Magnolia Eye Care

Billing practices are deceptive. I was billed for two eye exams despite being told that my…read morefollow-up would be at no charge. This was because on my first visit, the eye doctor wasn't quite sure what eye prescription would work for me so she asked me come back for a follow-up to make sure that she "got the prescription right" for me. On my follow up, I was told that there was no charge for this visit and that there would be no charge for my next follow-up. Then, a month later, I got a surprise bill. I reached out to the Dr. and received a call from billing stating that it was a miscommunication on their end. Unfortunately, they were still charging me a second bill for the follow-up but the NEXT follow-up would be no-charge. (Pinkie swear!) That's not how business works. If I had been informed beforehand that my insurance and I would be billed for two eye exams because the Dr. wasn't sure about my prescription, then I would have absolutely refused a second visit. Never have I had this issue with ANY Dr. in any field. I canceled that 3rd visit follow-up because I no longer trust this establishment, will no longer conduct business with them, and do not recommend them. My wife who also has a follow-up will also cancel her follow-up and no longer conduct business with this shady practice.

I had my first proper eye exam (outside of the quickie they give you for physicals) at Magnolia Eye…read moreCare this past week, and was very impressed by the facility, what I learned, and the general feeling I got inside the office overall. Magnolia is a full-service center. They can perform just about any service or exam concerning your eyes, then get you fitted for glasses or contacts on site should you need them. I was very impressed by the technology at play in the office, as well as their commitment to lowering waste. Instead of signing and holding onto lots of paper, most of my information was gathered electronically, and I signed laminated forms that they then just scan into the system and clean off the sheet. There is far too much paper waste in the medical industry, I'm glad to see they're doing what they can to lower it. I had a litany of tests performed on my eyes, and my first full dilation. It was determined, not to my surprise, that I do need some correction for the first time in my life. I did browse their selection and speak with them about options, but felt I needed to come back when my eyes were less dilated and with someone who can help me pick out a style. Either way, glad to have found my first optometrist, and i'll be returning!
