contacted and spoke with a representative over the phone and requested a replacement key for a Nissan Rogue. The representative said they had two key solutions one for $175 the other for $75. I told the representative I would like to purchase the $75 option and that I would drive down and pick up the key in the next hour. I then drove 45 minutes to the their store and was greeted at the counter by a sales person who then referred to me the person I spoke with on the phone. The person on the phone then confirmed what I wanted and then presented the $75 key at the counter ; he then proceeded to tell me that he was sorry but the $75 key I wanted wouldn't work with my car and that the only option I had was the more expensive $175 key. He said he wasn't trying to pull a bait and switch on me but that was just the way it was. The next I know I was told to "MOVE A SIDE " so they could he[p another customer. I had done business in the past with these folks and was shocked at the unprofessional treatment I received. I just wanted to buy a key at responsible price and be valued as customer. instead I was presented with higher priced option and told to Move A Side. What a disappointment. Great bunch of guys, helpful, and reasonably priced. I needed a key for my front door and brought the lock so they could make one for me. As it turns out, this wasn't a typical, standard, run-of-the-mill lock but some screwy kind of device that needed the original key and a special tool in order to re-key it. Ben took the time to work on the lock and managed to identify a key for the lock. It cost me a little more that expected but he saved the lock and provided me with 4 keys for $30. I can't image a more customer friendly business providing great service. Was visiting in Londonderry last week, when i realized it was only a matter of time until my grandson locked Momma out of their new house. The interior garage/mudroom door didn't have a key. Called several locksmiths in the area and they were either mobile only, on vacation, or simply not answering the phone. Called Dependable Lock and was assured they could make a key to fit the lock. I removed the doorknob with the lock, and drove down to Dependable, who immediately took the lock and started to work on it. After five minutes, I was asked if I'd like the lock made to accept the regular house key. 15-20 minutes later I was driving back with a door lock keyed to match the other doors. (and a spare key). Great price and worth the 20 minute drive. Will do it again if need be. read more

Locked my keys in my car while I was in downtown Nashua at Granite State Credit Union and parked at a meter with only so much time left. I also knew that I needed to be back at work within 30 minutes so I couldn't wait for someone to bring me my spare key as I would have gotten a ticket from the city and would have been late getting back. I called Dependable Lock Service and they were at my car within 10 minutes and had it unlocked almost instantly. They quoted me $90 over the phone but the driver showed up and said it was $79. I gave him the $90 anyway due to the situation and he most likely stopped what he was doing to come get my car opened. It was worth the money spent that day and I got back to work on time! Spoke with Matt about a problem I was having with the ignition locking up on my 2004 Toyota Avalon. The dealer told me they would most likely need to replace the ignition and keys and reprogram the new keys. The dealer estimate was anywhere from $300.00-$500 depending on what it actually needed. I ended up bringing it to Dependable Lock where they took the ignition out and cleaned it for the total of $65.00. I am very pleased with the service I received and any future problems I have I will be sure to go back to Dependable Lock with any problems I have in the future! I was looking for a safe for firearms and heard that DLS was the place to go. There was a sale on Liberty safes so I bought one in the mid to end of November. I sent in pictures and measurements to DLS and waited for a delivery (I paid for delivery and moving down a flight of stairs). The mover went on vacation and I finally heard from the mover on 20 December stating that they could not put the safe where I wanted it due to size and would not deliver the safe. DLS didn't even call me, they had their mover call me to let me know. Now I don't have a safe and I still owe money even though I will never get the safe. I really wanted to like DLS as I heard nothing but good things, but now I owe 2700 on a safe I will never receive. Update 29 December 2017 - I called DLS and asked to have the transaction canceled as I would not receive the safe. Gayle canceled the transaction. The good news is the amount I owed was closed, but I still have no safe. The bad news is I would have swapped out the larger safe for a smaller safe or had the larger safe put in a different location, but for some reason once the mover deemed the safe too big, there appeared to be no other options. Looks like I'll get a safe at Bass Pro or one of the local gun stores. read more

Another great experience! I had my trunk lock replaced years ago by Toyota of Nashua was shocked that I was given a key for the lock that did not match my door and ignition key. I paid several hundred dollars and now I have two keys that look exactly like. It's always a 50/50 chance whether it will unlock the trunk or start the car. After years of putting up with this, I called dependable and they said they can rekey the lock to match my ignition. $48 later and I'm back to using one key for everything. I never give 5 stars, but these guys were darn close. Their sale price on a gun 'safe' was great and when the manufacturer said to go lower, their normal price was even better. Had an odd issue for Dependable Lock, I had two large suitcases with built in combo locks that were stuck! The combination was not the issue, the lock was physically jammed. They were kind enough to take the luggage in, test it out to see if they could fix them and it worked! They were also kind enough to set the combinations for me so that I didn't have to worry. First two calls to other services left me feeling like I would be extorted or... well, at the very least not comfortable with the men who might arrive. Dependable was the third place I called. From the get-go I knew I was dealing with honest professionals. I was told the cost ($45 lower than the cheapest of the other two estimates), that I would need to show ID to prove I wasn't "breaking in," and that Bill would be there within 20 minutes (I was in downtown Nashua). Last Saturday my husband went here to have two things done. We needed the position of the key rotated in the handle for our doorknob (the way it was you had to put the key in upside down and we didn't like that) and to have our new storm door lock (that had the Kwikset pin to change it to any key) made to work with the key for our other locks. The doorknob came out fine, however, what irritates me the most is that we simply didn't know how to use the Kwikset feature and were willing to pay just so we didn't have to mess with it. Well, the guy didn't use the Kwikset feature, he completely rekeyed the lock, now the part the key goes in is upside down (which it was normal before he touched it), the part the key goes in now sticks out and isn't flush AND the darn piece to turn to lock it from the inside sticks out as well! Not to mention he charged $30. What's worse is that we ordered the new lock because it said you could change it at any time with the Kwikset feature and now we don't have that! I'm absolutely furious about the entire thing. Paying for a service is one thing, but don't completely change a new lock and make it look like crap when it had a feature we simply didn't know how to use and went to the people who know how to do it. *** One important thing to add is that our house locks also had the Kwikset feature and we went to them a month ago with no issue and they easily did it. Why they didn't do the same with the other lock I don't know but we won't be going back. read more

I was working with Ben to purchase a safe Dependable had listed on Craig's List. We agreed on a price and I was told he would hold the safe until the next day when I would come to pay for it. I arrived last night and was told the safe had been sold and rolled out of the store 4 hours earlier. Why agree on a deal with a customer, tell them you'll hold it and then sell it out from under you? When I spoke to Bill the owner he had nothing to say other then he would speak with Ben, All I can say is the is one of the worst companies I've ever tried to work with. I called early in the week for a non-emergency appt for a lock issue. I call the Friday morning that service was scheduled. When I called, I spoke with Rob letting him know that I was calling to confirm service for the morning. Rob said, "Yup, we will be out there later today." I explained that there was an agreed upon time frame of the morning. Rob said, "What time was that?" I explained that there was no specific time given to me but that before Noon was requested. Rob said, "We'll be out there." I again asked if it was going to be before noon and Rob replied, "He has 2 other jobs then he should be there." Since this conversation seemed indifferent to my needs that were established earlier in the week when setting up the appt, I decided that this might not be a good fit, so I said, "It seems that this may not be a good fit this time around since I can get a definitive answer, so I think I will cancel this service call." Next thing I know...I am hearing dial tone. A good company would have at least said, "I am sorry we could not help you this time but please try us again in the future." Immature and unprofessional customer service; not a business I want to support. And I am writing this review because Rob rudely just hung up. Perhaps they learn something from this. read more

I was having troubles with my car lock cylinder, but it turned out to be my duplicate keys I had made by Ford back in 2007. Dependable made three new keys fresh and coded (cut) from new and transferred my transponders to the new keys. I saved at least $100 because of their straight talk and have a good set of keys that will last and not ruin my lock cylinder over time. read more
