It's important to note that the other two quotes I received were in the same ballpark, but their focus was on how quickly they get it done with the least possible effort. I would have ended up with a lesser quality paint job.

He gave me a very calm and reassuring feeling from day one, explained every step of the process clearly, and kept everything organized and on track. At that meeting, we were told we needed to install flooring under the cabinets. After speaking with a contracting friend and two other companies, everyone said that was incorrect. This led me to doubt their professional knowledge and expertise. After the initial meeting, everything started going by the wayside. They missed appointments, were hard to get a hold of, and changed their story. We went from picking out materials to needing another appointment for the contractor to see the home. During the second appointment for measuring and seeing the home, they "measured" by measuring at an extreme angle. The contractor, in charge of demolishing our kitchen, demonstrated no knowledge in how to properly measure (it was NOT an area needing an angle to measure). That was concerning. They also didn't know the business hours of their own vendors. When we decided not to continue with FC Construction, they were honorable in giving us a refund. But when we called to remind them, the owner told us the refund was in the process. The next day, the main company line called and asked for our refund information to issue a refund. So it being "processing" was a lie. I didn't trust them to start any work, so I have no idea how their work is. But I wouldn't recommend based on the many red flags mentioned above. You are lucky if he answers your email in a week's time. Many times he just doesn't respond. Mike told me he would match the paint in my kitchen and it is definitely not matched. It was an off white and now it's an ugly sort of dirty looking vanilla color. I'm going to have several of the rooms redone, especially the kitchen. I've been emailing Mike off and on for months and have asked him to come over and look at a couple of things regarding the painting he did in my kitchen. He keeps putting me off and telling me things like he's busy or will get over to my place one of these weekends. The paint behind my sink is failing. The only way I can describe it is to say it's sort of cracked. The caulking behind my sink has separated and there is a split at least 12 inches long. Mike painted my backsplash a bright white and it looks nothing like it did before he painted. I was shocked when I saw it but didn't say anything. I should have. All Mike cares about is getting your money. He is not the least bit interested in what kind of a job he does. His wife, son and daughter work with him and they don't know what they are doing. Mike will agree on certain days to paint and then change the dates. He doesn't finish the job and I had to call him back several times to ask him why things weren't done and ask him to come back and finish. I asked him why some of my trim hadn't been done and he said that wasn't included in the job. I told him I wanted that done. Once he left my condo completely unlocked which is a big thing to me as I have had break ins. I now have an alarm system. I am single and I am not rich. My mother left me some money when she passed away which is the only reason I was able to afford to spend thousands of dollars on painting and now I will have to spend more to have things fixed and painted in the correct color. Mike has himself set up on sites like Home Advisor and somehow has gotten himself an A rating. He shouldn't even be on any of those sites. They are recommending him to others. Just be careful and do not hire Mike because you will get a lousy job with watered down paint. I have many spots here and there where paint has scratched off and the wall has barely been touched. I even got Mike a job with my 90 year old upstairs neighbor. Apparently he gave her some pretty good prices. The prices he gave me were not as good. I have no idea how he estimates. Maybe numbers just come into his head. My neighbor called me once because she was trying to get in touch with him and he wasn't getting back to her. I told her that he probably would but she might have to wait a week. Apparently he did get in touch with her. I guess she was lucky. I can't say enough bad things about this company. Stay away!!!!!

We hired Mike on the recommendation of a neighbor. His family is very friendly. He promised to…read more(and did) make our house beautiful for a very low price, and his son water cleaned our roof. He never charged extra but reminded us that most painters would. He made our red trim and garage doors white. Our house needed extra prep work. Mike recommended getting new gutters, and we did. I also replaced some chimney siding he said was warped. He let me use his washer on my walkways, as he removed that item in order to reduce the price. I had plenty of time to use it. The weather and family issues impacted the timing of the work getting completed, but enabled me to ensure everything was prepped the way I wanted it to be (I did some of the priming, prep work, and all of the post-paint work). He left a few cans of paint for touch up. They tore off all of the masking paper and at our request took it away instead of using our recycling bin. They are very fast (hasty) workers but usually they only work a few hours day and a few days a week. I recommend having a deadline completion date in the contract along with what happens if the date is missed. This was hard on my wife who was anxious to get it done. Overall we are very happy with the result but we did a lot of related work and had to work hard on the communication, which was frequent as the timing of things kept changing almost every time we talked.

I was in the process of gathering three bids, as I am relatively new to the area and wanted to make sure I was getting a fair price. The estimator showed up on time and did the measurements he needed to and then asked if he could come inside to talk with us about the estimate. Then the hard sell began. He said that if we signed up with AV Painting on the spot, even though I had not gotten a second or third estimate, he would be able to get me a lower price if we were willing to vouch for the company and allow them to put a sign in our yard. I told him I was not comfortable signing up with the first company I heard from. He then said that they would be willing to match another price or maybe it was that they would let me out of an agreement with them if I could prove that another company was providing the same service for less. I understand how these things work, however, and I told him no. I was going to get my other estimates because, well, I'm a responsible adult. This man continued to try to sell me on the company. I had to say no three or four times and basically had to ask him to leave. It must be said that I ended up getting three other estimates and not one of them came in and sat down at my dining table and harangued me about their estimate. Needless to say, I was pretty turned off. But this was just the beginning. Over the course of the next weeks and now months, I have made clear more than four times that I will not be hiring them. I got a call two weeks ago and nearly yelled at the man to please leave me alone. I told him that they had lost my business and that I was not interested. This has not stopped them from contacting me. In fact, I just received an email today. Literally months after I have told them via email and via phone that I was not interested in hiring them, I am still receiving contacts from this company. At this point, I'm actually curious how they get any business at all. They have somehow found a way to match aggressive, hard sell tactics with a complete inability to respond to clear communication. If I could give zero stars I would. Do yourself a favor and save yourself the time and hassle of dealing with this unprofessional company.

I saw these folks painting my neighbors' house, and asked if they could come by and bid on a small…read morejob at my place -- a window company had installed five new windows, including fir exterior trims that needed to be primed and painted to match the existing trim on the house. The owner came by later that day, gave me a bid, and we agreed on a time when one of his crew would do the work. The painter turned up as promised, and the work -- including chimney caulking that my other painter had neglected to complete! -- was done on time, and beautifully. You can be sure that when I need a larger paint job done, I'll be calling Arrow!

We actually decided to ask them to patch and repaint a wall where the paint had cracked due to roof leakage (since repaired) and they gave us a really reasonable bid for all of that. They did an excellent job taping everything off, cleaned up perfectly afterwards, both inside and out and John, Hernado and everyone else were friendly and professional.
