another customer I have faith in knowing that the carts that are available are clean and safe for me to use. Throughout the store there are floor signs and the employees are all wearing masks and making sure that we are all safe and taken care of. I love the Lowes Foods to go and I've been using it quite often when I'm not having to run in for a couple of things. This is my favorite grocery store around where we live. They may be a little higher than others but to me it's worth the price to avoid the big box stores that are in town. The people who work here are always nice and helpful. I was here the other day in search for coffee flavoring syrup and they helped me search for it until we figured out they didn't stock it. This has been my favorite local grocery store over the years. They offer a small assortment of specialty items as well as mainstream groceries. The pricing of their items is moderate, but they do offer some good sales. Most of the time the employees are helpful. I have had occasions when inquiring about a specific item that they didn't know what I was talking about (for example, key limes). I have also found that they don't do a great job catching expiring/ expired items. I have made purchases only to discover the item is expired already. I have to check expiration dates before selecting items now (so much that sometimes I have to look for the item at another grocery store because the particular item I want is only on the shelf in an expired state). They have a fair selection of organic products as well as gluten free and allergy friendly selections. The best parts of This Lowes Foods establishment are the Meat and Seafood, Dairy and Frozen, The Bakery and Deli and the Beer Den and Wine Departments. The Produce and Grocery are the areas that appear to need some improvement. read more

Posting my second review for this location, as I've experienced different aspects of the store now. I'll start by saying that I really love the Chicken Kitchen. I'll go there after work some days and pick up some chicken strips or potato logs, and the food is seriously better than most sit-down restaurants. Their homemade desserts are super good too. I've tried the banana pudding, and I love it. The salad bar is pretty prime too. It doesn't matter what time of day you come, it's always fresh. My only complaint about this store is definitely the checkers. I have to specify that this is not all employees who work here, because the people that cut the meats, the people who stock, the people at the Chicken Kitchen, are all very attentive and friendly. The checkers, on the other hand, act like they're all about to fall asleep! They're super slow and kind of dazed. Don't think you're going to get any kind of interaction from these guys either, because that's not happening. I don't know, it's just strange. It's not that they're rude, and it's not even the people at the self-checkout center, but specifically those few guys running the register. Strange. Maybe there's some kind of gas leak at the front of the store. read more

I am not impressed with this Lowe's at all. For one, they are usually higher priced on products than any grocery store including Harris Teeter. I just cant seem to find bargains here like I can at Harris Teeter. I am in no way implying that you cant, I just haven't been able to on the things I buy such as drinks, beer, ice, cook out items (Steaks, Shrimp, Ribs....etc) I stop here because it is convenient to a friends house that I frequent during the summer and I will grab a few things for us to eat/drink while we lay out by the pool. The self check out is a NIGHTMARE. THE WORST in the grocery store business. VERY TEMPERAMENTAL. Do yourself a favor and wait in line for someone to check you out. Just trust me on this. read more

On Friday, Dec. 23, my family and I got groceries here for our Christmas meals. I understand that it was busy, but we had several items which we purchased not placed in bags when we left. It is very unfortunate that our Christmas Eve afternoon was interrupted when we realized we had to return to the store to get the messing ingredients. From what my Dad tells me, this is a recurring problem at this store. As a warning to other customers, double-check that all of the items you purchase are in your bags before you leave! read more

In all honesty, I haven't even picked up my order yet and quite frankly I'm scared. I placed an online catering order for 9 trays on Wednesday at 8:30am for pickup Friday between 10-30 -11:00. I received an email and text confirmation. On Thursday evening at 5:30, I called to see if I could add 4 trays because of an unexpected department joining us (inventory at a business). The new (she told me so) very nice girl in the deli couldn't find my order. I was transferred to the lady that heads up the chicken/deli department who informed me that they prefer call in orders to online orders. Unfortunately, she couldn't find my order either. Just over 12 hours until pick up and there is no sign of my order. I asked for the store manager and got transferred to the grocery manager; she couldn't find the order either. That makes 3 folks that cannot find my order and I am not a happy camper. The grocery manager asks if she can call be back shortly, and I agree. Indeed, she calls back and she has called a 4th person to help track down the order. Lo and behold it was in the Lowes Foods to Go department instead of the deli. Whew, at least they had it. I was allowed to add the additional 4 trays however, I was concerned that they may not have enough staff to make 13 trays in the morning before 10:30am. The grocery manager assured me that was not a problem. This morning, Friday, pick up day, I got a voicemail just before 9am asking me to call Jane* (not her real name) in the deli. I called Jane and she told me that they didn't have enough staff in the deli and asked if could pick up my lunch order an hour later than originally planned. I explained that I had expressed my concern that this very thing might happen when I spoke to the grocery manager last evening. Jane went on to explain that the original order of 9 trays was assembled yesterday before the deli manager left (hmm...that order that no one could find?) Well, doesn't that sound fresh and yummy. So I was really perplexed that they didn't have enough staff to make 4 trays?! Jane kindly explained that it wasn't her department and she really couldn't see why there was an issue and "assured" me that all of my trays would all be ready at my original pick up time. 10:30am on Friday I received another voicemail that my order was ready and to please call back. No name, just call. So I called and explained I was returning a call from someone about my catering order.... ...hold...hold...hold...hold...Finally, a young lady in Lowes foods to go answered. Indeed, they had my order ready, they just needed about 15 minutes to enter it in the system. I asked for confirmation that they had 13 trays ready for me...hold...hold...hold...hold...hold...hold...Yes, indeed they had 13 trays that would be ready in about 15 minutes. Well, it's 10:55 and I am on my way, wish me luck! 11:10am, the car is loaded. The young lady that brought my order to the car was very nice and particularly pleasant for a rainy Friday. My order was wrong...or maybe it was almost right...I was missing one entire tray of deli sandwiches (lunch for 12) and had 2 lettuce wrap trays instead of 1, enough for 20, specifically for 2 folks with a special diet. During COVID-19 the wraps are especially tricky since you have to put everything together on the spot and that is way too much food handling in a group. The good news is that the food was fresh, it looked good and was pretty darn tasty. So, on the front end (ordering) it was a 1, in the middle (getting it right) it was a 2 and on the back end (presentation and taste) it was a 5. ...just have to wonder if it was worth all of the shenanigans. read more

Ryan, the meat manager, went above and beyond for my son with sever allergies. The clip your own herds for $0.99 is such a good deal. The produce people are always willing to give you just what you need and not a whole container. And let not forget the Beer Bar!!
