It's a busy little shop, so don't expect them to always drop everything to fix your item on the spot. Went to drop off my Honda ridgeline ignition cylinder to get it fixed. Tony checked the ignition cylinder and called me immediately to let me know the ignition cylinder was not the problem. It is a tie as to what i hate worse, lying or attempting to rip me off.. Well they did both, I had a simple request, re-key my ignition keys to open the trunk and drivers door. If need be, just make me two keys for the door and trun as its the original lock. They gave me a speech that it is, and i quote; "a pain in the ass and over a two hour job"... Lies... I found an honest locksmith in Bedford Lock who said "sure, bring your license and registration and I can look up your keys from GM and make two keys" Lowell schlock and keys wanted over 200.. Daughter decided it would be a good idea to lock the keys inside. I wasted a few hours trying to get it myself for a while because I'm stubborn like that. So based on the great reviews and remembering good things I had heard in the past, I called Lowell Lock and Key. Tony in the office was great. Mike came out, within an hour, and had me all squared away back in the room and with new keys in no time at all. Literally 5 minutes to get in the room and another 2 minutes for new keys. After speaking with Tony in the office, Mike was sent out to do some work for me. He was able to re-key several locks and replace a deadbolt entirely when I moved into a new home. He works quick, efficiently, and seems to do it all right the first time. I asked for 6 keys to be made and he was happy to make them on the spot. Every key he made worked immediately without issue and without having to "wear them in a bit" like some keys I have had made at hardware stores in the past. Terrible customer service. When I walked in 2 people were at the desk and didn't even look up for 30 seconds. It's like you are bothering them by coming in. Thought maybe it was a one time thing, but nope. Went again and received the same attitude. Unfortunately they are the closest locksmith to me and they do get the job done at a decent price so I go there when I have to ( get special keys copied that Home Depot can't do). read more

Mike came out to change over our locks. While he's a talker, he really knows his stuff, and takes your convenience into consideration when making choices about keys and security. While he was on his way over, I ended up breaking a key in a dead bolt because the lock had hardly been used in many years. He took care of that without a problem (or eye rolling) and tuned it up to work like new. He even replaced a whole door knob to match the others. And finally, when testing all the locks and doors, he tuned up a door that was sticking so it would close more easily. The service call took longer than I thought it would, but I was glad to have things done right, and reasonably priced. I wouldn't hesitate to call him again. read more
