They are currently troubleshooting their website to determine why they never saw our emails requesting their assistance. They made good on their promise to perform maintenance for the install mixup and addressed our concerns completely. That's the kind of customer service that drew us to hire them initially and that's the type of service that will keep us coming back and recommending them to friends and family. I've given grace to this establishment however my patience has run out. A bit of background first... We knew we needed a replacement garage door because the door was rotting at the hinges. We had several companies provide estimates and ultimately decided to go with Lowell Overhead Door based on the initial meeting. Stephen Nelson of Lowell Overhead Door came out to our home in Amherst, NH and reviewed our options. He was very courteous, professional and prompt to respond during the process of purchasing the replacement door. We selected a Haas door. Stephen and Justin both came for the install of the door, rails and chain. Unfortunately most of the work was complete when we realized they were installing the wrong door. We decided to accept the door anyway and Stephen was nice to offer two maintenance visits for the mixup. We were grateful and impressed with his customer service. Once they left, that level of service disappeared. We have been trying since December to connect Lowell Overhead Door via text, email and their website because of performance issues with the door (intermittently reversing direction or not going down all the way, significant slack in the chain and the door striking the floor violently). We have received no response despite multiple attempts to make contact. With the spring coming, we want to use one of the maintenance visits we were told we would receive for their installation mixup. Again we've tried to reach out to no avail. So if you're looking for a company to install a garage door for you, you might want to skip Lowell Overhead Door if my experience represents how they treat customers after the sale and install.

I first got a quote from Vaillancourt Roofing for about $34,500 when my sister told me that we…read moreshould look at Queen City Roofing. As I researched them, their reputation was stellar. We went with them, and the final cost was $19,500. Both quotes had a 50-year warranty, and the only differences were that Vaillancourt put a 4' higher layer of the neoprene (I think) barrier, and they used Owens Corning shingles. Even though I do not know the names of name-brand shingles, I am 100% sure that Queen City Roofing also used an excellent brand, if for no other reason than they do not want to come back to do repairs. Anyway, those two little differences were not worth $15,000!! I also recommend using their recommended finance company as they were much easier to get what amounts to a high-dollar personal loan, than through my bank, for only 1% higher interest rate. Anyway, when they finally did the job, I was worried about how many nails would be left on the ground. Well, they did an incredible cleanup job. Based on the quotes I mentioned, you can imagine we have a very large roof, and so far, I have found 6 nails. They had 12 guys working that day, and did the whole roof in one day. They started at 7 a.m., and were done by 4:30! I cannot recommend them enough.

The quote appeared reasonable and due to the Covid-19 pandemic outside work was the company's preference. To our surprise work started two weeks earlier than originally stated. The existing deck was removed in one day and trucked away. Some structural damage to the area beneath the original ledger board was identified and approval was given for the additional work. Structural repairs and construction of the new deck progressed smoothly over the course of two weeks. The crew was professional and a pleasure to have in our backyard during construction. We are very pleased with our new deck (including a complimentary addition of a bird house on the top of a deck post).
