Pros: the office is clean, staff is nice and prompt, and we're usually in and out in a timely manner. Since Covid, they ship contacts straight to your house since of office pick ups. Cons: a while back I had to cancel my December appt because I had Covid, and they weren't able to schedule me again until March. After a few dialogues they did provide sample packs of contacts until that time. Fast forward to this year: I had a baby and missed my yearly deadline (somehow they send reminders to my husband and not to me). But anywho-another 3 month wait for an eye exam and refusal to provide any sample contacts. We now have appointments made within 2 weeks at another facility. Fortunately for them they're doing great business, however it's unfortunate for their existing and long term patients.

So I was going to try them again thinking because of their closure during covid they would afford me with at least one more chance to a different pair of lenses since I paid $185 for a year of service Well to my surprise they are not willing to work with me. They will charge another $185 ( or more) to do contact lenses trial and exam. I was told by another eye care company that I wasn't a fit for contacts, but this doc at Battleground assured me I was. I tried 2 different pairs when I first got started and they didn't work. I kinda gave up but also had other concerns( back surgery) that were more pressing. I think the doctor made a bad choice saying I was able to use contact lenses and now I dont know what to think since they never gave me the full year that I paid for. Very disappointed.

I had one of the most stressful and upsetting experiences at this eye exam, and I feel it's…read moreimportant to share. It all started with a 45-minute wait past our appointment time in the lobby, where there was a person screaming nonstop. This was never addressed by the staff, and it left my school aged child terrified--she wouldn't let go of me and just clung to me the whole time. During the appointment, the staff asked me in front of my child whether she was "jealous of her older siblings" and making up eye problems just to get glasses. This was not only inappropriate, but it made an already uncomfortable situation worse. Then, when the doctor finally came in, we were told my child needed glasses to see properly. We were told that our insurance would cover the appointment 100%, but they didn't cover anything because the office had processed the insurance incorrectly. I called multiple times, left messages, and eventually had to send a letter to get someone to address it. When I finally received the bill, the staff was extremely rude and told me it was my fault for not providing insurance that would cover the exam--despite being explicitly told my insurance would cover it fully. In the end, I'm left paying for an exam that was emotionally draining for my child and should have been covered by my insurance. The whole experience was frustrating, and I was really disappointed by the lack of professionalism from both the staff and the doctor. I would highly recommend finding a different eye care provider. We will not be returning to this office.

I can't say enough good things about Kaluzne Vision Care... they are amazing!…read more I originally selected Dr. Kaluzne and his team because they were the only optometrist in the Winston Salem area to offer Optomap, a digital health picture of your eye that is saved and allows them to compare changes between visits. Well worth the small extra fee. When I first started using contact lenses they included some much needed, hands on lessons on putting them on. They reached out to me a few days later to see how things were going. When they learned I was still struggling they asked me to come back in so they could give me some pointers and practice with them watching. SO helpful!
