Since moving back to the South, Walmart has become something I had to learn to accept as a necessity. It's like that other large national retailer with the brown boxes that smile at you. You almost can't live without purchasing something from them because they are the only ones that sell what you need. I am thankful to have the resources and access, regardless. While I don't like how slow the check-out process can be (due to long lines and lack of cashiers), and I get frustrated at how often items I want are out of stock, there are some things I can appreciate. The employees at this Walmart are always nice and helpful. I have not met one yet that wasn't willing to stop and assist me. I also notice that they are always busy doing their work, which I can't day I observe at other locations. This is a very busy location, so the employees are ways restocking and keeping the shelves looking presentable, also. Kudos to the staff for that. We recently had a winter "storm," and this store helped me prepare by shopping for me and delivering what I needed to my door. I am very thankful for that. Although it needs some improvement, I would still recommend this store above some of the other locations in the city. read more

I'm not sure why I keep subjecting myself to the pain of shopping here. As I was walking in, I got ambushed by some approved Walmart solicitors who were a bit over zealous and obnoxious. While inside I attempted to ask a Walmart employee a question but she couldn't answer my question because she couldn't understand me. When I checked out the cashier acted like I was imposing on her need to hate her job. I attempted to engage but she didn't say anything. To add a cherry to my terrible shopping experience, the outside solicitors hit me up again and said, "what are you doing?" As I walked past them. I can only assume they thought I was obligated to donate to their cause. When I got to my car, I was approached by an unapproved solicitor asking for some spared change. I'm so glad this wasn't my wife or daughter experiencing this awful experience. read more

They have the freshest produce than any Walmart I've ever been to. Everything was organized in the grocery side. I didn't go to any other department except the food sections. Aisles were clean and easy to walk. I didn't have any staff interaction. I will say the parking lot is a zoo. No parking at all because the disabled spots were taken by people without placards. None of the people parked that I saw had a placard. read more

DO NOT PURCHASE any plants from Walmart Super Center (West Wendover Ave, Greensboro, NC) with the third-party vendor of Expert Gardner! I brought 6 vegetable plants ($2.47 each) back in March 2025, and these plants NEVER produced vegetables. I began a LONG email and in-person contact with the store to no avail. I sent them pictures of the plant, along with the tags from the plants but they still refused to reimburse me my money back. It didn't cost that much but it was the principle of behind them putting me, a 82 yr-old elder off EVERY TIME I contacted them So, BEWARE of any plants with an "Expert Gardner" tag attached to it. This store is clean and well stocked. There are too few cashiers. Many customers try to pay with charge cards that are declined. Each customer seems to swipe a few declined credit cards & check information on their phones with the cashiers before paying for groceries. This is so time consuming for everyone waiting in line, but it seems to be par for the course. read more

Since Walmart has done a remodel at their neighborhood market location, their prices have gone insane. I went to get some hamburger and the cost was $6.53 a lbs for 80/20. Aldi's in $4.55 and Harris teeter s is $4.99. check your prices many many many items are way more expensive than Walmart. This is the second time I have been literally appalled at their pricing. This Walmart has never been the best but now they just changed ALL self check to 15 ITEMS OR LESS. The checkout will call an associate over if it's over 15 items. You couldn't even make it 20 items or less?!? I understand there's theft but it's ridiculous when you only have a couple registers open during the busiest times. Youll lose so much more money because people won't check out. Customers will leave their groceries and any cold items will be a loss for WM. We will now avoid this WM unless we have 15 items or less or just avoid completely. This was a joke at checkout. Self-checkout is limited to 15 items. A lady walks around counting how many items are in your cart. If you are over 15 you have to go to a cashier. There are FEW open cashiers with long lines. This is a stupid idea and a inconvenience for customers. I used the home delivery service with disappointing results. Missing items, conflicting emails, late delivery. But when I called the store with a question, I was transferred and placed on hold for 7 minutes and then disconnected. When I called back, the woman who answered the phone at Walmart stated she would never use their service as it was awful and she got complaint calls all day. read more

Was in Walmart in Wendover on Friday May 5th around 10pm. Picked up things that were needed as we had recently moved. Got in line at 10:50 as all self checkouts were already closed and roped off. Had 2 regular lines side by side open. So the line was wrapped around. After being in line (and giving distance as I had 2 tiki torches that looked like javelins sticking out of the cart).As security guard approached and said "she's not going to ring you up it's after 11." I said we've been in line the whole time as the cashier / manger person was yelling no you were not you were walking up .. The lady in front of me even said no she was in line. The whole time the security guard was saying what do you want me to do . As manager kept replying I don't care I'm not ringing them up. And of course so arguing went back and forth. I wasn't leaving the line as I know I was there. People behind me even went and got in the line beside of me and had no issue. I HAD $600 WoRTH of items and the manger REFUSED!! I have never witnessed such unprofessional behavior in my life. The way the manger handled all this was ridiculous!! Yelling , eye rolling , mumbling under her voice and just sheer attitude..When people in both lines were even sticking up for strangers and telling this lady in charge that we were right and she was not .... But to let over $600 of business walk out the door is ridiculous---all because she was too lazy to help us. read more

This Walmart is abysmal. I've been to this location a few times after recently moving to the area, and am confident in saying that every single visit becomes my new worst Walmart experience. Let's start with the parking. Getting to an open space at any time other than early Sunday morning is a nightmare. The road to get to the lot itself is so narrow that you're constantly at risk of hitting the curb, other cars, or even shoppers hectically pushing carts with complete disregard for their surroundings. On two occasions, I actually drove to the very back of the lot to find parking only to almost get hit by multiple cars speeding diagonally ACROSS rows. One such driver came very close to flattening an entire family. Okay, so you find an empty spot and make your way into the store without being run over. Great. Or, it would be great, if being inside the store were any better. There's an overwhelming sense of "no-one cares" in this Walmart. There are a few exceptions; one gentleman on greeting duty and a woman I met in the grocery department were very nice and quick to say hello. Aside from the two of them, every employee I encountered was eager to pretend that myself and other shoppers didn't exist. There's no sense of hospitality, and I get it, it's a Walmart, but I've been to other locations that actually seem to care, and there's a noticeable difference. Even the general layout of the store seems rushed, lazy, intuitive, and unfriendly. It's simply annoying to search for what you're looking for. Meh. Do yourself a favor and go right across the street to the Target. Spend a few extra dollars. Call it an "avoiding Walmart tax," like I do, if you want. Save yourself the headaches and maybe avoid being hit by someone preparing for a NASCAR career in the back of the Walmart lot. read more

Over all, never had any issue with the store or anything I brought. Walmart has always been good on bad items. Thougth I would drop a few lines on the deli. Purchased what they called boneless bbq wings. Wanted somerhing quick and easy. Was surprised at the thickness, had good char marks as on an outside grill. They had a good taste and tender. Downside was there's no bbq taste or hint of it. Purchased since they were marked down from $5.80 to $2.90 for 3 pieces. Don't buy if you're looking for the bbq flavor or intent of adding it. read more

As far as Walmart's go this one is better than most but it's a typical Wal-Mart will one or two registers open and always lined up with people. If you need something quick go early before they get busy. The parking lot has become a haven for tractor trailers that park there like it's a truck stop. Will never order food again from Wendover Walmart. Ordered food to feed the homeless in the early morning. 10:11 pm and only part of my ordered that was supposed to be at my door at 6:30 pm still didn't show up. Called the store over eight times spoke with two different employees and was told the first time order was mixed up. Resending the order that showed up at eight pm and was missing several things that I needed. We feed the homeless and the food that was required never came. Supposed to be here in the morning I pray. I needed the assistance of a manager, recently, and Ryan, an assistant manager was the one on call. Ryan had really bad breath, but it was the smell of cigarettes that I couldn't handle. I'm usually not sensitive, but he was rank, and I couldn't stop coughing. Then, he wouldn't help me with my problem. I asked when he thought he might have time to help, and was told by Ryan that he wasn't going to help me. I asked if there was a better time to talk, and he replied not for me. I then asked if another manager might help me, and Ryan just walked off, not bothering to answer. Upon leaving, Ryan was smoking right at the front entrance. Guess smoking is more important than a disabled customer. At the very least, the smoking should have been away from the entrance/exit in my opinion. So, I left, and refuse to go back to stoned cashiers that barely speak English, and a rotten stinking assistant manager that doesn't try to do the job he's being paid to do there. read more

Some Walmart's are really nice....this is not one of them. I don't understand why some Walmart's attract the worst people possible, absolute trash. The Walmart itself is very dirty, understaffed, and understocked. Went on a late Saturday afternoon only 2 lines open with self checkout closed, guess how many employees were standing around the "customer service" desk-8. After living in many cities and frequenting various Walmart's for nearly 30 years, this is the most disgraceful place I've ever been inside. They are ALWAYS out of whatever you need, customers and employees are so so rude- they block aisles or shelving, literally stand on top if you or hit you without a word or apology, and are snarky like it's your fault. I have a love/hate relationship with this store. It is convenient because it is usually fully stocked with whatever your looking for, but the general public that shops or steals here, my lord. To avoid having to go inside, I have been a regular at grocery pick up. I had ordered a bag of apples with my order and when I got home to unload I took the apple bag out of the Wal-Mart bag and immediately saw they were all completely rotted with a horrific smell and bad juice leaking out of the bag all over my floor. Me and my husband continued back to electronics to ask if they possibly had a Playstation 5 console in stock for sale. As the employee working at the front desk asked what I needed and started to shake his head no once I told him, a MANAGER by the name JOHN that had just walked up and heard what I was asking for VERY RUDLY LAUGHED AND SAID SHES FUNNY! We were lost for words and I continued threw the store and asked a few employees about this particular manager to find out therevhas been NUMEROUS complaints on this Manager for how he talks to customers and employees. This Manager John has NO IDEA HOW TO TALK TO CUSTOMERS and his LACK of CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE is very apparent after the way you spoke toward me and my husband in store today. I came here mid-day on a Thursday looking for a curtain. The length I needed wasn't out front so I went looking for an associate to get them to scan it to check the back. I spoke to three different associates before the third called for someone to come and help me, and then I waited for ten minutes while nobody came. At this time I was surrounded by no less than ten associated walking around, joking with each other, and in general having a good time. Now, I'm all for people having a minute to relax on the job, but would it have killed someone to take five seconds to scan my item to see if it's at this store or somewhere else? I've heard this place called the Christmas Wal-Mart before due to how busy it is, but it wasn't that busy today. This will not be my local Walmart. read more

Oh and if you order anything online and they say same day pickup DO NOT BELIEVE IT! They will take the payment then delay the order up to a week and then there will be zero contact either online, in email or text to keep you informed on whats going on. 98% of the staff should be let go including the overall management team. Don't buy your groceries here. The lights in the frozen section don't work so you have to spend time opening up each frozen section looking for what you want. There is literally trash on the floor not being cleaned up by anyone. The bathrooms are horrible. The produce is horrible, it's literally rotting and still there for hours. The fresh produce section has a good selection of produce at competitive prices including organic produce. The store is well laid out, but you may find that some areas have a lot of things out of place which is more due to customers rather than store employees not maintaining the store. The store also has a bank, McDonald's, hair salon, nail salon, Tech support, pharmacy, photo center (although their printer was out of service on the most recent visit) There are some downsides too. The returns counter and the checkout counters almost always have a long wait. read more

At Walmart on Saturday the 6th, saw something very disturbing. The security that they have riding around parking lot harassing people lack people skills. They held up traffic in both directions to tell the S.C.A.T. driver that he could not stop there and let the people out?? Seriously, Mr Bald headed man, do you know that's mostly for the elderly and people who can't get around as well as others?? What off that were your family member, you want him to drop them off at top of parking lot and walk? Meanwhile, you've got traffic at a standstill? I don't know why I even continue to think that this Walmart would be different than any others. Employees don't even speak to you or ask if you need help. It's always customers having to track down help versus employees asking to assist you. Stay clear of this and every Walmart because the company doesn't value their customers.
