Prior to driving an hour to get there I called to inquire to see if the items I was looking for were in store. The person I spoke with stated that items of different sizes as I was requesting were available. Well, upon arrival I was to say the least very disappointed. There was hardly any stock of the brand I wanted in the store. After walking all over the store to find someone to assist us, I finally found someone. With the poor selection I had to order another item online. When I asked a different sales person about helping me after I'd purchased one item. He asked me had I paid for the item my grandson was holding paid for, I promptly showed him the receipt in my hand. He then instructed me to the bat area and said he would be there to assist with ordering the additional item. He never showed, so I looked for the original person who assisted us and finally saw him and waved him over. With all this being said, never again will I visit this store. Amazing experience shopping for shoes. Cameron R was fantastic throughout the entire ordeal. He was very knowledgeable and forthright in his handling of all the myriad of questions I asked him. He never seemed flustered or pushy and was willing to teach me exactly what I needed. I have plantar fasciitis and it hurts so bad but Cam R helped me find the proper Hokas to alleviate the pain. He was so kind and helpful. Kayla up front during checkout also was extremely kind and supportive. I went in looking for a Bowflex M6 because this Covid 15 is worse than my freshman year of college, lol. On the floor they only had the M3 and the M8 on display. A gentleman walked by (I believe his name was Erik) and asked if I was finding everything ok. I asked about the M6 and he pulled out a device to check. To my surprise they had one in a box in the back. I told him I wanted it. He went and grabbed it and then met me at the front so he could give the sku to the cashier. After it was all paid for, he told me to bring my car around so he could put it in the back for me. Huge thank you for giving great customer service! read more

What is the point of this store? Went there to attempt to buy shoes for my husband. They're not overly busy, but getting an associate's attention is an act of Congress, then they're out of stock in in 10.5 in almost every shoe. Yes... its a popular size. Stock-more! This is an issue every time we visit, but today was the last straw. Then moving on to clothing. What is the organization process here? Boys clothes one place, but boys clearance stuck on racks with womens clearance? I think some serious rethinking needs to happen if you want customers IN the store as opposed to only shopping online. read more

What I like about Dick's Sporting Goods is that every location seems to very well-kept and new looking. Plus, as far as I've noted, all locations seem to have the same layout--so it's easy to find what you are looking for. This Greensboro, NC is no different-- it's a beautiful store inside, it's maintained very nicely, and it's organized like all the other locations I've visited. Too bad Sports Authority, which is located practically across the street from this location, can't keep up. In fact, it kinda blows my mind how they can survive with such a superior store like Dick's located so closely. As for selection, this location of Dick's (like all others I've visited) has a huge inventory of goods and clothing for just about any sport you can think of. The only thing I had trouble finding were short sleeve polo style golf shirts, but it's probably b/c of the season... I mean, it was winter when I was last looked for them there, and that style is more of a spring/summer style. read more

We got a cool pair of purple cleats and some training shoes at DSG. We went in the morning so there was no line and we used a coupon and with some other discounts got around $20 off. DSG is a big sponsor of the local sports leagues so we try to support them as much as we can. The downside to this store: the staff looks a little sketchy and they are not very friendly, the prices (even clearance items) are high. We give them some slack because we know they support the community and most large stores hire lower skilled workers, like the ones at DSG, and try to compete on price alone. read more

This particular store failed us tonight. My son needs soccer cleats. Every box (!) he opened either had the wrong shoes, the right shoes in the wrong size, shoes with no laces, or used shoes in it! We drove over from High Point to be completely disappointed. I'm sure it's just that this store is poorly managed. The Charlotte area stores were always organized when we lived and shopped there. This Dicks Sporting Goods is very nicely remodeled, and has a great selection. I would give it five stars, however, I recently found out they don't price match. Even Sports Authority will match competitors prices AND accept other competitors coupons. I would still shop here, but I would definitely check out Sports Authority for better discounts on the same items (ex: Nike running shorts 20% off, clearance Nike and Adidas shorts $19.97). Also, since they remodeled you have to press a button that rings like a doorbell to summon an employee to open the fitting room. The problem is, under the old store design, when you pressed the button, it paged an employee over the intercom. Now it just rings, and the employees can't hear it unless they're standing near it (in that case, I'd go get the employee myself!). It took me 10 minutes of ringing before someone walked by and heard it. Ridiculous. read more

We bought a stationary bike that was advertised with free delivery. We paid for assembly. When they delivered it they had delivery only. I had to pay the delivery guys out of my pocket to put together at that time. The people at the counter are clueless of what goes on in the store and to see a manager takes forever. This is not a complaint letter but rather a thank you to Dick's Sporting Goods. This past Friday evening May 20, 2016 I was distraught as earlier that day my daughter's golf range finder battery died. In the process of trying to find a replacement battery for her as she had a tournament Saturday morning I thought worst case I will get her or well myself a new one and take the old one for myself when I find said battery. I've always wanted one and justified said purchase. So I find out that Dick's sells these (well at least that's what the internet said) so I proceed to your store in Greensboro, NC. Figure no problem walk in to store...I have money in hand and zip, bam, boom problem solved, NOT! I proceed to golf section and sales person (young man sorry didn't get his name) Look in case where range finders are and to my delight the exact match and IT was on SALE!!! Happy, happy, joy, joy, as daughter doesn't like change...Unfortunately sales guy says "let me check...I don't think we have any". The store didn't, nor did it have either of the other comparable Leupold units, CRAP! As I'm weighing options: "Store doesn't have any", umm what about the one in the case? "Sorry I cant sell the display"...Why not? "Ummm we can't do that." Hmm interesting sales concept. WAIT...what to my wondering eyes, there are (2) not (1) BUT (2) brand new in boxes, sealed new Bushnell's! More than I was wanting to spend BUT what the heck for an extra $50 its worth it! HOLD ON!!!! "Im sorry I cant sell those" says the young un-salesman says?! I do the whole cartoon shaking my head babbling WHAT?!? I have money...you have goods for sale, ON DISPLAY but I cant buy said product?! That's not how this works. Un-salesman says "im sorry but I just can't sell them" No explanation other than that. I will start my review by saying this is the largest and cleanest Dick's Sporting Goods in the area. I would rather come here than Sports Authority just because of the cleanliness of the store. From my experience this store is wonderful with Customer Service. If you buy something and are not happy with it you usually have a no hassle return. Dick's is also great about shipping to you house if the product you want isn't in stock. Last winter this place had a great North Face selection in which I bought several items, all of which I was happy with. Product and Value for the money paid. read more

Sunday marked one of the most embarrassing retail experiences I've ever had in my entire life. Those who know me know that I shop a lot. (Actually to much) However, Saturday My husband and I took our youngest son to purchase his football equipment from Dicks Sporting Goods. (Purchased $123.77) When we got home we realized that the one and only item that our oldest son wanted ($5.99 sweat band) was not in the bag. We called back to the store to let them know. The employee that answered the phone asked for a few numbers from the receipt. When my husband read the requested numbers she said "are you sure????? Cause that's impossible" (R-11) .... She proceed to say, "just bring back the receipt and we will fix it"..... and so we did just that today. To make a long embarrassing story short, I was treated like a thief when I attempted to explain to one of the department managers that we purchased an item that did not get in our bag. This "young" manager proceeded to speak to me in a loud condescending tone that when he "finished with his customer on the floor he would go to the back to review the videos from yesterday to see what really happened". Based solely on his tone and body language towards me in front of my 13 year old son and a long line of customers, I responded with a simple "please do". Grant you this took me by surprise for I have NEVER" experienced anything like this ever, not EVER not anywhere. I'm not real sure why I received this type of treatment over a $5.99 item however, I do know that is was certainly not because of how I presented myself over what I thought was a simple problem to fix. After standing at the counter for 30 minutes or so a female manager approached me to confirm that the video showed the cashier ringing the item up and while bagging the item it slipped off the shoe box over to the adjoining counter undetected. I'm no fool, I realize that people steal, however ... I DON'T!!!!!! I'm not exactly sure what is going on with customer service and or how certain customers are being treated today, but the embarrassment of how I felt being talked to like a $6 thief. (With a receipt) can not be translated into words here in this post. All the apologies in the world won't fix this feeling. Especially coming from a manager who had nothing to do with it. I feel confident that if the video had shown the sweat band going into the bag the rude manager would have delivered that message by confronting me and calling the police. But when his assumptions were wrong he passed the job to someone else. Once again I had to have that talk with my sons.... Dicks sporting goods used to be the best sporting goods store in the triad. The key words here is "used to be". I went to this store with one goal- buy a pair of shoes. After looking through the extremely limited inventory I found a shoe I could settle with however I regret even getting my hopes up. The box had one shoe in it so I assumed the other was on display but after very thorough investigation I could not find it. Then it took me 15 minutes to hunt down an employee who seemed to be avoiding me. He went to the back to retrieve the other shoe and had me waiting for 10 minutes until he returned without the other shoe. I then proceeded to buy some socks and when I arrived at the checkout it took about 10 minutes because they only had two registers open during the middle of the day. I can conclude that visiting This store will lead to disappointment and a whole lot of wasted time and I would recommend everyone go to omega sports before trying to tackle this joke of a store. read more
